The Family and I had dinner last night at Versante Hearth + Bar. Versante is attached to the Peaks Hotel and specializes in Italian fare.
The vibe to me seemed to be that of a pub. Very casual and relaxed. We were seated in a room off to the side of the main dining room and bar. The only downside was the acoustics were terrible. There was a family with four kids sitting behind us who had a child that kept screaming. Parents, please, if your kid is screaming take them outside or don't bother going out to eat. Don't punish the rest of us. Also, chairs are for sitting, not standing. Be a parent, not a friend.
To start things off, we ordered the Crispy Brussels Sprouts which were perfectly fried and tossed with bacon bits and a white balsamic honey glaze. If you dine at Versante and don't have the Brussels sprouts, you're missing out. Kiddo ordered the Meatball Sando. It was a little difficult to handle, but she liked it. The Mrs. and I shared the Peaks Summer Salad and the Veggie Sando. The salad was very refreshing. A beautiful gathering of mixed greens, red onions, avocado, sliced peaches, Burrata, cherry tomato farro all tossed in a peach vinaigrette. So refreshing.
The Veggie Sando was really good. Pickled zucchini, avocado, roasted red tomato, spicy aioli brussels slaw, served ton a Ciabatta roll with roasted red pepper hummus. The hummus is really what made the sandwich incredible.
Jonathan was our server and did a great job. He epitomized the vibe of Versante.
