I expected SO much more from a place in Vail Village. My girlfriends and I were having a mountain trip for the weekend and stopped in to Vendetta's for lunch and it was just overall not good. We walked in and were greeted by a gentleman who said we could sit where we wanted. We sat in the front by the open doors since it was such a beautiful day out. Immediately a lady walks up to us with another patron and said we couldn't sit there because she was seating that lady there. We mentioned that the guy at the front said we could sit anywhere and she turned and looked at him and said really? He shouted 'My bad' back to her. The other patron said it was no problem for us to sit there and she would take the table next to us. She was the only good thing about this experience. We thanked her and sat down. The lady that worked there told us that if we sit in this section then so and so was our server, but if we moved over to the high top tables then someone else would be our server. We stayed where we were and had no clue who she was talking about.
Our server, Francisco, came over and handed us menus and took our drink order and we also asked for calamari for an appetizer. We waited quite a bit for our drinks which we could see were sitting at the bar for a while. I almost got up and grabbed them myself. But then Francisco finally brought them over. We ordered our meals. Two of the girls ordered a pizza to share, one got a cup of chowder and the other ordered a side salad with no tomatoes, my other friend order a chicken parm sandwich and I ordered the primavera pasta with no carrots. Carrots sounded very weird in this dish to me. We finished our drinks and then he shows up with the pizza. No calamari, no soup, no salad. We asked if we could check on the calamari and get another round of drinks. He said yes and walked away. He returned with the salad, soup, the sandwich and pasta and walked away. No silverware. We had to go get some at the bar. No marinara for the chicken parm sandwich, had to go get that at the bar. The side salad was covered in tomatoes and my pasta was FILLED with carrots and no broccoli like he hit the wrong button. he finally arrived with our 2nd round of drinks as we were half way through our meals. I asked him if he could cancel the calamari since it still hadn't arrived and he said he forgot to put it in. FORGOT! I get that happens, but after I already asked about it you would think to either mention something then or ring it in. Hello?!? Wow, so I picked the 40,000 carrots out of my pasta and put them on the rim of the bowl and ate everything else. Sadly, the pasta would have been really good with no carrots and had the broccoli like it was supposed to. I mean for an $18 basic pasta dish I would have expected more. All of the food was so-so and obviously the service sucked from beginning to end. I will not be dining here again. I have had better luck at Sweet Basil and Slope Room. I'll stick to those places.
