Fun, awesome brewery! A must visit in Ventura!! We had an overnight visit to Ventura and decided to hit up Ventura Coast Brewing Co! Other breweries nearby were closed on Mondays so I was stoked Ventura Coast was open. Nice selections of delicious tasting beers, plenty of seats in and out. Various rooms and lounge areas. Very cool, laid back atmosphere and kid friendly! You can order pizzas which worked out for us and appreciate! Will be back when we visit DT Ventura again! Cheers!

Colton is the best bartender, he gives great drink recommendations. The atmosphere is super fun and a great place to grab a drink with a big group of friends. Their salt beer was super good too!

Google
Super nice staff that learn regulars/ local's tastes and are knowledgeable about their products. They are kind to my dog and let me park my minibike out front in one of those empty triangle spots. The patio is great for parties and they have a rear cabana that can be rented out for private events. The bathrooms are relatively clean and they have a membership for specialty mugs and discounts. This is somewhat of a hidden gem as it is off the beaten path of downtown mainstreet but I like it more for it. Terrible place for kids. Maybe take them to the park and throw a baseball with them, tech now to kick a soccer ball, anything that doesn't introduce breweries to them at their developing age.

Outstanding, modern West Coast IPA. Great, laidback, spot.

The city of Ventura is a bustling city that is bursting with microbrewery options. One such establishment is Ventura Coast Brewing Co. Located down one of the side streets of Main, this is one of the rare breweries that is actually in the vicinity of where both locals and tourists alike frequent. It is a nice place to catch up with friends or host an event. The space is open and well lit and serves a nice variety of different beer styles. It's definitely worth a visit if you are looking to spend some time downtown and need a little respite from shopping. Try the S'more stout, if anything, for the wonders of The toasted marshmallow they put on top.

Missoni Missoni

Google
An unpleasant and uncomfortable place with rude employees who are rude to customers. The girl in the cap was especially rude, she allowed herself rudeness and arrogance. The beer here is of poor quality and smells of alcohol. Toilets are always dirty, locks are broken, no one removes dirt from tables. I don't recommend this place. Don't waste your place on this nook for disadvantaged people. It's better to walk along the main street where there are many good places with delicious food and beer!

Google
Great space in downtown Ventura, just a few blocks from the beach. Indoor and outdoor seating. Good selection of craft beer from pilsner to sour to stout. No in-house food, but food truck on site. 2 thumbs 👍

Google
There are many breweries in Ventura with their own personalities and vibe. Ventura Coast Brewing Company is a place for everyone. Wide open space, indoor and outdoor area make for the perfect setting for any group.

Yelp
A good brewery spot in downtown Ventura. I'd driven by this spot many a times and had been meaning to go in. My friends encouraged us to stop in over the weekend while we were on our city bar crawl and I was happy to finally get to try this place. I'd definitely give them 5 stars for the aesthetic and layout of the place. I loved the style of this brewery as it feels spacious and I like that open concept garage look with the large doors, wood, and glass. Very industrial type. It made for a cool look while you are inside enjoying a drink. It's also pretty convenient that they regularly have food vendors outside which is a plus. The staff were efficient and knowledgeable on their menu. The vibes were laid back and service was fine. Wouldn't necessarily be memorable but I'm okay with that if they are just trying to keep the line moving and dishing out beers. I liked the flavor of a lot of the beers I tried which is always a plus. I did the taster flight which was pretty nice. Some of my favorites, while very different from each other were their passion fruit goose and their donut stout. Very nice drinks. I only wish I could have added a seltzer to the flight. Some breweries are cool with just letting you put a seltzer in place of the beer and others aren't. Here I couldn't have that option. Wasn't a huge deal at all but just worth noting so you'll know in advance. Prices were average. It's definitely a nice spot in downtown to stop for a beer or a seltzer. They have a private room you can rent for events which looked pretty nice too. Worth keeping in the back of my mind. Glad I was able to give this spot a try.

Yelp
The beer is good, and the ambiance is good because of the customers who come. The problem here is the rude staff lately. If they hate their jobs and are going to be with an attitude they should consider getting new jobs. Especially the tall women that work closing on 1/30/2025 and the man working closing 2/07/2025. It never fails with both of their attitudes and horrible customer service. If the beer was not good I would not keep coming back.

Yelp
Amazing vibe with a different atmosphere. Definitely a local brewery and really good pizza next door. Service was on point and the beer is delicious.

Yelp
No idea why it took me so long to visit VCBC, but I have been missing out! VCBC is an awesome brewery! The inside of the brewery is clean and feels inviting. There are a handful of spots to hang out and enjoy beer inside, but there's a ton of outdoor seating available too. There is an outdoor bar to order from too. They have rotating food trucks outside to order food from. There's a room inside that is available to reserve. The room has a large table and TV. We hung out in there and played Jenga, which was at VCBC. VCBC has a variety of different beers. I enjoyed the Arctic Haze beer. This brewery was a lot of fun and I will definitely be returning!

Yelp
I've heard good things about this brewery. The celebrity clientele and ambience does not disappoint. Was however disappointed with the lack of service I received when simply ordering a second round of drinks. Not being a Local is the vibe I was getting. I hope all visitors don't experience this . With the frustration of parking wars we were enticed to park for free here!! (Posted a picture) That being said the Five stars for Birria Elguero food truck parked out side by the patio dining area. Sal (chef & owner) such people skills! Shared with me his experience in the art of Mexican food and his love for feeding the local community. Sal recommended the Mulita. It did not disappoint The tapatio habanero sauce is dangerously good!! You've been warned!! Maybe I'll give VBC another try. But I will definitely have Sal's Birria ElGuero again! Check out @Chef_suded on IG or pop in and try it out Monday , Wednesday & Saturday in Ventura

Yelp
VCBC is awesome! They have a ton of options for all beer drinkers, with lots of house made stuff and some collars and guest beers. Staff members were friendly and offered samples and recommendations for more specific preferences. The indoor space is great, plenty of seating and a cool barrel room that you can reserve for a party. I was surprised by the outdoor space! Its massive and there is a bar out back as well. Seems like there is usually a food truck option so you can get some eats but there are tons of other food options walking distance. This is a great spot to meet up with friends, to celebrate a b-day, etc.

Yelp
Always good to get in early and was lucky bough to come in on a brewing day! Smells amazing! Super clean inside and out. Service was fast and super friendly too! Food truck onsite too if you're hungry!
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing staff amazing food trucks and the BEER 10/10. It's a must stop if your in the area!!
google avatar

Patrick H.

Yelp
This place has a great-looking and large taproom. The beer is pretty decent. Artic Haze IPA was my favorite of the couple of beers that I tried. They don't serve food so you might think of bringing some in on your visit.

Yelp
Beautiful brewery that is very family friendly and dog friendly! I've been drinking beer here since they first opened (6 years ago?) and love the beverage selections and staff. VCBC is huuuuge with tons of indoor seating, patio seating, a cute little tropical bar in the back, and the lines move fast. There are rotating food trucks, live music, and fun events (art shows, markets, trivia nights, etc.). I enjoy their sour beers, seltzers, love the neighborhood pale ale, and am recently hooked on the smoothie IPA (peach emoji?!). Free parking and metered parking is available downtown. Great place for drinks and special events - I've attended many birthday parties and celebrations here!

Nikita B.

Yelp
Good beers selection but no food and seating is mostly at large shared tables. The tasting flight is not really worth it. You can get more beer for the same price if you order a few 8oz. glasses. That said, we liked the Hazy IPA's and it's a good place to chill.
google avatar

Liza K.

Yelp
Love that I can order a flight of 5 beers here and love every single one! I like VCBC because they just get the vibe I'm looking for. Open, sunny, airy brewery on the inside and a large patio with rotating food truck, live music, and plenty of seating. I especially enjoy coming here with my dog, sitting inside, and enjoying a kombucha just to soak up their ambiance. I've seen this place get packed on random Thursday nights and it brings me such joy to see some life downtown on a week night! Trivia, run club meetups, private events, this is a great local spot.

Yelp
Pets are allowed!!! We loved our quick visit. Got Oktoberfest for $15 + $5 per fill. Good deal for good kind of beer. Servers were attentive to our queries too.
google avatar

Yoshiko G.

Yelp
Good ambience, many beer selections, lots of space, young vibe My bf is beer person but I don't drink beer that much, so I'm happy they have non alcohol choice. I ordered combucha lol it tastes good. The barrel room looks fun. You can have a small party There is parking and many spaces for street parking in the neighborhood.
google avatar

Nick C.

Yelp
I had a bad start at the brewery because the person ringing me up had an attitude. I don't know if they were having a bad day or what but they were just rude the whole time. The drinks were honestly good, I got a hazy IPA that tasted great. But then where I was seated I saw a mouse run right across the floor. It made my experience even worse after the person was rude to me.
google avatar

Kris T.

Yelp
If you don't like beers, Ventura Coast Brewing also offers seltzers in a variety of flavors including strawberry, raspberry lemonade (the best flavor), and blood orange. On Fridays, 8oz seltzers are $5! There is both indoor and outdoor seating, though it's a bit too brightly lit on the inside. It's also walking distance to the beach, which is a fun time to visit after you've had a few beers.

Yelp
This Brewery is Great ! We Always Stop By , grab a 4 pack of Neighborhood Pale ale , walk to the Beach and Have Most Wonderful Time

Chelsea R.

Yelp
You have some 5 star employees working at your fine establish , my loss your gain..... the two gentlemen working today around 1 pm wouldn't take my under the table cash offer for your perfect white pumpkin that's perched next to the bathrooms. This pumpkin is the most beautiful, round pristine white pumpkin I have ever seen in my ENTIRE LIFE!!! and they wouldn't take my MANY attempts at buying it from them. It goes without saying that the beer is always great here , and being able to play cards and battleship is great. But if you need someone to take that pumpkin off your hands.... PLEASEE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD. Let me have it. P.s if this is that employee my cash offer still stands .
google avatar

Yelp
Perfect place to hang out near Ventura beach! There are a lot of breweries near by which I like about the area. The cranberry sour beer had a good taste The staff is also friendly and polite
google avatar

Robin W.

Yelp
Ventura Coast Brewery is Ventura's version of a Classic Pub! Everyone feels welcome and the large, open-air interior space invites conversation and community gathering. The Beertender, Colton, serves up tastes and pints with genuine warmth and friendly conversation. The Beer is constantly rotating and the crafters challenge themselves to come up with seasonal varieties to suit everyone's taste. My personal favorite is the Peach Emoji IPA and I don't usually like IPA's but this one is outstanding! Food trucks are on regular schedules so you can grab food with your beer. Thank you to VCB for curating this beautiful community gathering spot and supporting local groups and projects.

Yelp
The beers here are well balanced- the atmosphere here was fresh and clean. The location is pretty cool - the service here are really kind and easy going people. Definitely check this place out they have food trucks that serve good food.
google avatar

James D.

Yelp
First time coming here. Was not expecting a great experience. Was impressed with how welcomed we were and served right away. Beer was very good and flavorful. Draft is always best but definitely needed to take some home. Will be coming back for sure.
google avatar

Ayoosh K.

Yelp
Perfect location being close to downtown and the beach. Ample parking space on street. They have a vast selection of brew on tap. Staff is super friendly and accommodating. Can easily spend your whole Sunday afternoon here.
google avatar

Erica G.

Yelp
I stopped by here to grab a beer after a hike. It was ok. They have a lot to choose from. The service wasn't the best. The restrooms were pretty gross. I've been there many times. Today was just ok. Cleanliness wasn't at its best for sure.
google avatar

Alli K.

Yelp
This is a great neighborhood craft brewery to stop by when in downtown Ventura. We love the rotating selection of beers ( many times offering a sour as well). We enjoy the relaxed vibe; indoor and outdoor seating, along with the friendly staff to help with beer selections. There are often food trucks ( the schedule is in their website). We especially love when the taco truck is there on the weekends.
google avatar

Michael V.

Yelp
Really like this place. Great beer and chill service. Relatively typical brewery with nothing over the top but everything done well. Not the greatest location, but the seating area is great, nice and open. A staple of the area, definitely check this place out.
google avatar

Lyle H.

Yelp
Many locally brewed beers and a seltzer d a weekly new taste. Food trucks. Inside and outside seating. Friendly management staff.
google avatar

Rachel M.

Yelp
So many different types of beer and seltzers with the fresh air from the beach coming in from outside and the best customer service. Places and people like this is why we come to ventura
google avatar

Jaqueline R.

Yelp
Love Ventura Coast! My last beer was here before I decided to embrace a non-alcoholic lifestyle but still come out here with my partner or friends while they indulge in drinks. The vibe is super chill, and the service is decent. I just wish they would make the leap to invest in a nonalcoholic beer or seltzer, and although they do have nonalcoholic options, it's just sparkling water or kombucha...eh.
google avatar

Ron M.

Yelp
Great beers, great service! Purple Tears and Extinction were my favorite beers (IPA fan) and the fact that they were having an Audubon society fundraiser at the brewery the day we came really speaks volumes. I would like to suggest, offering nonbinary restroom signs on your bathroom doors, it would speed things up exponentially and include an all inclusive vibe in that department.
google avatar

Sally R.

Yelp
I had my wedding reception on September 23,2023 here. Wonderful experience. Everyone who works their was very accommodating. Everyone had a great time.
google avatar

Tony H.

Yelp
Pretty big indoor seating area and a large outdoor seating area too. Perfect brewery spot for big groups and even a good location for small groups group of 2-4. They had a good variety of beers, most are ipa/ hoppy styles, but they do have an excellent plum sour and dry hop Pilsner. My favorite thing about Ventura Coast Brewing is their prices, any place that has taster flights for $2 and under is A-ok in my book. They don't serve food here, but they do have food trucks out near the outdoor seating area and I believe you're allowed to bring your own food in also.

Lizzy J.

Yelp
Great beer! Friendly and helpful staff. They give samples to help you decide on a beer. There's a big room and table for large parties. Indoor, and outdoor seating, and frequently there's a food truck! One of my favorite downtown spots!
google avatar

Jim E.

Yelp
Drive up from Carlsbad brewery district in North County Coast SD ( Carlsbad) to Ventura North County Beer District. And for us the Capital is Ventura Coast Brewery. So were stoked to drink with the mayor himself. ( See picture). Great IPAs, Great People and a decent mayor too!
google avatar

Ren N.

Yelp
Excellent brewery right by the shopping streets of Ventura. Although not along the board walk or by the beach, who needs that when you have free parking and cheap good tasting beer? I recommend the light lager! The front desk will happily provide samples for you to try if you have a hard time deciding. I went with a 4 oz for like $2, good enough for me! Wish all breweries offer this. Beers are also available for takeout. They don't have food but luckily there is a taco truck right outside in the parking lot. They're delicious! Recommend adding some small bites and maybe even wine?
google avatar

Christina H.

Yelp
Great spot for relaxing with a cold beer. You can order from a variety of great hops or IPAs. In addition, VCB is pet friendly! If you're looking for outdoor seating, it'll be located to the rear of the checkout. Food trucks are always parked out back as well.
google avatar

Maestro L.

Yelp
The food is very good but you must order on first floor. Great view and beer. Upstairs has a deck tables and counter seating. Open and spacious.
google avatar

Sandra D.

Yelp
First time here The service was great, got our drinks super fast! Loved how many people bring out all their super cute dogs!
google avatar

Szilvia B.

Yelp
Just tried to get some beer here. Nobody showed up to help us. We stood at the counter idling for a while Super Bowl Sunday afternoon. Ended up leaving without ever being noticed.
google avatar

Michael L.

Yelp
Excellent place to socialize. Lots of space and cornhole outside. My understanding is there is typically a food truck for quick accessible food. I like how it's off Main St.
google avatar

Jacob V.

Yelp
Honest review of a three and half star if I could. The good: Plenty of seating outside and inside with very clean environment. Just in a great area to hangout and have a drink. Their Smudge Pot Stout and Beachscape Pilsner were great. Nice clothing line for representing Ventura. Also, their is outside cameras for parking lot and seating areas. Staff is cool. Somewhat bad: Restrooms are border line dirty, just needs some tidying up because just a bit more worse and it's like a dive bar feeling restroom rather than brewery. I just did not like any of their IPA's and of course that is a very personal opinion on my taste. Smell of the beers are almost all the same and generally are much to hoppy more than their notes. Next time I'll prob take notes on the beer for Untapped app.
google avatar

Cassie C.

Yelp
With a large indoor space and extended outdoor space with many tables, you can come here with both a small or large group - plus dogs are allowed! Employees are very kind and courteous. The only downside for me personally is that most of their beers are IPAs which I do not like, but this is a great place for the many IPA-lovers out there! They do not have food of their own but often have a food truck parked outside if you're looking to also chow down.
google avatar

Joel P.

Yelp
The Ventura Coast Brew Co. is a hip and relevant brew house in the beautiful downtown of Ventura. It has an open air concept and it's ambiance is clean, professional and relaxed. We were served by Henry, who was very helpful and also very neat and professional. Thanks Ventura Brewing Co.! I would come here every day if I could!!
google avatar

Rob F.

Yelp
I start my reviews at a 3 and work my way up or down. This jumped to a 5. Excellent crafted beer! Clean American Pilsner and really great Arctic Haze! The staff are super cool. We came in a slow Wednesday night and Colton gave us a tour of the selections. Super cool dude! We will be back! Over and over... See you

Roniee C.

Yelp
Disappointed in a complaint of the food truck outdoors that was not handled properly by management. And then continue to allow a food truck on their property after threats of violence. If you do go there skip that food truck. Poor service, poor manners, long waits and no refunds! Disgusting
google avatar

Brandi H.

Yelp
So glad we came here on our visit to downtown Ventura! Environment was great with a modern yet comfortable vibe mixed with woods, metal and greenery. Beer was super fantastic.. blonde was crisp and clean, perfect for a beach day. Brew staff was very attentive and helpful. The @Happyplaceeatery food truck in the back had awesome food.. pretzel bites were bombs Definitely will come back here!
google avatar

Melissa D.

Yelp
Great beer for a great price. Love the option of a flight of 5 oz for $10. Nice way to try a bunch of beers at once. There is a solid variety of beers here. I like that they have a sour, a pale, a red, a few IPAs, etc. Something for everyone! Staff is super friendly and helpful, willing to answer any and all questions about the beers. It seems like Monday nights are bingo nights which is fun. It was busy and everyone was having a good time. There is an indoor area (with doors open to outside) and an outside area (still under the same roof but open around sides). Social distancing very possible. Lots of airflow. I recommend a stop here for sure!

Yelp
My wife and I were staying in Carpinteria for all of January 2022 and we took the bus down to Ventura and we had about 30 minutes before our next bus back to Carpinteria. I ordered an IPA and we took it outside to enjoy on their nice outside patio. It was pretty light on traffic inside, but the bartender was super cool. The place is right by the bus stop, so if you are looking for a beer before a bus. Score!
