Verde Wine Bar and Ristorante

Comfort food for some comes in the form of mac and cheese, fried chicken, or maybe even a PB&J sandwich. For me, my comfort food is anything on Verde's menu. Their food is so dang tasty! There's a familiarity with their dishes (which, along with their cocktail menu, change seasonally) but the ingredients and garnishes are so well thought out that they elevate the dish to the next level. And don't EVEN get me started on their mixed drinks! Long story short, Verde is one of - if not - my favorite restaurants on the Island and we never fail to bring out-of-town guests and friends here. I've been hesitant to post a review for fear they'll get so busy and crowded that my husband and I will no longer be able to just walk in and sit at the bar. But the food, drinks, and service are so on point here that it'd be selfish - even criminal - of me to not post their awesomeness on here.

Every dish is delicious. Especially the veal, it's better than any other place I have.

My favorite restaurant on LI. Even if I'm not hungry, if someone suggests going to Verde, I'm there. The service is TOP notch. The most impressive waitstaff- they are so on top of everything. Very knowledgeable, prompt, eager to please and super friendly and fun to talk to. I feel very taken care of when I go. My bf has a gluten allergy and it's one of the few restaurants where we feel 100% comfortable with how the food is prepared. They take it very seriously and do everything in their power to accommodate. The food is spectacular and so creative. Their suppliers are local, menu changes with the season and the ingredients are very interesting. Not your typical Italian joint! We LOVE the offal menu and always order 1 or 2 dishes from it every time. It's just so fun to come here, chitchat with the staff, try new things and leave totally stuffed :).

LOVED, loved, loved Verde. I just took my boyfriend here for his birthday last weekend and it was the first time here for the both of us. The place looked really amazing and the food was even better! They had a really nice selection of food and I literally wish I could've tried everything on the menu (hence why we will be going back!). The owner introduced himself and explained a little bit about the restaurant which we both thought was really nice. The only downside was the chairs.. super uncomfortable. I hope they will get better ones in the future. The menu was also a little awkward being on a clip board. I wish they would just get the menu's bound or something like that. Loved it! Will definitely be a returning customer. Thank you!

The atmosphere was great. Perfect for what my wife and I were looking for on our night away from the kids. They have a very extensive wine menu, and a decent craft beer menu. As per the server's recommendation, I got the rabbit leg. It was the first time I'd ever had rabbit, and it was delicious.

This is one of my favorite restaurants, just found out about it a few months ago and I have been back 6 times. Eclectic choices integrated with classic old time faves. Thoughtful prep. Staff is educated on the food. Great wine and spirit choices. If I lived closer I would go every week.

We absolutely loved this restaurant. It has a rustic Italian atmosphere and the food is absolutely wonderful. Compared to other restaurants in the area, this spot is on the higher end of both quality and price, though a good meal still won't break the bank. For those who grew up in Italian households, this restaurant will definitely bring back memories of Grandma's pasta and meatballs.
