It's a stand at the bar kinda place but swankish, I mean they have really nice wood countertops to eat at. We ended up here after trying the tycoon across from it for dessert. Ended up taking some empanadas to go. We tried two veggie and two meat. We thought the veggie were better but all were tasty, we liked them better than the ones in the ferry building. I'll go back to try the other's.

Google
A great spot to grab a quick bite to eat. The Mediterranean Empanada was quite tasty and is a good vegan option.

Google
Great empanadas! Take a few, ask to hit them up and take the elevator to the roof top park .

Google
Nice option in fidi for a quick & hot meal - flaky crust was perfect. We enjoyed the creamy mushroom filling the most!

Healy Jones

Google
Great empanada options - lots of veggie ones and some good beef ones as well. Good little wine list also! Get them to go and head up to the park for lunch.

I was skeptical when I saw the empanadas were reheated in a subway-sandwich-style oven, but I was quickly won over. My ham and cheese empanada tasted fresh and flavorful, while the chipotle empanada wasn't my taste but was still quality. I'd recommend skipping the small side of green herb and oil sauce, and asking for more of the orange tomato-y sauce. The sangria was average quality (mediocre wine and not much sweetness) but it was VERY generously portioned for $9. Those with a weak tolerance to alcohol shouldn't finish the cup. There are bar seats around the edge of the restaurant with a view of the food court, and there's nice music. It's also not busy in the evening.

Google
I must say that I didn't experience the same level of satisfaction with the empanadas as I have had at other establishments. Furthermore, I couldn't help but notice that the restaurant was facing a shortage of staff, resulting in a delay before someone could assist me in placing my order.

Google
Great spot for a quick meal. Wide selection of empanadas to choose from.

Yelp
Nice little place at the salesforce transbay terminal. The place seems lovely with its decor and colour. I had enough time to kill before leaving to the east bay so wanted to try this new place. They have plenty of meat and vegetarian empanadas and they heat them up for you as you pick. The empanadas do run a little small compared to local competitor. I had the Argentinian beef and the ham&cheese one and a freshly squeezed strawberry drink. The drink was very fresh and not overly sweet. The empanadas were good but wish they had more flavour. The breading was very thin. Overall tasty and you're given chimichurri and a red/orange sauce. Service was direct and with a smile. If you eat there you get your food brought to you. Montgomery BART station is near. MUNI buses 5 and 38 buses being you to the terminal.

Yelp
Have been meaning to stop by here for awhile and finally did! So glad because this 5 pepper manchego empanada hit the spot, especially with the tasty orange sauce and chimichurri! I will be back for sure! I took my order to go (a couple mins to heat up) but the inside was cute and the cashier was very nice.

Yelp
Venga Empanadas is a staple for empanadas in San Francisco. If you are looking for empanadas, you should definitely stop here. They have a wide range of options for the empanadas and I have tried a few of them. I tried the Argentine chorizo this time and really did enjoy the meat. The sauces that I got were also delicious. Heads up, that as with any great empanada, it's a little messy, but that's what makes it great. The locale is a little small so more than likely plan to get in, get the food and head out. Lastly, for an afternoon snack, I was able to get my food quickly and it was done in a matter of minutes. I loved that they communicated time and were ahead of it.

Yelp
I stumbled upon Venga Empanadas while walking by the Salesforce Transit Center in SF's Financial District. Literally a hole in the wall, the restaurant mainly consists of a large display case with a wide variety of sweet and savory empanadas. While I usually get my empanada fix at the Ferry Building, I decided to give Venga a try to see how it compares. Once I placed my order of a Five Pepper and Manchego empanada, it went straight into the oven to melt the cheese and toast the outside to a nice golden-brown. (Note: Make sure to ask for the sauce on the side - the tangy chipotle sauce cannot be missed.) This was one of the best empanadas I've had in the city. The pastry shell was buttery and flaky (neither soggy nor dry); the filling was loaded with flavor from the peppers; and the tangy chipotle dipping sauce took the empanada to the next level. Even though I was satisfied after eating one empanada, I kind of wish I ordered another, since there were so many flavors to choose from. I'm definitely adding Venga to my rotation for delicious grab-and-go lunch options in FiDi.

Yelp
Ok the guy behind the counter was right. I shouldn't have shared lol! But I wanted to be good and watch my portions and I knew we were going somewhere for dinner. The gentleman behind the counter was super helpful and had some amazing suggestions. They have some delicious fresh flavors and variety. Grab a few and the cookies to take upstairs to Skypark and enjoy the scenery with this wonderful savory treat!

Yelp
Ordered some lattes. They were very watery so we ended up tossing them :/ I'm sure their food is better.

Yelp
One of the few businesses open at the Salesforce Transit Terminal. They offer an overwhelming array of empanadas that are heated fresh to order. Though I clearly had some favorites among what I tried, everything was tasty. Argentine Beef: Had a lot of taste surrounding the small granules of ground beef. Thought the red peppers were especially nice. Though after having other empanadas here, I think I prefer the chunky beef ones to this. Salteña Steak: Hearty chunks of steak contrasted with pungent olives. Loved all the texture in this since it felt like quite a meal. Aji Gallina: Not to be confused with Peruvian "aji de gallina". No creamy sauce, instead the star is the generous amount of nicely spiced shredded chicken. Though well spiced, not particularly spicy hot. Ham & Cheese: Comfort food, like a Hot Pocket! Big cubes of salty ham and lots of cheese. Only problem is that the cheese busted through the bottom of this empanada. Which is strange since the other cheese-centric empanadas I tried maintained their structural integrity. Argentine Chorizo: Not sure if I've had Argentine chorizo before. But to me it tasted more like Italian sausage than Mexican chorizo. Which is perfectly fine, since it's very yummy with all those peppers. Spicy Beef: More nice chunky beef cubes, for a hearty chew. The potatoes seemed a bit bland though, might have preferred if they just doubled up on peppers. Caprese: Liked all the cheese and herbs. Did quite taste like a caprese salad since the sun dried tomatoes obviously weren't juicy nor did the basil taste very pungent. But still quite enjoyable. Three Cheese & Walnuts: Really great for vegetarian! The mozzarella and jack gave it an intense creaminess while the bleu cheese gave it a nice intensity. Seemed a little sparse on the walnuts, but that's fine since I was here for the cheese. Alfajor: Just as it should be, dry buttery cookies and rich dulce de leche in the middle. Perfect if you save this to have with a little afternoon coffee. Sweet Empanada: So I ordered a Banana & Caramel, even said it twice. But I'm certain a got the Apple. It wasn't bad for an apple pastry, but disappointing since I wanted a caramel fix.

Yelp
At Venga Empanadas, I had the pleasure of savoring their Argentine Beef empanada. The natural ground beef, onions, red bell pepper, and hard-boiled egg created a delicious blend of flavors. The chimichurri sauce added a refreshing zing, while the chipotle sauce provided a smoky kick. It was a delightful culinary adventure.

Yelp
Been here twice now. First time was last month. Solid empanada!! I've only had them a few times before so I have nothing to compare until last week when I tried a place in SSF. Wasn't as big. Price was the same. So went back here this week and picked up a half dozen before closing. The lady that helped me was super nice and patience since I couldn't decide. She put them in a box and labeled the location of where each was placed for reference. Very nice cozy location which I thought would jack up the price but $5.50 seems to be the going rate elsewhere. Will definitely be back at least once a month.

Yelp
[4.2/5.0] Great place to stop by while visiting the Salesforce park. Speaking of Salesforce Park, tell me it doesn't have Westworld vibes??? Anyways, these empanadas made me feel human again for sure. They claim to be the first empanada shop in SF and I'm not so convinced, but they do serve some scorching hot empanadas and they are very scrumpdillumptious. Spicy beef went stupid and the salsas was the perfect partner for them. Their tango mango drink was great as well, sweet at first and followed up by a nice bitter aftertaste. Go Venga!

Yelp
My coworker ordered a bunch of empanadas for the department. I had the Argentinian Beef and the Gauch Chicken empanadas. I liked the beef empanada. It was well seasoned, and also well filled. The pastry was wonderfully made. It was buttery and flaky. The Gaucho Chicken was fine. The chicken was a bit bland, but the pastry was really good. My coworker who ordered was a little disappointed. He said this wasn't the best batch he ordered from Venga. I'd say that my experience was 3.5 stars. I've had better empanadas, but the pastry here at Venga was top notch. I'd like to try them again.

Yelp
You can smell the deliciousness from around the corner! The perfect size and plenty of variety of flavors! I always order 2 or 3. The crust is super crispy and given the variety, they have the yummies mixes between them all. Savory and sweet!

Alice L.

Yelp
The Argentine Beef empanada is excellent. I don't know what the little sauces are that come with, but those were yummy too. The tea is an awful mix of super bitter and slightly sweet, not good for me.

Yelp
I feel like they're a little bit overpriced. The food is OK, but didn't get the sauce when I got my food.

Yelp
Came across this hidden gem on my way downtown and couldn't help but pop in! Such a cute, clean and yummy shop! I tried the Ham & Cheese, Argentinian Beef & the Aji de Gallina - all 3 were to die for. My favorite was the Aji de Gallina, the flavor was very authentic and paired great with the chimichurri sauce. I also had to pick up some alfajores - let's say they didn't make it home Overall 10/10 - great food, service and drink options.

Yelp
Love this place best Empanadas in San Francisco. Right inside the Sales Force Transit center. Great selection of flavors and fresh juices. Awesome friendly customer service.

Noah W.

Yelp
Awful customer service. I ordered online after work before I had to catch the bus. When I arrived, the employee told me he never received my order. He suggested I accidentally placed my order at their other location, which was accurate. All he offered was a weak, "I'm sorry... We get that complaint a lot." He did not refund my money. He did not give me any food unless I ordered and paid AGAIN. I showed him how on their website, online orders went to the other location by default and customers would have to double check fine print to determine that. The employee was totally indifferent. I left with no refund and no food. I paid $20 for nothing. If that happens "a lot," it seems common sense they should try to fix that? Or perhaps have some standard protocol to be rectify the issue, like issuing a refund or providing the ordered food? Awful service. I will never be back.

Yelp
Easy, fast, delicious. What more could you ask for? I always get the gaucho chicken and ham and cheese empanadas. I love the beef ones too (specifically the spicy beef) but I try not to eat too much red meat so I get the chicken instead now. They are always perfectly toasted and fresh tasting and the man at the counter is super friendly and nice. A great lunch spot - especially on the weekend when everything else nearby is closed!

Yelp
I absolutely love their empanadas! They are located at the Salesforce transit center and it's really convenient to grab a quick bite to eat when you're rushing. The first time I came here, I ordered two empanadas- spicy beef and mushroom. I was eating it ravenously on my commute home. It came with sauces and I believe the spicy beef one came with a chimichurri sauce. It was delicious! Please don't ask me to choose which one I liked better because I was hungry at the time and they were equally delectable. I returned today for some to-go (it takes 4 minutes to warm up in the oven, and I didn't have time to wait and still make it on my bus); ordered a five pepper manchego (manchego cheese and 5 different peppers), saltena (skirt steak, hard boiled eggs) and a couple of cheese bread balls (omg, how could I NOT?!). I can't wait to get home and warm these babies up so I can post an updated review.

Yelp
This place is SUPER good. I work nearby and randomly stumbled in here on an evening walk around the office. The empanadas are the BEST tasting ones I've had - better than La Mar, Limon, and this amazing empanada joint I went to in Barcelona. There's a ton of flavors (like 10+), they can be ready in under three minutes, and the person who works here is super nice. The ambiance is also really nice!

Yelp
both the argentine beef and chicken are very good, but I was shocked in myself that I preferred the mushroom and cheese to both of them, maybe its the cheese... and the sweet banana empanada is dangerously good. I could eat 4 in a row. one thing to note though- they do come out piping hot, so you will have to practice some self control not to devour immediately.
google avatar

Alexandra B.

Yelp
The empanadas are delicious. Simply amazing. They serve them with a side of hot sauce and chimichurri if you order them to go. I tried the chicken and also the vegetarian spinach one. Both of them were very tasty and the flavor of the crust was one point. This is a great location for trying some authentic empanadas. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Tasty gourmet empanadas sold by lovely people. I ordered 60 for a party. They were a huge hit.

Yelp
deliciously flavorful empanadas with high quality ingredients - have tried both this location and the mission one and both are great. sauces on the side pair super well definitely don't leave them out! empanadas are all ready in display case, just wait a couple minutes for them to be heated.

Yelp
Some of the best empanadas I've tried. Had the Argentine beef and the Saltena beef, crust was light and flaky. It didn't hurt that Argentina-Croatia was playing which was so appropriate. Highly recommended if you are anywhere near the Transit Center.

Yelp
4/5 this makes a good quick lunch if you're around the area. the empanadas were flakey with the right amount of filling. they are accompanied by chimichurri typically and it pairs well with the empanadas. it's affordable, delicious, and convenient. 2-3 empanadas will surely fill you up and for less than $15! argentine beef 4.4/5: this was recommended by one of the workers and i can understand why its one of the most popular options. gaucho chicken 3.8/5: it was a little lacking in my opinion in comparison to the argentine beef.

Jessica C.

Yelp
Great empanadas! Grabbed a couple of these on my way back home from work and boy should I say these were delicious! Crispy and flaky dough on the outside and flavorful, tender chicken and beef on the inside. The place had friendly service and an inviting atmosphere. Oh and did I mention the empanadas come out nice and hot from the oven? Well they do and they're delicious!

Yelp
Super kind service and the most amazing food!! I got the spicy beef empanada and omg so so good! (also don't skip out on the chimichurri and chipotle salsas it adds the best flavor)

Yelp
My office ordered Venga today. I ordered the white bean soup and 2 spicy beef empanadas. Together, this was totally filling. Great flavor & perfect portion size. Would highly recommend!

Yelp
I got the Argentine and the spicy beef empanada. It was hot and delicious. Highly recommend for quick bite. Very satisfying!

Yelp
Great little spot in the Transbay terminal. Open everyday. Delicious empanadas with a wide variety. Friendly Argentinian staff. Get the empanadas hot or take and bake yourself. Delicious either way. Many meat and vegetarian choices. Dulce de Leche choices for dessert. Some beer wine and fernet available. Definitely worth checking out.

Yelp
Empanadas were tasty and fast. Stopped in here for a bite and a beer while waiting for my bus.

Yelp
Hidden in the transit center on the ground level, this new empanada spot is fantastic! Perfect place to grab dinner to bring home. I picked up the following: Argentine beef, aji gallina, and five pepper manchego. I asked for them to be unheated and carried them home on the transbay bus. Popped them in the oven at 450 for 10 minutes. Perfection! I can't chose a favorite flavor. This will definitely become a regular stop for me.

Milla c.

Yelp
We only tried the Argentinian Beef Empanadas and they were so fucking goood. They were warm, crisp and juicy. The chimichurri and chipotle sauce they give you are also sooo goood. The staff speaks Spanish and English, they were friendly and attentive. Go try these empanadas bitxh!!!

Jasmine L.

Yelp
I love love the cheese and walnut soo good. I love the hot sauce and the pesto. I will definitely be back for more!

Sidney G.

Yelp
This place is incredible! They have so many awesome options for every diet and the empanadas are truly amazing.

Yelp
Ordered mushroom.... Got spinach. I'm allergic to spinach:) Super disappointing visit.

Yelp
Stopped by on my way back from Salesforce Park. Very tasty empanadas - crisp crusts and yummy fillings. I only bought two and wished I'd bought more. I got mine cold and heated them up at home. Definitely will be returning.
