The Top Spots for Juices and Bowls in Seattle - Eater Seattle

"What started in 2015 as two brothers with a passion for açai has grown into three Verve Bowls locations around Seattle and two scoop shops on the Eastside slinging açai, pitaya bowls, and smoothies. For warmer options in colder months, Verve also offers avocado toast and hearty bowls of oatmeal. Reward a grueling morning workout (or successfully-tackled inbox) with the Razzle Dazzle açaí bowl, blended with strawberries, raspberries and blueberries and topped off with organic granola and bee pollen." - Lori Bailey

Came here after a 3-mile walk. It's located in a living community, we we had to go through a gate door to get there. Not sure if that door stays unlocked all the time or what. But there was no line and 2 sweet girls working. Nice selection of bowls, and toppings. Not too pricey. They make the bowls right in front of you which I like. They were a nice size for the price. The fruit was all fresh. Would have loved it if they had homemade almond butter. But the one they use is good. The ladies were very pleasant and made the visit enjoyable. Will definitely visit again next time we are in the area

Google
It definitely took some time to find this location, as it is situated inside the Pike Motorworks apartment complex. Although it is not owned by the apartment complex and is open to everyone, it seems that the complex tends to close its main door early, which prevents non-residents from entering. The staff at the store were extremely friendly. However, I’m not sure if it was just my order or if this particular location has an issue, but my smoothie lacked flavor.

Veronica Gomez

Google
Great spot to pick up a quick, healthy breakfast! The staff was friendly and informative, but the atmosphere is a little lacking, best to take it to go. We really enjoyed our blue protein smoothies and strawberry chia toast! Overall, great value and options. Would definitely visit again.

Google
I've been a Verve customer since they first opened and have been pretty disappointed by the quality in recent years, but whoever was working today did an awesome job. I could really tell that they were careful with our order. Give that person a raise!

Google
I have been to the downtown location and Capitol Hill. I love this place. My favorite is the Renewed smoothie. I had this on a hot day in Seattle and I could feel my body become whole again after drinking. I also like the deja Blue Bowl ( what a fun way to add spirulina to your food). I love how healthy this place is. You know exactly what is going into your smoothie or bowl! They make in house their own sauces, and nut milks. So, you are not getting a bunch of over processed/sugar or dyes in your smoothie/bowls you're getting the real deal! Highly recommend!

Google
Delicious smoothies! The Blue Protein was fresh, not too sweet, and super satisfying. Great spot for a healthy pick-me-up:)

Worker was great! So friendly and helpful. Real fruit!!! Highly recommend best I’ve had in a long time

Review 2: I ordered via Uber eats a little late and the owner or employee left me a custom post it, refunded all the extra custom stuff I added and got it to me on time. These people are amazing. The make make amazing nutritious food. They do it all with kindness and love. The didn't have to do what they did but they did it anyways and for that anthe quality of service and food they have made me a lifetime customer. And I won't make that mistake again I promise😀! It is tucked inside the building not right on the street but the food is delicious, fresh, and the staff friendly. Will be back.

Yelp
I frequent verve more often than any other smoothie shop in seattle. in fact, its the only one I visit nowadays. the fruit is fresh and the workers are so fast! =] I love getting the veracious with vanilla protein. the toast is so good too, both the savory and sweet types. the manager Emma is very friendly, and will always make sure you are happy with your order.

Yelp
I watched the person who was making my fruit bowl using the same gloves touching fruit and using the computer at checkout. I asked him that he should not use the same gloves for touching the food and working at cash register, and he remade the order for me. I like the bowls and smoothies here but their customer service and food safety needs a lot of improvement.

Yelp
I used to really enjoy this place 6 years ago. When I had an açaí craving last weekend, I visited and was extremely disappointed. I got the regular sized Verve Bowl for $12.50 (pretty standard price for an açaí bowl). The açaí was grainy, the strawberries and blueberries were sour, and the honey didn't pair well at all. I'd much rather get the Açaí Primo from Jamba Juice (essentially the same as the Verve Bowl) for $11. Or even the Sambazon Açaí Bowls from AmazonFresh... Lastly, the staff wasn't friendly or welcoming. They didn't acknowledge customers entering or leaving the store. I also noticed them passing judgmental looks at their customers that did nothing to deserve it... This is an issue that needs to be brought up to management.

Yelp
This place makes amazing açaí bowls. Their smoothies are also delicious. Specifically the recovery smoothie. Definitely a place I crave when I want a cold and healthy treat

Yelp
After our visit to Hawaii, we fell in love with acai bowls. Verve Bowl is now our go-to spot for a delicious acai bowl before any hike or day trip. Our usual order includes Chocolate My Heart and Verve Bowl, is both delicious and nutritious.

Yelp
This is my new favorite smoothie shop! I loved the taste the first time I visited, but now that I've seen the super clean ingredients they use, I'm completely obsessed. I'm from LA, and this place beats all the shops back home. The clean protein ingredients are top quality and hard to find at most places, and the staff is super sweet. So impressed!!

Yelp
Our family loves smoothies so we popped over to Verve after lunch for a healthy dessert. The place is a little hard to find. You won't see it from the road, and it's tucked near the entrance of an apartment building. Once you go inside- it's a bit underwhelming. Perhaps if the employees were a bit friendlier, it could've helped the vibe. One acted as if she'd never seen a child before. There's no seating which isn't a big deal but there was certainly room for some. The Green Bee drink took some getting used to -- was very sour at first but then really began to enjoy it. There's room for improvement but glad this exists for the neighborhood.

Yelp
I've only ever gotten takeout from here, so my review is limited to the specific experience of ordering online and picking up to go. The ordering process was easy, and all four bowls in our order were accurately prepared. The portions were great, and the fruit was fresh. I'd say they were on par with/slightly above the quality of Jamba Juice bowls, with a little more variety. I do love that you can customize toppings - this puts Verve at the top of my list of Seattle juice/smoothie spots.

Yelp
This hits the spot when you have an açaí bowl craving and I was impressed with their large menu! I tried the Blue spirulina mango/pineapple bowl and it was good, but I expected it to be better because of the price of these bowls. Unfortunately accessibility-wise given the location it's tough to find a parking spot that's decent. Keep in mind there's no dine in seating but there are some patio tables and chairs outside!

Cecily M.

Yelp
Dropped by on a Friday afternoon. We saw the sign that guides you towards Verve in an alleyway off Pine. Super easy to find imo. There isn't seating inside, but a few outdoor seats. Probably wouldn't be a place I'd park and go to, but if you're like us and live within walking distance/find yourself in Capitol Hill, I'd drop by if you're in the mood for a sweet, cold treat. Staff was super friendly. Got the uncrustabowl and good morning sunshine. We got the regular size and each bowl was $12.50. I'm not shocked, açaí bowl places are usually on the pricier side. It's definitely an indulgent treat. The uncrustabowl tasted exactly like an uncrustable with a healthy amount of peanut butter! Both bowls were yummy.

Yelp
Verve takes you on an enthusiastic and vigorous journey. The acai bowl packs a fruitful frenzy in your mouth. Great ratio of acai bowl with toppings. Furthermore, the main quality of every topping was amazing. The place doesn't really have a seating area, so it is a take out type of spot. Nonetheless, the acai bowls were so good. I think the only reason why it didn't go to the 5 level was flavor and consistency. There were times where it was a bit watery. The flavor was so solid, just not out of this world. Absolutely a good bowl. I repeat; absolutely a good bowl!

Yelp
I hate to be that person but with 6 people behind the counter and only 1 other person who was waiting on their order besides me, I might have waited a good 20 minutes for my bowl to be ready. The bowl was decent but nothing all that mind blowing for the cost especially considering that the smoothie base wasn't blended fully so I still had chunks of frozen banana and açaí in it. The employees in addition to taking their time didn't seem the least bit interested on being all that friendly. I wouldn't really recommend this place to a friend.
google avatar

Monica T.

Yelp
I'm surprised by the high ratings for Verve at Capitol Hill... this place was average at best, especially with their over-priced bowls. I got the Deja Blue, but the ingredients did not seem fresh at all. I also specifically asked for NO hemp hearts and the employee still sprinkled them on top. In addition to that, my husband and I ordered our verve bowls early in the morning with no line and it still took the two employees about 15-20 mins to do ours. We just stood around until they were done - no seating was available inside. No sense of urgency at all. The acai bowls were so disappointing for a long wait and average taste. Do yourself a favor and just skip this location.

Yelp
Tried this for the first time and got the recovery smoothie and couldn't even drink it. Way too thick. Gave this place another try and got the renewed and the thickness was better but flavor is not good. Tried to give it a few shots but will not go back again. Overpriced and not good.
google avatar

Amy C.

Yelp
The food here is pretty good, basically an açaí bowl topped with fruits. I like the mango topping on Good Morning Sunshine, and the blue colored base for Deja Blue was a cool color. I got really cold after eating this.
google avatar

Chris C.

Yelp
Pretty solid went for an açaí bowl and def enjoyed it, it is a little pricey for an açaí bowl but you get what you payed for def will try different ones kne day
google avatar

Alice K.

Yelp
Good açaí bowls if you're nearby! They are pricey. Location is hidden, you'll have to go behind red hook restaurant It was yummy but the 2 bowls we ordered was having a granola and almond overload!! Really overwhelming and had to scooped alot of it out
google avatar

Sandy S.

Yelp
I love their food but the service can be very inconsistent. One time I ordered right before my friend and I got my bowl after ten minutes which is quite normal. My friend waited a whole half an hour and waited by the area they serve the bowls. Someone asked her for her name and she responded, so the worker brought the bowl out from under the table... turns out her order was done a while ago and no one called her name nor order at all so we were waiting half an hour for no reason... I understand that this place can be busy a lot!! The last time I came their system was down so we didn't have to pay and left with free bowls! Very thankful for that! I even tried tipping them in cash but they couldn't accept it which sucks :( Love this place just can be very inconsistent at time. I come in or order online at least once a week :)

Yelp
Friendly service and a variety of tasty Açaí options to choose from. Really enjoyed the "Beastmode" Bowl.

Yelp
I'm a California girl so I miss my acai bowls. I noticed that there are not many acai bowl options in Seattle so I was excited to come here to try it out! LOCATION & PARKING // This place is in Capitol Hill but the actual cafe is extremely hidden. If you don't look for the sandwich board outside, you might walk past it. It's in between some modern buildings. There isn't a ton of parking here as it's Capitol Hill but do what you will with that. FOOD // I got the BERRY YUM. It's an acai bowl with bananas, strawberries, blueberries, and house-made almond milk and topped with granola, blueberries, strawberries, and bananas. It's your standard acai bowl and I thought this place did a great job making it. It's extremely refreshing, the portion is decent-sized, and it's not too sweet or tart. I saw that they have extra honey on the side if you want to add it but it was fine for me. AMBIANCE // The ambiance here is quite modern, trendy, hipster, and quaint. I can see people coming here to casually catch up with a small (I don't recommend bringing a huge group here) group of friends or getting some work done/reading. Being in here is relaxing and calming. SERVICE // The staff here are extremely friendly! They answered our questions about the different types of bowls and made recommendations that made sense. OVERALL // 4.0 stars If I was craving another acai bowl, I'd consider coming back here! It's a cute spot.

Yelp
What a delightful location for some energy packed bowls of fruit goodness! It's no wonder there are several of these throughout the city. It's a craze that is worthwhile and lasting for everyone's health. Ok, so the real issue is that if you want a pitaya bowl or an Acai bowl, you've already accepted that you are going to have some frozen ingredients. That part aside, it would be nice to see it all blended smoothly. I saw the folks working here working diligently to blend everything, but it happens - there are frozen chunks sometimes, and well, get over it. The rest is all good! I love pitaya, and so of course it was a no brainer. The best part was they added in peanut butter to the pitaya blend. It would've been better with almond butter, but that's ok, I wanted to try it as menu described. They have granola, but you can skip it if you're on the grain-free wagon. They have gluten-free granola too, so ask for it if you're interested. For fun, add in some extra protein, but yes, you'll have to pay for it. The toppings include strawberries and blueberries and bananas, so that's pretty typical. There's also raspberries, nuts and some tropical fruit - pineapple and mango. There is coconut to add by the water cooler. Go all out and mix in some maca powder for more vitality. If you want something warm, they have oatmeal bowls, but it's not what people come here for, so you may have to wait a while. It's not even that exciting, so, I'd suggest spending your money on the bowls or a smoothie. Boost it up with spinach or avocado - yes! They had some other food choices too like avocado toast and some pre-made cookies, but, I think it's a bowl place primarily! Great little place. Nice seating by the window in bar stools. Some tables inside and a few outside. Good choices. Almond milk in the bowls and smoothies - delicious. Go here, order bowl, be happy.

Yelp
ERRRRRMERGERD. This place is heaven!!!! I'm such a ho for açaí bowls and always try them left and right wherever I can find them. I had this spot bookmarked for a while and finally made it over after a nice lunch meal at Menya. (I know... I was stuffed but still made room for this bowl.) The staff are all really friendly and helpful when selecting an item from the menu and prices are NOT bad for a yummy açaí bowl. I ordered the peanut butter blended açaí bowl (vervacious) added some honey to it and oh my goodness.. it was soooo delicious. The fruits tasted so fresh and the blend- amazing! Can't wait to come back and try all the other bowls!
google avatar

Isabella B.

Yelp
Best acai bowls I've ever had. Good avocado toast, better when they had red pepper flakes.
google avatar

Julie S.

Yelp
I have been here twice, and it was delicious both times. I have tried both the açaí bowl and the pattaya bowl. The açaí bowl is sweet, while the pattaya bowl has a little less flavor, and tastes more like the ingredients that are combined with it. The atmosphere is great, it is really quiet and not too crowded, and it is tucked away in a nice area, which is so refreshing for Capitol Hill! My only complaint is the price. It's a great treat, but it's definitely not a meal, so it's a little pricey for what it is. Still delicious though and will definitely be back.
google avatar

Danielle D.

Yelp
The smoothies are good and the employees are always friendly, but the service is painfully slow at times. The amount of time it takes Verve to complete my order when I'm the only person in the store is equal to if I have to wait in a five person line at a different smoothie shop.
google avatar

Pooja K.

Yelp
Amazing place with beautiful outdoor seating options! We tried the vervacious bowl and loved the peanut butter flavor in it. Definitely will Visit them Again to try out their other açaí bowls!
google avatar

Trisha M.

Yelp
Verve has the perfect selection of acai bowls, pitaya bowls, dragon fruit bowls, smoothies, and house food. Everything is super yummy and refreshing, great for the summertime! The only downside is the slow service. Order ahead of time or be prepared to wait a while for your order to be ready, especially on hot and sunny Seattle days. Overall our go-to Acai bowl spot in Seattle!!
google avatar

Haiku R.

Yelp
Green smoothies and bowls Nutritious and delicious Not for dining in Our favorites are Mudslide and Chaggachino Great for hangovers
google avatar

Mary W.

Yelp
Really enjoy their açaí bowl, it's not very sweet perfectly blend with fruits. Love them that you can add as much coconut flakes and honey as you want at the end of the counter! The place is very cute for a date or even for meet ups! The cashier was very friendly and trying to get to know you , you can't get this kind of service anywhere :)
google avatar

Shaquita Y.

Yelp
The base of the acai has a unique taste and a lot of the fruit seems to be frozen and not fresh. Hard to find this location since it's located within a building and doesn't have signage on the building from the street
google avatar

Michael L.

Yelp
Stopped by because we were craving an Acai bowl. We usually go to Kauai and visit our favorite Acai Bowl place called Aloha Aaina located in the Lihue area. This place wasnt bad, but the prices were a bit overpriced; their large sized bowl was the regular sized bowl at Aloha Aaina and it was only $12 @ AA. That's the one thing that would prevent me from coming to Verve again is the price. The Beast Bowl I had was ok but it isnt Aloha Aaina sadly.
google avatar

Emery Anne D.

Yelp
Delicious, perfect-sized açaí bowls! Service was fast and friendly. They have a system where you order through one door and pick it up from the other - I do feel like this could get confusing/crowded if it was busy.

Grace E.

Yelp
TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! All of the employees were rude and dismissive. Additionally they were listening to Kanye West, and fuck Kanye.
google avatar

Kay N.

Yelp
I love this place! I was craving acai bowls due to coming back from Hawaii recently and I'm so glad I found this place. They add a good ratio of acai, fruit, granola! The bowl was refreshing and healthy. They have a section by the cashier of different syrups and coconut flakes! Omg, I can add on as much coconut flakes as I want. Winning! There is plenty of seating here. I wouldn't choose this place to study though bc the blenders can be so loud and the servers kept dropping things and making additional noises.
google avatar

Kate Q.

Yelp
I loooove the Vervacious bowl. It just hits the spot! Has the perfect amount of peanut butter in the base, the granola and crushed almonds are such a nice texture, and i add honey and coconut flakes on top (they are free). I have never been disappointed here. I love that this is a newer small business started in Seattle. The workers are really nice. I will be coming here every time I crave an acai bowl. Thank you!!! :)

Yelp
I'm really big on having smoothies or fresh pressed juices in the morning to start off my day. And I love finding new places to try even when I'm out of town. Verve was good - not the best but definitely not the worst. Maybe it was our smoothie selections but the smoothies we ordered felt a bit lackluster. I ordered the Bee Green which comes with bee pollen. I'm not sure if it was blended directly into the smoothie but I felt as though it gave the smoothie a gritty texture so I didn't really enjoy it as much as I had anticipated to. I've had bee pollen sprinkled on my açaí bowls at other places so I know it's a nice little addition. My boyfriend had The Hulk and it was super thick and and a little too chalky for my personal preference. I felt like the whey protein really overpowered the flavor of the other ingredients as well. I will say that Verve has a huge menu selection to pick and choose from so maybe next time I'll have better luck with a different smoothie or even try one of their açaí bowls! Staff are super friendly too! FYI the shop is nestled in the courtyard of an apartment complex so you won't really find the place directly off the street

Parker K.

Yelp
Delicious acai bowl. Just ok on the inside. More of a take away spot than stay in kind

Armando D.

Yelp
Bowls are pretty basic, no spirulina, hemp seeds, pumpkin seeds, honey, or cacao in any of their bowls. Açaí itself was decent, but just felt like it was lacking that little extra touch with better toppings. 3/5
google avatar

Antoinette N.

Yelp
Added ginger + peanut butter to the base of my James & the Giant Peach açaí bowl--heavenly. I hope someone else tries this combo!
google avatar

Willy M.

Yelp
Acai bowls are absolutely delicious!!! I really like this place and been here a few times already and really enjoyed my bowls. Been coming here after a tough workout sesh, and this is a great food to satisfy that hunger and also put some flavor in your mouth from just drinking water for hours. So far I've only tried their signature bowls such as the "Vervacious" (acai, bananas, blueberries, peanut butter, granola and almonds) this is a good bowl if you like peanut butter. Very delicious and a bowl you don't want to share when someone asks you if they could get a bite. Also I've tried the "James & the Giant Peach" (acai, peaches, kiwi, strawberries, granola, almonds) this was very tasty as well, so this one you can't really go wrong. They offer some complimentary self serve agave or honey if you would like a little extra drizzle on top of your bowl. There's only 2 sizes for the bowls, Regular or Large, regular seems plenty for me but technically I could eat a large, because it's that good. Prices seem on the high end but it's worth it to me. Glad I don't live nearby because I would be here almost daily. Small little dining area inside with a few tables and some ledge seating with stools. Staff has been super friendly and helpful and can explain anything to you, also allow you some samples to try out if you aren't sure. Place may be a little tough to find, it's inside the newly done up Pike Motorworks Bldg next to Linda's Tavern. Just go down the main entrance towards Redhook Brewlab and you will see it. Glad I came by and will continue to stop by when I get a chance!
google avatar

Jasmine D.

Yelp
I really liked their Valentine's bowl with the coconut base, but I was a bit traumatized to find hair in it. I hate to be that person but that's literally my biggest pet peeve and something that really bothers me.
google avatar

Erin N.

Yelp
I've been hesitant on trying açaí places out here in Seattle because I'm originally from Hawaii where the açaí bowls are legit and not made to taste altered from mainland tastes and flavors. It has become a big trend up here on the mainland so it's hard for me to find places that I feel make authentic and good value açaí bowls. After hiking with my other hawaii friend who lives up here, we decided to try Verve Bowls did açaí since it was close to my house. I got the berry yum acai bowl in the regular size. With tax and tip, it came out to about $9. The portion was a good amount and the fruit used was fresh. My friend got the same thing but since she is gluten free, she got the same thing but with gluten free granola. Both were good even with the gluten free options. This was probably the best açaí bowls I have had here so far and I will definitely be coming here more often! It's actually so dangerous that I can walk there! Highly recommend for açaí lovers!
google avatar

Isabel W.

Yelp
When Seattle hit 110 degrees, it's time to cool down with some açaí fruit bowls and green healthy smoothie. Highly recommended Verve Bowls! The staff was very welcoming and my friends and I love what we each ordered!
google avatar

Dianna N.

Yelp
I was craving an acai bowl so came to check this place out. Verveavious $9.95 for large: I chose this one because of the peanut butter. It was ok, I have had better in the Bay Area, and it's hard to top Hawaii. It does take some time because they make each bowl on order.
google avatar

Tia M.

Yelp
Street parking and the time of day I went there was actually quite a few spots. The verve is located a little back from the street but easy to find. Not a very welcoming upbeat staff. Wasn't welcomed when I walked in even though I was 1 Of 2 customers in there. They were out of patiya and there wasn't much that didn't have it in it. A lot of banana based and I just wasn't in the mood for bananas. I opted for the avocado toast. Extremely over priced. 2 slices of toast with avocado salt and pepper 2 tomato slices and an olive oil drizzle. I ate one slice and threw the other away. I would've loved to try the bowls but they didn't have the ingredients. Probably won't go back since there's other places that are friendly and have the ingredients!
google avatar

Mike M.

Yelp
Lately I have been going out a lot to try different acai bowl places. This time I went to Verve Bowls in Capitol Hill & tried their Vervacious which consists of acai blend w/ blueberries, bananas, peanut butter, almond milk, granola, strawberries, & crushed almonds. Although it states there's peanut butter, either it's a very subtle amount or they just forgot to add it. Because I did not taste any peanut butter at all. It was honestly a disappointment. I usually only ever eat acai bowls w/ peanut butter so I couldn't find myself to enjoy it. The acai bowl was decent compared to places like Kitanda.
google avatar

Stacy S.

Yelp
My bowl is always made in a timely manner which I appreciate. Verve Bowls is pretty delicious and I love how they let you put your own honey and coconut on top. I usually get the vervelicious bowl. I would say the quality is pretty great, I would just suggest that there are a little more toppings, because I always seem to be left with mostly açaí after I finish half my bowl. Other than that, highly recommend and I will come back here when I'm in the cap hill area.
google avatar

Nicole A.

Yelp
***Note: this location is located in the courtyard of an apartment complex, so you won't be able to see if from the street and will have to walk in.*** I've ordered from this place a few times, as well as frequented their Fremont location, so I feel like I can speak to their consistency as a chain. My go-to order is the vervacious with a drizzle of honey on top and it's so good!! The texture of the açaí itself is the perfect- firm and not instantly going to melt, but also not too thick that it's hard to eat. The granola is also nice and crisp and there's just something about the crushed almonds (they taste almost candied?) that's addicting! The rest of their menu looks delicious too and I would probably be pleased if I branched out, but the vervacious is just right up my alley.
google avatar

Megan T.

Yelp
We needed a healthy alternative for breakfast being from out of town. We uber'd here and our driver dropped us off on the corner, you have to enter an alley to get to this place. The staff could have been a bit nicer. The bowl was good, similar to other acai bowls that I've had. Nothing spectacular here
google avatar

Sean A.

Yelp
Good food & Vegan, sometimes slow service but I think the owner got exposed for being unfair or something. Try their Veracious Bowl w/ almond butter!!! (9/10)
