Stopped in here for lunch with two of my coworkers while in Tulsa for business. I had the rotisserie chicken taco, the steak/portobello taco, and chips with Queso. I did not like the chicken taco, the seasoning was not pleasant for me. I loved the steak taco, it had amazing flavor. True chips and Queso were average and just fine. One of my coworkers orders a shrimp bowl which he loved. Another coworker ordered the chicken and waffle taco which he also enjoyed. For the table we ordered crispy tots and Sunny egg. The egg was way over cooked. Aside from that the appetizer was good. The service here was wonderful and the atmosphere was great. My caution is to be mindful when you go. There is not a lot of seating here so if it’s busy, you are out of luck.

Food was delicious as always! We arrived just as they opened so service was a bit slow however well worth the wait! Definitely worth the trip!

This is one of the coolest and most fun place to have tasty Veg Tacos 🌮

The food was AWESOME! First visit & looking forward to returning for trying other tacos! Me & my lunch partner had the combo meal- 2 tacos, a side & fountain beverage/bottled water for just under $15 each. Think the price is high for a couple of tacos? The meal was worth every penny! The brisket taco came on a cheese crusted flour tortilla & OMG, it was so yummy! Brisket was flavorful, the goodies on top only added to the awesomeness! Loved the spiciness too The fried cauliflower taco was tasty too, but didn't care for the hint of sweetness in it. Also, I expected grilled fried instead deep fried cauliflower, but I didn't ask about it before ordering. Loved trying new flavors!!!! My lunch partner had the grilled steak tacos with deep fried onion strings on top. Looked & lunch partner confirmed they were delicious. Vegetarian options are available Only chips available are blue corn chips. While they taste similar to white chips, I would rather have the option for white tortilla chips, but it is my personal preference & nothing wrong with their choice The seating is limited (formerly a long john silvers). Both long, tall tables with bar stools & metal backed chairs were available, as well as a few smaller tables along the walls. Also, they have outdoor seating available. As far as service, payment when ordering is done at the counter & self picked up when ready. Really, there is no service to critique. Bathroom was clean. Parking is somewhat limited in busy times Negative - (reason for 4 stars instead of 5) the noise level. 4 other small groups were dining at the same time & the noise was very loud for the small space. I essentially yelled my conversation until 2 out of 4 groups left. Maybe turning the music down during busier times would help Overall, I definitely enjoyed it enough to return!

The food here was amazing. Only flaw that can easily be added is better Salsa options. Other than that it is awesome 👌. Everything I ate was good enough to reorder if I have chance to swing by. 😋

Google
Great food! Service was great, but this is absolutely my favorite taco place! I highly suggest the chicken tacos for the little kiddos! The person taking my order was so nice, and energetic! I will for sure come back to this place, and suggest it to others!

Google
Very interesting choice of ingredients for tacos, and they were all great!I tried mex scrimp (little spicy but gooood) and weekly choice with asparagus and portobello mushrooms (was also spicy but soooo gooood). We arrived in Tulsa a little late, so we were super happy that this place was open. Very nice experience for the whole family. They have kids many as well, so for those who whine and are afraid of spicy tacos, they have chicken nuggets ;) and cheese casadillas but you can adjust your ingredients over the app when you scan QR code on the table.

Google
The food here was really good and the tacos were very creative. The service was pretty rough though, and I think I caught wind that the kitchen staff was pretty much all new. Definitely try it if you have a chance, and I am pretty sure you can't go wrong with any of their options.

Yelp
Great spot, fast casual at its best. Friendly service, tasty food, good for late night.

Yelp
The tacos were utterly disgusting at this location compared to the one I used to visit in Dallas.

Yelp
Gourmet tacos, tastes super fresh even at 12 midnight. Staff was friendly and nice very attentive. Cute store. I love the menu there is something for everyone. Fish, Chicken, Beef, Pork and Vegetarian options. A must try for late night food. Drive thru can take a while

Yelp
i was introduced to velvet taco during my dfw days. they'd be open late night in the clutch on weekends or i'd check out their brunch before i head back to tulsa. when i found out there was going to be one down here, i was very surprised & was looking forward to it. i've tried a handful of the tacos on the menu (spicy chicken tikka... fried paneer... i usually go for their wtf (weekly taco feature) that comes around at a limited time on a monthly basis. i used all of their sauces. a lot of times when i place an order, i feel like i should've ordered another taco after the fact, i enjoy them. the only thing i'm curious on is if this location does brunch like the texas locations... if so, i'm getting on to that asap.

Yelp
Love the walk in, order and sit down flow. Menu is organized by meat type. I've been here probably ten times and all staff are great. The communal seating at bar height if great but they also have smaller tables. Make sure to try the favorites! If your on a diet they have the cals. Although, not a place to watch those. Especially if you get the moist red velvet cake.

Yelp
Love this place, two tacos always do me good. I love how they switch up the taco options so you can try a new one each time you visit! The service is great, and they've never messed up an order! I've been a few times now, getting take out as well as eating in store. Eating inside is super chill, and very relaxed. Nice place for just a lunch or dinner.

Yelp
I've been to this establishment 2x nows and the tacos have never failed to taste anything but BEAUTIFUL! I was initially skeptical on the many different flavors they had but each one that I've tried was full of flavor and the proteins was a good size too. I will definitely go back again given the chance. Trust me I say this place right here is worth a try. You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
A plus is that it is open late! Minus--cleanliness. It was around 10:00 when we stopped in and while most tables were occupied we found a spot. But, we had to grab a paper towel and wipe the crumbs off our own table. Ordering staff was OK. I ordered a Tikka Masala and a cauliflower taco. The Hubs ordered a Buffalo chicken and a brisket taco. All four tacos came in the same serving tray and nothing was labeled. Of course, we could tell the difference between the cauliflower and the brisket, but we mistook the Buffalo Chicken and the Tikka Masala. (That was OK because the bite I had of the Buffalo chicken was great.) Note that tacos are much bigger than a normal street taco and are stuffed full so they are a bit messy to eat. If you need a quick drive-thru, I would recommend, Not so much on eating in. Probably adding to the "been there/done that" list.

Yelp
I ordered this hearing good things, and I've eaten here before, other Things were really good. But these were the worst queso birria tacos I've ever had in my life. I wasn't expecting authentic, but I wasn't expecting something as terrible as this. The consomé was just pure salt. It had no flavor. One taco had barely any meat in it and the other one was full, so I had to take the meat from that one and put it in the other one. There were no limes or salsa just these soggy tacos not even a bit crispy. There was barely any pickled onion as a topping I barely had enough for one taco. This ruined my work lunch.

Yelp
There was plenty of parking in the lot around the restaurant. The service was quick after you placed your order at the counter. My first bite of the rotisserie chicken taco and I bit into a bone and then my 2nd bite was into a different bone, this definitely took away from enjoying my food. I had the corn tortilla for both my tacos and the tortilla was a bit rubbery. The brisket taco was a little bit better but the GF corn tortilla took away from the good things about this taco. The tots were good but the fried egg should have been over easy so the yolk would have been more runny. If you let the tots sit too long, they get greasy. Overall, not my favorite tacos and won't be back.

Yelp
This place is always content with their food ! I love all the very different and unique types of tacos they have created . If you're looking for authentic this place is not for you l. But if you are adventurous and like trying new things you have to try this place out! Not only do they have their signature tacos but they have a new and unique taco every month ! It's so fun to see what they come up with ! These ingredients they use are awesome and not your gross Taco Bell or Taco Bueno meat. They have really good and fresh ingredients! Please honey this place out !!

Yelp
Super laid back place to go alone or with a friend. I haven't tasted the food yet but delivered it and it smelled soooo yummy. Great staff as well.

Yelp
We decided to try Velvet Tacos since they introduced their Say What combo meal for $14.50 that includes two artisianal tacos, one side and a drink. It is truly a great value for the food quality. Service was quick and friendly. Atmosphere is nice casual.

Yelp
Happy Taco Tuesday to me! and to you! Velvet tacos has an original and mouthwatering menu. The place has a fun and funky vibe. The people are pleasant, skilled, and informative. The food is delicious and the drinks are pretty darn good too. They serve coca-cola products (yay), coffee, tea, iced tea, lemonade, jarritos, topochico, and a limited alcohol selection (beer, hard seltzer, margs, Paloma's, and ranch water). Velvet taco offers dine-in, carry out, and delivery.

Yelp
I love their chips and queso!!!! The service every time I ago was great and the staff was friendly. I enjoy the the decor and atmosphere and it's a great edition to the cherry st neighborhood. I tried their tofu taco which was surprisingly delicious! I definitely didn't expect that from tofu. It was better than the other tacos I tried which were meat. I will continue to go there for my queso and tofu fix. GREAT JOB VELVET TACO
google avatar

Yelp
This was our second trip here. They have gluten free food and I can eat the chips because they are made in a separate fryer! I can even have their queso blanco. Woo Hoo! That's all I really need and could live off of queso but I did it, I ordered tacos. The tacos are LARGE and definitely filled to the brim. Mine was pretty tasty and had poblano salsa on it. The salsa was good but definitely spicy. We went around 11:00 on a Friday night and they were buuuusy. Despite the controlled chaos going on the staff was extremely friendly and helpful with my GF questions. I'm so glad this place is open late hours and offers GF food. Very Noiiice!

Yelp
Thought it was excellent food, we did have one mistake order because of my large group. Customer service was average but overall would go back again.

Yelp
First visit and it did not disappoint. Flavors were amazing! Tacos run $5-6 each, which is pretty pricey, but they are loaded. We also had nachos and Queso...blue chips and curry queso and it was a hit with my son....but it was another $6. Margaritas are pricey, about $11 for an 18 oz plastic cup....but good. We had 2 and that bumped our tab $22...but it was hot, they were cold and refreshing....but it is a taco place where you can get a margarita soooooo Open late! Key for weekend food craving! Service was super friendly.... I get thrown off when I order food, don't have a server per se, and they ask for a tip when II tipped in cash...but felt weird because I had to pick up my food...something to consider... Good flavors, but not cheap, hence 4 stars.

Yelp
So I learned Velvet Taco is a chain out of Dallas, TX and this is their first Oklahoma location. Being a popular new spot on a busy corner at the entrance of Cherry Street means parking and finding a spot to seat yourself may be a challenge. Be prepared for this when you visit. Now with all this said, welcome to a trendy little taco shop! There is counter service only here so be ready to know what you want to quickly figure it out. They have menus available to look at on the wall and pick and read. Be sure to check out the taco special of the week. The ladies at the counter were super friendly and helpful. Good customer service is a big deal to me!! The ordering process was pretty simple overall and l liked the help in making a decision I received. Random note, I also liked that had a few local craft beers available to order along with the Jalisco sodas! Now into food! I had a plate of nachos and 2 tacos. This was more than to share a few bites with friends and also get my tummy full! Food quality is high here and also comes at decent value. Sure it costs more than Bueno or Bell but the quality is exponentially better! This kind of spot speaks to my soul as it's quick, delicious, trendy and fun, but for me this is a spot I'd come back to for lunch. I prefer table service for dinner time. That would be my only draw back and is not in anyway a hit on the business.

Yelp
We visited velvet taco for the first time on 3/9/24. It was quite the enjoyable experience. We tried several different tacos and enjoyed them all. The star of the show is the nachos! We are excited to return and try all the other tacos and sides. Yummy!
google avatar

Yelp
Had a very enjoyable lunch. The red curry Queso was delightful!! We actually had more Queso that chips which is unusual. Definitely would have eaten more of that! We shared the fish and chip, Cuban, falafel, and beer battered cauliflower taco. Sadly, they were out of the Korean fried rice and green chili pork. The falafel taco came in a lettuce wrap and was our least favorite. The falafel was great, but the rest just didn't work for us. The cauliflower taco was pretty good and is a great option for vegans. The fish and chip taco was an absolute delight. Very fresh, bright, and light. Our favorite was the Cuban, it was pretty perfect. We chose to sit on the covered patio while it rained pretty heavily, and it was just great. Definitely will go back.

Yelp
I used to live in Dallas before moving back to Tulsa and while in the Big D, I came to appreciate a good street taco. I was elated to find that Velvet Taco has a location here! The food is every bit as good as it was in Dallas and the atmosphere of the restaurant is comfortable. I went in the early afternoon and was the only customer there, so that's probably why it felt so laidback. lol The workers were super friendly, too, which has been my experience at all Velvet Taco locations I've visited. This place rocks!
google avatar

Yelp
Love velvet taco. Great choices and different variety. Tofu taco is delicious. Good options of sauces. Cheese dip is yummy.

Kewuan N.

Yelp
The only thing I would change about this place is the price it's a little steep but the ingredients kinda make up for it My favorite is the buffalo chicken taco and the beer battered cauliflower taco The loaded tater tots are also
google avatar

Ethan B.

Yelp
I did order this as take out and eat it about ten minutes later. Furthermore this is hands down the best food I have had in Tulsa so far. The Cuban pig was extremely unique and delicious. The brisket nachos were the big hit for me they were absolutely delicious and if you put a few jalapeños on them they are phenomenal. Last of all the red velvet cake is delicious and a great choice for desert. Pricier meal with around $6 a taco but you only need 1-2.
google avatar

Ryan C.

Yelp
We ordered online and picked up at the window around 2am. The app/google doesn't let you set a time after midnight or before 5am so that was weird and caused an issue during pick up, but the staff was aware and made it work. Tacos were good! Definitely not Mexican, but they're tacos. They have so many great options from lots of different cuisines. The meats were tender. The sauces are 1000% where the flavor comes from. The serving size is legit and plentiful and worth the value. We also got free red velvet cake? That was random, but still tasted great.

Carine U.

Yelp
We don't have Velvet Taco where we live. Oh my! We visited the Tulsa location and the food was was incredible! I had this (a side dish at +1000 calories!) as my meal: Crisp tots & local egg* (GF) † herb goat cheese, smoked cheddar, avocado crema, chile butter, peppered bacon, scallions | 1050 cal. The flavor is so intense! Every bite was something to savor. The tater tots are smothered in all of the other ingredients listed and the whole thing is topped with a sunny-side up egg. They will make it to order, however, if you prefer to leave out some of the ingredients. My husband had this: #16 Fish n' chips beer battered cod, curry aioli, french fries, malt vinegar, napa slaw, flour tortilla | 350 cal. It too was delicious, but the portion was a bit small. You'd need at least two and maybe three of these to fill up. The vibe is very informal. We will definitely look up Velvet Taco in Tulsa next time we are there and will keep an eye out when we are in the area of their other locations.

Yelp
I have been here several times now and tried what seems like half the menu. Whit that being said my favorites are the ranch water and the # 8.5 green chili pork taco. What also keeps it interesting is the monthly rotating menu of tacos. Never the same and always something worth trying. I have also done the to go catering orders a few times and the individual taco boxes with a side are such an easy and an economical option. For being on the edge of cherry street they are easy to get in/out of the parking lot and there is always room to dine in or on the patio as this place is a decent size. With the plethora of taco shops in Tulsa this one is worth a try next time your feeling like tex-mex!
google avatar

Shelly F.

Yelp
Left to right: #17 Mexi-cali shrimp, Pork and #9 Pork & Shrimp Egg Roll, #7 Cuban Pig, ##1 Buffalo Chicken One of my favorite places!! Love sitting outside and we brought our dog!
google avatar

Ashley T.

Yelp
It's a pretty good place. Has a Texas Corporate vibe. Nothing wrong with that. The food is absolutely delicious. I have just eaten a lot of tacos in my life, it's a hard industry to compete in. The staff is very nice. The place is really clean.
google avatar

Elizabeth S.

Yelp
Velvet Tacos are amazing! I could eat them every day. It's a really cool restaurant and I like the outside eating area.

Yelp
The elote is the bomb!! Raven was amazing and offered several suggestions on tacos. I now have a new fav!

Yelp
First time at Velvet Taco last night... pretty good experience! I always love more interesting versions of foods, so when I saw the menu full of fun taco flavors, I was happy. I ordered the chicken tikka taco and the Buffalo chicken taco. Of these two, I definitely preferred the tikka - great flavor, the sauce is what makes this one for sure. The Buffalo chicken definitely wasn't bad, but I'm not sure I'd order it again. Though I enjoy bleu cheese, the flavor of it was a tad too much within the overall balance of the taco. I also felt like the Buffalo sauce was quite vinegar-y/ tart. Sometimes I like it like that, but I feel like especially given that it was a taco, it could have had a bit more of the hot flavor come through. The chicken itself on both tacos was great... very tender and juicy! Also tried a bit of their queso and elote. Both good but nothing crazy. Though I did appreciate that their queso had some extra stuff/ sauces in it so it wasn't just pure cheese (not that pure cheese is a bad thing!)! Also they get extra brownie points for having one of my favorite hot sauce brands available. Mmmm!!! All the workers I interacted with were very nice. I like that they don't close the lobby until 11, so it's an option if it's a bit later.

Abbey C.

Yelp
Best service even at 9pm! Zee runs this place and does an amazing job. (PERIOD) Highly recommend!
google avatar

Desiree L.

Yelp
Sooo good!!! My only complaint would be the size of the building but it's so worth it that it's okay if I have to eat in my car lol. Luckily we were able to get a table but the line gets so busy it's insane! They have a drive thru as well so that's a good option! The angus brisket taco is my absolute favorite omg! It's soooo good!!! We tried a few different tacos and none of them were left behind! So my advice is that if it sounds good to you, try it! It's very unlikely that it'll disappoint. Make sure to add the brisket taco if you eat beef! Omg! The margaritas are also pretty good!! This is perfect for date night at the park or in front of your TV! Use the drive thru and enjoy!! If you can catch them before or after peak hours I highly recommend eating there (just in case you have to order more ) because tacos and nachos are so much better enjoyed fresh from the kitchen! Brisket Taco 10/10 Brisket Nacho 7.5/10 (wish it had a little more toppings) Buffalo Chicken Taco 8.5/10 Shrimp Taco 10/10

Yelp
Good food, great atmosphere, service was great. Easy to order and food was ready in a snap.

Yelp
I used to go to dallas just to get velvet taco. Really glad that there's a branch here in tulsa now!!! Manager was accomodating and the staff were friendly!!! Really love this place. The place looks good too!!! Would recommend this place big time.
google avatar

Robert L.

Yelp
Tried several of their Tacos and their margaritas and everything was tasty. Quick service. Easy to order.

Lynnet P.

Yelp
This place was so fun! Great atmosphere and tacos are really good. The curry Queso is unbelievably good.
google avatar

Erin L.

Yelp
This has quickly become one of our favorites spots to eat at in Tulsa. The menu is diverse (with lots of vegetarian options). Everything we have tried has been divine! You can't go wrong with any of the tacos on the menu. Some of our favorites are the Chicken Tikka Masala taco, Mexicali Shrimp taco, Green Chile Pork taco, and the Cauliflower taco.
google avatar

Tabitha B.

Yelp
Omgosh this place is soooo good! I am usually pretty traditional when it comes to tacos- I don't really branch out beyond my usual carne asada street taco order. However, when they had their soft opening special going on I decided it was a good time to try something new. I am so glad I did because I was beyond impressed with the results. Velvet Taco is where it's at, y'all! That Cuban pig taco- so yummy! And the red velvet cake, too! So moist and sweet. Definitely a new Tulsa staple for me!
google avatar

Chris D.

Yelp
A bit pricey but very tasty. Don't come here for authentic Mexican steet tacos, or for Tex Mex. Their wheelhouse here is soft tacos with an experimental, global feel. My favorite so far are the chicken tikka tacos--I can't come here and not get em! Another staple for me now is their red curry coconut queso & chips. A friend recommended it to me and now I'm hooked! Tacos are a good size, they are open fairly late, seating area is a big small, though.
google avatar

Precious G.

Yelp
Shrimp and grits, Kobe bacon burger, Korean fried rice and Cuban pig (in that order), with the nachos, local egg tots and queso blanco dip with chips. Okay now for the review. So I literally begged my other half to take me here. We are both foodies who love tacos. So anyway everything was good, kinda greasy tho but I won't knock a star for it. Everything tasted just like it's name. Remember it's Tex mex not that real stuff you buy at a taco truck around 31st and Garnett. It's good tho, I would go about once a month. Great location too.
google avatar

Kevin B.

Yelp
I have only begun to explore this food experience; however, it was a very tasty taco. The pricing is fair as long as you are not looking for an enormous amount of food for under $10.00. The service was fine and the ambience was the neat. I do look forward to going back and exploring the Watch seems to be wide variety of a menu. I do recommend this for somebody who is looking for a smaller portion of the meal, but still wanting good quality. This would be perfect. If you are trying to watch your weight and still want to enjoy a wide variety of flavor I will post to give after my next adventure there..
google avatar

Rahul S.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious. I live in Chicago and have had VT several times out there. But only had it twice in Tulsa and I have to say it's better here!!! The paneer tacos actually have crispy paneer which makes a huge difference. Better value and delicious food. Gotta come and make it 2.

Yelp
After trying a different taco place last week I was a little hesitant to eat here. Torchy's wasn't good so I was thinking this might be a similar fail but I was pleasantly surprised. I got the rotisserie taco and it was a delight to my tastebuds. We also got the queso, a Korean taco, picnic taco, fish taco and the red velvet cake they were all incredibly good. I also got the kick ass margarita and it was a margarita nothing special but it was decent.
google avatar

Katie D.

Yelp
What a great experience! We went to the invite only soft opening and they had people from other locations there to help. The service was great. We were told what to expect which was helpful. We each got two tacos and a drink. My husband got the brisket taco and the Korean fried rice taco. I got the picnic and the chicken and waffle. They were all wonderful! I especially loved the chicken and waffle and would order it again and again. We got the Paloma and margarita.. they were good but a little sweet. Excited to have this great new place (with a drive through) close to us!

Yelp
For our first Tulsa visit, my husband and I both ordered the #12 and two other tacos. It'll be hard to beat the #12 and its cheese crusted flour tortilla. The filling--a mixture of finely diced avocado relish, micro cilantro, queso blanco--is perfectly refined and paired with the barbacoa style brisket and red chile mayo. It is such a good taco packed with complex and fresh flavors. I recommend not tampering with it, because each bite has been thoughtfully crafted and put together with something only similar to love. For my second taco, I ordered the #3 which is the spicy tikka chicken. It is one of their most popular items and I would go as far as calling it a crowd pleaser. The #3 is definitely worth trying and has perfect the spice level--not too much for the less tolerable palates, but easily made hotter with Velvet Taco's heat sauce.

Yelp
I loveeeee this place! I crave their Mediterranean Mushroom taco!! It's always so good. I've eaten two of their WTF, the shrimp po boy amd the bulgogi walking taco, Yum! Their Beer Battered cauliflower and Sweet Chile shrimp tacos are amazing! I'm gonna make my way to enjoying all of the fish and shrimp tacos eventually! I always get the Heat sauce, although each of the tacos have their own flavor and never disappoints. I've also had the Red Curry Coconut Queso and it's delicious!! The Queso Blanco and Elote are also two of my faves!
