The place is great for a relaxation time. Usually people go there for weekend. And here is a hack: if you go there for a relaxation, you might consider the business days - no rush, no concurrent attention to the easy chairs at the pool. The cuisine is very, very good, either is the selection of wines. The only "but" about the business days would be breakfasts - they are not as chik as in weekends. On the other hand, the price is lower.
Rooms, however are splendid. Of any class and in every facility. But you shouldn't stay in room, walk around, see the stables, breath with fresh air.
Travelling there by train, you could call the place and ask for transfer, it will be the same price as the local taxi, while the comfort will be better.

Last day of two week stay in Poltava had very nice experience in Food and Forest restaurant. Service was excellent. Restaurant not busy on a Sunday in February and we were here for over six hours. Started with champaine (sp?) and ended with Jack Daniels Honey. I had lamb and vegies on Josper grill and it was all great. Friends had beef in various guises and it was all very good. Second time I have eaten here and will no doubt be back. Just had great time. So nice to be in restaurant where music is just in back ground and adds to mood rather than having to shout over music. My Ukrainian friends even complain of this and they are younger than I am so it's not just an age thing. And not unique to Ukraine for sure. So, nice place for special dinner. Sometime may do other activities but so far have only been in restaurants here.

Simply an amazing experience.
We spent two nights in a premium cottage with a stunning view of the pine forest. Room are comfy and well equipped, staff are friendly across all outlets (front office, restaurant, spa...). One of the best surprise was the Food and Forest restaurant. The design of the restaurant is in par with any top restaurant in established food capitals, the cuisine is meticulously prepared, you can feel the combination of passion and fresh ingredients, the wine list is well structured and during our trip they had a promo/bin end wine list with great bargains. The service staff were friendly, open to chat and have good training on both food and wine menu.
We really enjoyed our stay, we only regret not to have stayed longer, but am sure we will be back in 2020.

You can read more details and examples below, but to cut the long story short - when staying in such an expensive place you expect excellent service and lots of care about the guests. This wasn’t fully the case this time :(||||We came back to the same chalet to celebrate my birthday for a long weekend. While the place was still great, with even more added small things on the private territory (like extra blankets, flower vases) the service seems to have gotten worse :( everything is really slow (especially in the restaurant) and it doesn’t seem they see this as a problem.||||Jacuzzi in our chalet was not functioning properly. It appears this was a known problem but we were not warned. Every 2 hours we had to call a repairer to restart it.||||There was a children party in the nearby chalet with a host, microphone and related equipment which after lasting for more than 3 hours didn’t let you feel in a relax park. Our first attempt to find out if anything can be done about it was not successful: we were told that events like this are not prohibited and loud music is allowed till 11 pm. On another attempt we were already told that they are “dealing” with the issue. Thankfully shortly after the microphone was turned off and the party continued without too much noise.||||Fireplace in the chalet is another great selling point for this place. When going for a walk we stepped by the reception asking to have the fireplace prepared. 2 hours later in the chalet it appeared no one came by. We couldn’t reach reception by phone for more than 10 mins and had to walk to the reception to remind about our request. It was fulfilled pretty quickly this time, but again they didn’t see it as a problem that we had to remind about ourselves in such a way.

We had a table for 4 people booked on Wednesday 29th of January. The food was good, the wines were even better (probably the best wine list I’ve seen in Poltava restaurants). The waitress was attentive, but not intrusive. We’ll certainly come back when we are in Poltava again.

Beautiful place in a pinery. Great facility with pools. Mixed feelings about luxury resort and relatively poor service in the restaurant. The restaurant is very modern and expensive, though not all the food worthy (think twice before you order steak, it is very expensive and is absolute disaster). The rooms are amazing. The bathrooms are fantastic. Nice and quiet place. Great for families with small kids.

My wife and I stayed here last week for 3 days, we didn't know what to expect and when you first drive there there roads make you wonder if you're going to the right place but as soon as you arrive you are grateful for the journey! Verholy is all class, beautiful landscape and natural escape. The prices are very reasonable given the services (environment, spa, great food, etc). Highly recommend exploring the trails, renting a bite and driving the restaurant. The breakfast is also superb. We will return anytime we are in Poltava. It was not busy when we stayed (good thing) but I'm sure it's busy in the summer.

You will be lucky if you come across this place... I stayed in 2 different rooms, and loved both of them, which were both substantial. what great service, and such beautiful staff, music, place for running, horse riding, sauna, spa, massage, or just chilling at the pond and sipping martinis, cocktails, tea, coffee, or the delicious food brunch bar... this place is heaven.
