The Best Hangover Cure Restaurants in Montreal | Eater Montreal

"You don’t need meat to cure a hangover — in fact, you’re probably better off if you avoid it. Italian 100 percent vegan restaurant Verdi has gluttonous but oh-so-tasty meatless pizzas, KFC-esque fried chicken (without the chicken), pasta, and tasty dairyless desserts. For those who tend to sleep in when hungover, be sure to set an alarm, as this place closes at 3 p.m." - JP Karwacki

We’ve been coming to Verdi for years, and it’s become a go-to in my family! Consistently good food and the grounds are beautiful. We love coming at sunset! The cold antipasto platter and short rib are a must. The staff is always pleasant and we’ve never had a bad meal here. Pro tip: get the green goddess dressing on your salad!

I made reservations here at my inlaws favorite restaurant before they moved to Florida. It was a great way for us to get together and enjoy each other's company and celebrate in a place that felt like home. My husband, son, and I have been here a few times before with my inlaws and they have been here countless times and think incredibly highly of it. My brother in law and sister in law got to experience it for the first time and traveled from New Hampshire to celebrate with us. I had made reservations for our group because it was bigger and the service was amazing as always, the atmosphere is inviting and welcoming like dinner at Grandma's if she had a fabulous Italian restaurant. We started off with drinks, which were delicious, I got a cosmopolitan. We shared a few apps, the Foglia de Salving Ripieno was absolutely a show stopper, it was creamy, sweet and savory and seared in a plate of white and red sauce that just added to the flavor party. I got the Eggplant Parm, and had the Caesar salad with mine, the dressing was rich and creamy, and by the time we got to our meals I was already prepared to save most of mine for the next few days of lunches (I have already finished the last of mine off today), and the richness of the sauce mixes with the peppery breading on the eggplant was the perfect combination of flavors. I planned to save room for dessert because the flourless chocolate cake is something you cannot miss, it is the perfect amount of richness, that is complemented by the ice cream. Absolutely a must try. And thank you for an amazing meal, we all truly appreciate it.

Came to celebrate with the family. Very nice and clean restaurant right next to the golf course for those who enjoy golfing. Friendly staff and great food.

Google
This place is just down the street from where we live on a local golf course. There is indoor and bar seating year around and outdoor seating when seasonal weather permits. Food is very good no matter if it is a burger off of the bar menu or a full course meal. Service has always been outstanding. Bar can get crowded with golfers but we have never needed a reservation. They also have a banquet room for parties and business gatherings. We have never been disappointed.

Google
First time at Verdi. Cannot believe we waited so long to go there! Service was exceptional. Food was likely the best we’ve had in any restaurant in years!! The owner Tony even checked in on us! This will now be our first go-to place every weekend. Thanks for making our first time so great!!

Google
Had a private event there on Sunday and it was amazing!! Food and service was great!! Beautiful setting and great atmosphere. They do not disappoint. Highly recommended!!

Google
Some of the best sandwiches in the area. Roast beef is a go to. Chicken Italiano is also excellent. They used to put garlic in the fries, but unfortunately don't seem to do that anymore. Still very good, but used to be elite. Great patio area overlooking the golf course. Tito's and pink lemonades on tap hit the spot.

I've been to this establishment more times than I can count & always forget to leave a review. They do a great job if you want to have a larger event (shower, birthday party, retirement party, etc.). The warmer months are my my favorite times to go so we can sit outside. Last time here there was a confusion with our reservation, we thought our large party of 13 was supposed to be outside, but they had us inside (trust me, they did not want us inside). The waitress put together tables outside for us & made it work, so sweet. Love the food here & the drinks are made to our liking. Plenty of parking.

Yelp
My daughter and I were looking for a new place to eat. We go out enough to know what's good. We Brought my grand daughter along who is only 3. I'm very fussy but this was good food. The Jumbo schrimp cocktail was just that JUMBO and it was fresh and delicious. I love fish so I ordered Salmon and it was fabulous no tartar sauce needed here! The place was packed and we got a table too close to the doorway into the dinning room which made it noisy and distracting. There was a party going on in the outdoor bar and the staff had to keep coming by our table. Unfortunately, the service was a little slow. But the food was worth waiting for. When it's busy it's hard for any restaurant to be quick and the staff worked very hard even though our order took a while the staff seemed like they had rocket powered sneakers on. Which left me wondering where my food went to. But the waitress was efficient and got our orders right and it was hot. My daughter had a chicken pasta dish which she was raving about and my grand daughter had pizza which was really fabulous though a little heavy on the cheese it tasted wonderful. We considered dessert. They didn't have our favorite creme brûlée so I chose the almond cake and I was quite disappointed since it wasn't sweet at all and was just like whip cream instead of frosting without the sweet taste. Overall though, we will be back because the food is just mouth watering the service hard working and polite even the owner asked us how we liked it. Naturally gave him a thumbs up. This is a great choice to eat out. Anne A. Naugatuck, Ct.

Yelp
If you like Beef short rib then this is a good one. Tender, fall apart but still flavorful, with a brothy gravy like topping. Served with vegetables and these beef tortellacci. The salad dressing I got was an Italian vinaigrette - and I'm usually picky with those but I loved it. The chicken soup was like eating my own family's home made. Perfect blend and flavor, such a simple item, yet perfect. The mashed potatoes were good as well, and the fish fresh and tasty. The service was polite and fun environment. The dining area is tinier so reserve if you plan to go. Maybe next time when it's nicer out looking forward to the outdoor scenic spot.

Yelp
Couldn't give this a 5. Twice I've been there and ordered "boneless wings". Sorry but they should not call breaded chicken tenders tossed in sauce "boneless wings". This must be their standard version of wings. Pretty lame. Everything else was good. If you want drummies, go elsewhere.

Yelp
We try to go for Sunday dinner for the great fresh pasta, excellent service, personal attention as owner, Tony D. brought our entrée to our table and spoke to us! The rice pudding and bomba gelato dessert was superb too!
google avatar

Yelp
Nice place for lunch. We were able to sit outside on the roofed patio and it was a beautiful day. Our server was very friendly and patient especially with my grandmother. We ordered wings for apps, drinks, fish and chips, a pasta special, chicken and broccoli rabe sandwich, chicken napolitano, finished with rice pudding. I thought the food was excellent from the crispy Buffalo tenders to my delicious spicy chicken napolitano dish. The chicken dish had grilled chicken, cherry peppers and potato wedges- it was the perfect lunch dish! Would definitely recommend! We finished our lunch with some rice pudding. Rice pudding could be a hit or miss out but this rice pudding was out of this world! I loved it! I would love to come back when the full patio is open. Service was a bit slow during the day but other than that it was great time!

Yelp
Always a good time at Verdi. Excellent food and drinks. Great staff and owners are always on scene.

Len Z.

Yelp
We've known owners Joanne & Tony for years throughout them owning different restaurants. They are great people & always come through with great staff & food. Our waitress Carrie was excellent. Food was great, we got the Saturday night special prime rib, scallop dinner, chicken penne alla vodka, & shrimp Ceaser salad. Also got a few desserts. All were 5 stars!

Mike T.

Yelp
I've been to Verde enough times to know what to expect. For example, they (normally) bring the table some nice fresh Italian bread with EVOO for dunking. And their appetizers and meals rarely disappoint. It's just what you're looking for from an Italian restaurant. Well this past Friday (July 26th) apparently the bread ran short... senza pane!. Listen, I get it things happen and you shake it off. What I don't like is when the staff thinks you don't know any better and they just don't come clean. I know...I know it's only bread, but say something up front and we'll all be better for it. It's the trust you'd expect. Capisci? I still give the place 4 stars. Prego.

Yelp
You rarely see old-school service like this any more. What started as a potential disaster ended up with one of the most enjoyable evenings I had in quite a while. I learned a good friend was appearing at Verdi with his orchestra. I immediately called and made my reservation. The person on the other end of the phone was a bit confused about my request, but eventually, realized what I wanted, and I was set. Or, so I thought. Bestie and I arrived about 10 minutes before my reservation. A very nice woman at the lectern took my name, and asked me to wait. In short order, a gentleman, Tony, came over and asked when I made the reservation, and with whom I spoke. He shuffled and scanned several papers and admitted they didn't have my table listed. At many places, it would have ended there with Bestie and I finding somewhere else for dinner, but Tony said, "I'll see if I can fit you in." Before he left, he showed me the reservation form, and at the bottom, at my requested time, was a single reservation, with the most garbled spelling of my name ever. I pointed this out, and Tony laughed, apologized, and showed us immediately to our table, one of the best seats in the house. From there, it went incrediblecularly! Our server, Anthony, came right over, brought menus, took our drink orders, and asked what else he could do right then. We explained we would like to linger over drinks and listen to the entertainment before we ordered, and he sped off, returning quickly with out traditional martinis. I think he was very glad we were relaxing for a bit, since the room was packed and there were some very needy tables that demanded his attention whenever he walked past them. Our lectern guy made it a point to check on us a couple of time, even referring to me as "Mr. L". When it seemed things quieted down a bit for him, we got his attention and placed our order, along with a bottle of wine. That came out quickly, and it wasn't long before our dinner came out from the kitchen. Food was hot, well-presented and delicious! We scarfed it down, and ordered dessert with coffee and cordials, something we rarely do, but we were having a great time, and really didn't want the evening to end. I must add, the entertainment was incredible, and added to the evening. We settled up, leaving Anthony a great tip, and made plans for our next visit. I cannot recommend this establishment highly enough.

Yelp
Returned last week and had a lovely time. I ordered the bramble (?) drink. I guess they didn't have some of the Ingredients on hand- but went on a quest to accommodate. While it took a LOOOONNG time for my drink to arrive- our VERY wise waiter brought two for one- any delay is immediately forgiven. The food was good- get the fried cheese served with Alfredo and marinara sauces- fantastic. Our friends enjoyed their dirty gin martinis and selections from the specials menu such as stuffed mushrooms and the short rib. We will continue to return- everything was great.

Yelp
Overall food is good and then have classic dishes but also some interesting things that are a little different than your typical Italian restaurant. Atmosphere is nice, inside is a bit dated but its an overall good restaurant with reasonable prices. Wife and I both really liked out meals, everything was nicely done and we will definitely return. The service was a little off the though but it was the day (lunchtime) before Thanksgiving. Which I am sure they were preparing for. The issue we had was we didn't know who was waiting on us as we were somewhat in between a waitress and a waiter.

Yelp
In the need of some homemade chicken soup I ordered delivery online. As their menu states, "just like grandma made" describes it best. I like that they use the small pearl pasta too. The teriyaki marinated chicken appetizer served with salad was the perfect portion for a light lunch, fresh and tasty. But the Foglia de Salving Ripeno (Layered mozzarella with fresh basil dipped in a white wine Beignet batter Flash fried served over Marinara and Alfredo sauces) stole the show! I've never had anything like it. Such a unique spin on typical fried mozzarella. It's 3 pillows of heaven - Light, fluffy and gooey cheesy fritter-like pockets. Even tasted delicious as takeout (asked for the sauces on the side) pictures don't do it justice!

Yelp
I have been here many times always a great experience. Food and service are very good you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
Went here for a retirement party the place is nice and clean, woman's bathroom is huge. The way they set the round tables ugh the man behind me kept bumping into the back of my chair, the lady was trying to squeeze through pulled my hair it was annoying and horrible. The Food really wasn't that great their chicken with Lemon was moist on the inside but extremely soggy, their roast beef would of been better if it had been served with some gravy, the pasta was good, the salad had very little dressing so it was dry. The Food needed salt like I feel bad for the person paying because it was just crap.

Barbara R.

Yelp
I held a Retirement party at Verdi's last weekend. This is our Favorite Restaurant. Everything was perfect. The food is always on point and the room was perfect. The owners and Staff are the best!!!! Thanks for a great day

Ant C.

Yelp
Very disappointed with the entire experience. I see great reviews but I cannot agree with them. We waited an hour and a half for our food. We had to send our drinks back for remake. Wait staff disappeared. Caesar salad w/chicken stingy portion, too much dressing . Caprese salad thrown together with remnants of pcs of onions underneath and a radish wth. Overpriced plus they added 18% gratuity. $80.00. Paid for an awful meal and paid for your disappearing waitstaff. We will not return.

Yelp
I love this place, first time we've been here in years and what improvement. We will be back again for sure. I had the veal chop Parmesan was wonderful, calamari with peppers and Gorgonzola perfect. And the service was outstanding our family enjoyed it.

Yelp
Great place to go with friends and have a delicious dinner! Verdi offers many good options and a great atmosphere. You can dress to impress or go casual. They have great outdoor seating and 3 different areas to choose from. Heaters and propane fire pits are available as well. I love going here with my friends and family. Staff and service is excellent!

Others had ville saltimbucca And fried clams. The salad the bread the drinks the dessert or absolutely delicious Lee delicious I would highly recommend this place to anybody looking for a good meal and service.

Yelp
I think it's worth starting this review by saying that I have yet to visit this place for like a "proper" sit down dinner. What I HAVE visited for were a couple of sports dinner/banquets and one smaller family party. That being said, I'm confident that I have a pretty good high level feel for the place. First and foremost if you ever visited before the new owners took over and had a bad experience, throw that right out the window and try it again. New owners, new food, new vibe. Consider it a whole new place. For the sporting events we had, it was strictly a catered type of affair which for the most part usually makes me go "ehhhhhhhhhhh". Just not a huge fan of huge pans of mass-produced food in general. I will say without hesitation that this was the best catered-type food I've ever had, or at least that I can remember. Everything was perfectly cooked and seasoned and warm and felt like something that I actually ordered just for me. I'm not saying it was as good as an individually prepared entree, but it was in my opinion as close as it gets. Totally happy and satisfied. For our family reunion dinner, it was about 15 people and consisted of a multi-course shared/large plate type of deal. Basically, a bunch of plates on the table and everyone passes it around. This....was...amazing. It was the first time in a long time that I've had this kind of meal and it was just awesome front to back. Great selection of food, plenty of food overall and no complaints anywhere from any of us. Just a great time all around. Penne Alla Vodka was just ridiculous. The other standout across the board at all the functions was the service. Just super attentive and super helpful without being constantly all up in your grill. Amazing and clearly well-trained staff here, they're doing it right. Atmosphere-wise, we were in the banquet room for the sports functions and that was about as awesome as a banquet room gets. Great outdoor area with some amazing views. For the sit-down dinner, we were in the bar area and it was a hopping Saturday night so it was, very bar-like. But totally okay and not super loud and everyone seemed super chill. Again, no complaints. Overall I would say that if you're looking for a great meal at a great location, this place should be at or near the top of your list.
google avatar

Leo M.

Yelp
Never a bad meal at this place had the cheese cavatelli with broccoli rabe and sausage which was done to perfection. Wait staff is courteous and prompt even the owner comes around to check that everything is ok. My favorite place in the area.
google avatar

Nicole M.

Yelp
This is only the second time I was here since I'm not from the area but came down for a party! It's clean and the staff is friendly and organized. The food was a buffet and it was delicious. The owner was helping set up the party when we arrived and was so helpful and had a great upbeat attitude. Whether you live near by or it's a little bit of a drive it's worth it! Be sure to try the rice pudding!!

Ari M.

Yelp
OVERRATED! Ordered takeout because this place had good reviews. Calamari looked like it was served for a dine in, they didn't eat it all, and they tossed it in a takeout container and sent it to me. See pictures. This was how I received it. Ordered a burger and fries were super soggy and so dark from the old oil that everyone thought they were sweet potato fries. You'll get a better burger .3 mi away at jakes Wayback, no, seriously. And you'll get a better chicken wraps from Spartans. There won't be a next time from us.
google avatar

Allison C.

Yelp
The food was very good and we really enjoyed sitting outside. The waiter was friendly and attentive. Took us a little while to get noticed when we first walked in because no one was standing at the hostess stand, but that's really my only complaint. I would come back.
google avatar

Michele R.

Yelp
Very good! I had the penne alla vodka here and it was super creamy and well made! Large selection of desserts on the menu. Also, bartender Dennis even came over to our table to make sure the drinks were good. Will be back.
google avatar

Yelp
Pleasantly surprised. We stopped in to watch some of the Masters to find a crowded bar around 8 PM on Friday evening. The bartender was busy but quick to serve us our drinks. We ordered 4 appetizers. We had the mozzarella special, which stole the show. Three small balls of mozzarella very lightly battered and placed amongst a bed of alfredo and marinara. Light, tastefully done and airy. Secondly we had the mushroom risotto, we are hard to please when it comes to risotto and this was cooked perfectly. Small portion which was perfect for the two of us to share and still hearty and filling. Third was the grilled octopus over a cold noodle salad. I enjoyed the salad and the octopus but individually. The combination was a little off for me. But flavors were good. Lastly we ordered the grilled calamari but the order was misinterpreted and we ended up with two octopus dishes instead. We weren't charged for that dish but I'd definitely like to try it next time. The espresso martinis were some of the best I've had in a very long time. We will definitely be returning.

Yelp
3 degrees, the coldest day of the year so far. Hunger set it in, it was about around 830 pm before my owners start to move around. We door dashed some verdi because we weren't moving from under the blankets. I tried the meat and cheese platter it was outstanding. My dad air fried the fries and I swatted a few of those suckers around the room until he broke it up into smaller pieces for me. Mom had the arugula salad, I steered clear, but she kept smelling it in weird ways must have been good!

Mark D.

Yelp
My wife and I recently had my retirement party at Verdi's. The food and service was excellent and everyone there attending agreed. My wife and I have been going there for years and the food and service has always been great. I highly recommend this place for any event or just to eat out. The owners are very friendly and are willing to work with you.
google avatar

Lauren P.

Yelp
This was the best chicken parm I've ever had. Not only didn't the appetizers make me want to live there forever (we got the meat and cheese plate and calamari) but the chicken parm sauce was to die for. The interior is very nice and has a beautiful view of the golf course. The bartender was friendly and we got our drinks quickly! I'm somewhat of a wine snob and they had a great collection to pick from. I would recommend this place for families, date night, or just a fun group of friends dinner!

Judy R.

Yelp
Had the pleasure of attending a retirement party recently. Excellent service, and the food was so good. Chicken was so tender and tasty, huge portion of beef, great pasta and much more. Salad dressing was excellent. Would highly recommend this well appointed restaurant.

Yelp
Got a couple grinders Italian combos after golf authentic ingredients great bread and service a must if you like golf and good food.

Steve B.

Yelp
This place probably doesn't need another 5 star review, however I believe that it would be only proper and all together fitting to acknowledge and mention how good the hospitality was in addition to the excellent level of service we were provided. We had a small group ranging from a 100 year old WWII veteran, in a wheelchair, to a small 4 year old child. Each one has their own needs, however the people at Verdi, including the owner himself, I believe his name is Anthony, set out from the moment we walked in the door to insure we had a pleasant dining experience. I would assume that anyone who has dined here knows that the quality of the food being served, as well as its preparation, is difficult to be surpassed. Prime steak, Plume De Veau Veal , along with a selection of fresh seafoods, which have almost all been completely eradicated from the menus of most restaurants due to the significant increase in food costs associated with today's inflation, are standard offerings on their menu. Neither the quality or the portion sizes, which were incredibly large, were being compromised on account of inflation. What is hard to understand is the cost. I couldn't prepare this food at home for what they charge. In addition they still provide bread, soup or salad as part of each meal. If you go there on a beautiful day and sit on one of the outdoor terraces overlooking the golf course and the beautiful hills of Waterbury, CT, you couldn't ask for a better setting, better service, or better food than what you will get here. Thank you to all who made our dining experience GREAT!

Yelp
This place is great food and I'm very fussy about my food! Cocktails were also amazing!!! Service was great too!

Yelp
Good meal. Horrendously slow service. waiting well over an hour for food to be delivered.

Denise B.

Yelp
Went here for a private party and was thoroughly impressed with food, service, and atmosphere. Lemon chicken was a very nice change and done well. Salad was a nice blend and was not overdressed. ALL of the food was great as was the service outstanding.

Yelp
I have known the D'Amelio's for years. I am around the same age as their children and have attended school with them for as long as I can remember. We have been to Verdi's a handful of times. My mom and I really like seafood overall and Verdi's has some of the best crab cakes I've ever had. They are coated in potato chips and cooked perfectly. Their pasta fagioli is so good too. It's a close second to the best pasta fagioli in Waterbury- The Ponte Club. The one star deduction is due to the fact that the last time we came here, the waitress was careless. She only had two tables at the time and ended up switching the bills of the other table. It was a headache and resulted in 45 of a delay until we could leave because no one could figure out how to void the transaction. But the food is magnificent!
google avatar

Donna R.

Yelp
A friend and I went on a Sunday afternoon when it wasn't busy at all so I was hesitant as I had never been there before but we were there so we decided to try it. 5 STARS ! ! ! Awesome drinks, Anthony our server was very attentive and friendly; we loved him! The calamari was perfect and this other appetizer we ordered with bruschetta and goat cheese covered with some type of sweet vinaigrette was to die for!! Can't wait to go back and try the entrées - I'm sure they'll be delish !!

Yelp
*PLEASE DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE. THE CRAZIEST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE.* So I'll try and keep this short and sweet guys. I went in with my two friends, everything was great until the end. I asked Dennis, the bartender who was waiting on us to split the calamari ($14) 3 ways on our debit cards. He said "really?!" with a huge attitude. Another waitress, Amber came over and argued with us until we said we weren't going to pay until the manager comes. After that she quickly figured it out. She then followed my friends and me into the bathroom and screamed "really?! You guys work in the restaurant business and gave me a $1 tip?! Are you kidding me?!" Yep. The waitress really did just follow me into the bathroom because she's sad about her tip. I Wish I was making this up. The tip was bad because the service was terrible. There's no way I'm paying a penny for my food if my waitress that didn't even serve my food follows me to the bathroom to yell at me for a tip. I ask for my money back. The bartender says "no fuc***ng way". I ask for the managers number. As I'm calling the waitress is yelling at us. The bartender & our previous (45+ yr old) server is saying "are you guys from Wolcott? You're so fuc**** annoying. Get the fu*k out. You're pathetic. You're embarrassing." Mind you he served me a beer without checking my ID, even tho he's a bartender. I'm probably not the best person to be swearing at. We call the cops. As soon as he hears me talking to the officer on the phone he gives me $60 and tells me to get the fu*k out. As we're leaving Amber & Dennis are both swearing at us as we leave. I am disgusted. Horrified. Never letting any of my friends or family go here again. I was genuinely scared. Not a safe environment.

Yelp
We hosted an event under the outdoor tent and it was wonderful. The food was delicious, the staff were extremely pleasant, attentive, and helpful, and the owners were terrific in planning and facilitating the event. We really appreciated the quality, attention, and presentation, and will certainly go back again!

Garfield W.

Yelp
Went to Verdi's yesterday. What a huge disappointment. Our server was Chrissy, who treated us like she had her car running. She rattled through our options like a auctioneer. She then would disappear for huge stretches of time. She managed to bring us bread plates but we never saw any bread. During one of her disappearing spells, another server asked if we had a server and went to get her. When she came back she unapologetically stated that she went to find ginger beer for my drink. Not sure how she would expect us to know that. When the food finally arrived the chicken was dry and panini was bland. This restaurant has forgotten how to treat their customers....bad food and bad service make for a restaurant to avoid.

Yelp
My wife and I were in the mood for a beer and a nice view. So she asked if I wanted to go to Verdi Restaurant at Western Hills Golf Course. The owner, Tony D'amelio, is a great guy and we like to support his restaurant. Billy Greene sat us on the back covered deck which overlooks the putting green and fairway. Nice view to watch the sunset. We began our dinner with tall glasses of beer with salad and pasta fagoli. After our salad and pasta fagoli, my wife was cold when the sun went down. Our waitress was more than accomodating to move us inside and sat us near the bar where friends of mine were seated. My wife's dinner was a special for the night. Chicken Tuscany with a light cream sauce, chopped tomatoes and asparagus. I had the italian sausage, italian long hot peppers and potato appetizer for my dinner. Which is plenty big for one person to have for dinner. My wife added grated cheese to her dinner and it was very good. A nice drizzle of extra virgin olive oil over my dinner and it had a great taste. Always the place to see old friends and make new friends.

Yelp
Unfortunately this did not hit the mark for us. Eggplant Formosa (Parmesan) was very very dry. Almost no filling, but just layers of dry eggplant. Nothing at all like what was offered in the prior establishment out East. Baked Haddock was just boring, small amount of bread crumbs sprinkled on top. Fish and Chips was good, however the potato that was offered, boiled with a few onions and chicken broth was just flavorless. The biggest set back was the house salad. The greens served were the parts I would have thrown in the garbage, you know what I mean, the tough core areas. The lettuce was clearly purchased from a bag and just thrown together with a few sliced carrots, one small cuc and three croutons, not fresh at all. Too bad as we really were hoping that the quality of food was going to continue to be excellent but for us, this will be our last time.

Yelp
The best cuts of meat ... and by the way.... they go the extra yard to make your dining experience the best.. Lobster roll is one of the best around...really enjoy the patio and view.

Yelp
Verdi has been my go-to Italian place since the day they opened. The staff are phenomenal and the food is perfect. the bone in veal chop parmesan is incredible. I drive from Manhattan to get it.

Yelp
I hate giving five stars unless it's justified. Verdi (FKA The Hills) is under new ownership and has undergone a facelift from the old Hills space. I sat at the bar and ordered off the Tavern menu. The pasta fagioli was delicious, with a light red sauce, and various types of pasta, with a salty taste of prosciutto mixed in. On the recommendation of the bartender, I ordered a chicken and broccoli rabe sandwich. The chicken was pounded thin and the broccoli rabe had a salty, not too bitter, garlicky flavor that did not saturate the ciabatta roll. I was pleasantly surprised with the food. The servers/bartenders were cute and friendly. The Bar is fair to midland in terms of liveliness vs The Hills. However, I really don't have any suggestions for improvement. Overall, a good spot to hang at the bar and order some tasty red sauce Italian food that is not unique to Waterbury, just that The Dirty does Italian better than most places.

Yelp
I visited Verdi with a friend a few weeks ago and absolutely loved it.. The area is HUGE!! So beautiful i need to go back and visit in the summer. They were so packed but our waitress Amejda was the sweetest she was very knowledgeable with the menu, which was very impressive! We ordered a bunch of appetizers all so delicious, the calamari was one of my favorites. This place is deff worth the visit, you won't regret it!!

Yelp
Bar tender not wearing a mask while serving anyone! (We sat at the bar for 30 minutes i never took off my mask) Some waitress do not know how to pull their mask up above their nose! I've seen her multiple times and she was talking to the owner and nothing was done about it. State laws are put in place for a reason and if I want to go out to eat I want to feel respected and safe. Along side that i understand it's Mother's Day but it doesn't give anyone a right to have us wait over 2 and a half hours for my meal, 45 just for soup, messes up the reservation argued with me about it, and then gets seated 45 minutes after our initial reservation time. And the hostess who is the owner is the one who argued with me I understand, it's Mother's Day but have some respect for your customers. And please wear the masks or the cdc may stop by!

Yelp
We understand splitting a check three ways, BUT splitting a calamari dish three ways. Your mother owned a restaurant..so this is an uncommon request, that you SB should be aware of... Why couldn't you just split three ways and give your BF's the difference?? In fear of your life??? A little dramatic .. I'm sure your parents are proud of the scene you made. If you called police why didn't you wait for them to come so you could lodge your complaint. I think you are missing pieces to this story. People who are scared don't normally hang around yelling and swearing...they usually take " flight". Who but spoiled gluttonous pigs would eat all their food then ask for their money back ?? Lol
