"Less than a year after opening Giardino in Lemon Grove, owners Marco Provino and Karina Kravalis are celebrating the launch of Verandina, their new restaurant in Imperial Beach which brings a mostly Italian menu to the seaside community’s main thoroughfare. The 2,800-square-foot space features two levels of dining; the lower level dining room includes a bar serving craft beer, wine, and cocktails and a dog-friendly patio while the upper level boasts ocean views and can be reserved for private events. Provino’s Sicilian heritage and background of cooking in Italian kitchens is reflected in Verandina’s offerings, which draw from the cuisine that can be found in the coastal towns of Italy. Starters include shrimp fra diavola, seafood salad, crab-stuffed mushrooms and signature pastas range from squid ink spaghetti and lobster ravioli to linguine with sea urchin. Entrees include whole grilled branzino, cioppino, and Sicilian-style swordfish. The eatery will also serve flatbreads and burgers; in keeping with the seafood theme there will be a salmon burger and flatbread topped with clams, mussels, shrimp and calamari." - Candice Woo

"Verandina is a two-story oceanfront restaurant located in Imperial Beach, taking over the space that formerly housed Barrels on Seacoast. The 2,800-square-foot, bi-level restaurant will have a large sidewalk patio and bar and an upstairs dining room with seaside views. The menu will focus on modern Sicilian cuisine, ranging from bar bites to housemade pasta and fresh seafood including oysters and whole grilled lobsters." - Candice Woo

Amazing Clean place. Amazing cannolis. 3 great tasting cannolis for $9 . Can't beat the quality or price. Better than Carlos Bakery.

This location finally has a great restaurant! Excellent service! Great breakfast with the best omelettes ever and cappuccino pancakes. We were visiting and went back for dinner with great pizza, stuffed mushrooms and pasta. We will go back and highly recommend Verandina! They also have a dog friendly patio which was great for us and our dog Chloe.

I just visited this amazing restaurant! Imperial Beach needed a place that this. Verandina is right on the beach. The dishes are authentic Italian. I loved their beet salad with glazed pecans and lobster lasagna. I've never tried lobster lasagna, now it's one of my favorite dishes. I will definitely go back to try more food.

Loved this place! Great addition to the neighborhood. Prices are very reasonable considering the quality authentic Italian food. Menu options are broad, for every taste! It was a pleasure to enjoy my lunch on a sunny day on the beach while sitting at this cozy place. The design is gorgeous, the food is great. Can’t beat that!

I went to Verandina for the first time today for dinner. The restaurant is in an excellent & scenic location, and was tastefully decorated. The ambience was very pleasant and filled with natural light. I tried the dill gimlet cocktail, which was delicious and refreshing. Then I proceeded to have a mixed greens salad, and lobster ravioli with asparagus -- WONDERFUL! I'm very happy to have an Italian restaurant among our eclectic mix of eateries on Seacoast Blvd. It's most welcome -- I left a double tip. :-)

House wine is served chilled.. just a heads up. The fig with prosuto appetizer was great. The pasta with boar sausage not so good. We both had it , mine was quite creamy, while my husband’s was dry and lacking sausage. Both lacked flavor. Service was fine.
