A Washington Heights original that roasts coffee and brews beer, Vennture doubles as a neighborhood living room with cribbage nights and pop‑ups. Covered by OnMilwaukee and Milwaukee Magazine, it’s as much community hub as caffeine stop.

Wow. This is a special coffee shop on Wauwatosa’s east side that feels like a one-of -a-kind for Milwaukee. Appointed with local goodies (including artwork), string lights, and boardgames, Venture is perfectly unpretentious. The coffee is phenomenal and supplemented with high quality Sassy Cow dairy. Try the Cuban cortado this summer!

Google
Coffee AND beer were both fantastic! So rare to find a place that cares so much about the quality of their drinks, and the espresso drinks are made for people that want to taste the coffee and not just pure sugar. This was well worth the visit and our new favorite spot!

Steven Schmelzling

Google
Great mix of coffee and beer and Cocktails. Went there with our hot pass and really had a great experience. Bartender was a lot of fun.

Google
Coffee shop and taproom, great combination. Delicious coffee and pastries. They serve beer at any time so I also tried some of their beers at 10:30am , they were all tasty. They had a lot of beer cans available to go as well

I love the tea experience and service here . Unfortunately, on this day, I brought a friend in for tea and where we sat, ants were everywhere. I started looking around and noticed, all of the floor was filthy. Like, never swept! Even by the tee-shirts where there is no food!!! We were dealing with the flies already but figured they come in with the customers but no, uncleanness seemed to be the cause.

Google
The atmosphere was clean, spacious, and inviting. No overpowering music or overly distracting decor. I was served a pour over with kind service. My friend enjoyed a drip coffee. We were both grateful for the speed of service and atmosphere. I saw a high chair for kids, it was wheelchair friendly, and I was able to park right across the street.

Google
Unique concept, vibe and ambience. Friendly service. We ordered coffee and sat at the high top indoor/outdoor area. Coffee was top notch. It was nice to enjoy the breeze at the garage door seating. We’re not beer drinkers, but the option to indulge in either was pretty cool. I was hoping for a nitro cold brew, but iced was the only cold coffee option.

Google
Some of the best beer and coffee in Milwaukee. The beer menu has a couple of great staples, and a rotating variety of beer that has something for everyone. The coffee is roasted in-house, starting with high quality green coffee imported from small growers around the world, and roasted in a way that maintains the distinct character of each coffee, making the pour-overs a new experience each time. They also have deliciously creative lattes, which my wife appreciates.

Yelp
Updating my review. I didn't realize i have been here before and i must say this is now my favorite coffee shop!! The drip coffee is strong and delicious. I can order it with syrups as well :) I absolutely love the selection of pastries. The guava croissant is hands down my favorite and i look forward to coming here just for that pastry. And of course the almond croissant is scrumptious. High recommend.

Yelp
What a hip coffee shop and brewery in West Milwaukee with a welcoming feel. Once I walked in the barista tended to me right away. I ordered a lavender latte with oat milk. It came in three sizes options at 8,12,or 16oz. Highly recommend lavender flavor if you like floral flavors. You could sit at the bar and sip some Coffee or beer or regular seating for socializing, studying, working, or reading a book . Maybe even play board games with you friends as long as it doesn't take up too much table space. Dare to venture out west with Vennture and you won't be disappointed!

Yelp
Legit obsessed with the coffee and chai lattes here. It's about a 1 mile walk from my house, so I earn my fix! Love the space, lots of sun comes in the ample windows (that open to let in a nice breeze when it's nice out!). Beer and bakery are great, too, and it's a great location right next to Ruby's Bagels so you could have a one stop breakfast shop in the Heights! Took one star away because it has to be noted that service is indifferent at best- on some days almost.. hostile? Certainly never friendly. I come a LOT. So I waited til I had like 3-4 of these experiences before I could fairly come to this conclusion (I really wanted to be wrong and say it was a one- off) and I've talked to several friends that agree, unfortunately. Thankfully the coffee is good enough to overlook the baristas' countenance

Yelp
This place has good vibes! Lots of seating and super cute inside. The employees we interacted with were both so kind, too! Just got a pour over coffee but it was very good. I'd love to come back for a beer on their cute patio!

Yelp
Venture Brew Co is a really unique and cool brewery/coffee shop. They have a killer rotating beer list (you have to try the Critical Adjustment - Tropical Stout). The coffee drinks are also really solid and they have some bakery items to munch on. The background music is a great variety of genres. Simple decor. Really chill place to enjoy some coffee and/or beers or to post up and get some work done. They also do some live music in summer in the narrow alley next door. They make coffee. They make beer. What else do you need in life?
google avatar

Ronni J.

Yelp
During the nice weather there is great outdoor seating around the corner. I love the grab and go inside as well. The coffee was pretty delish, it's like the barista had a love child with a bartender. Inside is clean, medium amount of seating. Street parking. I'll come back for sure!

Yelp
Being originally from somewhere that had cafes regularly open til 10pm, it's hard to find a good cafe that's open past dinner-time. Vennture is a cafe by day, brewery by night and I'm here for it. Aesthetic interior, lots of outlets, free wifi, decent amount of seating. Great place to do some work/study, hang out, play games. Staff are super nice. Great pour overs and cold brews. Parking is street parking. I came on a weekday afternoon so it was easy parking, not sure if its busier on the weekend. Will definitely come back to try their beer some time!!
google avatar

Alek Z.

Yelp
They're a bit on the pricey side ($7 for a coffee), but they serve quality. Wide variety of sweeteners and non-dairy creamers. Friendly service.

Yelp
Tl:dr - coffee for your daytime, beer for your nighttime (or slightly later afternoon - it's 5'oclock somewhere) I first wandered into this place looking for a workable spot for remote work. I'm often out and about for my job which leaves me in a lurch needing some WiFi and a cool place to hang. Enter - Vennture Brew. Chill staff, good coffee on hand and during the day you can see quite a few people hosting business meetings there or working on projects via a computer setup up. When work gets too tough or you're just ready to switch to something a little stronger, the place has an amazing line of IPA/NEIPAs and some barrel-aged beer on tap. My personal favorite is AM/PM which is an oat ale with coffee and coca - an 8% that's a perfect sweet treat to pair with AMAZING HATCHED BAKED GOODNESS. Yes, Vennture has teamed up with Hatched bakery which is legitimately one of the best bakeries around! The Hatched owner is a small business owner you often see at farmers markets that makes the best pies, hand pies, cookies, scones and something magical called "pie fries." Vennture was very wise in pairing those delicious baked goods with everything/anything it's brewing up. A little brew will do ya and I'll be a visitor of this place for the foreseeable future. Keep at it Vennture!

Yelp
We were actually at their new Brookfield location. We got the north ave pale ale and the critical adjustment stout. There was a party going on in the larger part of the brewery so sat at the window. We will be back to try their coffee and sit on their patio in the warmer months. Comfortable for smaller groups and familes.

D L.

Yelp
This is such a great brewery. Beer list is great. The acoustics inside could be better - the walls are bare and the sounds echos throughout the room - super loud. I'd only recommend if it's nice enough to be outside on the patio
google avatar

Erika C.

Yelp
Awesome little brewery + coffee shop. There is bar space to sit at as well as several individual tables. I came here to use their wifi one day and found some great beer choices! They have now become one of my go-to places for coffee and beer. They also have a fridge for to go beer, as well as Pete's Popsicles. They have pastries from local bakeries that are so delicious. They host weekly trivia which is always fun, as well as some occasional cribbage nights. Really cool spot in Tosa.

Yelp
Lovely coffee, pastry, and craft beer spot with a great, welcoming vibe for everyone. I can only speak to the beer and the pastries, which they source from independent shops. The beer is definitely above average- a bunch of different styles done quite well. Our favorite was the Irish Red Ale, really nicely balanced with great flavor. The vegan baked goods from Bunny's Bite were out of this world, some of the best flavors and textures I've had in a cookie or brownie bar, absolutely delicious. Friendly service and a bunch of folks working through their work day or meeting up with a friend - a great hang.
google avatar

Viv P.

Yelp
Total disclaimer - I got free coffee and pastry here for their national coffee day event. But I'm seriously loving their vibe and totally coming back and just wanted to leave a review for future reference (which is why I post all my reviews anyway - for future reference lol). I won't say much about the coffee (barrel aged Costa Rica cold brew and Kenya pour over) because honestly, they were both more on the sour side for my taste. Very personal taste, as the coffee is actually good, just not my preference. Maybe I should try their Brazil. But the Hatched bakery items? OH. MY.....! The dill feta scone was flaky scrumptious, and the blueberry pie... was so good hubby MADE me eat it even though I'm on keto, and I was glad he did. The servers were super nice, the atmosphere was perfect for an early Saturday morning, and the coffee woke me up feeling great. And they brew beer. I'm so coming back later than 7 in the morning..!

Yelp
Grabbed a dirty chai latte this Saturday and it is amazing. They even grated in some cinnamon on top. Very helpful staff and great space to go and hang out. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
I stopped in here for a coffee. Cute little shop. Very friendly staff, I enjoyed my coffee. Will definitely return.

Yelp
First time here and will definitely be coming back! Great and growing location, delicious coffee, fantastic ambiance, and friendly staff. Looking forward to coming back in the summer to enjoy the patio!

Yelp
First timer. Loved the aesthetic of the place. Modern and relaxed. Very friendly baristas. It's apparently a coffee and brewery place, not bad. Basic selection of coffee. Cold brew was good and strong. They mentioned lattes, which is nice, but I didn't see blended coffee on the menu, bummer :(. Overall good experience, will be definitely stopping by frequently.
google avatar

Adrienne D.

Yelp
I came to this coffee shop today to get some serious studying done. The shop is very cute and very clean. I honestly love the aesthetic. There is a wall that is full of merchandise that you can purchase. I ordered a American logger and the banana bread I found both items to be good. More importantly, I love the price of everything that you can find here. There was ample seating and enough chargers, so I could sit in a corner and charge my devices. I was able to be super productive and got to see some very cute puppies because a lot of customers come with their dogs. I will definitely try to come here again.

Yelp
My gf had checked out this coffee shop before I tagged along on a visit. We went on a Sunday morning and the staff there was awesome. They greeted us right from the jump and helped us navigate through their different coffee drink selections. I went with a pour over and my gf went with an iced vanilla latte. Both of the drinks were really tasty and fresh. I believe my pour over was from Guatemalan coffee beans which I appreciated given the fact that my parents immigrated from there and I'm a new transplant coming in from LA, it was nice to see the various coffee selection, with Guatemalan coffee beans being one of them. You can taste the various sweet and tart notes from the coffee which I really appreciated. They are also a brewery so I'm excited to go back and taste some of the different beers they're brewing up. Definitely would recommend this space for a morning cup of coffee, getting some some work done if you work from home, or just looking for some downtime to unwind. They also have monthly events and I believe we're hosting a pumpkin carving on that day we went in which seemed to be a lot of fun! Excited to continue coming back!

Yelp
Love this no nonsense coffee shop. The coffee is legt and while they can whip up a few different creations (no PSL here) the simpler the cup of joe, the better. At least in my opinion! And don't forget to grab some cans of craft beer to go for later and a complimentary sticker (or two).

Yelp
Still a huge fan of Vennture Brew Co, their beers, coffee beans and coffee drinks, welcoming outdoor and indoor spaces, and friendly owners and service. I'm a craft beer lover, but especially love when there's a variety of offerings beyond IPA. Vennture puts out some great IPAs, as well as coffee-infused beers, and their BRUV Berliner Weisse Series is really interesting. Follow them on Instagram and Untappd for new beer release news! We recently came here, grabbed a few 4-packs, and enjoyed a flight outside, while one of the owners chatted with us. The owners are so friendly. This place has a great neighborhood feel, and supports small businesses like Hatched (Pies), as well. Support your locals!

Yelp
Awesome coffee, excellent service. We've been looking for a new coffee spot, and we were impressed with Venture. We will have to come back some time to try the craft beer. Check them out if you're looking for great coffee and a place to work or decompress. Thanks Vennture!

Yelp
I have had a lot of great beer in my short time beer-venturing and I am so glad to have visited this cute and welcoming Coffee and Beer company in Milwaukee. We were in Milwaukee for two days and came both days! The beer is good, the coffee is great, and the owners are amazing! Sometimes it's not all about the items you have but, also the experience of going to a place and this is one place I am definitely going to return not just for the tasty brews but, for the service and experience you receive. Beers: My fav beer was the Spray Tan NEIPA with Mango, Vanilla, and lactose. I also enjoyed the Cranberry Bruv and Gregorio Oatmeal Stout. We got a dirty chai to go and dang it was good! Look forward to returning!
google avatar

Kushal D.

Yelp
We visited Venture while they were hosting an Oktoberfest event. They had a food truck and a band. The band was great but so loud for the space, you could barely hear anything else. The service was at the bar and the place was packed, lots of families as well! I tried the Oktoberfest and my partner had the Oktoberfest with the coffee, which was unusual but quite good! Coffee itself was great as well!

Yelp
I moved to this area one and a half months ago and was eager to try all the cafes nearby to find a good coffee spot during weekends when I don't need to go to work. Vennture Brew has become my favorite coffee place after all those research and trials - like if I really want to sit down and try high- quality, fresh beans from different places, I just go and order their pour over. I am totally a coffee person and I have coffee at home, but it is a waste or it is just unnecessary to keep 4 bags of coffee beans at the same time. It is hard to make recommendations about coffee, as different coffee beans have their own flavor profiles, and different people have different preferences. However, the way they do the pour over (speed control, cleanliness of the filter and the dripper, water temperature... you name it) is professional. Beans are fresh, as you can tell from the aroma, the taste and the aftertaste of the coffee. I also get cold brew to go for workout. Smooth and deep flavor. Good enough. Staff are very friendly and the atmosphere is very welcoming here. Music has been soft and not loud, which is great, in the mornings that I went. Great place for study, work, meetup or just chill.

Yelp
Pie and good coffee, what more could you want! To be honest, I'm not a fan of fruit tones in my coffee, so I was a little hesitant when all the coffee notes seemed to have some sort of fruit. Somehow, it works for me! It's not incredibly overpowering or bitter and was super smooth. It does take a little more TLC to make the coffee since they use pour overs, but the taste is incredible! They work so efficiently that it was done in no time. I was with friends who love a good cold brew and they had a variety to choose from as well. A pour over and cold brew (i think both 16oz) ended up coming out to around $7 which wasn't bad! I'm not sure if they charge extra for milk, but it seemed nothing like those Starbuck's or Colectivo prices imo We took our coffees to go, but the work space looked very comfortable and there was ample outdoor space directly in front of the store and towards the side. We also picked up a slice of the apple pie which was so flaky and yummy, definitely recommend!

Yelp
Vennture is awesome. We supported the Kickstarter back when they were planning their opening, and the place is wonderful. Their coffee is exceptional - some of the best I've had in the city. The last time we visited was the first time I got to try their beer, and that's great too. It's a nice open place with a mix of clientele. The three owners couldn't be nicer, and are there to explain the differences between the beers, coffees...whatever you ask about. There are so many coffee shops as well as breweries opening up in Milwaukee...but Vennture stands out because of the fusion of both. Check it out.
google avatar

Allison F.

Yelp
My visit to Vennture Brew had me wishing that I had this brewery/coffee roastery in my neighborhood. Everything from the beers to the coffee to the three cool dudes behind the bar was most excellent. Bonus: Vennture serves Hatched pies, which is the beer pairing I never knew I needed.
google avatar

Carlina A.

Yelp
Very nice set up and atmosphere. The baristas are always friendly. For some reason the crowd always seems off putting whenever I enter though, almost judgey. I haven't been there in a while so maybe that has changed. The chai tea latte is amazing there!

Chani G.

Yelp
We stopped by on a day trip to get some other local favorites, cold brew is fruity and smooth. They have good vegan options for treats as well!
google avatar

Liz A.

Yelp
Coffee, beer and community all come together at Vennture, aptly named - think venndiagram. The owners have done a great job created a bright, welcoming space. I stopped in after working with the intention of one flight of three beers but then decided I wanted to try all 6 beers that were available so a second flight ensued. They had a couple stouts on tap - one with coffee which I was a big fan. They also have two saisons both good but I see myself repeatedly ordering The Heights saison or their NE IPA, 49th Street. To round out the mix, Bruv is a Berliner Weise and you can also get a flavored syrup added to it. The coffee menu sounded good but because I'd be up all night if I had coffee at 7pm, I passed. Their cold brew sounds delicious so I fully intend on heading back during the AM hours for caffeine. Two thumbs up to the guys running Vennture!
google avatar

Emily S.

Yelp
We stopped into Vennture Brewing with a couple of friends on a Sunday afternoon. There were a fair amount of people, however the service was quick and there was plenty of room for us to find seats. The space is roomy and pleasant, with an industrial feel which at the same time remains modern, light, and airy. The front of the brewery has garage doors which open to the street, and we appreciated the high and low table seating options. This would be somewhere I could come to get a beer with friends, or do get some work done with a laptop and some coffee. The coffee smelled delicious, however we only sampled the beers. We tried the 49th Street NEIPA, The Heights Saison, and the Critical Adjustment Tropical Stout (both with and without coffee versions). All four beers were excellent, clean, and unique. We look forward to returning to try more of their offerings!
google avatar

Teresa H.

Yelp
Vennture is amazing. 10/10 must check out. From the coffee to the beers everything is truly stand out. Their recent Black Friday beer release was one of the best I've had in a long time, and as a coffee novice (can't tell Starbucks from Colectivo) I can taste a true difference in their coffee. Don't take my word for it tho, the family coffee snob (my husband) agrees and we come here at least once a weekend even tho the trip there takes us right past the competition... so worth it. Lastly- I know they don't make them, but the scones and hand pies they offer from hatched are an INCREDIBLE compliment to your coffee- or beer!
google avatar

Mike R.

Yelp
Great addition to the Milwaukee brewing scene! Last night they were offering six varieties on tap all brewed on-site. Four of us started with a round of 'tasters' (roughly half pour half price servings) to see what we liked and then we moved on to a second round after selecting our favorites. I would have to say, while I enjoyed the NE IPA the best (medium hop with some fruitiness but not hazy juicy), all the beers were very good which means there should be something for everyone who appreciates good beer (light beer drinkers should move on by). Great cool vibe! I'll be back.
google avatar

Whitney S.

Yelp
A fun place to grab beer, coffee drinks or both!! Spacious inside and a cute little patio out front and on the side of the building. My husband loved his sample tray and my iced chai was delicious!
google avatar

Abigail P.

Yelp
I've been to this place a few times. You would have thought I would have already written a review. Such a great combination. Coffee + beer, in one place. They have a decent space for indoor and small space for outdoor seating. The staff is friendly and engaging. I've enjoy the beers that I've tried here. I actually haven't had their coffee but it looks popular. They have a nice bar area facing the front. A good number of outlets scattered around. I'm always working in coffee shops and breweries so I always look for those.
google avatar

Jeff T.

Yelp
Excellent service and coffee. Pour over. Cool decor, front of store was open air which on the day I was there was perfect weather.
google avatar

Kathleen B.

Yelp
Came here based on a recommendation from a friend! Immediately captivated by the space, rustic, but modern. You walk in and smell both coffee and hops. I was greeted by the owner who was so happy that I was here trying them out. I overheard him talking about the business and his passion is very evident. I tried two beers, their cocktail sour and a blackberry beer. Both were delicious, I will definitely be back and recommend this for everyone to try!
google avatar

Austin D.

Yelp
The beer and seltzers here are very good. Also nice to have the option of coffee at the same place. Pizza was good. The service is great and the atmosphere is nice. Would recommend to anyone that likes a local brewery.
google avatar

Mike C.

Yelp
I'm pretty stingy with 5-star reviews, but Vennture is the most deserving of establishments. From a cafe/brew pub perspective, they do everything right. Coffee drinks are carefully crafted with the bean held with high regard, and the evening beers are, generally, bright, fresh, and flavorful. As a bit of a beer nerd, I praise Vennture's ability to serve beers that taste like few others. Not super-high in gravity (alcohol), they make very quaffable brews. Service is always attentive and friendly, as the owners themselves tend the place. They're quick with a smile or helpful advice, and they generally support the community in which they are in. Need a bite with your brew? Fear not -- Vennture welcomes you to bring in food from local establishments. Feeling competitive? There are plenty of games on hand to test your skills against friends and significant others. Cribbage, man. I would destroy you. In short, this place is a true Milwaukee gem. I look forward to being a regular for many, many years. And if you see me at the bar, don't be afraid to challenge me at cribbage. Double-skunking is my specialty, but you just may get lucky. ;)

Yelp
Great little spot to hang with friends. It is very casual. It's an open space with a bar and tables. Nothing fancy but it works! I had the cold brew which was delicious but strong! It's a great atmosphere and the bar tenders were very friendly! I did not have any beer but everyone I was like really liked it. You can sample them and the staff was knowledgeable. Will for sure be back in the summer months when the garage doors are open!
google avatar

Emily F.

Yelp
A fun spot for coffee and beer! I've been here a few times and I've always left with happy tastebuds. It's modern and aesthetically pleasing both on the inside and on the beer can designs. Their variety of craft beers was impressive and I was very content with the hazy IPA I ordered.

Yelp
North Avenue has long awaited the opening of this space. These guys had a vision to create a place where great coffee, craft beer, and local community could all intersect. They've only recently opened, so I haven't sampled their coffee yet (which they roast on site!); but I have had both their Berliner Weiss and their Critical Adjustment Coffee Stout. I'm so proud to have a brew pub in our neighborhood turning out truly quality beer! The beers I had were delicious, cold, and FRESH! The atmosphere is unpretentious and feels appropriate for bringing folks together for a beer or coffee. There is plenty of seating throughout, but for a more intimate experience, sit at the bar and interact with the owners! Their story of how they came to start Vennture is exciting and I think you'll enjoy your experience as much as I enjoyed mine.
google avatar

Sema T.

Yelp
In addition to an excellent social media presence, Vennture has both great coffee and great brews. The owners took a risk opening a few years ago on North and in a space that needed a lot of work. But now you can taste beer in the summer with garage-door style windows and lovely outdoor options. Everyone is following great protocol and they're cheerful in the midst of it all. Love Vennture and highly recommend.

Yelp
Quick stop at this brewery in Milwaukee. Beers, coffee, staff.... Everything was cool. Have a chat with Matt, he is friendly!
google avatar

Zack F.

Yelp
Super pumped on this place opening in this area! Great atmosphere, location is nice as there are no places like it near by and the service is awesome. I liked all of the beers I had and the place is made mostly out of reclaimed wood. I met a group of friends and the place was packed! There was a dj that showed up to provide some cool jams and doors open to let in the breeze. Try the coffee, try the beer, try the beer that has coffee. If you're a beer person this is totally a spot you want to check out soon.
google avatar

Nathan P.

Yelp
Awesome spot to come get some excellent coffee and coffee drinks. Love the latte, and tried one of their cold brew specials, may have been a Kenyan collaboration, but I couldn't begin to describe all of the different tastes that came to fruition in this smooth, cool drink. Also got some for a friend when he was in town, a true coffee snob of coffee snobs and he was almost speechless upon consumption, plans to make the trip anytime in the area.

Yelp
I visited Vennture Brew today, 5/14/22 in the late afternoon. I visit craft breweries as a hobby (and probably as an excuse to find nearby restaurants that might have ramen). Vennture appeared as an oddity to me in the neighborhood which is otherwise filled with stores selling European sausage, furniture, flowers and barbershops. Vennture's interior had a college trendy decor and staffed by hipsters. Most patrons had laptops out with headphones. Staff were very nice and appeared knowledgeable about both their beer and coffee. They offer a flight of 3 for about $12. My selections were unique. I tried one that was frothy and akin to a jelly donut in a glass, a tart sour and one that had hints of either coriander or a mint. They finished unusually and mostly fruity. I appreciated the artisanship of the beer, probably more than the beer itself. While I did not try any coffee, I decided to take the staff's recommendation and bought two 12 oz bags, one of Mexican and one of Guatemalan beans. Wi-Fi was easily accessible and stable. I was able to access a free brewery sticker that was left out to take. I'd like to return to try a coffee drink.
