"Venisalvi is the sort of place that you stop into when it’s raining outside and you happen to be passing by. You’ll have a snack and a glass of wine while you wait out the rain, and you’ll probably think to yourself, “Hey, this place is pretty nice.” This is a tiny wine/bar cafe on a stretch of 38th Street that doesn’t have many neighborhood spots like it, and it’s good for a drink or a casual date night." - bryan kim

Excellent on every aspect, high end atmosphere, food is out of this world. Mediterranean Cafe in the middle of the city . Owner was very kind took time to explain origins of the whole concept.

Gabby my waiter was super awesome. She hooked us up with off the menu peach margaritas. She gave us super service. The cheese plate was awesome too. The wine bar is small but super cute place to hang with a few friends.

Hidden gem. Expected Italian based on the name but it’s Mediterannean influence. Hubby had the breakfast special of 3 poached eggs in a thick tomato sauce with crusty bread. I had the very savory kabob. Served with a chopped tomato and cucumber salad. Great friendly service and nice jazzy music.

Very cute, quaint spot that wraps you in warmth. Food was good (only got salad can't really judge), service great, small bar but we'll chosen. Coffee was on point!! Dessert almond croissant was awesomely flakey and buttery. Would recommend, but only got a.sallad and the croissant so... Find out for your self

Great simple, authentic, cozy without pretense. Great European espresso, not hipster american espresso. Good food. Inexpensive but great quality. A little oasis in a desert of cheap chains and take a way bodegas with bad food.

The food was incredible, Chef Luis Santos blended Mediterranean flavors in a delightful NY style. The somellier Guillermo recommended a couple of different wines that paired perfectly with the best pricing I've seen in NYC

I was pleasantly surprised to find such a nice, tranquil place in such a chaotic area of NYC. A lovely location with a great menu. The staff was just so great and I enjoyed my meal and drink. I would highly recommend this others.

Small cafe, with delicious food and an attentive staff. Perhaps a little pricey for a sandwich, but the flavors worked beautifully together. I highly recommend the grilled chicken avocado sandwich. The red pepper chutney really makes it!
