I just have to come right out and say, holy hell, this coffee was bangin'. Like, worth-drinking-every-day-of-our-vacation-bangin'.
If you know me, or you at least see my photos in your feed, you know that I go out to eat and drink. Like, a lot. For me, it's like filling a never-ending void up with as many new experiences as possible. So obviously, with only so many hours in a day and only so many calories to be consumed, my thought process is to limit the amount of times you find yourself in a situation you've already been in before, good or bad. If not always a place you've never been, then at least an item you've never tried.
Enter Venture. In planning this trip, despite Venture being literally like two blocks away from where we were staying, it somehow flew under my radar. We had just picked up our bagels nearby and my partner asked if we could get coffee from somewhere else, and I did a quick Yelp search to see if there was a coffee shop in walking distance. When I saw Venture, I was like, huh, guess there is, guess we could go here??
When we stepped inside, I was enthused to see their menu options being as weirdo yummy as they are: rosemary infused syrup? Peach latte? Cardamom rolls and spanakopitas? Uh, hell yeah.
We ordered, took a seat on their very comfy couch, and literally within seconds our drinks were already done. We decided to drink them there because the ambiance was so cozy, even with all the windows and doors open and the draft blowing in.
And after we tried the first sips of our coffees, my partner and I gazed into each other's eyes, brimming with love. Not love for each other--no--but love for our drinks. We returned on the other two days of our trip, and have reminisced about "probably the best coffee in Ballard" many times since.
