The Best Drive-In Experiences this Summer, From Drag Shows to Music Festivals

"The Ventura County Fairgrounds in southern California will host Concerts In Your Car from July 24 to August 29, featuring artists like Third Eye Blind and Sublime. “Music of the Knights,” part of Rubicon Theatre Company’s Rubicon Goes Retro series, will see Broadway stars performing the music of Sirs Elton John, Paul McCartney, and Andrew Lloyd Webber at the same fairgrounds (September 7 to 9)."

Had an amazing time at the Seaside Highland Games in Ventura! Bagpipes, kilts, Scottish dancing, and incredible athletic events — all by the ocean breeze. Perfect mix of culture, music, and fun for all ages. Can’t wait for next year! Scottish fun in the California sun! Loved the caber toss, live music, and great food. Well-organized and family-friendly — a must-see every October at the Ventura Fairgrounds!

Here’s a recap of our visit to the Ventura County Fair, which was WAVES OF FUN!! It’s now my favorite fair!! Stilt Walkers, Plenty of Fair Food to choose from, Beer on Tap, Petting Zoo, Pony Rides, Livestock and Junior Livestock Auction, Pig Races (loved), Rides and Games, Shop Vendors, Bingo, Mechanical Bull, Live Music and concerts. Loved Violin on Fire with Patrick Contreras and The Outlaw Mariachi, which had people up and dancing!! The foodie in me was excited to try some fair food and it did not disappoint!! My favorite foods: Monster Chicken Kabobs- so flavorful and juicy! Bacon wrapped Jalapeño Poppers are a favorite go-to. Watermelon lemonade- so refreshing Tip: get the souvenir cup for $8 and get refills for 50% off. Dubai Chocolate Cinnamon Rolls. Cinnamon Rolls are baked fresh. So ooey gooey with chocolate. I wish it had more pistachio cream. The sampler box of fudge was creamy and sweet. The Divinity was like a light homemade marshmallow. If you love beef jerky, you’ll love Timbo’s Beef Jerky and Beef Sticks! We couldn’t leave the fair without the roasted Mexican Corn on the cob and cup. Fantastic!! Parking was $20

Fun, food, rides, and great weather. Regular entrance adult tickets 🎟️ price is $20 ($15 for senior citizens). Parking 🅿️ is flat $20.

My wife dragged me here for a holiday craft show. They had a craft show earlier in the year, and two buildings we full of craft stuff. Lucky for me it was just one building this time, but my wife really likes these shows. I have to admit, it's impressive how crafty people are. There were a lot of amazing things for sale. I got an ice cold beer at "Finnys" afterwards so it wasn't so bad.

LOVE the Ventura County Fair...fireworks are gone, no drones, a lot less vendors, animals, even less rodeo events and entertainment. But everything that was there was great and the weather was nice and cool

I was sitting behind this guy at the stcotty mcreery concert and him and his wife would constanly stand up moving back and forth blocking the entire stage. I asked them if they would mind sitting my moms in a wheelchair and counld see the stage at all they completely ignored me and even made fun of me to their friends i would allow them to be sponsors of the fair again
