I came to Ven for dinner without a reservation on a Wednesday. They were very friendly and found me a table next to the counter. The dining room is ok, as one would expect. Service is very friendly, but a bit inexperienced at times. The food is solid, well prepared, but nothing exceptional. Again, it’s probably what one would expect. I had the goat cheese starter, followed by a carbonara inspired pasta and the duo of scallops and prawns. I didn’t want to think too much about the wine and decided for the standard pairing: it was based on German white wines and it fitted its purposed. Overall, a good experience for a Wednesday evening.
