Velona's Jungle Luxury Suites

We love love loved the unique and gorgeous decor in every room of this property. Each item seemingly hand selected yet perfectly paired with others around it. The entire hotel seemed to be modern yet ancient in the most perfect balance of past and present. Is it clear the dedication and time it took to collect all of the articles. We were greeted upon arrival by Frederico and despite having stayed at some very luxury hotels he gave us, hands down, the best welcome and introduction we have ever experienced. He was so warm and friendly, seamlessly getting us coffee after a long travel day while moving our luggage to our room and then giving us the best map tour of the city I’ve had. He included some great recommendations for food and otherwise in the city both from the owner as well as his own opinion. Thank you SO much! We highly highly recommend staying at Velona’s to anyone considering.

My husband and I visited Florence from Dubai and stayed at Velona’s Jungle in one of their beautiful luxury suites— we were absolutely blown away. From the moment we checked in to the very end, the staff were the true definition of hospitable. The entrance is stunning, the suites are spacious, bedding very comfortable, products top quality and the list could go on. The breakfast was 7 star quality, the croissants baked to perfection. ||We interacted with Guilio who took great care of us from our very first day. She helped us with many dinner reservations and accommodated all our needs with so much grace. ||The owner Veronica is so wonderful and hospitable - her warmth and kindness just makes your stay that much more special. ||I would recommend Velona’s Jungle to anyone who visits Florence as your stay in this gem of a city will be 10 times more enhanced.

We had the pleasure of staying in the Fossey Suite for four nights. The Fossey Suite is large, very clean, and spacious, and we felt comfortable and well cared for during our stay. The breakfast (which arrived on a little cart in the morning at the time we specified) was fresh and delicious. The service was absolutely outstanding. We received kind, attentive, and excellent help from Giulio, Maryann, and Veronica (the owner) - but especially Giulio, who went out of his way to assist us with a problem with our boarding passes. The complimentary minibar is refreshed every day, and there is water, tea, and an electric kettle in each room. The decor is lovely and there is beautiful attention to details that make each suite unique and special. After a side trip to Siena, we also stayed here on our last night in Florence in the Cousteau Suite, which is smaller and less expensive than the Fossey Suite, and doesn’t come with breakfast - which was fine because we had an early morning flight to catch. We highly recommend Velona’s Jungle Luxury Suites and would stay here again on a future trip to Florence. Book early because this is a popular place!

We felt very welcomed at Velona’s Jungle. The owner, Veronica, inherited this place from her grandfather and has used pieces of his collection for furnishings and decorations. The photos on the website don’t do it justice - it’s stunning IRL. It’s a great location - far enough from the tourist areas but walking distance to the attractions.||||Communicating with Veronica and Maryline was exceptional. They helped us with transport and recommended places for us to eat (vegan) and off the beaten path sites for us to see. Upon request, Veronica also gave us the contact information of a wonderful private tour guide (Giacomo Piccardi Tour Guide Firenze).||||One of the best memories is having a vegan breakfast delivered to our suite every morning and the lovely fragrance of jasmine wafting in from the opened balcony.||||Would highly recommend staying here for a remarkable memorable experience.

I wish I could give this place six-stars! Everything about it was wonderful. My fiancé and I ended up coming to Florence unexpectedly and were able to get a same day reservation at Velona’s. Mode greeted us and gave us perfect directions to reach the lodging. It’s an easy walk from the train station. Each room has a different theme. We stayed two nights: one in the Livingstone room and another in the Costeau room. Both were beautiful and comfortable. The design throughout the entire property is spectacular! The real standout: the folks who run the property. The service here is incredible, warm, and attentive. Their restaurant suggestions were all fantastic. Mode even found us a brewery to visit after hearing we are brewers. It’s a family run property and it shows. Everything is done with love and the utmost care. We had breakfast the first day and it was spectacular! Two days was not long enough of a stay. We are already dreaming about coming back, and we would definitely be staying here again!

Absolutely stunning, beautifully done interiors. One of the most tasteful places I’ve stayed in. It’s not a traditional hotel. There’s are only about 10 rooms I think. I would say it is better suited for couples or solo travel. The location was great, 15 mins walk from ponte vecchio, use scooters to get around. The place has history and warmth and beauty. Each room is unique and colorful. We stayed in the Thoreau room i didn’t want to leave! Everyone we encountered there was friendly and helpful. I would stay here again and again in a heartbeat.

My wife and I stayed at Velona's Jungle Luxury Suites in November 2024 and we could not be happier with our stay. ||First off, the staff was in contact starting from a few days before and was super attentive and easy to reach via Whatsapp. Then, from the moment we checked in, we were warmly greeted by the staff, who was super helpful. Giulio in particular was super friendly and helpful, and even sat down with us to map out all the great spots to visit in Florence including attractions, restaurants, etc. By the way, his restaurant recommendations were excellent. They even helped us to arrange for a taxi and offered to call any restaurant to make reservations if needed. ||The room we stayed in was very pretty, elegant and unique, but at the same time very clean and cozy. The beds were super comfortable and close to queen in size (even if the website lists it as size double). ||Location-wise, it was also very good. The hotel is sort of on the outer boarder of Florence, and so it was in a quieter area yet still only 10-15 minutes walking distance from the main square and all the must-see sites of Florence. ||Overall it was an excellent stay and I would highly recommend it to anyone. Great value for the price and very unique hotel room experience. I would definitely stay here again in a future trip to Florence.

This boutique hotel is a beautiful place with such a beautiful story, and theme! My friend and I stayed here for a night, and the service was excellent! Veronica, the owner, was so kind and handled a small inconvenience with such integrity. Also, Giulio and the lady who welcomed us were amazing! Highly recommend, and will stay here again when back in Firenze!
