Where to Drink Natural Wine in London’s Wine Bars | Eater London

"Newly opened Veraison Wines brings a little slice of old-school France to a Camberwell High Street. Dark wood-paneling and a bric-a-brac approach to decor create a space somewhat lost in time but perfect for casual drinking of lovely wines. Without question, the wine list here features mainly wines from London-based importer Winemaker’s Club due to a bit of London natural-wine dynasticism: owner Patryjca Lorek’s husband owns the import company and Farringdon wine bar. Veraison has a typical neighbourhood vibe that slots charmingly into the tapestry of Camberwell. Here, parties of friends old and new descend on low tables and bar seats of the intimate space. On a sunny day, enjoy a bottle of Ismael Gozalo’s Nieva York verdejo pet nat for seriously citrusy refreshment. For a mid-week treat, tuck into one of the elegant Coteaux Champenois roses from Olivier Horiot: complex and ethereal still rose from Champagne. Classic French bar snacks are made better by exceptional bread from new-neighbours Frog bakery. With plenty to choose from and only a £12 corkage fee on all wines (plus no-corkage Wednesdays), Veraison stands as a tempting new space for Camberwell residents and outsiders alike." - Nathalie Nelles

Veraison Wines Is a New Camberwell Wine Shop and Bar | Eater London

"Opened by wine professional Patryjca Lorek, this neighbourhood wine shop and bar on Camberwell’s Church Street draws on serious hospitality pedigree—Lorek previously worked at grower champagne bar Bubbledogs and Covent Garden’s 10 Cases. The compact space, which launched the weekend of 9 April, features a simple wooden bar with green-leather-topped stools, lit-up shelving beneath the windows and a neon bunch of purple grapes to attract passers-by. The opening also links it to a family wine dynasty, as Lorek’s husband John directs a well-regarded importer, retail shop and bar." - James Hansen

Lovely spot in Camberwell, plenty of seating and a great wine selection... We tried most of those offered by the glass and they were all delicious. Generous food portions ☺️ Super friendly staff.

it's quite hard to find a spot that gives me what i'm looking for for when or if i'm in the mood for one drink - there is a really earnest atmosphere in here which feels very authentic and antithetical to a blatantly "formulaic" vibe i sense in other wine bars in london i've been to. we sat by the bar and chatted to patrycja and can tell she sincerely loves what she does. i think it is well worth the price of a glass beyond the value of the drink for a kind of simple but memorable experience like that : )

So pleased to have this new addition to my neighbourhood in Camberwell. Great wine selection and some tasty snacking platters to go with it. A lovely place to watch the world go by!

One of our favourite Camberwell spots. Staff are always super friendly, unpretentious, and happy to recommend a wine, and their suggestions have always been spot on. Highly recommend if you’re in the area!

Although the bar and the staff are nice, I found it very overpriced for the most basic wines. Almost £31 for two French and an Italian 125ml glasses of wines is absolutely ridiculous. I completely understand that the retail price of those bottle must be quite high for the business, therefore, they have to put prices starting from £9. I get that. But, in my opinion, a place who is specialised in wines, should not offer those type of wines. I’m sorry, but the French £9 glass wine was really bad. If you want to offer something affordable and a much better quality, I would offer Porta 6 or a Protos. Very affordable Portuguese and Spanish origins that are, for my taste, way better. Also, the back of the bar with those cardboard boxes and the bike should not be there for such a lovely place. It breaks de atmosphere.

They’re super lovely. The service was impeccable. Very attentive and smiley. the wines were delicious. On the pricey side but worth it! Would love to see more non- alcoholic options (cider/wine£ for those who don’t drink but are with a group who do
