Portland’s Best Gluten-Free Restaurants, Food Carts, and Bakeries | Eater Portland

"With multiple permanent restaurant locations and a presence at Portland farmer’s markets, Verde Cocina is a leader in Portland’s gluten-free scene, known for its produce-heavy take on Mexican classics. Each Verde Cocina cafe offers lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch, but it’s the brunch that truly shines, from horchata French toast with New Cascadia challah to Buenos Dias breakfast with scrambled eggs, chickpeas, and smoked pork belly bacon. Non-meat eaters may prefer dishes like vegan chiles rellenos or tofu mole, with even more options available for paleo diners." - Sararosa Davies

10 Best Portland Bars & Restaurants for Mexican Food & Margaritas | Eater

"If an outsider were to imagine Mexican food in Portland, Verde Cocina might be what comes to mind: local, seasonal, Mexican-ish, covering all dietary bases with gluten-free, paleo, and vegan choices. That translates to organic brown rice bowls topped with local Ota family tofu, salsa, and grilled vegetables, and the Nor’wester: sustainable salmon served atop locally grown quinoa, black beans, and topped with pico de gallo, cucumber, and a nondairy poblano-coconut dressing. The food may be proud-and-loud healthy, but that doesn’t preclude cocktails from being well-crafted. There’s an añejo Old Fashioned and a brunchy Bloody Maria with a chile salted rim that’s garnished with Oaxaca cheese and pickled vegetables. The Tequila Cazadores-exclusive cocktail to order: La Generala Warning: You may want to immediately book your next beach vacation after a sip of this cocktail. Made with Tequila Cazadores Reposado, elderflower liqueur, and fresh guava and mango juices, this cocktail is a tropical vacation in and of itself — perfect for summer nights." - Vox Creative

The food is absolutely delicious!! Everything was cooked to perfection. Next visit (yes we will return) I will make sure to take pictures-the food came out looking beautiful. We had gotten the queso fondido for an appetizer, my partner had steak and eggs with a beer and I ordered the street tacos-chicken, carne asada, and veggie. Everything tasted Better than we were expecting! The man serving us was very kind and entertained us with sharing what was on tv when he noticed I was watching. Our experience was-perfection. I would highly recommend this spot for a nice date spot!

Google
First time visiting and I loved all our food! So savory so delicious 🤤 Even my picky eaters enjoyed their meal 👌🏽

Google
Had a great meal here! Our server was very kind and accommodating, from setting up chairs and a table so we could eat outside, to making suggestions on modifying dishes to accommodate food allergies while keeping them tasting great, we couldn’t have asked for better service. And the food was scrumptious!!

*Celiac Review* Oh. My. Gosh. Hands down one of the best dedicated gluten free spots in PDX!!! 1. Mocktails - We ordered the Anne’s Lemonade that featured Lavendar and Lemon notes. After placing our order, they were missing one of the ingredients and offered to make it slightly differently which was still absolutely INCREDIBLE. (See #3 for tea review~) 2. Food - Not only is this place dedicated gluten free so I was able to enjoy every 👏🏼 single 👏🏼 item on the menu without concern for my safety (NOTE—does have dairy items but there are vegan/vegetarian options), but it was truly top tier with each dish we had; We had Mac n Cheese with Pork Belly Bacon, which was probably my favorite dish (PORK BELLY OUT OF THIS WORLD!!). We also had the Verde Enchiladas, as well as Pork Mole (menu name may be slightly different?). Each item was *truly* so delicious in its own right. We also had a black bean cheese dip with chips as an appetizer, and when our food was taking longer to come, our server brought us an extra plate with chips, salsas, and fresh chunky guacamole—which brings me to… 3. Our Server - Jeff gave our entire party the upmost and outstanding service I’ve had from any establishment. Jeff was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, going as far as making suggestions and offering incredible substitutions when applicable. A member of our party got teas that A) Came in a loose leaf fashion already brewed together so he just had to pour and sip (see photo), and B) TASTED INCREDIBLE. So much so our party member asked if he could get the name of the tea and Jeff went as far as bringing some teas to our table to show us the labels (another pleasant surprise, they support local tea business in Bend—we love small biz that supports other small biz!!) as well as smell the different options and let us take pictures of the menu. Additionally, as we got our bill, we expressed wishing we had come for brunch so we could have tried the horchata French toast, and he said we could still get it!!! We’ll have to remember to update this after we try it, but just from the looks of it and based on the previous dishes we’ve tried, you can assume we probably did 👌🏼

Google
Came here for a quick lunch, our server made delicious well balanced margaritas. You can tell they care about quality ingredients and the homemade tortillas reminded me of my grandmas! I would highly suggest checking this place out. We were treated very well and will definitely be coming back.

Google
Gluten free and dairy free available! The best Chips and Salsa, very fresh, crispy and salty, my favorite way! We had beef fajitas and chicken fajitas. Wonderful!

Google
Had the enchiladas and they were delicious! Had chicken and pork. They come with a verde cream sauce that was different but very good. It tastes like a coconut cream sauce you’d find in an Indian dish. Would recommend the enchiladas. The margaritas was good too! Would give more stars for service but they were short staffed and we had waited awhile before getting our drink order placed or interacted. They did give us a sample of the ceviche while we waited for our food so that was nice and appreciated.

Google
Good was good but kinda expensive for what you get. Everything is gluten free!

Yelp
Delicious food great service in a great location of town. The outdoor seating was nice as well.

Yelp
We went to this location for a work lunch. First thoughts - beautiful interior, friendly staff, good smells coming from the kitchen. Ironically, all three of us ordered the same dish (the Verde Enchiladas) and some chips and salsa to get the party started. After not too long, the chips arrive, and we start snacking. Very shortly thereafter, the waiter arrives with three identical orders of tacos... not the enchiladas. It quickly becomes apparent our server accidentally wrote down the wrong item, and he apologizes and quickly heads back to the kitchen. They were able to crank through our order in record time, and our enchiladas were out to us in no time! I was very impressed by the recovery, and the quick work of the kitchen. Thanks for making our order right!! Not to mention, those Verde Enchiladas aren't your typical flavor profile - they have a clever spin on a fan favorite. If you're hankering for some creative Latin comfort food, consider giving Verde Cocina a try!

Yelp
If I could give half stars, I'd give 4.5. Not deserving of a five but still not a four. My wife had the chicken fajita. They only give you three small corn tortillas for a decent portion. The fajita tasted good just a little too much char taste. The cauliflower was a nice add but wasn't cooked enough. The peppers were cooked too well, mushy. I had the chicken tres tacos. Again, lots of toppings for three small tortillas. They need to double up on the tortillas. I felt the chicken chunks were too large for a soft taco. Along with only one soft taco, they didn't hold up, ended up all over the plate. Pico was very good. Only one salsa was hot but the flavor was too strong. Real concentrated. Guac was good. Chips were good. We will definitely come back again.

Yelp
okay, my friend and i had mixed experiences here, but as someone with celiac disease, it would take a lot of bad to keep me away from a dedicated gf restaurant lol! i'd come here again honestly, i would visit for the cheesecake alone. vegan with a cashew base, i got the almond chocolate chip and my friend got the strawberry lime. we both really loved them my fajitas were enjoyable, filling, and a decent price at $15. a couple years ago, the last time i had restaurant fajitas, i had a bad celiac reaction. so just being able to order them with confidence was nice! but my friend was still hungry after their $18 enchilada order. even worse, their iced tea was SIX dollars. like nothing crazy fancy about it. just a standard iced tea--how on earth was it as expensive as the cheesecake?? particularly if you want the guarantee of celiac safety, i'd recommend this place--with reservations lol. definitely check the beverage prices before ordering, and if you're pretty hungry, maybe try asking for a suggestion for one of their dishes that's more filling

Yelp
I'll be honest this place didn't exactly blow me away. I enjoyed the guacamole and the chips seemed like they made fresh out the fryer. I had vegetarian enchiladas (George's). It was okay but I would've liked to see some more texture it was all mush. The decor is cute and the service was fine.
google avatar

Ryan A.

Yelp
Ambiance and service were really good but the food was ok. Not a ton of flavor in the meat for the tacos but the guacamole was super good and they give you so much! The hot sauces were savage as well.

Yelp
Farm to table style fresh and delicious. A very hardy brunch. I love the Wagyu Barbacoa enchiladas with avocado fried egg, avocado and veggies covered with coconut poblano and spicy adobe sauce. It's awesome. I subbed out the pork for the Wagyu so you may not see my dish on the menu? the server in the chef can handle whatever you wanna throw at them they will take care of you. And it's pleasant seating inside and outside.

Yelp
We had a delicious dinner at Verde Cucina a couple of weeks ago. The restaurant is warm and inviting, and their menu offerings are all fresh, tasty and gluten free. We had an excellent meal. However, and I hate to say this, our server was not up to snuff. Originally, we thought maybe it was his first day or maybe the end of his shift, but he stated otherwise. He was not very attentive, he did not tell us the daily specials, he tried to rush us from the moment we were seated, and he tried to close out our check just seconds after our meal was delivered. The restaurant wasn't busy. There were only a couple of other tables with people while we were there. (And they were getting daily special offerings and great service from the other server.) We've eaten here before and had impeccable service. I'm sure we'll give it another try next time we're in Portland. But we'll probably try to eat in the bar. -1 point for service. Otherwise, it likely would have been another 5 star experience.

Yelp
Verde enchiladas and service were the highlights, steak tacos were burnt and disassociative.

Yelp
I cannot believe that I've lived in the Pearl for more than a year without dining here. Don't make the same mistake as I! Verde Cocina is everything I need in a small restaurant. The staff are nice, attentive, and the outdoor patios are great. The immense tree cover, planters, lights, and sturdy private dining booths outside are perfect and I hope they do not ever require long waits to seat there. I ordered the steak and eggs, with the recommendations of the staff to go medium rare and sunnyside up. Everything was tasty, and I really love this style of brunch. The steak could have been less cooked, so that's a good note for me next time. The side vegetables should also have some sort of light sauce, and the carrots could have been cooked more to create a fully softened vegetable salad. The coffee was quite large, too, but I am a fan of smaller coffee portions, so this is likely a personal preference of mine... I do not need a 14 oz coffee after noon, haha. The prices are very good here, and with the nice ambience inside and out, Verde Cocina have a winner here. As it got busier, I did feel pressure to leave, though I was reading and eating quite slowly. I get it - they are well-liked and have a perfect place to enjoy great food any day. I can't wait to return with my next book or friends.

Yelp
Highlights/Lowlights 1) Great Happy Hour Menu 2) OK Food 3) OK Ambiance Stopped in for a late lunch/happy hour during the weekend recently. We arrived around 3pm so the place was a little dead but we were able to be seated right away. We were given menus and perused them for a few minutes before our server stopped by and asked if we wanted to see happy hour menus. We were glad he asked because the happy hour menu was great! I think we were able to do a queso dip for $7 a guacamole for about that and discounted margaritas. We ordered fairly quickly and got our drinks right away but waited a surprisingly long time for our basic happy hour order. Weirdly enough we got our tacos before our guacamole and queso and we did ultimately remind our server that we had ordered the other items. Food was average. Nothing terrible but nothing I would say I'm running to get back to. This was an OK spot that was open late afternoon with friendly service. I would probably give it another try!

Yelp
Went here for brunch the other weekend, and it was wonderful!! Verde Cocina has been on my list to check out since the Bloody Mary Festival this year. The inside of the restaurant has lots of plants and windows. They also have outdoor dining out front. I ordered the huevos rancheros and a bloody maria. The huevos had tons of fresh veggies, and the sauce was so tasty!! If you like some spice, I recommend getting some of their house made hot sauce. The bloody was super good as well and much deserved of the best bloody mary award it received. I can't wait to go back again and try their dinner menu!

Yelp
Cute little spot near where I live. Super friendly staff and pretty healthy menu. I ordered their take on carne asada fajitas. It was certainly a new take, for me, as someone who's enjoyed many Mexican cuisines. I will be back as the food meets my standards and so does the great service :)
google avatar

Yelp
From the moment I walked in I had a great experience. Super attentive staff and great service. I had their Chilaquiles and eggs and added bacon. Excellent. Their guacamole and chips is great. Be sure to get their verde salsa.
google avatar

Angie O.

Yelp
Bland. Salsa was bland, just tomatoes mostly. I had the mole, it was verrrry mildly spicy, but otherwise flavorless. My companion had the fajitas and reported they were also bland. We were both wishing for salt to magically appear on the table. They charged $2 extra for a couple spoonfuls of sour cream. Service was great, so there's that.

Yelp
I recently visited Verde Cocina and tried their Papa & Chorizo dish. Overall, I enjoyed the meal and appreciated the fresh vegetables and well-balanced flavors. I could tell that the ingredients were high quality and healthy, which was a nice touch. However, I do have one minor critique. While the dish was tasty, I wish there was a bit more chorizo and potatoes included. The dish felt more like a breakfast salad with chorizo rather than a true chorizo and potato dish. That being said, I still enjoyed the meal and would recommend it to others. Overall, Verde Cocina is a great spot for fresh and healthy food. If you're in the mood for a flavorful and wholesome meal, I'd definitely recommend checking them out.
google avatar

Kimberly H.

Yelp
Carne asada that is LEGIT steak?! I still can't get over the choice cut of meat provided with this dish! We also tried the verde enchiladas with chicken. I love that it was flavorful without being doused with cheese. My friend kept mentioning that it tastes healthy - not sure if true or not but definitely felt less indulgent than most enchiladas you can get at our restaurant without sacrificing flavor. Staff is a little rough around the edges but overall they're responsive and respectful

Yelp
This review is for the farmers market stand: I recently had the pleasure of trying the chilaquiles at the farmers market, and I have to say, it was a delightful experience. The food was absolutely delicious, and I especially appreciated the inclusion of grilled vegetables on the plate. As a vegetarian, it's always nice to have a bit more variety in my meals, and the vegetables added an extra layer of flavor and texture to the dish. The sauce on the chilaquiles was also excellent, and the fresh cheese added a nice element. I opted to have my eggs cooked over hard, which was done to perfection. Overall, I was very impressed with the quality of the food at this farmers market, and I would definitely recommend giving the chilaquiles a try. Whether you're a vegetarian or just a fan of delicious food, you won't be disappointed.
google avatar

Adria T.

Yelp
I didn't have that great of an experience. I stopped by because this place is close to my house, but I likely won't return. The food was pretty average and the service was relatively slow for it not to be a peak time of day.
google avatar

Kimberly D.

Yelp
Service is always amazing. It is not a place I would choose to go I prefer their grill at the PSU market. But it is my aunt's favorite place when she is in town from LA. She is a vegan, so perfect for her. It is a beautiful space with terra cotta tile floors and a beautiful bar. Loads of seating right in the heart of the ABC district!
google avatar

Yelp
I'll start off by saying that the food itself wasn't terrible but I wouldn't call this authentic Mexican food. As someone who is Mexican and grew up in Mexico and currently live in Arizona, I think I have a good idea on what Mexican food is. We came here after our Uber driver convinced to not go to this other restaurant and told us that this place was the best Mexican food in town (should've stayed at the other place as it genuinely looked authentic) I ordered the enchiladas and the sauce was creamy and coconut flavored- not your traditional enchilada sauce. You get 2 in the order, no sides like beans or rice, so I was still hungry after leaving to be honest. We also got chips and salsa, which the salsa was good and so were the chips but you can tell they are store bought chips. Everything tasted healthy which good too, but again, not the authentic Mexican food people claim it to be.
google avatar

Heather E.

Yelp
Delicious food and yummy drinks, fabulous atmosphere. Very much enjoyed and I will be back. Everything gluten free, vegan/vegetarian options too

Yelp
I can't remember being so pleasantly surprised by a restaurant. We are new to the area and had no idea about this place. A few things threw us off a bit at first but we are so glad we tried them out. We ordered through door dash. It was listed a vegan, but I looked it up and they had carne asada. We went with quesadillas, and it said it came with white garbanzo. We were looking for a late night snack. When it arrived, even through the plastic container I could tell it was pretty and not typical Mexican food. I don't know where it's from or who the chef is, but WOW 5 stars for you. It was grilled veg with the quesadilla, and the grilled veg wasn't onion and peppers... oh no, zucchini, carrot, kale and white beans not garbanzo. It came with sour cream and salsa red and green. Oh... and we got a side of rice, it was brown rice and really tasted great. Shocking. To the chef, give yourself a pat on the back for not following the crowd. We really want to try everything else on the menu. This place should be much higher than 4 stars!!

Yelp
Locally sourced and family owned, Verde PDX Cocina is one of Portland's premiere restaurants. Authentic, home-grown products are utilized here at this fine restaurant. You will find inexpensive meals and phenomenal meal selections for your pallet. We loved eating here today. We ordered bottomless mimosas and Queso Fundido which is comprised of melted cheese, sweet and Yukon gold potatoes, black beans, poblano peppers, veggies, and chips. Delicious and creamy!

Jeff Q.

Yelp
Staff and service was very nice, but the food was bland and expensive for the quality.

Christopher P.

Yelp
Amazing food, great service. WOW what perfect lunch. Definitely coming back again! Really loved my mocktail Pineapple lemonade it was so tasty.

Yelp
This is one those places that you walk into and you wonder how they are still in business. They told us we could sit wherever in the restaurant so I picked a table in the middle. Shortly after we received our drinks a different server came up and told us our section would be closing for a private party in 40 minutes. We would've totally been fine to sit in the bar but was told at the beginning the whole restaurant was available. The whole time we ate the servers were cleaning the section actively around us to get ready for the large party. Very odd vibes to not even have received our food and already feeling like we were being rushed out. The actual food was incredibly medicore. The chips with the guac were the costco tortilla chips. Very obvious that they were not fresh. My wife ordered 3 street tacos and they were 25 dollars for dry, flavorless ribeye. Our whole bill was 75 + tip dollars which felt expensive since we left hungry. A total miss for us in the Pearl. Would not recommend and would not be sad to see this taken over by a legit Mexican place.

Erin S.

Yelp
Loved this place! There were healthy and vegetarian options, but something for those who wanted meat as well. We had the chile rellano (which is roasted and not fried) and we added roast pork as recommended--it was delicious and I'd would go back again just for that dish. Service was excellent. We'll be back next time we are in town.

Yelp
Stopped by here on a road-trip because my partner has a gluten allergy. The convenience of it being gluten free and having outdoor seating is where the positives end. I ordered vegetarian mole, which was gross and unnecessarily spicy (not in a good way). My partner had vegetarian enchiladas, which weren't enchiladas, just soggy tortillas with a flavorless sauce and veggies. I asked for an order of chips and salsa (pointed to it on the menu, too), and the server asked if I wanted "the guacamole, which is included with it." Great, I said. Then my bill came: it was an extra $5 for the guacamole, which was the most bland tasting mix of watery avocado and tomato (seriously, did they add water to it?). To top it off, the service was horrible. I heard the server telling the customers around us (but never us) that they seated 15 tables in 10 minutes, with only two servers. Hire more servers, or have less tables. After an hour and a half and $50, we left feeling gross and still hungry. Gluten free Taste Service Authenticity

Yelp
Brunch, Dinner, or high-quality drinks-- they do it all. I want to note that their drink, beer, mezcal and non-alcoholic options are unmatched. I always order the agua fresca since that have half a dozen flavors. Verde Cocina has come to be my favorite place to consistently visit in Portland. They are a locally owned gem serving paleo, vegan, and gluten free options of traditional Latin American cuisine and they do it all so well. As someone with a number of dietary restrictions, this place is a must for delicious dishes full of vegetables and incredible flavors. What's more is the incomparable staff. Everyone who has ever served me at Verde Cocina is not only outwardly friendly, but excited to see you. They go above and beyond to make sure you have a delightful experience. I cannot wait to go back.

Deepa N.

Yelp
Not authentic flavors, but good enough for it to call Mexican. Host and servers were good. Good service. Just food is for more white palate.
google avatar

Darin C.

Yelp
The restaurant/bar allows kids in the bar and I've been actively working with the OLCC and my local government representative to repeal the legislation that allows restaurants that allow this. I have been in the bar when the restaurant has been vacant and there is no need for noisy kids to be allowed in the adult portion of the bar and that is why I rate this restaurant so low.

Cindy R.

Yelp
The food was delicious, fresh and flavorful, as well as beautifully prepared. Service was excellent as well. For appetizers we ordered the queso fundido and the guacamole & chips, Both were wonderful. For the main course I had the carne asada and my husband had shrimp fajitas. It was a very enjoyable meal.

Yelp
Pandemic isn't over yet - by far. Is there any good coming out ? Well I don't think so - cause all the bad and ugly and personal losts are overweight all good. But it had businesses like restaurants to adopt. And hopefully one thing stays when this all is over eventually: sitting outside and have brunch on the street. It's so refreshing. Verde also have curbside eating and for todays brunch I'll go with their Guacamole and Chips - really fresh and with chunky pieces it comes with two sauces on the side as well green and red both not to hot and a good combination. I would eat it all the time and it's just as we would make it at home. I'll had the the small verde salad and I added some chicken and pork belly bacon. The salad is with apples and that brings always such a brightness in the mix. Combined with fresh tomatoes, cucumber and greens it was a good meal with the proteins added. Healthy and delicious. If you know me you will expect a but. Yes yes here it is: the pork belly bacon - as delicious as it was, when I'll advertise something as bacon I want it to be crispy - but that's just me haha. It was really good pork belly. Another highlight of the salad was the strawberry vinaigrette, perfect for dipping and a reason to ask the waiter for a second container. So good it is just perfect to the greens. And talking about waiter, they are friendly and really fast. You felt welcome from the beginning. Another beautiful day in sunny Portland. Another five star review since there is nothing to take down from verde!

Yelp
Verde Cocina en la Perla is my favorite mexican restaurant in Portland! During a week long business trip to Portland, I had the pleasure of eating at Verde Cocina a few times. A quaint lil restaurant in the pearl district, close to my hotel. I loved the chile relleno, the carne asada, and the gringas con mole. I've been eating mexican food my entire life, but Cocina Verde is just different. It feels really healthy, and doesn't weigh you down like typical mexican food. All the ingredients were fresh. Its really nice to sit down to such amazing food. The staff were polite and friendly, and I was seated right away. The drinks were pretty good too. They make a killer margarita! I highly suggest you try. Good vibes and atmosphere.

DawnDee H.

Yelp
Normally I love a good dinner at Verde, but tonight it was not good! Ordered the steak sampler, which the waiter failed to mention was meant for more than one person. Also was not asked how I wanted it prepared, when it arrived it was cooked to "well done". Needless to say, this will only be good for a doggie bag.....

Yelp
Looked this place up, seemed legit and close to our hotel. It is SO legit. We had the best experience here with both the food and staff. Our server / catering manager was so passionate about the food and was able to explain what was special about each dish and ingredient. I had the Mac & Cheese with carne asada, baby bear the carne asada entree with smashed sweet potatoes and a side of queso that we ALL enjoyed. The shrimp fajitas were 10/10 and the homemade salsas were divine according to Kasey Bear. Great drinks, the house made everything was good, especially the spicy margarita.

Hayden J.

Yelp
I have a hard time rating this place because it's very up and down. The service was excellent, our server was very nice and seated us despite not having a reservation. Though the ambiance was just fine, though didn't have a big issue with it. The drinks were fantastic, no complaints there. Though for a Mexican restaurant the food lacked flavor. I have been to far better mexican restaurants. The guacamole was delicious despite the other food just being ok.

Yelp
I love Verde Cocina. It's probably one of my favorite restaurants in the pearl district. I go almost weekly great food for pick up. The proportions of meat are very, very large. They do not mess. My favorite thing on the menu is the Paleo bowl with either pork or salmon. Just make sure you salt your food as it is healthy and it does need salt occasionally.

Yelp
I'm not sure how I'm just finding this restaurant but what a treat!! Food was out of this world. Service was outstanding. Excellent dining experience. Your enchiladas have got me addicted.

Yelp
We landed here by mistake, actually. We had headed out to an Italian place, fresh with our OpenTable reservation. Arrived, and wandered around looking for the place. Finally called, and Verde told us that the restaurant had closed over a year ago, and they were now in that space. Lucky for us, in retrospect! We left our name on the waiting list, and less than 10 minutes later had a lovely little table outside, fully enclosed and private, with a zippered entrance. Everything felt clean and safe, the staff were wonderful, and always approached with care to never share our direct space. One of the two best COVID experiences I have had dining out - great job! Food was excellent, and the drinks were fabulous as well. We will absolutely be back, and more than once. Note - each little bubble has its own over the head heater as well. However, if a cold night, I would recommend some sort of shoe with socks, and avoid that skirt with the 6 inch heels - save that for after dinner. It can get a bit drafty under the table.

Yelp
I can't comment on the food because unfortunately we were never served. The host seated us, and the inside was pretty empty on a warm day in early June so we chose a big corner booth which was near the back - our mistake, apparently. We waited more than 20 minutes for a server to come to us and they never did. Someone even cleaned the table right next to us and we tried to get their attention to let them know we were ready to order but they didn't see us. Eventually walked up to the front to try and get someone's attention in case there was some kind of miscommunication and the server was never told that they seated someone there. I couldn't get anyone's attention. We were getting really hungry and were trying to make it out to a show after dinner so we couldn't afford to wait around, and had to leave. The menu and drinks looked amazing. I especially appreciate how many options they seem to have for people with dietary restrictions- including vegan, gluten-free and paleo options. I understand that many places are understaffed and mistakes happen but I wanted to leave this review so management is aware there are some issues to work on. I will try to come again some time and give it another go.

Yelp
Amazing food. We had such a great dinner experience that we had to go back for brunch before leaving. Service was great.

Yelp
Fresh, not expensive , it's a hidden gem in the Pearl. We come here 1-2x per week. Highly recommend it.

Yelp
We stopped in for lunch on a whim and were pleasantly surprised at their extensive gluten-free menu. Our server was knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. The dishes were tasty and the presentation was excellent. We decided in the Chile Rellenos with pork, the Enchiladas Verde with chicken and the Gringas con mole with chicken. Although the chicken mole dish was nice, the chocolate sauce was a tad too sweet. It isn't easy to make authentic mole, and this one wasn't objectionable. However, it didn't have that in-depth character with the understated sweetness that makes an authentic mole dish so incredible. Notwithstanding, the other two dishes we tried were fantastic. Overall I can highly recommend this restaurant for their interesting gluten-free dishes as well as their friendly service.

Yelp
My wife and I were looking for a new place that offers drinks and vegan options. It was her birthday. We came across this place. What a score. The ambience was great. Layed back and chill. Our waiter was Jeff. He was great in recommending a good birthday drink for my wife. And the food was amazing. I got tofu tacos, my wife got tofu mole and our daughter Mac and cheese with tofu. All of it great. And the birthday dessert sealed the deal. Thank you Jeff for a great time and great foods.

Yelp
I hadn't realized they moved - basically just around the corner. Same delicious food, great atmosphere and we had great service. We had a group of 5 that arrived around 7:30p on a Thursday. They were busy but not full so we were seated and served quickly. Very friendly staff.

Yelp
Found this place because I was looking for somewhere with heart healthy options and was very impressed. They have lots of options, all chocked full of veggies. The guacamole was good but could have used some heat. I can't complain too much as I've did fill up on it anyways. They offer dishes with tofu, chicken, and salmon too in order to accommodate all diets. I had the tofu fajitas and my bf had the chicken fajitas. It was not what we expected as not traditional fajitas but it was delicious! My dad got one of the paleo bowls with salmon and enjoyed it as well. They also offer a wide selection of non alcoholic drinks in addition to local wine and beer. Great place to take the family or anyone who has special dietary needs.

Yelp
We needed something delicious with healthy options that didn't break the bank for date night. Eric was our waiter and he was AMAZING. Personable and sweet, got us everything we needed in a timely manner. The food was so freaking good. The salsa that comes with chips and salsa is very bland but cold and refreshing so Eric brought us out some salsa with a kick and we mixed that into the other salsas. We had a great meal.
