UEFA Euro 2024: All the matches, dates and a guide to the Euros host cities

Home to FC Schalke 04, described as one of Germany’s most successful football clubs, this stadium in Gelsenkirchen anchors a city once known as ‘the city of a thousand fires’ for its blast furnaces, and it now gains fresh prominence as a Euro 2024 venue while carrying the legacy of the area’s heavy industrial past. - Liv Kelly

One of the best football stadiums I've been to. Well organized and competent. Really good Currywurst & Pommes! Good sized portion, fair price, served quickly. Good seats with a good view.

Top venue for concerts too - went to see Bruce Springsteen and everything was very well organised. More bathrooms are needed - as an improvement point. They only think about men and football matches, but for other events, needs to be more inclusive also for kids and women.

I recently caught Iron Maiden at Veltins Arena and it was an incredible experience. This venue truly lives up to its reputation as a massive arena, perfectly capable of accommodating a huge crowd for such a high-energy event. The atmosphere inside was absolutely electric, and the layout offered great views making it a fantastic setting for a concert. Highly recommended!

We went for the PUR and Friends concert. It was awesome. Affordable drinks and snacks too.

Great game! The arena was easy to get to, and the atmosphere was solid. Beer was reasonably priced at €5 for 0.5L, plus a €2 deposit. Overall, a fun experience!

This stadium is big enough for concerts but sadly enough not to help that many people. We had a very good experience in the last concert of Robbie Williams, the sound , service, and toilets were very clean. Everyone gets well checked before entering the stadium and there was no waiting line(we were kind of late) and there were still free parking spaces. The concert app advised us to use public transport and park out of the city but because of traffic that day we were forced to park at the stadium itself which made it a very unpleasant experience in the end. Food was nice and they have vegan/vegetarian options. Getting in the parking lot isn't fast enough because of traffic lights that aren't going on fast and getting out is another story. We had to wait more than 2,5h to get out of the concert and that happened because traffic became less at 1:00am. Except that the road you had to walk to the parking lot was full with people and for the first time I saw a walking traffic where people would walk so slow because was busy and there was no direction on other options to leave the stadium (at least not very clear). So my advice here is to park far from the city and walk/public transport so you'll know what time you want to be home on time.

What an amazing atmospheric stadium 🏟️. Where we were in Sudtribune, 1. We had brilliant seats where you could see everything. I feel that every seated spot here is a good one. Would definitely go to another concert here.

The stadium was truly impressive, with an incredible atmosphere that made for an unforgettable experience at The Eras Tour in Gelsenkirchen. The venue itself is an architectural marvel, offering comfortable seating and fantastic views of the stage from all angles. The energy in the crowd was electric, with Swifties from around the world coming together to enjoy an extraordinary show. Facilities were well-maintained, with clean restrooms, although additional women’s restrooms would have been helpful given the crowd size. A few more friendly faces among the kiosk staff could have added to the experience, but overall, the event was exceptionally well-handled. The staff and security team did an outstanding job, ensuring everyone’s safety throughout the night. 🙏🏼

Yelp

Yelp
Despite being a huge football fan I've not done many stadium tours. Two, in fact. But this place is special. Built for the recent World Cup, it's home to one of Germany's longest-standing teams and features some incredible architecture. The pitch is one of only two in Europe (the other's in the Netherlands) which is stored outside the ground and wheeled back in for matchdays. This lets the ground be used for many other events. Unfortunately, at least when I went, the tour was only done in German. Thankfully, a very attractive young lady volunteered to translate for me as we walked around and I had a great time. The museum is also interesting and there are a few photo ops as well for those wanting a cheap souvenir. Video link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HcYoN8io_do
