Drifted in as a foodie friend said, " Hip new Restaurant In CM" Came into a smooth bar vibe ,some fresh music and comfortable bar stools. Had to try the most creative cocktails Ive seen in a long time . Being a East coast city guy it takes alot to impress. How about The" Overnight Celebrity", with infused Campari, take a sip of the "Cigarettes and Coffee" a Rye based drink seldom seen, any more with Havana Bitters, or the " Definitely Not a Cosmo" with Tequila, go to the website you will see my favorite " Old Man Trouble" There were three of us including a NYC couple who eat out 3 nights a week The apps we split were eclectic mix. the Salmon and Hamachi, and the Onion spread laced with Cognac , two salads u can get with chicken, Salmon or shrimp, both tasty Farmers Market Lettuce and Duck Salad confit with belgian endive and sage covered Garbanzo, both very different,The Dinner was mix a Pacific striped bass with parsnips and Brus Sprouts cooked perfectly , a Hanger steak with anchovy sauce was good but could have been a slightly crisper on the outside but the anchovy sauce was as should be "Not to strong".The Seafood stew was as good as my last one at La Maseria in New York. Plenty of veggie hot and cold options,, A better than most List of Craft beers and a unique blend of wines by the glass. Two veteran restaurant friends Anthony and Koire head up the operation and Chef Paula Balderrama helming The back of the house, make a team that will be a sure winner in the Crowded Costa Mesa restaurant scene. There is a outside patio and upstairs room for private parties , Comfortable ,seating all around with service better than most especially for a new operation..Looks like could be a good stop late evening burger as they serve till 10 or so?
