Verona Café

First time trying Cafe Verona and wish we would have gone sooner. Ordered small Stromboli and it did not disappoint! The portion was generous and the filling we ordered included cheese, sausage and pepperoni. It was plentiful both in size and contents. Restaurant was clean and the owner was friendly and engaging. You can tell that there was a sense of pride, something that is such a pleasure (and rarity) to see. Thank you Cafe Verona for the excellent food quality and service with a smile. We will be back!

Fabulous food! After I took a few bites I had to take a picture and post a review. Never heard of this place until a friend of mine mentioned it. I bought the chicken parm. Came with a salad and a whole loaf of garlic bread! Everything is take out and you can eat it there or at home. They have a few booths so we decided to eat it right in there. The price is great for the amount of food you get. I’m not gonna lie I had low expectations as I walked in, but after started eating the food i was amazed. The only thing I noticed was the staff didn’t wear hair nets or gloves and saw one roach on the floor. Not a big deal because are small things that could be corrected but because the food was good and seemed like it was fresh and the staff friendly plus I like to support small businesses like this one I gave all a 5 stars.

Hidden gem. Just off the beaten path and hectic traffic this place is great. Excellent value for the money and the staff could not be friendlier. Large portion sizes for the price comma don’t go off my photo for the serving size on the fried mushrooms as I had quite a few on the way back to the office.

Amazing pizza at an amazing price. So much flavor packed into each bite. And it's suitable for all ages so bring your family. My 4 year old son enjoyed it just as much as I did.

The wings here are fantastic! I got hot and mild garlic and they were so saucy and delicious. the woman who owns the place is very kind. Try the wings you won’t be disappointed

I was craving a Calzone... and I really miss an old place that was off Park Ave... years ago, I heard that someone opened up Verona Cafe that used to work at the other place... well, I FINALLY took a chance and ordered from here... and let me tell you.. I'm so glad that I did... was almost exactly as I remember it... I'll definitely return... might not be quite as often as I'd like since I live in Longwood, but I'll be back... I'd have included a photo... but by the time I got home, I was so famished that I began to devour my calzone... Thank you!!

Best pizza in Apopka! The service is always great, and the pizza tastes perfect every time. Highly recommend checking them out if you're craving some amazing pizza!

One of the gems of Apopka 💎. Easy access to location. Very clean & pleasant staff. Food...SOOOOOO GOOOOD! I got a small Deluxe Calzone that could fed a family of 3. Filled with filings and cheese. Crust so tender...delish 😋. 💯% recommend this location. My partner & I, finally, got to try Verona's pizza. Never tasted anything like it. The crust was so sweet. Filled with mozzarella cheese 😋👍. Our new pizza spot in Apopka 🍕. Thank you 🙏

My pizza was fresh and me, and my dogs shared it while I was in town they love the pepperoni and all the cheese topping and even had it for their breakfast with kibble of course Service was awesome and I really appreciate the pizzeria feeling of your restaurant

First time here but won't be my last. Had wings and a salad. Wings were great and salad was fresh. Very affordable and the lady that took my order and waited on me when I picked up my order was friendly, very nice, and asked if I was staying at the hotel to make sure to give me plastic utensils.

I had a Italian sub and it was delicious will definitely be coming back very soon hieden little gem

If you are in Apopka, and you are hungry, get your butt over to Verona and Bridget will make your day! Why is Denny's parking lot empty, they are all around the corner at Verona! Support local businesses like this one, you can taste the love & care she puts into each order! Better made meal at a better price, and bigger! Best cheesesteaks I have ever eaten... by far! Go once, you will go back, even if you live in Wyoming!!!

I love this place. It's a local mom and pop. I always order the eggplant parm w/spaghetti and it comes w/yummy garlic bread. My absolute comfort food. Their hot subs are pretty good and gets a thumbs up from the hubby.

Passed by this place for almost a year since moving to the Apopka area. Glad I found this small Mom & Pop Restaurant by accident because their Pizza was some of the best we have found after trying lots of mediocre pies. Delicious, great price & great customer service - an awesome combination! Looking forward to trying more of their menu.

We had not been to Cafe Verona since we moved out to Zellwood and decided to stop in Sat. The pizza was awesome and I like the anti-pasta salad, (minus the tuna). The owner is a fireball and so sweet. She let us know they deliver to Zellwood Station!! Yay!! We have had the wings and cheesesteak which were yummy. Note: No inside dining after 5:00 PM due to staffing issues.

This is definitely a must-visit restaurant on Apopka! The food was amazing and so were the portions. Everything was fresh and delicious. I appreciated the cheeseburger sub bc most places down here don't make them like they do in PA! Highly recommend!

The food is a good sized portion and freshly made. They are all very nice with good service. The ambiance is like a homey feel.

I started to give it three stars but couldn't with a clear conscience. I just can't see why someone would say the food here is good. First the spaghetti with meatballs...when I opened the dish I thought they must have burned it. The sauce was so dark and thick. The meatballs were hard and definitely bought not made. Second the pizza. I got a cheese personal pan pizza. Wow. I have had supermarket frozen pizza that was better. The garlic bread was not even cooked. Had to put it in the oven. My husband had the chicken parm sub. He said the chicken was good but it was on the wrong bread-it was doughy. The salad was ok. The best part of the whole meal was the balsamic vinaigrette dressing-probably out of a bottle. Also the wings were decent after we finished cooking them. The garlic on the wings did not taste fresh but from a jar. Very disappointing overall.

Great Place. My Mom and I stopped in for a pizza, it was awesome. I told my Mom about their dinners as well. A friend of mine used to order from there. Everytthing was amazing!! After seeing the munu, I can't wait to try more!! Thanks guys, we love you!

Wanted to try this out and on their page it said they deliver in 6 miles I'm under 5 and they said that im.out of their area.Italian I guess they are not about the customer. One less customer here that loves pizza shame that papa Joe's is further and they delivered no problem. It loomed like it was a good place.

I ordered garlic hot wings for delivery. Absolutely wonderful. Great taste, lots of meat on the wings. Arrived fresh and hot. (Both temp, and spice) I highly recommend. The delivery driver was very friendly.

I hate to be negative but this was really bad. We ordered cafe Verona from grub hub and we ordered the chicken Alfredo and mozzarella sticks and cheesecake for dessert. It's also came with garlic bread. I'm fairly certain the "Alfredo" was from a jar. It was runny and absolutely flavorless. Even my kids refused to eat it. The chicken it came with also seemed like some sort or pre-packaged meat cut into cubes. It was absolutely horrible and rubbery. The mozzarella sticks were hard and the garlic bread had so much oregano on it that it was inedible. The cheesecake was not homemade and was hard and tasteless. We had high hopes when ordering and we're trying to support local but poor quality food won't get them far.

Nice little spot Great lemon pepper wings I was looking for fresh calamari but they didn't produced what I wanted, just frozen ringlets. White pizza good as well. I will return

Great little hidden place! Just found it and so far so good! Very friendly people. Great steak and cheese and a good steak and cheese is hard to find in the south. I'll definitely be back for more and the fact that it's a locally own place that delivers is awesome. Not enough places that matter, delivers. I picked the food up and it was ready and hot in 10 minutes! The deluxe pizza is pretty stout! It's definitely up there with Anthony's! The dough is decent and they don't skimp on the toppings. This is a heavy pizza! The bacon really makes it decadent! I'll definitely order again.

We loved the Hawaiian calzone and deluxe calzone, and look forward to trying more from this cool place. Great hospitality!

I've heard some good things about this place, so I decided to give them a try. Pros: Decent sized small salad Lots of meat Quick delivery Flavorful homemade (I am assuming) Italian dressing. Cons: The meat was rolled up on top, so I hadda cut it up A bit pricey for a small salad that I had to work for The delivery company overheard was way too much The packaging was so stuffed that I hadda transfer it to another bowl at work. Was fortunate there was a bigger bowl. All in all, I might try them again, without delivery.

Love this place. Food is fantastic. Portions are huge. Prices are great. The owner is an absolute sweetheart! All my friends love this place too! Most of all, the closest thing to Authentic Wings from Buffalo. Thanks Bridget!

This place of business asked a nursing mother to cover up or leave. When asked about it over social media they continue to delete posts and reviews. Would not ever revisit this restaurant and the owners obviously are not familiar with the law that you are not EVER allowed to ask a woman to cover up while breastfeeding!!

Pizza was great full of veggies not soggy at all. A rich marinara sauce as it should be. Will definitely come back to this hidden gem.

I've probably been to Cafe Verona 20 times, since I discovered the place after moving to Apopka. My last experience wasn't great, but I decided to give it another try. Tonight my only disappointment was that I hadn't been back in such a long time. We were greeted quickly after sitting down. The inside is a little on the drab side, but I assume that most of their business is carry-out anyhow. My wife and I decided to order the ceasar salad to share as an appetizer. We gobbled it down. It was large enough to share, for sure. The lettuce to dressing ratio was good, and the little croutons reminded me of being a kid. Good salad. For dinner, I tried the Verona Crisp. It's a thin-crust pizza with two toppings (I choose meatballs and onions), cheese, and a balsamic drizzle. Sweet and savory on a crisp crust. Tasty and satisfying. For under $9, the size was great too, as I have leftovers fir tomorrow. My wife, who isn't much of a foodie, ordered the small stromboli with sausage. I could argue that she had a calzone, hold the ricotta, but it's semantics. She enjoyed it. She is looking forward to her leftovers tomorrow, and she only finished half! I cannot call Verona the finest local pizzeria in town (Apopka has many, and most have their merits) but the food is solid, and not pricey. I'd recommend my meal tonight. The restaurant is a little dilapidated, so carry out might be preferable, but give them a try. I will certainly be back.

The place smells like a sewer! Crap food. Rather have Papa John's then this crap they call Italian..

This place sucks.... First they say there pizza is wood fired but NOT! The pizza oven is right in front of you and you can see that they are not cooking it in a woodfired oven it is a traditional pizza oven. I ordered a small pizza with three toppings and they charged me over $13 yet they're small pizza with nine toppings the deluxe is only $11.95. Will never go back. I also mentioned this to the owner about the price and he did not seem to care. I got home with the pizza and it was very soggy.

I get food from here fairly often, the lasagna is good, even if it is a little thin and easy on the filling side. Same can be said for the deluxe steak and cheese sandwich - you get a lot more bread than filling most of the time, which is a shame, because it tastes fine, the portions could just be a lot better!

Awesome pizza & wings! Best FL pizza I've had and I'm from NY, we know pizza!! The lemon pepper wings are amazing! The owner is sweet and very friendly.

Tried this little place for the first time for deluxe cheese steaks. Talk about good! The bread is perfect and the sandwich is chock full of steak. peppers, mushrooms. It was excellent and have some left for lunch. Cafe Verona will see my family again. Well worth the drive to Apopka from Wekiva . Very diverse menu too.

My husband and I tried this place for the first time tonight. The wings were delicious, he had a sub and liked it alot. The service was great! We will return!

I ordered food for delivery. My order was a meatball sub, calamari & fries. When my order got here my fries were very soggy and so was the calamari. My calamari also came with a sauce and when I opened the box the sauce had opened up and gone all over the calamari. (I don't care for sauce with my calamari) This was very unsatisfactory the only good thing was my meatball sub. I've had better service here before but this was sure a bad experience!!! So I just called to see how they would make my order right. And some man who I'm assuming is a manager or owner just yelled at me that the food was perfect when it obviously wasn't (even the driver acknowledged that the fries were terrible) and then hung up on me and blocked my number. I've worked in costumer service long enough to know that he shouldn't even be running a restaurant!!!! I am beyond dissatisfied with his service the lady I spoke to before was so much nicer and understanding!! I'm for sure never going back again!

I wish I could give negative stars. There's just absolutely nothing nice I can say about this place. The food is terrible and what's worse, when my husband said we were overcharged for something we didn't even order the manager was rude and unapologetic.

We love this place. They have amazing chicken wings and the food is great. Service is friendly. Not much sitting room so we get ours to go.

Called to order pizza for delivery. They called back to tell me card was declined so I told them I would call back in 5 min with a different card. I called three times and they did not answer. I called with a roommates phone different area code they answered and I told them I need to pay for an order I placed a few minutes earlier. They set the phone down. I waited ten minutes hung up and the phone was busy for the next half hour. Never got to try their food. Never will. Good job cafe verona

My family and I decided to try this place out after seeing the high rating & comments Yelp. Let me tell you it was one of the worst experience ever and we've tried almost every restaurant in town. Poor service, low standard and quality, dirty and dusty tables, and food were not up to par. We were the only ppl in the restaurant and we waited for a while to get attended to.The air and fans were off and it was very humid and muggy in the place with a foul smell. We couldn't breathe. However, not to be rude we wanted to try the food so we ordered calamari and when it came out, it was soaked in reused oil and smelled very bad. Being so disappointed, we decided not to order lunch, paid for our drinks and calamari, and left. We were sick for the rest of the day. After talking to the owner about our concerns prior to leaving, she kept saying, " I don't understand ppl love my restaurant". I don't think the owner had it all there as she could quite understand our concerns.

Tried couple different pizzas and calzones. Yum! Laid back atmosphere. Reasonable prices. We will be back!

Great little place, best for carryout, needs some updating inside. Best cheese steak around. Order the cheese steak with mushrooms, on small bread( New York style) and enjoy. Wings are great as well. Calzone are equally as good.

Had a sensational spinach calzone, big enough to share. Service was impeccable and the owner delightful.

Never again! I placed an order for pick up and when I entered the Place, it smelled like dead Rats! I walked out immediately!

Ventured into cafe Verona, located on a side street in downtown Apopka. Upon arrival we had to order at a counter, it was okay. After ordering we we journeyed to find a spot to sit, the seating was limited and weirdly broken up, it's okay though. Once we were seated we waited for our food to arrive which I found to be within a reasonable time frame, a side note there seemed to be several people picking up orders while we waited with a man seated across from us finishing wings. Our food came out and we were taken back with how large the portion was! I had a medium calzone, it contained pepperonis, mozzarella, ricotta, and Romano cheese on the inside, while the outside was dusted with Parmesan. It was delicious, from the first bite to the last bite I throughly enjoyed this huge piece of heaven in which was entering my mouth. I will say the medium calzone was enough for me to take home to enjoy the next afternoon for lunch. Overall very pleased and would return.

About 7 years ago I and my wife went there on a Friday. We ordered 3 subs, nothing fancy, paid cash and waited and waited and waited. After 45 minutes we noticed everyone coming in was getting theirs and leaving. So I went back to the counter and asked where our subs were. The lady behind the counter said we already got them..... That's funny I said we were sitting here the whole time and don't recall getting them. So she proceeded to take my order again and was going to charge me again. After Arguing with her we waited another 45 mins to get those subs. Witch is the reason I will "NEVER" go there again as long as there I'm breathing. Really y'all they suck!

I have been ordering food from Verona for about 10 years, and always loved them-ordered once a month at least. A few years ago, it seemed good, but a little just average and they kind of fell of my radar screen. I order a calzone, fried shrimp, and a chef salad last night and it was the best food delivered to my door in years. The calzone was incredible, and sauce, dough was great. I literally called them to let them know what a difference I noticed from a few years ago. If you have not ordered from them in a while, give them a call, incredible improvement!

I've got a love/hate relationship with Veronas. I've grown up eating this because their food used to be good! Lately I've seen a couple issues with them as far as cleanliness. They do not use gloves, which for me is a big turn off. Certain things on their menu is amazing but if you're a risk taker and don't mind trying new things, Veronas may not be right for you. I only stick to what I know tastes good because I've been let down a few times by their food.

We got the wings. They were great. A little too much sauce for our liking. We will definitely go back and just ask for light sauce.

Cafe Verona is a good old locally owned restaurant and with most restaurants there will be times when they mess up. We ordered a large pizza and it really was large unlike most delivery pizza joints. The toppings were fresh and plentiful, the crust perfect... it was fabulous. Everyone that came in to pickup their order didn't wait at all; they'd actually spent extra time chatting with the staff. Nothing fancy about the place but you can count on friendly folks and good food. Go support our local businesses!

Terrible!! Do not go!! Owners husband yelled at me over the phone after I've been a repeat customer for over a year now because his wife dishonestly gave me a price he obviously didn't like..is that how you treat customers? And to top it all off he says don't come back in after I tried to reason and ask what was best. We've given them a lot of business from a local church from functions etc... never again.. Also the place smells awful, it's dark inside, the owner claims there's a ghost named Fred that knocks things over..yes a bunch of nut cases that yell at their customers.. I wish I could give it a lower rating.

Everytime i come in for lunch they already have my food cooking. My boyfriend and I both agree on Cheese Steak Subs from veronas with no second guessing. I love this place and i would strongly suggest some subs for lunch or dinner.
