Vero Review - Upper East Side - New York - The Infatuation

"Vero is a dimly-lit wine bar that works for a low-key date on the Upper East Side. Along with the street seating out front and the small bar, there are candlelit tables with red leather booths at the back of the space. They do Happy Hour until 7pm, which makes this a good spot to meet someone after work and share wine and small plates, like cheese and charcuterie or any of the 10 different types of bruschetta." - Matt Tervooren

They are checking now for a solution to allow a disabled applicant’s POA to fully apply without the applicant having to use digital(not capable) or go live ( not capable). This borders on discrimination of the aged, and is discriminatory to the disabled if they cannot get this right.

I work with the vulnerable adult population, and work within Idaho Fair Housing and have put in hundreds of applications. Having to do any check or verification via VERO has been an absolute nightmare. The last 3 days I have been trying to just fill out an application and pay an app fee, however, they need multiple documents, and it takes 24 hours to get an answer, and will not give you everything they need from the first conversation as the customer service seems outsourced, and today they were having a birthday party in the background and it was so loud the older lady I was working with couldn’t even hear. When they ‘resolve’ anything it will take 24 hours to process and they will make YOU call them back. After everything, I’m on day 3 and they currently said they will need EVERY DOCUMENT I ALREADY SENT THEM AS THEY DON’T HAVE IT. The owner of our company who was co-signing, got stuck on the same screen and the property manager had to call VERO to have them delete it so she could re do it whenever I’m able to finish the first application, that they still can’t seem to fix. Before filling out an app, ask the property manager if they use VERO/SayVero, and if you’re looking to deal with a company that has made a kindergarten teacher upset, then this hellacious experience is for you! 0/10 would not even recommend as a prank to your enemy.

I’m a realtor based in New York and l have collectively closed over 400 deals and I cannot stress enough that this verification platform is absolutely the worst. It will lose you client and deals. I have worked with an amazing portfolio of clients that have had very seamless rental processes, that can get them done within 48 hours unfortunately with Vero it causes more of a lag and Customer Service is non-existent. You can only email or chat with them and no phone calls are able to be processed.

You sell a solution to trigger efficiency. Tell me why I have to use Vero to verify my ID and share my personal information AND still give my ID for a tour?

Completely agree with Luke’s review. They want your BANK ACCOUNT LOGIN Info, payroll login and permission to use your biometric data for 3 months for them AND their (undisclosed) partners, for guarantors and applicants. I can’t imagine this is safe. Do not recommend at all. Use at your own risk.

Every application made through them has failed. Missed out on 3 rentals after over 6 weeks of applications. They won't let you upload documents and getting ahold of support is impossible.

Google
They work with fake rental scammers, allowing them to steal application money. Vero does not do any verification of the companies they work with and has no method for punishing or removing scammers. Past that, they want the login info to your bank and disability, which is a potential liability nightmare (and possible HIPAA violation) and does not pull the correct information. Stick with delivering your stuff in person and avoid rentals using this system.
