Overall, our dining experience was nice. The staff were friendly and professional. The food was good as well. One note, the portion sizes were generous for the prices. The standout is the actual venue as it has a great design inside and out. The only critique I have is that our waiter checked on us once while we were eating, but then we didn’t see him again for a while. We basically sat around waiting after we were done eating for him to come back and had to go ask someone else to get him to come. When he finally showed up, he already had the check and takeout boxes, which we planned to ask for anyway.

Our service was wonderful, we ordered an appetizer and three entrées. My husband’s duck was excellent, and our son’s spaghetti and meatballs was great it was just as tasty the next day! My blackened redfish was flavorful and nicely portioned, though I felt the price was a touch high for the overall quality and pairing. The wine was fantastic, and the patio, paired with soft live music, made for a surprisingly comfortable August evening in Texas.

I don’t think the menu has had a significant change in 30 years and that’s not a good thing. My pasta arrived with underripe tomatoes, greasy, stiff in some places like it had sat under a heat lamp for way too long, and soggy in others from sitting in a puddle of tomato flavored dish water. Would not recommend. The decor is dated and some of the chairs are in bad shape, but the outdoor atmosphere was quite pleasant, and the staff were helpful and congenial.

Food was wonderful! I had the eggplant parmesan with roasted carrots on the side, and the carrots were my favorite 😍. Everything was well seasoned. We will definitely be coming back!!

My fiancé took me here for my birthday and we had such a lovely dinner. The service was accommodating and very friendly from the start. The food tasted great, and the atmosphere had a homey feel. If you love wine, they have an amazing selection. I would definitely come back for the reasonable prices and how great everything came out!

Everything about Venezia was great during our visit! We made a reservation and were able to be seated immediately upon arrival. Our waiter Ruth did not hesitate in bringing our drinks and helping us with the menu options. She was awesome! Our food was prepared quickly and accurately. I don’t understand how people can complain about the lack in taste when it’s an Italian restaurant, they don’t season and spice your food like every Hispanic restaurant you visit in the south. Personally, we loved the taste of Venezia and were able to enjoy a new variety of combination of textures and flavors. One last note on the food: Venezia is the only restaurant in Midland/Odessa where I’ve ordered a medium rare steak and actually received a medium rare steak! The dessert was nothing short of delicious, I even told my wife that I want to order an entire German Chocolate cake from here for my birthday! We were expecting to pay twice as much as we did and we’re fairly surprised with how low the bill actually was. All in all, it’s a great restaurant that I can’t recommend enough!

Google
Nice upscale Restaurant ordered a Tomahawk great Place for a date. Must go for anyone wanting to wine and dine. Make Reservation prior to arrival or your not getting in. Outstanding service Try going it’s worth the experience.Baller status only. One other thing missing is some music.

Yelp
The atmosphere is great, really beautiful inside nice for a family gathering! The food was good but pricey for what we ordered. The service was good but not quite genuine. Will probably return with family sometime.

Yelp
The best Italian food in midland, I am a big fan of this restaurant. As a pasta and seafood lover, I can honestly say this was very delicious! We were a group of 6, and the service was outstanding! The waiter never let our glasses go empty and was there anytime we needed him. The food itself was delicious, and you could taste the fresh ingredients. I had their Red Fish with crawfish and shrimp topping - flavorful and sooo good! The restaurant itself was clean and well decorated, had a relaxing Mediterranean vibe. I am a big fan!

Yelp
We had the best experience. My daughter and I decided to have a date night. We had it all appetizers, shared a Ceasar salad and she had spaghetti and I had Cajun shrimp pasta. Then we hit the deserts hard lol. We had strawberry cake & butter rum cake with ice cream! Everything was to perfection.

Yelp
On a quick trip through Midland and Venezia was recommended by a friend. Our waiter was attentive and helpful with the menu items. The interior looks dated, but that doesn't really take away from what we were there for - food! I kept it pretty traditional and ordered the lasagna. While the flavors were there, I felt the portion was a little on the light side. On the flip side, my wife ordered the Stuffed Chicken. I immediately knew I had been out ordered. The chicken was rich and flavorful and the portion large. We ended up with a To Go Box and a delicious snack for the next day. Overall, a good experience, but wasn't enough for the fifth star.

Yelp
Great food and I love the environment! The escargot was to die for!!! Great for a Friday night dinner. Waiter was friendly and very fast

Yelp
This was our second visit here. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary. Food was impeccable, yet again!! Our sever was attentive (don't recall his name ). Nevertheless, he did a great job. Everything looked freshly prepared and the food came out quick and it was a Saturday evening with 6pm reservations. Needless to say, we will be back again in the future. Love this place! Atmosphere and ambiance are always wonderful too.
google avatar

Lannette A.

Yelp
The Romain was cold & crisp, the wine was good, the bread didn't taste fresh even ordered the garlic bread and that wasn't very good either, the pasta was hot and the meat sauce was ok, the added sausage was over cooked & crisp, the service was attentive, nothing makes us want to go back.

Yelp
Great options that aren't often commonly found in Midland. I would come back to try something new, but it didn't stand out as spectacular in my opinion

Yelp
I LOVED the ambiance and atmosphere. Inviting, warm, classy. Lots of family, double dates, meetings, and you can just tell by how busy it is on a Monday night. Reservations recommend but not required. The decor inside is wonderful! The pasta portion is hefty, good portion size, everyone's meals looks amazing. Great wine selection at a great price too! Would recommend!

Yelp
Date night at Venezia tonight. Great atmosphere. We had the rack of lamb and grilled quail. Both of which were cooked to perfection as always and wonderful. Our waiter was attentive and pleasant. He brought us a sample of a duck pasta dish that was the best homemade pasta I have ever had. Perfectly balanced flavors. Finished off with our favorite Tiramisu. Thank you Venezia for a fabulous dinner. As always you do not disappoint.

Yelp
Good Food, Awful Service. Went for a birthday dinner last night - table of 13 at 7PM. The party had fully trickled in by 7:15 but 6 of us arrived at 6:50. We had not been spoken to by a server & had to go and find one to order drinks at 7:20. The waitress was so overwhelmed & slow that our food order wasnt taken until 8:20 & food didn't arrive at the table until 9PM. Then with dinner our party wanted to continue to order drinks & were told "well, we closed at 9 so I'll see what I can do" .... After our food didn't arrive until closing time (2 hours after we arrived). They did end up making us drinks, which was nice. When we requested our checks I saw that when I ordered a "tequila soda with grapefruit" the server rang in a $40/drink tequila. I did speak to the manager and get that removed and they were very kind about it. The server immediately said "I didn't know which one to choose, I didn't choose it because of the price" which made me really think that she did.... TLDR - the servers need much more training to get food orders taken & served, guests should not be made to wait 2 hours for food then feel guilted that the restaurant is closed. I will not be returning with a large party again. Also, they auto-grat large parties which made me feel like that's why she rang up a $40 tequila & didn't care much about service. Food was good but not worth the trouble, I'd recommend Fuoco or Italian Village instead.

Yelp
I've been to all the Italian restaurants in midland and by far This is my favorite. The food and sserservice is consistent. I always get the sea scallops & seafood pasta. If they run out of the scallops, i usually substitute it with the prawns. the lobster sauce they used for the pasta is amazing. Definitely a great place for a date nite. When the weather is nice, on the weekends they sometimes have live music in the patio area.
google avatar

Raquel S.

Yelp
The place was very unique. The service was superb and the food was delicious. I love the extensive wine menu. I started with the escargot appetizer. Perfectly prepared in a butter and goat cheese sauce served with focaccia to soak up that delicious butter sprinkled with fresh parsley. I enjoyed my goat cheese salad. It was fresh, tangy and sweet with luscious pears and crunchy nuts. My main course was the lobster ravioli. Very rich and satisfying. A perfect meal. My waiter was professional and available. I will be back.

Yelp
Atmosphere is the only reason I gave it two stars , it was beautiful inside BUT Food was not good at all No flavor Very greasy Bread is hard Not worth the money at all!

Yelp
Been in the military for 18 years and all around the U.S. no place comes close to Venezia. The atmosphere is so cozy and fitting for Italian. Our server was so awesome and attentive during our visit. And lastly the food is absolutely incredible and very reasonably priced! Will return here every chance I get.

Yelp
Updating my review now that I've been in Midland for two years. We come here at least once a month! And we are out of town every other weekend! Venezia is THE best restaurant in Midland. Our friend group comes here to celebrate birthdays, engagements, promotions, you name it. We come just to hangout with each other and eat delicious food and drink the BEST WINE SELECTION! You honestly can't find this selection at most steakhouses in Dallas. The menu is large enough that you can find something for any type of eater. The DAILY SPECIALS is where I order from most, they are the only ones I EVER order seafood from! Though their service is slower (typical for Midland) and calamari is hit or miss, they've made amends and also make up for it in many other ways. Make a reservation, come and enjoy a wonderful three course meal with your significant other, family or friends. Love you Venezia

Yelp
When we first arrived we needed a reservation so we had to wait 30 min to be seated since we didn't have a reservation. Which is fine understandable. 30 min later I had to call to see if we were going to be seated. She said she forgot to reach out. Once seated, took 10 minutes to see our waitress. I asked the waitress for her recommendation between this plate and another and this was recommended. I will definitely not be asking for recommendations again. Not creamy at all, it was on the sour side. Probably my first and last visit here.

Tammy L.

Yelp
This is usually a great bet for a date night or special occasion. However the experience i had last night was not what i have come to expect. The atmosphere was welcoming. We were seated quickly to match our reservation. Staff was pleasant, the flavor of the food did not hit the mark. There was no WOW! Not to mention typically when you are dining at an Italian restaurant you are offered Parmesan cheese, but this did not happen. As I watched the tables around me I did not observe anyone being offered Parmesan. I will go again as it is one of our go to for special occasions, I just hope next time they are back to their awesome style!!

Yelp
This was my second time here. First time was in mid-2019, and I had a good memory of the food but I honestly did not remember what I ordered. Went into this experience with high expectations - was kind of disappointed overall. The appetizers were OK. Calamari was good, thinly battered and not chewy. Fried shrimp were OK - honestly I didn't think the quality was much better than frozen. Bruschetta toppings were good, but the bread got a bit soggy under the weight of the toppings and could have been toasted more. The veal parmigiana entree was not good. The veal was tough and difficult to cut, the tomato sauce was too watery, the cheese didn't seem like it was melted thoroughly. The broccoli was flavorless mush. The cocktails were the shining star of the evening. The old fashioned was perfectly made. Just to enjoy their cocktails again, I will go back to give them a chance on a steak or a seafood dish.

Yelp
We have been here twice now and it is easy to claim that it is my favorite restaurant in Midland. I lived in Albuquerque for ten years before moving back to the Midland/Odessa area to marry my now husband after I was widowed and it has been hard to adjust during COVID to find great new places around us. Come to find out, this was also my parents' favorite spot for date night when they lived here! My husband has ordered the ribeye as well as the fettuccine Alfredo. His favorite? Both. You literally can't go wrong with anything here. Both times that we have come the chef has had scallops with seafood pasta on special. I LOVE scallops BUT I cannot have the seafood pasta because the broth for it is premade with shrimp and I am deadly allergic to shrimp. So the chef is my hero and makes a special pasta just for me with the scallops from the special but on the linguine alla checca! Let me tell you something: this special pasta is the best thing I have ever eaten in the world and I wish I could recreate it at home! I have many medical conditions that make it hard for me to eat much and I often get sick due to most foods. But this is something I can eat and keep down and I will keep pulling the leftovers back out for more! It is a medical miracle from me and basically the only thing keeping me off of going back on the feeding tube! It's the best thing that has ever happened to me and I just wish I could afford to eat it every day!
google avatar

Lauren J.

Yelp
Stacy. This is the husband speaking now; In regards to your hazard concern. I am an engineer well aware of the international building code and NFPA 101 life safety code requirements for assembly occupancies and the minimum egress (aisle width) of 42-inches. The area we were sitting in was substantially greater than this minimum requirement of 42 inches. If your waiters have a tendency to trip over people that is a different issue other than the "hazard" you allude to. We were more than willing to move. The issue we are highlighting is the manager's attitude towards us and his unwillingness to accommodate with ample accommodations. We tend to roll baller when we dine and this restaurant staff made it clear that this is not the type of place that is capable of accommodating high end cliental.

Lianna P.

Yelp
dominic Fernandez was excellent. He shines as bright as the stars in a hot summer night: my husband is in love with him and I can see why.
google avatar

Yelp
Just OK...and for the price it should've been fantastic. The bread was dry, cold, and tasteless. Blah bread is an immediate letdown, especially for an Italian restaurant. My food was fine, but not the least bit memorable. Our dessert was dried out and just left a "bad taste" in my mouth for this restaurant.
google avatar

Yelp
45 dollar seafood pasta made me sick. It was on a Saturday so you'd think it would be fresh. But hell no, they put me through a miserable night. You'd think 45 was enough that they wouldn't be willing to risk using old seafood but I guess not. Then I about puked again the next day when I opened my fridge and the wall of putrid decaying seafood smell hit me like an anvil. It's clear they used expired/turned seafood and I suffered for their greed. One star for the waiter, as he was excellent and provided exemplary service. If you think paying 45 bucks for seafood shouldn't make you sick then steer clear from this place. I mean I know it's west Texas but for that much you figured they would be flying in fresh seafood. But I guess it meant more to them to save a few bucks by using spoiled seafood than to ensure their customers don't become ill. Td:lr paid 150 for a "fancy" meal just to become violently sick. Will never return, dine at your own peril!

Yelp
We had a reservation for Saturday night, by 7ish there seemed to be a wait at the door to be seated so we were glad we had made a reservation. The atmosphere here is really nice, very classic and romantic. Bread and butter was served as we read the menu. The butter was in a plastic cup which seemed unnecessary. The bread was also cumbersome to cut up ourselves but was very fresh. We both got items from the chefs special. The rice with the red fish was bizarrely undercooked and crunchy inside still, but the fish and asparagus were cooked perfectly. The jumbo scallops and seafood pasta were phenomenal. I don't think I've ever had pasta that tasted so good! I could have used a pasta spoon for twirling though. The tiramisu was just ok but the rum cake was the real star of the night; huge, hot and boozy! We also had the lemon drop martini which was too sweet for me; and the mad men old fashioned which was a very good old fashioned.

Ada G.

Yelp
It sounds like you had high hopes for the meal but were let down by the quality, especially for the price point. Hard bread and margarine instead of butter can be pretty disappointing, especially when you're looking for that nice touch in a nice atmosphere. Did any dishes stand out as particularly good or bad, or was it all a bit underwhelming?
google avatar

Elizabeth B.

Yelp
great atmosphere and such a beautiful dining experience! the food was perfect. our waiter was eattentive. went for my birthday and will definitely be back soon!

Amanda P.

Yelp
Ambience is great. Food was good, we had the wedge salad, goat cheese salad, large scallop with seafood pasta and the penne with lobster brandy sauce and shrimp. The flavors were great, I took off one star though because all of the seafood was pretty over cooked. Still tasty and will be back. We ordered orange cake and a tiramisu to go and the orange cake was ok, a little dry and the tiramisu tastes pretty-made, like it was literally still frozen. Lastly I will say it feels like our waitress was just trying to recommend the most expensive things we asked about. We asked for recommendations on a few different things and without hesitation she said the most expensive dish we asked about with no explanation or info. I'm still giving three stars but overall there were some issues with all aspects of the evening.
google avatar

Sheena P.

Yelp
Ambiance is amazing and the food is extremely delicious. I had the linguine Milano and a glass of wine and the portion was so big I had to take it home. Believe me when I say the leftovers are just as good as when it's fresh! Our go to Italian!

Alley R.

Yelp
Better rang of sides instead of the same mash and asparagus. Drinks are good and service was excellent! Very nice old fashion Italian restaurant on the inside felt like i was in Italy with all the pictures and the music.

Andrew B.

Yelp
First off the food was great, I had the Ribeye and Lobster- the lobster IMO was a bit over cooked but the steak made up for it 10 fold. To bad we didnt find this little hidden gem before we are getting to leave, my friend had the Spaghetti and Meatballs and he was very impressed with the simple meal. You can taste the passion these guys put into it. The Service was great never had a low water cup or missing anything. The ambiance was relaxed and great to hang out and talk with your party. I highly recommend this place and if more time allotted I would definitely be going back. Keep up the great work Venezia... oh almost forgot the Tres Leches and the Tiramisu really really good...

Caleb B.

Yelp
The service was good. The environment is rather old and dirty. They served us raw garlic with our bruschetta caprese salad. An attempt at Italian food that rams too many items on the menu and does not understand basic culinary law.

Lisa P.

Yelp
Don't waste your money. I have been waiting to try this place for years and I was overall disappointed. Our waiter was very nice and the decor had a cute charm but a little outdated. At our table of 6, nobody was happy with their meal. The fettuccine alfredo was flavorless, the steak looked and tasted like it had been cooked in the oven, the lamb was overcooked, and the salmon (although a decent sauce flavor) had an odd color and left my family member feeling ill all evening. For a bill over $300, we would have been better off going to literally any other restaurant. Safe to say that this was my one and only visit.

Brenda F.

Yelp
Made reservations a week ago! And received a text message yesterday to confirm it-and I did. Very disappointed that the receptionist couldn't find my name for reservations and we were not seated in the area I requested. However, when we left an hour later the same 2 tables that no one was sitting at were when we arrived (on time-6:30 pm) still vacant. We always come for our anniversary and this was our 49th year and maybe the last due to an upcoming move. It broke my heart

Yelp
Our favorite Italian in Midland and a gem in the area-especially the Specials Menu. Check out the Fresh Catch. Also, any pasta dish can sub your favorite pasta or vegetable. If they can make it or have it in the kitchen, they will do it for you. Their drink and wine menu are extensive as well. We love the bruschetta-its a unique twist on the traditional and served warm so expect that when ordering. We love this restaurant. Everything is cooked to order so come with some time to relax and enjoy the ambience. There are 3 different areas to sit. We have also gotten food to go and enjoyed pasta at home-equally delicious. Chicken Milano and Fettuccine Alfredo are sensational. I like the Alfredo with angel hair personally. Our oldest likes it with chicken and shrimp. The cakes were a bit dry in my opinion as a baker, especially for the price. I would say stick to appetizers over dessert. I am usually full, but one day we took a few home. The only one I liked and recommend is the cheesecake. Overall-the pasta takes the stars at Venezia! They do Italian WELL!

Yelp
Mother's Day Celebration Epic Fail. It wasn't a great experience, we went here to celebrate Mother's Day, to be fair, make sure you can get a good waiter/waitress, my Wife and I decided to try this Italian Restaurant even though we saw lots of negative feedback from google and yelp. They have us seated at the far end end of the restaurant, our server is named "RUTH", maybe she is not having a good day that is why her service is SUPER TERRIBLE, I would give ZERO STAR for the Service if there is an option for ZERO, the long wait is not worth it, we waited 27 minutes before the house bread comes in (we know because we were taking selfies when we got seated so we got the time stamp on the phone), another 23 minutes for the appetizer and salad to arrive, what adds up to the frustration is, Ruth haven't given us any utensils to use to eat the salad and the crab cake, we needed to get the attention of somebody else to get some forks for us to start eating, we waited another 22 minutes before the entrée arrived, we are about to stand up and leave good thing the food arrived already, at this point we already loss appetite and just decided to put it in the ToGo Boxes and just leave, not to mention Ruth forgot to bring my drinks and my kid's bread, I end up going to the reception to ask for my receipt so we can pay and leave because we know it will take forever again to get some help. I also want to call out that we were the first table to arrived in the far end of the restaurant but the 3 other table near us got served a lot faster, way faster, also their waiter checks on them from time to time, but us, we end up just my family and 3 glasses of water most of the time, it was a very bad experience, we felt like we are being neglected, we felt very small that moment, we will never come back to this restaurant.

Allen B.

Yelp
Best Italian restaurant in Midland in my opinion. I just wish they were still open for lunch.
google avatar

Sheri J T.

Yelp
Great meal, FAST service, excellent wine list. Reservations are a MUST! No dress code per se, but if you wear a Tshirt &/or shorts you will get a head to toe look of disdain from the hostess!

lan l.

Yelp
Gave this place a second try and was extremely disappointed. The service was extremely slow both times. The first time we ordered veal, lamb and escargot, which were all super salty. This time, I figured I would order just a simple chicken alfredo pasta, and it was basically boiled chicken with flavorless alfredo sauce. Even the store bought jar sauce had more flavor than that! My friend had the lasagna and let's just say it tasted like chef boyardee beef ravioli in a can from childhood.
google avatar

Ellis P.

Yelp
I would reccomend sitting outside if the weather permits. the inside kinda gave me a weird vibe but the outside patio is great! The fettuccine alfredo has no flavor in my opinion but everyone elses food was amazing. Seafood in Midland??? i know right! this is the place to go. The patio has great live music and is not too loud. Highly recommend for a date night!

Trevor M.

Yelp
I've eaten at Italian restaurants in London, Rome, Chicago, and I can safely say this is by FAR THE best restaurant of this cusine I have ever eaten at in the last 30+ years! The wait stafe are always friendly and efficient, and if ANYTHING isn't quite right with your order (RARELY happens), they will immediately remove it and cook a replacement and wait until you have tasted it to ensure your satisfaction! The menu is varied and outstanding; the desert selection is to die for; the ambience is excellent, and the final element is that one wall is almost ENTIRELY taken up with a wine rack! I have never seen that before, and as one reviewer said, the choice ranges from reasonably priced single glasses to $1500 a bottle! Are there other Italian restaurants in Midland? Yes; is this THE best one? A resounding YES! Only slight issue as someone else said you can make a reservation, turn up slightly early and have to wait 30 minutes after the reserve time to be seated, but the wait is definately worth it!

Yelp
This was our first visit to Venezia. We enjoyed the atmosphere and ambiance from the soft lighting and classic Italian décor. Started off with the Mad Men Old Fashioned which was very good. Our waitress was attentive and available. We ordered the Burrata Appetizer which was excellent. The flavors were fresh and vibrant. I am obsessed with the shaved garlic and perfectly dressed tomatoes in this dish. I ordered the Chefs special of Halibut Alla Veneto which was baked halibut finished with a lobster brandy cream sauce, shrimp and fresh tomato. The presentation of this dish was a little messy looking, however the incredible flavor of this dish made me not care about the presentation. The fish was cooked perfectly and the lobster cream sauce complemented it well. It was served with tender pasta topped with parmesan cheese and a bundle of wonderful smokey bacon wrapped asparagus. My husband ordered the ribeye which he claimed was also perfectly cooked and delicious, this did not stop him from eating half of my halibut dish and vowing to come back and order it tomorrow. We ordered the Tiramisu for dessert which was delicate and the flavor well balanced. Our waitress brought it out with a candle and Happy Birthday written in chocolate on the serving dish to celebrate my birthday which was a nice touch. We are looking forward to coming back and trying the rum cake and other menu items. None of the menu items that we selected were "just okay", from the attentive personable staff to the lovely ambiance and the wonderful food it was a world class dining experience.

Russell B.

Yelp
This is the worst restaurant I've ever been to! They didn't have any of the wines listed on the wine list. The hostess said that all the tables were booked, sat us in a corner but there was only three people there. And, we had to wait 15 minutes for them to search for wine to not have any of the three bottles selected available! Don't waste your time if you are interested in customer service and a pleasant dining experience.

Carissa M.

Yelp
The food was exceptional. Great wine list and the staff were attentive. Bruschetta was a little too salty, but the entree made up for it!!! Linguini Milano was creamy and the portions were generous for the price!!!! will come back.

Alex-Nabor M.

Yelp
my waiter dom Fernández was very handsome and always made sure i had a great experience.

Yelp
Consistently good Italian food! We ate there last Friday night, which happened to be a beautiful evening for West Texas, so we sat on the patio. They had live music, which was a nice touch. The avocado appetizer is topped with a lobster bisque type sauce, it's to die for! They do have a large wine list and chocolate martinis! I had the veal parmigiana and my husband had the grilled quail. It's pricey but top notch for Midland. My mom always gets the chicken Florentine when she's in town.

Andrew S.

Yelp
The Lamb chops were surprisingly delicious. The ribeyes were fabulous. The halibut was better than we ever had. And the tiramisu was to die for.
google avatar

Georgia L.

Yelp
This is what's left of my meal. I heard great things about this restaurant coming from Dallas for a business meeting--needless to say I was very disappointed. My Veal Marsala was very salty. When one of my business partner at dinner told the waiter he responded interesting normally folks tell me the veal piccata is too lemony. Really!! Not even an offer to correct my meal or suggest something else. Will not be my first choice to dine at on future visits.

Lisa B.

Yelp
Beautiful building with great food and superior service. Pricey, but always worth it!
