This Culver City gem features irresistible Mexican sweet breads and a tempting menu of breakfast and lunch favorites, including standout chilaquiles and hearty huevos rancheros.
"Similar to the "Creative Director" you matched with last week, Venice Bakery is also a multi-hyphenate. This bakery-restaurant-café hits the mark on everything from its hearty huevos rancheros to the large pan dulce selection that includes an exceptionally moist Salvadoran quesadilla. But the real reason we wander into this Culver City spot on Sunday mornings is for the Super Chilaquiles Divorciados (the emphasis on super feels appropriate.) If you dread deciding between red or green chilaquiles, relax. Here, you get a 50/50 split of the two. The salsa verde packs a tart tomatillo bite, and the salsa roja comes with plenty tomato-y sweetness. These chilaquiles also come with modification options, like spice level, protein add-ons, and eggs in the style of your choosing.
