Some of the best sandwiches I have tasted. The Spicy Chicken Parmesan and Grilled Chicken Caesar Wrap are the ones that caught my eye and my taste buds. The seasoning on the respective sauces are just right-- there is no need to add pepper or salt. Truly balanced sandwhich with the correct Meat-Bread-Sauce Ratio.

Yes that is the one! Amazing sandwich shop in the Heights. Fully staffed with 4 people making sandwiches, 1 cashier and enough cooks to bring in the delicious chicken. AC blows in nice and cold in the summer. Payment is easy from your phone/tap/cash

Delicious. Most eggplant parm subs are too dry, or the bread too thick, and whereas this one was perfect is nearly all aspects. Sauce to bun to filling ratio all spot on. The bread tasted very fresh and it seemed like they took pride in ingredient quality. Definitely deserves the rating — highly recommend.

Pesto tortellini pasta salad was perfectly made and a nice portion for the price. Everything else looks amazing. They have a few tables but mostly set up to go and for deliveries.

Good sandwich, had #10 eggplant burrata and like some reviews have said they stuff the sandwich which is a good thing! The sandwich can use some more kick. It was a little too heavy on the sweet, maybe could’ve had spicy peppers instead of sweet ones?

This is hands down the best sandwich you will get in all of Jersey. If you are considering what to eat and you are not thinking of Veloce you got the wrong head on your shoulders respectfully. The staff goes above and beyond for you. The space is cute and always to the highest standards to clean. The wait time is next to nothing!!

I had my first meal in New York here, and it was amazing! The chicken and cheese sandwich was delicious — crispy, flavorful, and perfectly made. The bread was fresh with just the right crunch, and the melted cheese with the sauce was spot on. What made the experience even better was the staff — super friendly and welcoming! One of them even took the time to recommend some great local spots to eat nearby. It really made us feel at home. Highly recommend this place if you’re in the area. Great food and even better people!

Ohhhh baby we've got a good sandwich spot on our radar now. And I am pretty sure we are the actual last people to know about them. Order online or call in for pick up, but either way, take a look at the menu because there are so many tasty sandwiches and I always have a hard time deciding. My absolute favorite is #3. It's a cold sandwich with a chicken cutlet or grilled chicken (I've had both and you really can't got wrong with either) mozzarella, broccoli rabe, pesto, and balsamic. It's huge, they all are, and I usually need two sittings to get through these puppies. On top of the sandwiches being amazing, the amazing people here are always so friendly and lovely to chat with and order from. Sandwiches are like $15 each, they have gluten free bread usually and they are so worth every dollar.

First of all, the folks here are so so kind. On Father's Day when we came, they wished my husband a happy Father's Day at least five times, it was really sweet. We got a #4 sandwich and a chicken vodka parm sandwich. Both were $15 each. The sandwiches were delicious! They're on a hero-type bread and the bread isn't gigantic but they stuff the sandwiches high so you're getting a wide, not long, sandwich, if that makes sense.

Wow! This is my new go to sandwich shop. Tried out the buffalo chicken sandwich and it was delicious! Filled to the brim with buffalo chicken, lettuce, tomato and onion. I will definitely be returning!

This place was awesome! Very busy so I knew it must be good and worth the wait. I got an Italian sandwich with fresh Mozzarella and it was delicious! I highly recommended trying their pesto pasta salad it was AMAZING! I would definitely recommend this place and look forward to trying something else.

Salads weren't transcendent but were well above average for a sandwich place. Hot sandwiches met with loud oathy approval from the fed masses. Let's eat some f***ing sandwiches!

I was on the hunt for a good buffalo chicken sandwich. This place really delivered and then became the only place I can now order a buffalo chicken sandwich. The chicken to bread ratio is great and getting it on garlic bread just takes it to the next level. Looking forward to trying their vodka parm sandwich one day soon.

Literally the best sandwich spot in Jersey City! Every single sandwich on that menu is delicious. The service is quick and they have a small seating area if you want to eat there. 100/100 recommend!!

Great sandwich. I usually get a warm sandwich, chicken parm (in it's many variations) on the seeded bread. If you're not ravenous it's big enough for two meals.

So happy I stumbled upon this place in JC Heights Area! It's an Italian spot that makes a wide variety of cold and hot sandwiches. The space is clean and tidy with just a handful of tables and seats but does a lot of takeout business. Already been twice! Eggplant Parmesan (5/5) - Generous slices of breaded eggplant fried to a perfect crispiness. The tomato sauce was thick and flavorful. Overall a classic version done right. Spicy Chicken Parmesan (4.5/5) - My friend tried this one. A solid chicken parm with crispy breading and lots of melted mozzarella. The amount of spice is just right. Eggplant, Mozzarella, Roasted Peppers, Arugula, Pesto (4/5) - This sandwich really worked! The mix of flavors and textures was delicious. The pesto added a nice herby punch. This place is amazing IMO - the portions are incredibly generous, the food is simple but high quality, staff is friendly, and the sandwiches come out fast. Highly recommend and will definitely be coming back!

"Presentation at its best" This sandwich shop is top tier! The food is fresh and made to order. It wasn't hard to tell why it's rated top 5 sandwich shops in NJ. I ordered the spicy chicken Parmesan sandwich & ohh man certainly did not disappoint. The bread was fresh and topped with prosciutto . Thank you Veloce for the freshness and presentation. Definitely will be back.

Stopped in after a business trip in the city. This ended up being the best sandwich I've ever had. The service was great and food was prepared very promptly.

Jersey City can never and will never have too many excellent Italian delis. Veloce is a relative newcomer, nestled on Baldwin Ave in the Heights. The small shop offers up two dozen varieties of cold and hot subs, ranging from the classics (#12: ham, salami, coppa, provolone, lettuce, tomato, onion, oil, vinegar / a range of parms) to some fancier combinations (#16: prosciutto, asiago, arugula, fig, balsamic) I went with a #13: hot ham, pepperoni, hot coppa, provolone, lettuce, tomato, onion, cherry pepper, red pepper flakes. It was a huge sandwich and hit the craving for an old-school Italian sub, though lacked the expected punch from the spicier ingredients. While not up to the level of Andrea Salumeria (then again: what delis are?), Veloce is well worth the stop

Finally tried out Veloce's sandwiches in Jersey City. I ordered two different times via Doordash and both orders were delivered quickly and accurately. Their sandwiches are on the pricier side ($17 each) however they are a good size and you can eat one half and save the other for another meal. The Cold Sandwich #13 is a classic Italian sub - Ham, pepperoni, hot capocollo, provolone, cherry peppers, lettuce, red onion, olive oil, salt, pepper, oregano, pepper flakes on semolina. Really tasty. I also tried the Cold Sandwich #4 - Chicken cutlet, mozzarella, bacon, lettuce, cherry peppers, chipotle mayo. Between the two orders, #4 was my favorite and I will mostly likely order it again. The cutlet was nice and crispy. The cherry peppers, bacon, and chipotle mayo all played real nice together. Definitely a fan of this place - I did notice that the cost of the subs are only $14 dollars if you order directly through their website which will be the move going forward if I get food from here. The Hot sub #2 - spicy chicken parm - sounds like the next one I will try.

Must go-to if you love chicken cutlet sandwiches! Quality sandwiches that are suuuper good and so filling! We got one of the chicken cutlet sandwiches and the vodka chicken parmesan sandwich. We also shared a side of truffle fries. Awesome customer service and our food came out in a timely manner! The shop also was playing good music back to back hehe

I ordered the vodka chicken parm sandwich from here and it was delicious, but I'm giving 4 stars because it was $17 but wasn't full hero. It was maybe 2/3 the size of an actual hero, and for these prices I would and did expect a bigger sandwich.

Found this spot when we were passing through to get to NYC. Now I always stop whenever I'm going through Jersey. Huge recommend. When the FD guys are going to it you know it's good. Everything tastes fresh and the people are super friendly!!

It took me a while to try Veloce Sandwiches because they close at 5pm during the week, and I'm not usually home at that time. I finally remembered to order one Saturday for lunch and I am glad I did. My first time I had Cold Sandwich #11 (Eggplant, Mozzarella, Roasted Peppers, Arugula, Pesto) and the second time I had Cold Sandwich #10 (Eggplant, Burrata, Sweet Peppers, Basil, Balsamic Glaze). While these sandwiches sound very similar, I liked the #11 much better. I may be a fan of Veloce, but my fella is obsessed with Veloce. I also like their fries, and they will let you order the truffle fries but not add the truffle, if you just want regular fries.

I ordered & enjoyed the eggplant & Mozzarella cold sandwich. The eggplant was crispy, & the pesto was not messy. The staff were all kind, with quick service. Would definitely return!

10000/10. I wish I lived closer to enjoy this sandwich everyday. Adding vodka sauce really set this sandwich off. Absolutely delicious, from the fresh bread, to the crispy eggplant! The eggplant was fried to perfection and the breading wasn't soggy from all the sauce. Customer service was straight to the point, the person who took my order was kind. I would highly recommend to check this place out.

Delicious sandwiches, really friendly service. This place has easily become my favorite place to get some kind of chicken Parm sandwich or anything breaded and delicious. I have tried the number two, the spicy chicken parm, and the chicken nuggets, and the pesto salad and all have been incredible.

This Italian sandwich place has a long menu of great flavors, fresh ingredients, and large portions that'll fill u up! They have the takeout thing down to a science, but there is also plenty of seating (around 2 dozen chairs) in a spacious room if u want to eat right away.

Woke up this morning and felt like having a sandwich. A quick search on google showed this place with great reviews. I decided to try the #3 which was the chicken vodka parmesan, a hot sandwich. It came quickly and was very warm. I got it on semolina bread and had the prosciutto taken out. I was only able to eat half so I'll save the other half for later, but it was absolutely delicious. Very flavorful and there was a lot of chicken, def not skimping out on that. Overall very flavorful, great portions, and well priced. I would definitely like to try some of the cold sandwiches as well.

Wow amazing place! I ordered for our company lunches on Monday and they LOVE it...bread is awesome and sandwiches stacked nicely like a real sub!! not these other places. Caesar salad was on point as well and you can't not order the chocolate chip cookies and the CANNOLIS! So happy I found them for my company catering and we actually order from them for picnics as well

Excellent food! I saw a review about a cold chicken cutlet sandwich and I was skeptical at first about eating cold cutlets but one it was so good! Ordered on DoorDash and it arrived so fast. Truffle fries with the garlic aioli were delicious as well. We also ordered the number 12 which is a classic sub and so good. Can't wait to eat here again!

Mozz is way too thin. I am disappointed. I was expecting it to be similar to the massive mozz slices they have at Gio's in Secaucus.

Absolutely amazing. The staff is so nice, friendly, and welcoming. The restaurant is super clean. The sandwiches are amazing and they have so many options. We tried a few of them and every single one was so good!! All of the ingredients were fresh and so tasty. Definitely recommend stopping by, you won't regret it.

This place is slinging out delicious, affordable, and filling sandwiches - the best combo!!! The melted mozzarella cheese on top of the chicken cutlet was just too good. Will definitely be back here

As a remote worker (as of press time) with a decent work ethic but iffy time management skills, I certainly appreciate Veloce. It's fast, filling and flavorful with a low risk of spilling sauce everywhere. I wonder if it would meet the stringent requirements for police cooking in The French Dispatch. Recent highlights include cold sandwiches #12 and #13.

Veloce is tucked away from the main streets of Jersey City, but that doesn't mean it should be overlooked. Self-described as an authentic Italian sandwich shop, Veloce offers a variety of cold and hot sandwiches, as well as salads and sides. It can take some time to browse their extensive menu, which is posted above the counter, on paper takeout menus, and on their website. Several items are vegetarian-friendly, though few are vegan. Most are centered around Italian deli meats or chicken cutlets. I ordered a cold sandwich with grilled eggplant, roasted peppers, avocado, broccoli rabe, arugula, balsamic, and olive oil. The combination of flavors worked well together and I didn't feel like I was missing out by choosing a meatless option. The bread was good, but would have been even better if it was seeded. Overall, I really enjoyed the sandwich and would definitely go back to try something else on the menu.

Really solid chicken cutlet sandwiches. Ingredients are super fresh and the staff is super nice. More of a grab and go place but they do have seating that is comfortable.

I try to go to this place at least twice per month, even though it's a bit of a drive from where I am in Jersey City. They pack their sandwiches with two big pieces of chicken, and it's possibly the best chicken cutlet you'll ever find from a deli... always warm and crispy, can tell it's freshly made. My go to sandwich is the #4 but I've gotten a handful of others and they're always money. Recently got a salad which was very good as well, and reasonably priced. The service is great too, always friendly and accommodating. There's a ton of old-world delis in Hoboken/Jersey City, but I'd put this place up with any of them, especially if you're looking for a chicken sandwich.

Hands down one of the BEST chicken cutlet sandwiches I've ever had. The nuggets are fantastic. I was skeptical about the nuggets but they're so crispy, well seasoned, and meaty. Highly recommend. They're swamped at lunch time tho so plan accordingly!

I've been wanting to try this place for quite a while. So many folks said it was guuud. They were RIGHT. I ordered 2 sandwiches cuz I couldn't choose, and I figured that's four lunches right there & some pasta salad to add. The staff were hella nice, hard-working and organized orders for in-store folks & the pre-orders. I got #11 & #16 & pasta salad & walked back home, hungry. I am amazed at how the #16 (Prosciutto, Asiago Cheese, Arugula, Fig Spread, Balsamic Glaze) ingredients came together, respected each other, and tasted amazing. The bread was just as good as the ingredients & you can choose between seeded and regular. That sandwich is gonna be something I definitely crave & get in there for. #11 (Eggplant, Mozzarella, Roasted Peppers, Arugula, Pesto) was nice. The eggplant was breaded like how the Italian grandma makes it before she adds homemade tomato sauce. The cheese was sliced thick. Arugula a nice add. Not sure if it was the eggplant that gave me a sliiiight saltiness that made me question if this was truly healthy for me, but I enjoyed that too. I think I would dip it in some tomato sauce for a lil extra joy. They didn't half-ass the pasta salad either. Lil edible sized balls of mozzarella & plump tortellini in olive oil with sliced lil tomatoes and a perfect amount of pesto. I fought myself not to eat it all. I brought the rest to work and hummed as I finished it. Go get some. They deliver & I bet you can order in advance to pick-up. There was seating, & that's cool, but if you take those perfectly wrapped sandwiches to the park you'd be the star of the picnic.

Phenomenal sandwich gem hidden deep in JC heights. First time went here today and I am a fan or the taste and the the great size of the sandwiches- talk about value and great taste combination, Veloce simply epitomizes that combo. Verdict - Absolutely must visit

This place is GREAT. I found it when I was in the Hoboken area and made the trip a little outside of it to Jersey City to check it out. Great Italian style sandwiches. It isn't hard to find and is a top-tier sandwich. I'm proud to see the owners are from my hometown of Rockaway. Would love to see a location in Hoboken at some point, I think it would do well!

I ordered truffle fries for pickup. I went there and my order was sitting in the corner for god knows how long. The person at the register said "your fries might be cold". Which was a red flag because I live down the block from this store. How would my order be cold that fast? I got home and my fries were literally wet. I air fried them and they were still soggy. I'm never coming back here again and I'm disputing this charge. Waste of $7.

Great addition to the neighborhood. Sandwiches are high quality and unique and not just for the area, but in general. Any of the chicken cutlet options are worth trying.

Sheeeeesh One of the best sandwiches I've ever had, bar none I got the spicy chicken parm (straight fuego)...I loved it, there was some spicy deli meat on there, that I enjoyed but was not expecting tbh (be aware)...Overall flavor profile was on point Loved the sesame seeded bread, n fresh moz (I planned to eat half and save half, but I ate both halves) Service was great, I was in and out in less than a minute (pickup order) Enjoy

Great sandwich shop. Ordered a number 6 and requested that they swap out the mozzarella for burrata and added lettuce. I was surprised that they didn't charge more. While the sandwich looks small, it's not. They load it up with a lot of chicken so it's plenty hardy for pretty much anyone. In comparison, I recently ordered a chicken cutlet sandwich from another JC deli with high ratings and while the bread was longer than Veloce they filled it with one cutlet high which virtually had no chicken (the mutz was 3 to 4x thicker) so it tasted like cold breadcrumbs. Veloce had 3 hearty cutlets on the sandwich which had great taste. All in all an excellent sandwich. I highly recommend this place. The only caution I would give is to order ahead if you can, or you may be waiting 10 - 15 mins which is a small price to pay for a delicious sandwich.
