Ventozelo Hotel & Quinta

Our stay at Ventozelo Hotel & Quinta was unforgettable. The property itself is stunning—set high on the hills with breathtaking views over the river. The pool was perfect for relaxing, and our suite was incredible: spacious, comfortable, and with gorgeous views of the vineyards. The staff were wonderful—helpful, attentive, and always prompt with any request. A highlight of our trip was the jeep tour with Carlos, who was extremely knowledgeable and took us all around the property, making the experience both fun and informative. We absolutely loved our stay and hope to stay again one day.

This stay was without doubt the highlight of our trip to Portugal. The setting is breathtaking, with sweeping views over the mountains, vineyards and river. It’s one of the most memorable places we’ve ever stayed – the rooms are beautifully designed, the service faultless and the food outstanding. The farm-to-table dining was a real standout, paired with an excellent selection of local wines. Marcos, the sommelier, made the evening even more special with his knowledge and passion – he turned dinner into an experience in itself. We’re already looking forward to returning. A truly exceptional property that feels unique in every way, and one we would recommend without hesitation.

The Ventozelo estate is incredible, with some of the best views in the Douro. The food was amazing, and our waiter Sergio made our experience exceptional by going above and beyond every night. We did have an issue with our room but the team addressed it quickly. I look forward to staying here again.

Lovely Hotel in the middle of the Douro Valley, surrounded by vineyards everywhere!! The Hotel is a collection of small single room houses that are comfortable and nice with beautiful views of the surrounding hillside vineyards. Bed was very comfortable! One note, this is definitely not a good spot for tourists with limited ambulation abilities. Deep cobblestone walks with steep walking hills. A wheelchair would be impossible. Very nice service personnel and overall Very nice place to enjoy a stay in Douro.

What makes Ventozelo Hotel & Quinta so special and truly worth a visit is its unique location among the vineyards, offering a spectacular view of the Douro River. We’ve driven extensively throughout the Douro Valley for 5 days, and we believe this must be one of the most breathtaking locations in the entire region. Please see my attached photos — I’m confident you’ll agree.||Our room (number 16) was relatively small but had an intimate atmosphere and included everything one needs for a comfortable stay. From the room, we had a beautiful view over the Douro River. Since our room was located at the end of the building, we also had access to a relatively large grassy area outside where we could sit and enjoy the scenery. We did miss having a sun umbrella to provide shade during the hot hours. We also would have appreciated a small refrigerator in the room to keep drinking water cold. The air conditioning worked very well.||The hotel features a lovely outdoor pool with a stunning view of the river and the boats passing by. Guests can also enjoy walks among the vineyards on the extensive property owned by the hotel. One of the highlights of our stay was a wine tasting session led by a highly knowledgeable host who shared fascinating insights about the grape harvesting process and life on the estate. Ventozelo is one of the largest wineproducers in the Douro region.||Breakfast exceeded all our expectations. You can order from a menu that should satisfy most preferences — a wonderful way to start the day! We also had both lunch and dinner at the hotel, and the dishes felt homemade and were beautifully presented. The prices were reasonable. The restaurant itself is charmingly located, offering a fantastic view over the valley.||The service at this hotel is professional. Not everyone spoke perfect English, but all staff were very eager to make sure our stay was enjoyable.||The free Wi-Fi worked well with decent capacity both in the room and common areas.||Ventozelo Hotel & Quinta may not be the cheapest accommodation in the Douro Valley, but I believe it offers value for money. We had a WONDERFUL stay in Quinta Ventozelo. It is a stunning place. We loved jogging around the vineyards and ending with a dip in the Douro river. The staff is top notch, super friendly and helpful. Tania in the front desk, in the restaurant Marco, the guy from the pool bar, the lady from the boutique. Thanks for making our stay unforgettable. It is a perfect place for a couples retreat.

Stunning place, a highlight of our tour of northern Spain and Portugal. Excellent service from the moment we arrived. The rooms are very modern and comfortably furnished, with excellent air conditioning.||The views from the pool and surrounding terrace are mesmerising. We were happy to simply enjoy views of the river with is passing boats and riverbank trains, whilst enjoying a bottle of the properties own wine. The breakfast and dinner are both first class and reasonably priced for the level of quality and service. We hope to return.||Whilst this is a hilltop property unlike several others we saw the access is via smooth paved roads and without any extreme angles was suitable for a very low sportscar.

This stay was the highlight of our entire trip to Portugal. The property is breath taking- with views of the mountains, vineyards, and river. One of our favorite places we’ve ever stayed- everything was beautiful, the rooms are impeccably styled, service was great, and the food was amazing. The farm to table experience at the restaurant was another highlight, as well as the great selection of local wine. Marcos, the sommelier at the restaurant, was amazing! Very knowledgeable and made our dinner so enjoyable. We already can’t wait to return! Truly an experience that stands apart from the rest- and one of the most stunning properties I’ve stayed at. We can’t recommend enough!
