Great tacos!! And quick service too. I visited because I was charging at the station down the street and that was charge time well spent!

Cam was so nice and helpful. This is the best velvet taco by far! And the food is always amazing.

If you love a good taco, check out this place! They have soooo many taco options and you will find a delicious option for even the pickiest taco eater. I opted for the “Say What” combo which comes with two tacos and a side. It’s a great deal! I had the spicy chicken tikka taco and the chimichurri steak taco. I paired them with chips and queso. Service is fast casual and despite being a busy noon hour, our food was ready quickly. The staff who took my order and gave me my food was charming. Overall, highly recommend.

Google
Great location, fresh cake, chips and queso was on point… Highly recommended!

It was my first time trying Velvet Taco and I had an amazing experience! Staff, Selena Torres, was so patient and helpful while I was trying to order. She patiently explained the menu and how it works to place an order at Velvet Taco. A big thank you to her!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Even with a long line from a conference in town Cam stayed collected and kind giving great recommendations! Food was fantastic. Will be eating here again next time I’m in town.

Yelp
I would like to send a shout out to Cameron. He was very friendly & gave great customer service. Check out this location for sure. They are quick and gets your order right the first time.

Yelp
Velvet is the place! This is a great place to get tacos! I got the Korean taco along with Birria. The Birria Taco was great! We also tried the Brisket Nachos not much brisket but the flavors were very fresh! Recommend this place.

Yelp
It's so many taco places to try. So many. And I am upset with myself for not trying this one sooner. I have seen this chain in Houston and Dallas. This weekend I was able to try them by a recommendation and it did not disappoint. I have the rotisserie chicken taco, rice and a chicken tikki taco. They were all delicious. This location stays open until 4 and we were here pretty late and it was still packed. The wait wasn't long for the tacos and everything came out hot. I definitely plan on going to another location go get velvet taco again.

Thomas P.

Yelp
Very good, fancy taco place. I have not been to Velvet Taco before and it seems nice, I don't know how it compares to other Velevet Tacos (TBD). I liked the variety of taco options, the chicken and waffle taco and the grilled steak taco were delicious. It was also nice that they had lemon and lime available, along with hot sauces that you can add onto the taco. The service was fast and efficient. I came during a busy time. Was welcoming. The bathroom though was busy and people had to wait. Also, the cleanliness could be a little bit better. It also was a little bit difficult to drive into the taco place based on the structure of the streets.

Kim W.

Yelp
Good food and great service. I like the new menu options. Cam was super helpful and made our dining experience great!

lexyi m.

Yelp
I came late at night to get my usual and cam was super quick to help me and got my order perfect! The food is always great here as this is always my go to spot after working late nights! Will forever be my store to come too!

Yelp
It was my work besties birthday and we were treating her to lunch and she chose Velvet Taco. Honestly I had been here before and wasn't pleased with my meal but I took one for the team and decided to give it another try. I was trying to follow a dirty keto diet regimen and I was happy to see that lettuce wrapped tacos were offered. Needless to say I'm glad I gave it another try as I absolutely loved my meal. I order every time my coworker goes.

Jasmin S.

Yelp
This place definitely has cool decor. Service was friendly and courteous but the main reason I wanted to go here was to try out the tacos! Sadly, I was disappointed in general. The flavors fell short but still gets 3 stars for the taco set up and ambiance. I tried 6 tacos and their red curry queso and only liked the Kobe Smash Burger Taco. The queso was too thick and small for the price.

Nicole G.

Yelp
I freakin' love this place. I could probably eat it once a week for the rest of my life and I wouldn't get tired of it. My all time fav is the slow roasted angus brisket taco. I don't know how you top that one. The picnic chicken is always good too. I try to check out the WTF often. Their margarita and sangrias...delish!!

Moukthika O.

Yelp
10/10 taco place in Dallas, they always have a ton of varieties, and the food is always amazing!! B

Haylee R.

Yelp
Service was seriously amazing, always super friendly and welcoming! I absolutely love the new bowls I got the tikka bowl, absolutely delicious!!! Velvet is one of my most favorite restaurants ever.

Lori H.

Yelp
Top notch! Good food, good flavor, price is reasonable. Had two tacos; the Mexi Cali Shrimp Chimichurri Steak and some Elotes which came with blue corn chips. Everything was amazing! I'm a taco lover and this one just hit the top of my list. Will come back if I'm back through Dallas/Addison

Yelp
I love a fusion taco and these might be the most fusionest tacos. I have no complaints my team left happy and full! On the final day of a conference my team decided to walk over to Velvet Taco, a much discussed taco spot by attendees and my uncle who is local. My uncle mentioned the elote so that was an obvious must order but I struggled to estimate how many tacos to order. The answer is TWO TACOS. These babies are not street tacos they're big 'ol tacos stuffed with toppings. I foolishly got three: Fried Paneer- 2/10 this was my least favorite because I was expecting big Indian flavors and got more bruschetta/caprese/Italian vibes. Would suggest they up the spice and use fenugreek not basil. Rotisserie chicken - 4/10 this was a perfectly good taco but didn't wow me. I ended up scooping out the toppings and ditching the tortilla. Brisket - 9/10 I loved this taco it had great flavor contrast and the cheese on the outside of the tortilla added great flavor without making it too greasy. Elotes - 7/10 a little too much crema and not enough bite for my preferences but definitely tasty Queso- 8/10 yum Tots- I liked the salsa. No rating because I only ate half a tot as this was my coworkers order and I was stuffed. I tried the margarita, it was fine, not overly sweet but not fresh tasting.

Sheilicha S.

Yelp
When I walked inside, there was no wait but the person in front of me was taking her own sweet time with actually placing her order. So I waited for about 10 minutes in what I thought would be just a few minutes. Shaking my damn head. My meal was $21.38 rather pricey and it's not upscale dining but maybe it is. My food was decent where I originally wanted to dine was at Vidorra's but the line to dine in was literally wrapped around the building yikes. So I saw Velvet Taco's sign as I was in route to heading home and decided to stop. They close at 4a.m. That's something I didn't know until yesterday. I'll definitely return maybe just to have another Sangria, and the Rotisserie chicken Street tacos.

Ta'Brechi H.

Yelp
Yelp 100 - # 4 Jan 22, 2023 Ordered the #2 Rotisserie Chicken with queso, roasted corn pico, salsa, and cilantro on a corn tortilla. I love Velvet Taco and love to try different menu items one at a time. Each item is so flavorful that sometimes it can be a bit much for my taste buds. On my next visit, I plan on trying their red velvet cake and brisket nachos with slow roasted angus brisket, blue corn chips, roasted corn pico, lime crema, chimichurri, queso, and cilantro.

Brianna H.

Yelp
This is a nice Velvet Taco location. Good food, good staff, and nice seating area. Would return.

Mahauganee S.

Yelp
Overall a good experience. Stopped in for a late dinner while traveling for work. I had one Mediterranean Mushroom taco and an order of Brisket Nachos. both were very flavorful. The taco was a mix of cold and hot ingredients but a perfect blend of flavors. The nachos had everything I love but the toppings were baked on to the top layer of chips, leaving me with too many chips at the end. The bathrooms are single use and clean enough, so no need to govern yourself by the gender suggestion on the door.

Stan U.

Yelp
Cool joint, good atmosphere , with some interesting twists on the average taco. We got the Buffalo chicken, the carne asada, steak and shrimp. All were very tasty, my favorite was the Buffalo chicken. Margaritas were good too!

Marina R.

Yelp
I had no idea how close a velvet taco was to my job! I went here today on my lunch and let's be honest - velvet taco never misses. I love everything I I've had here, today I ordered the #12 & #22. The only reason I gave 4 vs 5 stars was because service was slow and the food took a bit longer than I feel it should. Also a lot of the tables were still dirty not allowing you many options of a place to sit. I feel if those two things were addressed it was guaranteed warrant a 5 star review. I plan to revisit though - because I'm a taco lover for life. Xoxo.

John W.

Yelp
Awesome taco shop right off the tollway in the Addison area! What makes this place great is it's the ultimate late night stop for anyone looking to grab some grub on the weekends. On Fridays and Saturday's, this place stays open till 4am and is always a vibe till close. The staff is always attentive and friendly, despite the late night hours too. The only hold back about this place is the price of their tacos... the quality is there but at the end of the day, I'd take a lesser taco, so I don't have to pay $4-$5 per taco. However, if money isn't an ordeal, you really can't go wrong here, especially if it's after midnight and it's the weekend!

Karima A.

Yelp
These tacos were just amazing! Can't beat the basic flavors! Served hot and fresh! They were mouthwatering yummmm! The blue corn chips were a surprise! Loved those chips with queso! Next time I will be trying shrimp tacos! Already feel like going again!

Tyler R.

Yelp
VT is one of my favorite taco places in Dallas, even amongst the stiff local tex-mex competition. And yes, I know this is a chain. I'm okay with that. I say bring one to Jersey City, please and thank you. I love this location in particular. It's super close to 75, and there's always cars around so it's never quiet, but I enjoy watching the traffic so it's fine by me. It's sometimes annoying to find parking, but that's part of the charm. Most importantly, I love the tacos. You'll definitely find some classics, but there are some really outside the box options too, and I almost always try to get at least something different when I go, but the buffalo chicken (#1) and the Mexi-Cali shrimp (#17) are usually my top two. The third (and sometimes fourth) can be wild cards, but brisket or fish are also high on my list. Pair your tacos with a local beer on tap (or a marg) and you won't regret this lunch (or dinner) decision at all.

Jesse B.

Yelp
Same old same old....nothing has changed. They still totally skimp you with the tiny bag of cracked chips with your chips and queso order. I now have to order THREE extra bags of chips to go with ONE queso bowl, because they're so cheap on the portion of chips they give you. I've now taken to getting extra chips from Tom Thumb instead, so I can use those when the Velvet Taco ones run out, with their queso bowl 3/4 still full. Come on guys....

Travis And Elizabeth N.

Yelp
It's tacos and it's great nothing else needs to be said. Staff is great! Ambiance is movement and noise everything you want is an open seating group kinda atmosphere cool way to not feel alone even if you are, also a great meetup spot. Travis

Anoop M.

Yelp
The food is amazing! With so many different global tacos to choose from, it can be hard to choose. I was with a group of friends, and it's a great place to get a quick bite to eat. A couple of comments: they need to turn on the A/C. The weather was just not conducive to having the windows open - it was too hot. Second comment, the lights over our table were burnt out. Small details, but it matters.

Braden P.

Yelp
Food and service is hands down the best at this location! I accidentally placed an order at a different location, Oscar offered to make up my order so I didn't have to drive all the way to the other location! Thank y'all so much for always being the best, even when it was my fault!

Dorian W.

Yelp
My husband and I were in the area running errands and decided to drop in and grab a bite to eat. I've been to a few of the velvet taco locations and this one was no different. If you've never been here before, seating is first come first served, and you go to the counter to order your food. When your order is ready, they will call your name so that you can pick up your order at the front. We ordered the following taco options: mexi cali shrimp, Chicken and waffle, and Buffalo chicken. All of them were very delicious and you could tell they were made to order. In the past I've had the elote, and chicken nachos which were also great. My husband also ordered a modelo and I snagged a topo chico. They do have other nonalcoholic and alcoholic beverages to choose from (beers on tap as well as bottled beer, margaritas, ranch water, and sangria). This is a great option if you want to sit down in a casual environment for a quick bite to eat!

Bryant K.

Yelp
Great food and service. Loved the vegetarian tacos and a wide variety. Been hearing about the restaurant for several years and we decided to give it a go wasn't disappointed.

Angela C.

Yelp
Excellent fusion tacos! They have so many varieties to choose from and they are delicious! Tacos are bigger than street tacos and are served on flour tortillas (gluten free options available). The WTF flavor (weekly taco feature) was Huli Huli chicken. It was so good, chicken tenders with soy pineapple bbq sauce, cilantro rice and fresh pineapple. If you're looking for a unique taco experience, you'll have to give this place a try!

Caprice F.

Yelp
IT'S TACO TIME!!! I've been to this location multiple times and the tacos are always A M A Z I N G!!!! The service is also always consistently good, fast, and friendly. My tacos of choice here have been the Kobe Bacon Burger (OMG it's so good!) and the Buffalo Chicken taco (EXCELLENT!). I've also had the Chicken Tikka Masala, the Cuban, and the Grilled Flank Steak tacos. All of the tacos are excellent! They also taste like their intended replica, i.e. the Cuban taco tastes just like a Cuban Sandwich. I've also had the chips and queso blanco, which is superb! My only complaint is when I came here for lunch last Saturday, my Buffalo Chicken taco was a little skeet on meat. Normally, the chicken strips are hanging off the edge of the tortilla, but this time I was asking "where's the beef", well chicken. Nonetheless, it was still a great taco.

Valerie V.

Yelp
Pricey...Yes....DELICIOUS AND WORTH THE EXPIERENCE....PRICELESS. I am amazed everytime I walk through their doors at the ENDLESS combimations they offer in a form of handheld goodness [aka tacos] handed by the food gods themselves. Tots are worth it and must when you visit. All you need is 2 to be full.

Melinda E.

Yelp
I'm Visiting.. from Cali and live in Las Vegas . I was very underwhelmed. The food was not that great. The margaritas were strong & delicious but that was about it . I ate the food because I paid for a Lyft & I was hungry. I wish the food taste as great as the decor was. The OK service made up for the food .

Julian M.

Yelp
Food was very good, fresh and flavorful! I don't recommend the corn tortillas but overall food was great, ambiance was great and staff very friendly!

Dulce G.

Yelp
It's one of the best taco places in Dallas/Addison, Richard is always really friendly, Definitely Richard deserves a 5 starts, and the drinks are awesome.

Grace W.

Yelp
Food is overrated, also the name of this chain has to be sexual which is weird... the only people who like this place are bandwagoners who just think they should

Kai L.

Yelp
Update: originally had a 5 star review but we came back ordered to go and the food was very different. Not sure if it was kitchen or to go orders don't receive as much attention but it was underwhelming and disappointing since we loved our first time here so much. To go order would have been a 2/5. Will only dine in from now on. Service was great! Really welcoming and comfortable atmosphere with nice dim lighting. Food came out very quick and was warm and delicious. We will definitely be coming back! Me and my bf favorites in rank 1. Burger taco 2. Chicken and waffle 3. Chicken tikka 4. Reuben And of course you've got to get a slice of the velvet cake. It's delicious!

Bryan S.

Yelp
I love this place! I come to Dallas once a year for work and it's on my priority list. The Tacos are all full of flavor and they never disappoint. I always get one chicken and waffle taco as my desert. The cashier was super sweet and helpful and the food came out pretty quick. It's a super chill place to eat at too. Good music playing but still easy to talk with your friends. For sure check this place out.

Shelli A.

Yelp
Super trendy spot. Ended up coming there after the nearby bunch spot we wanted to try was closed unexpectedly. The menu options are really creative, we tried several of their most popular options. My favorite was the Chipotle BBQ Pork, but least favorite was the Chicken & Waffles, that one was way too sweet for my taste. We also the brisket tots that were tasty!

Robert B.

Yelp
Great variety, fresh and always quick service - this quirky taco shop has taken off but doesn't seem to have let us popularity go to its head. I usually order takeaway since parking is kind of a bummer (and dine-in customers park in the pick up spots - boo to those customers!). The food is consistently good and like I said - the variety is great.

Brent L.

Yelp
I ordered a trio of tacos via UberEats and after tip, it was $20.01 for three tacos (I have got to get over this whole UberEats thing - it's costing me a lot of dough!). My three choices were the following (all were served on a decent flour tortilla): Nashville Hot Tofu - the tofu was crispy, spicy, and just a tad sweet. Topped with a bit of cole slaw and a drizzle of ranch dressing - I loved it this one! Cuban Pig - honey ham, pulled pork, and peppered bacon, topped with shredded cheese - this one was supposed to be on a crisp flour tortilla, but it was just a normal flour tortilla - and I was happy with that. Beer battered cauliflower - bleh - I'll take a hard pass on this one. It had a white queso on top of it and was mixed with a corn based pico de gallo. It sounds good, but it didn't live up to the description.

Tiffany F.

Yelp
I got delivery, so I can't tell you anything about the restaurant, but the food was ready when it was supposed to be. The elote was really good, as was the cauliflower taco. The Nashville hot tofu taco was just okay. There was a lot of tofu and a lot of crema, which overpowered everything else. Both tacos were very filling.

Jay S.

Yelp
Worst margarita I've ever had. How can you put so much money in branding, built out and location and piss in your margarita's? Food was mediocre. Cashier really unfriendly. Overall a bad experience, I would not go back which is sad because the location is dope.

Diane D.

Yelp
I have fallen in love with Velvet Taco! Especially with their brisket tacos! There's others on the menu that I want to try but once I try something that I really love, I have trouble venturing out to try other dishes on the menu. I've now been to V.T. three times on my last visit, decided to try their chips & queso. Turns out they have two different varieties of queso so you'll need to specify which type you're wanting when you place your order. Their chips and queso was very tasty - highly recommend (just wished they offered guacamole). I also tried one of their large margaritas (on the rocks), and it was really good as well. It stacks up to margaritas at my favorite go-to spots. If you want tacos that are delicious and just a bit "out of the ordinary", I highly recommend trying out Velvet Taco! Just writing this review is making me hungry!

Moriah D.

Yelp
This has been one of my favorite spots since I moved to Dallas back in 2013. Once they opened this location is Addison, which is closer to my home, I was so happy and hoped it mirrored all the things I love about the original Dallas (Henderson) location. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. I normally come alone so I always ask that they only call me once so that I don't have to leave my Apple juice & margarita unattended... they either bring it to me themselves or they'll only call me once! I'm soooo appreciative of that! So the good part... the food! My favorites are Buffalo Chicken, Picnic Chicken, and the Kobe Bacon Burger! The last time I went I tried the OMG taco of the week and it was something with curry and it was soooo good but I can't recall the name. I also recently tried the new Mexi-Cali shrimp taco, the flavors were insane! The Elote corn is also to die for! Can't go to Velvet Taco without getting their Bad Ass Margarita & a Martinelli's apple juice from the cooler! So delicious every single time! If you love tacos with a twist, you will love this place!

Ashley V.

Yelp
Stopped in for a late Sunday lunch and was not disappointed. Customer service was friendly and knowledgeable and the food was delicious! I have a pretty hardy appetite, but two tacos and some shared queso was more than enough. The Mexi-Cali Shrimp was my favorite of the two (the other being Rotisserie Chicken) but both were fresh and tasty. The bright colors, cool lighting, and fun aesthetic made for a memorable dining experience! I'm eager to go back and try their "Soup of the Day"

Manvita M.

Yelp
Our go to after midnight place on weekends - open until 4am. The chicken tikka, paneer tikka and the Korean fried rice tacos are yum. The tater tots are really really good

Ryan N.

Yelp
I finally had the opportunity to try out Velvet Taco the other day, and I have mixed feelings about it. Korean pork (4/5 rating) : angry crema, kimchi slaw, pickled fresnos, cilantro, corn tortilla. This was my favorite out of all the tacos I ordered! Plenty of flavor! Cuban pig (4/5 rating): gruyere cheese, slow roasted pulled pork, honey ham, peppered bacon, grain mustard, house brined pickles, crisp flour tortilla. This was delicious and offered plenty of meat! Downside was that it was extremely oily and oil kept constantly dripping out as I was eating it. Rotisserie chicken (0/5 rating): queso blanco, roasted corn pico, charred tomato poblano salsa, cilantro, corn tortilla. This one had a pungent smell - almost as if something was fermenting. I initially thought the smell was from the kimchi from the korean pork taco, but it actually came from this taco. It smelled so odd that I didn't even want to try it because none of the ingredients used on this taco should have this type of smell. It immediately went in the trash and so, I didn't get a chance to take a picture of it. I might come back for the korean pork taco but there are so many other options in the Dallas Forth Worth area for tacos.

Mika S.

Yelp
Employee kept ignoring us standing politely outside the pickup window when it's windy & cold outside. Went inside after 12 minutes of no interaction only to be ignored again until someone outside banged on the window to catch his attention. Employee seemed overwhelmed yet oblivious.

Alexei R.

Yelp
I gave it a 5/5 for the atmosphere, the cleanliness, and quality of food. $4-6 per taco so a little over priced, but tacos are tasty and most of the combinations work. I tried the salmon, the green Chile pork, and the 12. I highly recommend the 12 with the jalapeños. It's really good! Elotes were just ok. If you want good elotes go to fiesta or carnival. Those elite stands do it better. The margarita was strong but tasty, and the fact they have Valentina hot sauce is awesome. Favorite sauce. Come check them out!
