"Venezia’s expansive Italian menu and views of the Boston skyline make it Dorchester’s marquee waterfront dining experience. Go for the Sicilian seafood salad and stay for the lobster cacio e pepe. It’s readily bookable for events, too, including weddings. Follow dinner with a trip to Boston Harbor Distillery or Boston Winery, each mere steps away from the restaurant." - Celina Colby, Eater Staff

"This waterfront restaurant in Dorchester does brisk wedding business, partly thanks to its beautiful skyline and water views. The menu features plenty of Italian American classics, from chicken parmigiana to veal saltimbocca. After your meal, hang out at Boston Harbor Distillery next door." - Erika Adams, Rachel Leah Blumenthal

I have photographed several weddings at The Venezia and it is always stunning! It is a hidden gem in terms of photo locations. The skyline and scenery make for a perfect backdrop for any couple. The food is outstanding but most is impressive is the Venetian dessert table! The staff is also wonderful. They are kind, attentive and efficient. I know I am in for a fun night of work when I have a wedding at the Venezia. @alirosaphoto

Went for coffee and dessert after a wine tasting at Boston Winery where they served apps from Venezia as part of the pairing. The apps were very good. We sat in the bar area and service was good. Our server was very attentive without being too annoying. It was a Thursday night, so not many people were in the bar area. Very upscale look and clean.

THE SERVICE: Hostess provided a friendly greeting, confirmed our reservation, and then escorted us to our harbor view table. Waiter arrived shortly thereafter introducing himself, and then orienting us to the menu as new customers. After ordering refreshments we were served complimentary warmed focaccia bread with a delicious herb butter crust. All food items arrived well timed and at the perfect temperature. THE FOOD: The Crab Cake appetizer had a nice flavor profile, but the texture was too dense reminiscent of a salmon croquette. Although a tasty bite, you’ll find yourself searching for the crabmeat and missing the traditional Maryland style preparation. The Chicken Risotto was cooked to perfection. Every ingredient was complimentary lending to a delectable standout bite- compliments to the Chef. THE ATMOSPHERE: This restaurant achieved the feeling of being invited into someone’s home for a special meal. I appreciated the scenic views and hospitality. My table-mate and I easily conversed as we were not competing with loud music. I’ll note, I dined mid week so the experience may differ during peak times. THE VALUE: Excellent price points for the quality of food, service, and location. Onsite parking with ample spaces- huge bonus when dining in the city.

Been here quite a few times for work functions and a few times personally and it’s always just for the atmosphere, to be in the water. The food is just so-so and the portions are so small. Again it’s definitely priced just for the atmosphere. The bartenders are nice but the last waiter we had did not want to be a waiter.. barely provided service, and smelled like he lived in a dumpster.

The service and attention to detail was appreciated. The bartender got my drink wrong and not only did he fix it. He came over personally to apologize. It was that extra stop that made me feel seen by the staff. They actually paid attention to the reservation details. They were aware that we were celebrating a birthday. For my first visit, I would definitely go back.

The Venezia restaurant is directly on Boston Harbor and has a large spacious dining room with great dockside views. We were on our way to see Steve Miller perform at the Lynn Auditorium in Lynn Massachusetts and this was a convenient place for dinner before the show. We were a party of three and we started with signature cocktails during the bread service. The cocktails which were excellent and we ordered another round with dinner. Next we ordered and shared two appetizers, the Eggplant Bake and the Lobster Martini which were superb. The Lobster Martini was light coated in a cilantro crème fraise and was perfect. This was followed by two salad, the heirloom tomato Caprese Salad that was shareable and a Mediterranean Salad which included roasted pine nuts which were delicious and a nice touch. For entrees, I ordered the Baked Haddock which included a bread crumb topping with mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus. It was delicious and satisfying. My companions split the Tortellini Primavera but asked for vodka sauce instead of Alfredo which the restaurant happily accommodated. The chef split the dinner for you and served each portion on separate plates. The resulting portion size was perfect. For dessert we got the Tres Leche Berry Cake and Lemon Sorbert and they were easily shareable with lots of sweet and tangy goodness to go around. Based on our consensus view this restaurant is earned a 4.67 rating. I highly recommend it.

Beautiful place, good location with nice views and free parking. Service was amazing, and all the employees were so nice and professional. The only thing I didn't care for was the food. I'm not one to add salt to food because I don't like salty food, but they didn't put any salt on anything. I've never had clam chowder that's I didn't like. That's my go-to anywhere I go. Here I was highly disappointed.
