My company has enjoyed many happy hours and parties at Veritas over the years. It’s almost scary how knowledgeable every single staff member is. Their wine selection truly is top notch. If you don’t like wine, they have a small beer list and lots of tasty meats, cheeses and chocolates. If you love wine or are looking to expand your horizons, highly recommend stopping in!

This place has my heart. Their meat and cheese platter is the best I have had in DFW. You can buy a groupon to get multiple cheeses and meats! Their wine selection of course is out of this world.

I was there for my birthday, Kevin recommended a great wine (Nebbiolo) with some cheeses and cold cuts, it was amazing. Atmosphere is great, music wonderful and great chocolate desert. Could not ask for a better experience, will definitely come back and highly recommended.

I love the atmosphere and intimacy of this wine room. It's a good contrast from other louder, crowded bars. They have a great wine selection, and I totally recommend the truffles they have for sale. So yummy!

The Veritas wine room has a wonderful selection of wine and cheese/ meat/ chocolate platers. The staff members on the team are fantastic and can speak from experience and make some great recommendations. The environment is cozy and welcoming and makes for a great place to have a conversation and enjoy a wide selection of wines!

We have loved Veritas since it opened. Love the vibe and terrific wine selection. Find and enjoy wines you simply won’t find at a liquor or grocery store. Good pricing. The charcuterie board is delicious

Quiet and romantic atmosphere. Great service. We were indecisive with the wine selection and were willing to let us taste one additional wine to see if we like it. They wanted us to use the same glass to taste.

I love this place. I'm so sad it's closing. Me and some friends visited and we regretted not making it there sooner. Richard was so helpful and knowledgeable and always makes every visit amazing. If you haven't been yet you should definitely make it out quickly before it's too late

The drinks and food are great but the only thing better was the service!!! The owner is so kind and casual and his dog is so cute and sweet! 200/10 recommend this place to a friend!!!!

My husband and I went here on our date day out! Richard was great and may have officially converted me to a red wine drinker. He was so knowledgeable, patient and understanding in catering to our taste but still opening our palettes to something new. Music selection, meat and cheese tray were great as well! Awesome assortment of cheeses!

Went here for a good time with my friends to celebrate my friend's 40th bday. We were all having a good time enjoying wine when one of us accidentally spilled wine from our table and some fell on the next table. We apologized and offered to pay for their dry cleaning or a new vest because a few drops got on a guy's vest. We apologized offered to pay for the vest and gave the guy our number. The guy refused our offer and kept saying he couldn't trust us. He made it seem like he was wearing a very expensive vest. He took it off and threw it on the table. When we saw what brand it was($80 max), we still wanted to do the right thing so we apologized again and put $200 cash on the table for his vest. At this point there wasn't much else we could offer him. The guy starts verbally assaulting us and pushed my friend. Instead of trying to diffuse the situation, protect us, or call the police, the manager decided to back the attacker and was rude to us. Really? Who attacks someone over spilled wine? I can't help but think discrimination was a factor; we were a large group of minorities. The Caucasian manager and his friends at bar were defending the attacker and shaming us over spilled wine and being "loud" in a bar. A kind Indian couple said they saw the patron assault us and said they would back us if we wanted to call the police. Luis, our server, was very apologetic and supportive. The manager, Peter, kept saying we were too loud and told us to leave right away, after we were just attacked. He never said we were loud when we were ordering $150 bottles. He was in fact trying to get us to purchase more wine. As soon as we are attacked by a Caucasian guy he comes out to chastise us for being loud and defends the attacker. What kind of manager lets someone assault other patrons physically and verbally? Allowing physical violence in an establishment should never be tolerated, especially over some spilled wine. We ended up paying our $700 bill and even tipped the server, then walked away from the situation. We will not come back here. I understand some people are unreasonable and things happen but I expected to be protected by the management. Instead I was appalled to be kicked out by the racist manager (Peter), while the attacker was allowed to continue drinking wine. I feel bad for girl the attacker was on a date with. If you are reading this, run! What kind of man assaults someone over spilled wine? Our server Luis was great, he followed us out of the wine bar to apologize for the situation.

Love the wine and service but sad we can't come see Grigsby the dog. Highlight of our wine tasting experience was playing with a cute Shepard!!

This is my favorite neighborhood wine bar. Yes, I have Leelas within walking distance but it's SO loud, like a club. My old ears can't handle all of that. (Albeit, a beautiful space) This is more traditional - dark inside, comfortable chairs, offers a limited menu of really good charcuterie, and good tunes at a reasonable level. The wine-tenders here know their wine, are happy to give samples, and OMG they have half price wine on Mondays. All of the wines you want to try that are $18+ / glass, come on Mondays to get half price and not feel so guilty trying a new wine.

I went here with my boyfriend and some of our friends. Our server was great and very helpful with our wine selection. Unfortunately, the manager, Peter, and another patron were rude to us and ruined our evening.

My daughters held a happy hour event at Veritas for my retirement. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the wine and charcuterie boards. Service was impeccable.

We came for the Epic wine tasting-- 15 wines, 1 oz pours, $55. Sounded great and the pace was your own. The sommelier/server was knowledgeable about the wines but was not pouring 1 oz for each wine. Most of the 15 pours were 1/2 oz+ (barely enough to enjoy). My husband and I received the last dribbles of one bottle and when we waited expecting another bottle to be opened he said no that he couldn't do that and didn't seem at all concerned that we didnt receive our tasting. I think they oversold the wine tasting and tried to squeak out more tasting than the 25 oz in a bottle. He told us "I'll make it up to you" but was never able to do that. Just disappointed and we left not feeling like it was the experience we thought we were gonna have.

Hand down best wine bar in Dallas. The ambience is so relaxing and the staff (all extremely friendly) always knows how to recommend the perfect bottle. Sooo many selections as well! I love it here!!

If I could give it a negative rating, I would! We have been to Veritas before and it has a great selection of wine, their Meat/cheese boards are good, a bit overpriced for what you get though. We were in the area, saw a Groupon for meat/cheese/chocolate for two we called to see if we could get it go instead. Gentleman we spoke to said we could as long as we purchased wine. We get there and the menu says bottles to go are at a discounted price ($80 or less are 40% off listed price) and I ordered a bottle to take home along with the neat/cheese for 2. The total is $60 something (the bottle was $43 before the discount), turns out they added a 20% gratuity as well. I feel tacky saying anything to the lady who was helping us, but I wasn't expecting to pay that much for a bottle of wine. When I asked her, she says how they made an exception for us by letting us take the meat/cheese to go, so we have to pay full price for the bottle instead. The whole reason for the Groupon is to get us to hang out there and not take things to go. I asked her if I could get a different way me instead, and ordered an inexpensive bottle ($30) instead, and out total was $41.95, less than $60 something but definitely not what I was hoping to pay. She could have explained to us that since we were getting the food to go the wine wouldn't be discounted, we would have opted to order wine by the glass instead or come back when we had more time to spend there. The whole experience was simply embarrassing, and I felt cheap for not wanting to pay $50 something for a bottle of wine to drink at home. This entire situation could have been avoided if they had explained it differently.

Very good customer service and knowledge on wine. Most definitely will be coming back here on a regular!

This place is beyond lovely. I was on a mission for a cozy, warm, inviting spot to hang out early on a Saturday evening and do a little writing. I went to a couple places around town that disappointed, for various reasons, and ended here. It was perfect. Exactly what I was craving. I hoped to snag a spot by the fireplace, but it was claimed, unsurprisingly. Still, the atmosphere was just delicious, and Peter and Bradley were so very warm and hospitable and just charming as all get-out. I asked for a bottle of Sancerre, my favorite wine, and Peter brought out one with such depth and complexity. It was absolutely perfect. Then I had the goat cheese "dip" and crackers. It's a mild goat cheese with spicy, sweet honey, and holy hell! Incredible! I will definitely be back. I encourage all to give it a shot. Perfect date spot, or a place to have a glass (or bottle, as it were) if you one and enjoy the warm, cozy environment. They'll take good care of you, without a doubt.

Such a cute and lovely wine shop. The mystique of this place is something like a small local winery, with wooden wine racks adorning the walls, comfy couches and old world decor. However, it's a fairly big store compared to others I have been to. I go here for the solid charcuterie boards. It has some really wonderful cheeses and meats and even chocolates. The wine selection is also very solid though I have had some that are sub-par, but these are rare. In my experience, the staff is fairly well informed and helpful. This place offers a lovely experience for a perfect wine and cheese night and makes you feel like you've been transported to some Italian wine grotto. Also plenty of parking, and fairly decent location, though I wouldn't expect a wine shop such as this to be flanked by a salon etc as it is in the strip mall. There is a Groupon available so check that out (alcohol not included though)!

Had a bad experience over the weekend. Manager was rude and ruined the night. We ended up just leaving since the mood was killed. Our server Luis was helpful and personable.

Overall, a lovely place to spend an evening talking with friends about random things. The wine selection is extensive, and price-wise, bottles are quite reasonable, although you will see markup just like in any other restaurant. I believe this is the strongest aspect of this Wine room, which is completely appropriate! Food wise, the selection is limited, but the cheese and meat board that we purchased was okay, but nothing special. Several cuts of meat were better than others, and the cheese was just fine. If they improved that, I would be even happier. Staff are super friendly and fairly knowledgeable, and the place is set up nicely for a relaxing evening. Great spot, definitely check it out!

Initially bought a groupon special here but unfortunately, i let it lapse and so i just ended up using the promotional value of the groupon coupon i bought. Went here on a saturday night and i was hoping it would be a quiet joint to kick it, but i guess there was a big group of people that rented out part of the place for the night, and so it was bit loud and busy. Despite it being busy, our waitress was very attentive. Their wine selection wasn't as extensive as say, Mercy Wine Bar in Addison, but it was pretty good nonetheless. The gf and i went here after having dinner and so we just ordered chocolates from their desert menu. My gf has nut allergies and the waitress was very knowledgeable about what things in the menu contained nuts. We ordered 7 different chocolates and they were all fantastic (each chocolate was about $3/each)! For the wine, i ordered the vintage port ($13) which was great! It wasn't thick and syrup-y, and the it wasn't too sweet, which is what i like. My gf got one of the Rieslings (i forgot the brand but it was $14/glass and $49/bottle), and she said it was the best Riesling she has ever tasted! If you're in the knox henderson area and you're in the mood for some wine, definitely stop by this place!

Ok I meant to say ambiance is inviting and not armpits. We had a fantastic NYE dinner. The food, wine and company could not be beat.

My wife and I walked in on a Saturday night and instantly brought down the average age of the place by a decade. That's fine though, I typically trust the older crowd to pick good wine bars. The interior was nicely furnished with the bar in back. We stopped at the bar for a few minutes waiting for the bartender to acknowledge us, which she didn't. Finally another bartender emerged and I was able to flag her down and order a couple glasses. For being a wine bar they have a very brief menu. And the two glasses we ordered, a pinot noir and a tempranillo, were not an astounding selection to feature. The pinot noir was so off colored that on second thought I should have sent it back.

I have been reading mixed reviews, and then I remembered being in San Antonio and even though the restaurants were not crowded at all, they could not seat us as there was a shortage of wait staff. So things being what they are (all caused by the silly government leaders who are destroying our businesses) I think we must be more patient with wait staff as I am sure they are trying to do as best as they can in these circumstances.

I LOVE this place. We came here this past weekend, my husbands been here before but it was my first time and I expected this to be another average wine bar. To my absolute delight, nothing about this place was average, Veritas Wine Room far surpassed my expectations. The ambiance is cozy and the customers this night we went were a combination of locals who love wine and belong to the wine club, and smaller groups. Seating is plentiful whether you want to grab a nook or a table. There is also bar seating, which is where my husband and I ended up. It was an employee's birthday so they shared a slice of delicious cake with us - I wish I remembered what the bakery it was fun! We ordered a few glasses of wine and the Veritas cheese & salami plate, and it was totally perfect. Their selection of wine is great and there are different kinds of meat and cheese, and other small plates that you can order. We ordered the basic Veritas cheese plate, and it was delicious. The service is probably the best I have seen in all of Dallas - everyone is warm, inviting, so helpful. The waiters and waitresses knew when to ask when we needed something, or when to leave us be, when we were deeply engaged in conversation. We had such an amazing time - didn't want to leave but had to move on to meet some friends. Love it here, will definitely be back!

This place has great wine selection, there's no doubt about that. However, they also have some of the worst and most pretentious customer service I have experienced while in Dallas. We have walked in on multiple occasions and were clearly seen but totally ignored. Today, we walked in and someone finally asked us if we needed anything (although in an irritated manner), when I exclaimed that was the first time anybody had ever tried to help us in recent memory, she retorted with MAJOR attitude and said "ok..." like we did something wrong. If a customer tells you about a bad experience you don't give attitude, you apologize.

Love the ambiance, and the variety of wines that they have from different countries. Great customer service, I wish I remembered their names, two guys and were extremely helpful and insightful with the drinks. I would 100% recommend to friends and family

Walking in on a Sunday night with my husband and we were looking for a nice bottle of wine to purchase. There were 4 people at the bar and 2 people working. We looked at the wine for about 20 minutes, waiting for anyone to help us or even acknowledge us. They never did. We were pretty miffed and walked out without anything. The following day we walked in hoping to have a nice glass of wine... We browsed the wine breifly and weren't acknowledged in any way by the staff woman lighting the candles for the evening. She said nothing until we were walking out and as we reached the front door she turned around and said "Can I help you?" My husband replied "Yes, we're glad someone finally asked. We were here last night and no one acknowledged us for about 20 minutes." Her response, in the style of IDGAF, was "Okay?" We looked at each other and walked out. Is it arrogance? Not caring about being helpful? Snobbyness? It sure seemed like it. I remember once we were there and my husband said" they have great wines, why don't we come here more?" I guess we got our answer.

This is a quaint wine shop and tasting room in Knox-Henderson. We went for a friend's birthday and had a nice afternoon on their patio. This isn't a place to visit if you want a fun, exciting atmosphere, but definitely a spot for purchasing good wine or for a relaxing tasting and low key afternoon, which you can enjoy on a small outdoor patio if the weather permits. The outdoor patio doesn't have much of an atmosphere except the loud bar next door, but indoors is quite cozy. If you're a wine-o you can probably get some good finds here. FYI - I would recommend splitting a bottle rather than doing wine by the glass if you plan to stay a while since the glasses can add up. Another tip - the wines on the wall are more expensive and they have other bottles to offer if you ask for a price list.

Just great selection and great service. I love it so much. Monday specials are the best since everything drink is half off and they have 3-7 happy hours.

Great place! Great selection of wines! I do like this place a lot more than cru! Very friendly server and great atmosphere. I only wished I came here when it was not busy. Nevertheless , me and my honey sat at the corner. Our server was very accommodating, even after moving to new seats, and turned on the lights dimly so we could enjoy our time. Came to check on us and gave us a nice quiet time. I will return to try more of their items very soon! Thank you!

I went here with a friend expecting to experience a new wine room; but, no one talked to us. We looked around for menus but literally NO one talked to us. We left because it clearly wasn't for us. I'm refuse to patronize a business that ignored customers..

Very romantic setting; a perfect place for date night. The staff gave us friendly and excellent customer service. Used the Groupon deal which was $25 for a food tasting for two ($51.50 total value),Four cheeses with crackers and fruit (a $27 value),Two meats (a $17.50 value),Two chocolates (a $7 value). We picked out the half bottle of moscato d'iasti which was very smooth. The assortment tray also came with a small selection of apricots and dried cranberries. Very calm setting , with smooth music playing in the background. Awesome experience, will definitely return.

We stopped at Veritas simply for a glass of wine. Upon checking in on Yelp we found out they offer 1/2 off your first glass of wine on Thursdays! Inside also appears to be an art gallery too. Considering the beautiful weather we decided to sit on the patio facing Henderson. Tip: the patio is pup friendly! I enjoyed a nice rose that we paired with Wygu dry aged sausage and a Cypress Grove Purple Haze cheese. You can order a meat and cheese board or you can build your own with their large variety of offerings. The Wgyu was average but the chevre cheese was amazing! This cheese is the perfect marriage of lavender with fennel pollen. The plates come with flat bread crackers, dried cranberries and apricots. Veritas is a great place for date night or a ladies night out.

Very nice people, good cheese board ! It's not a upper end wine bar, more like a micro brewery for wine. But that's not bad, cool atmosphere. I will come back.

Came to this place on a Monday after every other place we were wanting to go ended up being closed. So glad we did end up finding this spot. Don't get out to Dallas much, but this is definitely a place I will continue to visit whenever we get out there. Showed up here because we were searching charcuterie and cheese boards on Yelp. This place showed up, and it didn't disappoint. One of the best boards I have had at a wine bar. We ended up drinking a few glasses of wine. It was happy hour (half price glasses) when we arrived, so we got the $10 sparkling for $5. The wine was very nice. Our waiter/bartender was very helpful. He filled up our water glasses and continued to check on us throughout our stay. He gave us the menu to check out the various boards they have there. They have a ton to choose from, you can create your own, or you can choose one and add meats and cheeses to it. We went with the Veritas board. We also added bison habanero cheese summer sausage. I'm glad we added it because it was delicious. My favorite thing on the board. All the cheeses were wonderful as well. Also, the bathroom here is super clean. A random addition to my review, sure... But bathrooms can make or break a place. Basically, what are you waiting for... Go check this place out.

Dark and sultry, and the employees know what they're talking about! Fun place to get away from the bustle of Knox/Henderson.

If you're wanting to come here for their cheese/meat, go get the groupon! It is totally worth it. We got lucky and ended up with an additional $10 off when we were purchasing the groupon so the tasting for two came out to be just $20. This included 4 cheeses, 2 meats and 2 chocolates. WOW, what a deal! They let you pick any meat, cheese and chocolate that you'd like. They had a huge variety so there will surely be some that would go well with your selected wine. We got a bottle of red wine and it was pretty good, but not my favorite. The cheese/meat board that we got was also accompanied by two types of crackers, some apples and some dried cranberries and apricots. I'm a bit surprised that for a dedicated wine room, they didn't have a whole lot of wines to select from (compared to other places). For the cheese, we got the Cotswold (VERY good if you like cheddar and the addition of onion and chives really makes it better), Belletoile, Manchego DO Valdehierro and Gouda Lekker (this was good but very light!). For the meat, we got the Bison Habanero/Cheese Summer Sausage and the SB Rosette de Lyon. The Rosette was absolutely delicious! It was slightly garlicky with a lot of other flavors and it went very well with our wine. For the chocolate we got the Almond Toffee (DELICIOUS, one of the best toffees I've had) and the Wild Woman Truffle (this was okay.. nothing too impressive, I've had better). Overall, this place is a real nice hangout kind of spot, whether you're on a date or on for a girls night out. The servers are very helpful and the cheese & meat selection is legit. They also have preselected cheese/meat boards if you don't have the groupon and still want to save!

Took my boyfriend here for a cozy date night and it was PERFECT! Parking is pretty limited so valet is the best option. The chorizo and the almond toffee are MUST haves! Believe it or not if you get the groupon, you'll actually leave being a little full----I know what you're thinking. How can one be full off of cheese, meat, crackers and fruit? Eh. I don't know but it works! I give it 4 stars because the prosciutto tasted like a rubber band. Other than that, It's the perfect, intimate date!!

One of my favorite uncle wine bars in Dallas, eclectic vibe, fantastic selection of wines, great staff and owners, laid-back vibe.

Very nice neighborhood wine bar. We met a few friends for drinks and apps here and I will be back. One thing that I'm glad I realized before coming - they only have meat and cheese boards, not a full menu. However, the way they do their boards is very unique and frankly, genius. The first page of the menu has all of their boards - think of these as arranged mostly by size and as bases to build upon. The rest of the pages contain the individual cheeses, meats, sides and sweets that you can add on. Sides to add on include honey and olives, two of my favorite cheese board components. Each board is served with assorted fruit and crackers, so you can just order a board and have a well rounded experience if you want. The wine was reasonably priced and delicious. Although I did not ask the server questions about the wine, I know this is the type of place where they would be very knowledgeable and be able to help recommend something if you wanted them to. The server did say that on Monday all wines by the glass are half off, so I may have to come back for that :)

My husband and I are wine lovers and know a great deal about wines and what regions they come from, yada yada yada. We randomly decided to grab a glass of wine this past Saturday in the middle of the day. It was around 3pm when we walked in and the place was completely empty. We asked the waiter/owner (not sure) if we could come in and he said yes. He wasn't very welcoming, but that didn't stop us from scoring any seat we wanted in the house to sit back and relax. We chose the comfy sofa as our destination. The wine bar is dark and romantic. The music was perfect for a wine bar, sweet and romantic. It's a great place for a date night to have drinks or spend with a group of friends enjoying wines from all over try world. The interior is nothing of what you'd expect based on the exterior being in a plaza. We each chose a glass of Chardonnay from Burgundy, France that was excellent. My husband asked the man if there was a food menu and the man brought out the cheese and meat menu. He never came back to see if we actually wanted to order something. My guess is that he didn't expect people to come in in the middle of the day and didn't want to be bothered. After being there for an hour, we decided to leave. We will definitely go back again one evening because their wine list is phenomenal. This is the nicest wine bar I've been to in Dallas as far as the atmosphere and wine list. One can only hope that the service will be more friendly and welcoming on our next visit, so that it won't be our last.

Veritas Wine Room has a great atmosphere for a quiet date night, and if you're feeling a little breezy, the patio is nice too! Located right next to Henderson Tap House, makes the patio a little less "quiet", due to the loud music next door. Atleast you get the choice!! Great happy hour... Mondays are probably the best! Half off wine glasses. on Thursdays, if you check into Yelp, you get 50% off your first glass of wine! Great selection of both white and red wines, meats and cheeses. Yesterday, JR and I shared the Mahon cheese, a spanish cheddar cheese embedded with crystals. Delicious. We also shared the TRUFFLE SALAMI. best salami i've ever had, hands down! I've recently discovered how amazing "truffle" in anything is, and i'm never going back. It was so good, we ordered another plate of truffle salami! Now, I need to figure out where we can purchase the truffle salami. anyone know? INBOX ME! JR and I frequent wine bars in dallas quite often. This is probably our 2nd favorite wine bar! Can't wait to be back next time for more truffle salami. yummmmy!

After several hours of a guided auto-tour through interesting places in Dallas, Veritas Wine Room was a welcome first stop. And I would say that even without seeing the really appealing wine display on the left as you walk in (well sorted by type and location). It's very comfortable inside, with nice ambient lighting, and several types of seating available. The wine assortment was great, and we were given the option to sample a wine before purchase. The food selections work well too, and we received excellent suggestions as to what would pair well with what we ordered. For example, the goat cheese platter I ordered seemed to increase the complexity of the malbec I had already ordered. I forgot to check if they had Wi-Fi. That's important, because regular cellular coverage (at least for Verizon) is awful in this area. There were lots of daily and weekly specials and events. Our tour guide used to literally live across the street, and she maintained this was her second home. You know, if I lived in the area, it would have been mine too.

Veritas Wine Room is a charming little wine bar with quite a large wine selection. Immediately upon entering you will see the enormous wine collection lining a long wall. The menu is extensive with many wines coming from France. The ambiance is very cozy, successfully balancing a sophisticated worldly side of imported international wines and a regional flair with some local artists' works hanging on the wall for sale. The seating ranges from bar, to high tops, some tables, and couches. It is a very welcoming establishment where trying different wines is an approachable task, far from any kind of snobbery that might be associated with fine wine. To accompany our wine, my friend and I shared the Veritas Platter, consisting of salami, gouda, aged cheddar, apple slices, crackers, and a sprinkle of dried apricots and cranberries. It paired so perfectly with our wine as we sipped and chatted. We also ventured to try something from the chocolate menu, settling on "The Snookie", which is a rich truffle dusted with fine sugar and cinnamon. The other platter pairings looked delicious, and there was an option to order items a la carte. Ellie helped us choose from the wine menu. She was so sweet and helpful knowing the wine selection very well, noting the most popular red and white wines. She also informed us that although you can order bottles and pick up in store, they are unable to ship bottles out of state due to Texas law. Consider checking in a bag if you are out of town because you might discover a wine that you absolutely love.

Good wine. Used to be a great place to hang. Rude and lame bar tenders tonight. Plenty of other options. I would skip it.

If you are looking for something more than the usual Saturday night dinner experience, Veritas Wine Room's tasting is a great change of pace. Spend two hours mingling, tasting, learning, and making new friends (and after 16 wines, you'll be best of friends by evening's end! Just don't expect to remember anyone's name the next day.) The sommelier (is he one? I care not. Let's continue...) stands near the front of the deep, galley-shaped, dark room just behind his wide row of wines that I daresay he knows better than the back of his hand. I'm pretty sure he knows not only the specific region, hill, or valley from whence the grapes originate, but the vine itself. He knows the wine that well. There is a light menu; I mainly saw charcuterie plates, and I wasn't wowed by the Veritas plate that I got but let's face it--this place is about the wine. The place seems to be somewhat awkwardly laid out--the space could be better used. People stand about waiting for their next refill in a too-slim area at the front, people just entering have to edge past them to find a table and pay to begin, and it's somewhat chaotic in general near the wine. But the entire back half of the place stays near empty. Another oddity is the wall décor. It seems as though the owners are connoisseurs of wine more than art... or perhaps they are just making it known that they are male. Either way, it would be nice as a female not to look at the wall and feel as though I'm at a place that caters only to males if you catch my meaning... But enough of the whine, and back to the wine. There is enough variety in the line-up to keep it interesting, but the wines are thoughtfully selected and the tasting flowed, even from white to red. Overall, Veritas is a really nice way to change up a Saturday night and precede a dinner somewhere on Henderson or Knox nearby.

Amazing wine and cheese selection. My girl friend and I came on a weekday evening (around 7pm) and it was pretty empty; it wasn't until we were almost leaving that it started getting busier. We were able to sample three different wines before making our final decision, and I like how they have a wide range of price points for a wide variety of wines. The bartender, who was also our server (since it was slow), was really good at picking our selection of cheeses based on a few favorites that we mentioned. I was surprised at how large the cheese board was for two people! It also included fruits and cold cut meats as well, and we were able to get more crackers without extra charge. Veritas has a dimly lit, romantic and cozy vibe. It didn't get loud at all (though it might be different on a weekend night when it's busier), so this would be an ideal place for a first date (which we witnessed haha) or just catching up with a friend for 1-on-1 conversations. Normally this place would be a bit out of my price range to justify coming here weekly (though I wish!) BUT their wine is half off on Mondays, and they've been on Groupon for awhile, so you can definitely afford to treat yourself with these kind of deals available!

Perfect neighborhood haunt which has been a frequent go-to for quite some time. So many ways to imbibe...happier hour(s), after dinner, long day, world problem solving caucus, waxing poetic, date night, wino conclave, unsnooty tastings, diverse pairings, etc. They have it all. Great Service with thoughtful, rotating & intriguing variety of varietals to-go or sip in.

Absolutely delicious wine, beer and boards. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable! We had such a fantastic date.
