Yelp
This review is for the new Weekend Brunch at the Fairfax location. First, a little background. I've been to this location a number of times in the past few years and had very mixed (and one very bad) trips. I stopped going there after that last time. After I saw that they had a change of management and a new weekend brunch, my family and I gave it a shot as the menu looked like a fun one to try out.
So, with a little trepidation, we got there bright and early and sat outside. BTW, they are a dog-friendly place so feel free to bring your pupster and sit at one of their many outside tables. Their brunch menu is an AYCE (big) + bottomless drink menu (small) affair but with a menu of items that they cook and bring it to your table. For this trip we went full-on carb loading and tried their biscuits, cinnamon rolls (skillet-based), stuffed French toast, breakfast tacos, basic American breakfast and chicken and waffles. The result - the biscuits (especially when made fresh) were great, the American breakfast was as expected but the bacon was great, the chicken and waffles were good but the strawberry French toast was absolutely delicious and the tacos were overstuffed with goodness and chorizo. Everything was cooked perfectly, no complaints about the food and the menu has soooo many things we didn't get a chance to try.
The service was also great and our server Caitlyn was attentive and always there with an offer of more food, refills on hot coffee, etc. The inside of the restaurant looks great and bathrooms were spotless. And I had a good chat with the manager, Matt.
The only negative thing I can say is that on the website they talked about having non-alcoholic drinks (such as Cold Brew) that wasn't available. Hopefully they will have that the next time we go back.
Overall, I'm giving them 4 stars since I can't give them a 4 1/2 stars because of the website disconnect. Hopefully the next time we go back, it will be a full 5 stars.
Thanks for reading, like most of my reviews they are not short. :)
