Yelp
This was the old Little Anita's! We decided to go out for dinner, and were in a tizzy because we have so many favorite places. But then we realized that we hadn't had delicious Mexican/Tex-Mex food in a while, since My Neighbor Felix was meh.
So I looked on Yelp, saw this place, looked at the pictures and read some reviews. Decision made! BF was afraid that this was the place with the screaming baby, where they're always mopping and banging the metal chair legs, but it isn't.
This is a small place, with a few outdoor tables (you can't bring alcohol outside). The menu is simple. There are fountain drinks, including unsweetened iced tea, yay, Jarritos, beer, and bottled margaritas. You order and pay at the counter, and you get a flag for your table. Service is cheerful and smiling.
We had the quesabirria, a taco plate, chips with guacamole and salsa, and a chicken quesadilla. The quesabirria came with a hot consommé dipping sauce. OMG. So rich! So cheesy! So delicious!! So FILLING. We got the order of 3, and I barely managed one. The quesadilla was good. Cafe Rio is still the champ. The tacos were a decent size and yummy. BF really liked the rice and beans, declaring that the seasoning was perfect. The guacamole and pico de gallo were really fresh and delicious.
We're so happy to have found and tried this place! It certainly isn't fancy. But the food is terrific. We'll be back :)
