The 9 Best Instant Coffees Out There | Eater

"The single-origin instants tend not to have the intense acidity of some East African offerings but instead offer a pleasant, rounded flavor that’s accessible to newcomers; the roaster currently has a broad instant portfolio (about 15 offerings, including a decaf). The medium-roast Wilder seasonal blend is a standout, with flavor notes listed as “sweet, tart pluot; delicate cherry leaf; and floral dandelion.”" - Oliver Strand

Stopped by this vibrant, cute & cozy coffee place in Palo Alto. They also do have a variety of coffee beans for purchase & some pastries. Pastries looked good to the eye even though I didn’t give a try. Ordered a latte (with a pistachio milk) since they don’t have a pistachio latte flavor. It was good. Service was good and the cafe was clean with a lot of natural light coming in.

Google
Great loco.. Great decor.. all else HORRIBLE. The person taking the order was utterly useless, full of attitude, and disattached from reality. Customer " I like a large hot black tea" Cash register young lady, " when you say hot tea, what do you mean by HOT tea?" Customer, confused, " Hot tea ☕️? You know, 'hot' Tea? " Cashier, "we have many types of hot tea" Customer, "black tea... English Breakfast".. Cashier, ".........." not understood. Customer, " just give me coffee" Some other useless exchange. $5 later.. a cup of black coffee. 7 min later, Customer recognized coffee taste as the juice of a half bucket basketball (a used one).. uaaakjhhh

The coffee is excellent and the quantity is generous. Also, they sell Manresa Bread pastries. Anyway, they don't provide trays, so you have to be careful about serving to sit at the outdoor table. You'll understand if you look at the floor. Hahaha. You can taste pretty good coffee around here, so I recommend you to stop by.

Google
The cappuccino was fine, borderline 5 stars. It was pretty hot but the milk was whipped nicely. They did not have all the coffee options though, e.g they could not make espresso tonic. They have two matcha kinds to select from which is nice

I went here on Sunday morning! The place has a very refreshing ambiance. Their coffee (macchiato), chai and avocado toast were top notch! Really enjoyed the experience. The avocado toast was good for two people :). The presentation of coffee and food was also great. Great job!

Google
Delicious coffee, fast service, and a beautiful location make this cafe one of my absolute favorite places to start my morning. From the moment you walk in, the warm and inviting atmosphere instantly lifts your mood. The staff greet you with genuine smiles that make you feel like a valued regular, even if it’s your first visit. The service is impressively quick without ever feeling rushed, and the quality of the coffee is consistently excellent. I especially love how the location adds to the overall experience, whether you’re grabbing a drink to go or sitting down to enjoy the morning light on their outdoor seating. It’s truly a gem in the neighborhood and a place I look forward to visiting again and again.

We got Matcha,Blueberry cold foam Matcha and an Iced Latte. Kids really liked it, I'm just indifferent! Service was prompt and the person helping us was very knowledgeable and helped decide what to try.

Google
Love visiting this coffee shop! Heard a lot of positive things about Verve and they are all true! Had a nice mix of modern and traditional coffee drinks. The cashier was kind of answering all my questions. The single origin Kenyan pour over was delightful. It is very popular so expect seats to be full! I visited in February but in the summer they have a lot more seating outside. Highly recommend!

Yelp
One of my favorite coffee spots in downtown Palo Alto. Great location too, especially before or after brunch nearby. Plenty of outdoor seating but indoor seating is limited and popular. Free open wifi! They always have seasonal drinks which are fun to try, but my favorite will already be their Nitro Flash Brew. A little pricy but it's DTPA!

Yelp
This is in downtown Palo Alto, so nice area. They have inside and outside seating. I ordered a matcha with oat milk and added vanilla. Matcha was ok, not the best, but my friends got coffee and they both enjoyed it. Service is quick as well.

Yelp
20 minutes to hand me a pour over coffee...nobody checked in to see what drink I was waiting for even though I was right in front of the bar for 10 minutes trying to make eye contact with multiple employees. Everyone just seemed to be in their own little world without a care in the world. SMH Terrible experience.

Yelp
This is a cute coffee shop in downtown Palo Alto with amazing coffee and matcha lattes! Everything I've tried here has been amazing quality and I love their almond croissants. The ambiance is great- natural light, indoor and outdoor seating, although it can get very busy in here. This spot is perfect for a special treat or coffee date.

Yelp
I'm a big fan of Verve Coffee! I've been coming to Verve for years and their drinks are consistently good. I usually get their lattes or pourover. Recently they revamped their matcha menu and it was amazing - highly recommend the strawberry cold foam matcha! Normally, strawberry matcha drinks from other places adds a strawberry purée into the matcha drink and I don't particularly like the chunks from the strawberry. The strawberry cold foam matcha is perfect because I get to enjoy the matcha with a hint of strawberry from the foam, and the strawberry dust on top gives tiny specs of berry tartness. Perfectly balanced and I'm obsessed! I brought my own glassware to be environmentally friendly and for the aesthetics hehe (also a small discount if you BYOC). My dad also loves verve beans. The Wilder is one of my favorites. Very fragrant and floral. The new packaging is cute even though I'll miss the old designs. This location is very accessible by Caltrain (like 3 minutes walk from station). Parking is a bit limited but doable (2-3 hour parking near by in Palo Alto downtown). Friendly staff, space limited but not impossible, no outlet fyi

Yelp
Stopped by Verve and the buzz was real. Their Matcha Latte was perfectly balanced--not sweet and they offer various matcha options. Also tried the seasonal strawberry drink, a unique light cherry foam on top. The place has a trendy, minimal vibe with quick service despite the crowd. Definitely worth a visit, especially for the matcha! I'll be back to explore more drinks.

Yelp
Came here on a Wednesday early afternoon with a friend after hearing great things about this place! Being our first time, we asked the barista for their recommendation and they suggested their seasonal cold brew, which we ended up ordering one each. Unfortunately, we both didn't enjoy this seasonal cold brew, as it was quite acidic and sour. However, I think this was intended and this drink just wasn't our drink of choice. We wanted to give it another try, so we came back around and ordered a matcha latte and a mocha instead. The staff noticed that we were ordering for the 2nd time and kindly offered the new drinks on the house, which we thought was such a thoughtful gesture. ~The Drinks~ - Seasonal Cold Brew: As mentioned earlier, it was too acidic and sour for our taste, but maybe someone else who enjoys more acidic drinks would enjoy! - Matcha Latte: Not bad! The matcha taste was strong enough and not bitter. - Mocha: Classic drink, not too sweet, not too bitter. I'd say it was a perfect balance between the coffee and chocolate. ~The Vibes~ LOVE their outdoor seating options as they have trees and lots of tables and seats! On a nice day, this is such a cute place to get a nice drink and catch up with friends. Overall, I'd say even though we didn't enjoy the initial cold brews, their staff are so friendly and I love the cozy vibes. Definitely worth a visit!

Yelp
Cute little coffee shop that was very open and modern. Quite busy for a weekday morning. I ordered a latte, taste was good but not anything special and average pricing.

Yelp
Uniqueness: Trendy coffee shop with good vibes and solid espresso Wait Time: **** (Usually quick, but can get busy) Food Quality: N/A (Didn't try the food) Service: **** (Friendly and efficient staff) Setting: **** (Great atmosphere, modern and inviting) Cost: *** (A bit pricey but standard for specialty coffee) Verve Coffee has a great atmosphere--modern, inviting, and perfect for getting some work done or just hanging out. The coffee and espresso are solid, not the absolute best, but definitely above average. The staff is friendly and efficient, and while the prices are on the higher side, that's expected for a specialty coffee shop. If you're looking for a good coffee spot with a chill vibe, Verve is a great option.

Yelp
I've been coming to verve since 2022 and this is probably my favorite speciality coffee shop. They are consistently high quality in their coffee and tea quality and preparation. Their staff is friendly (and very cool!) and the service is decently quick for how busy they can get. The interior is on the smaller side but still a beautiful place to study or work while you enjoy the sun coming in. Here's a longer review Food: 5/5 I've tried their espresso based drinks, teas, and matcha based drinks. I'm really impressed by their recent switch to ceremonial grade matcha and really love their Sparkling Matcha Grapefruit (I got it 4 times now since they released it in late Jan 2025) and the strawberry cold foam matcha latte. Their pour overs are very high quality and their teas!!! Thank god they actually use loose leaf teas and time their tea brewing. I've been to similarly priced coffee shops and they just don't meet verve's level of attention to detail. I also really love their grab and go chia pudding and overnight oats. It's a guilty pleasure because it's quite pricy and I know I can make it at home but ... man I don't know how... they have some special recipe or something! Service: 4/5 ~ 5/5. Only saying 4/5 BECAUSE when it's busy, it's a little more "efficient" which is totally fine!! However, the staff are so nice and friendly and will strike up a conversation with you during less busy times. I want to give a special shout out to Fernanda - she remembered my boyfriend and I and even asked how I liked the sparkling matcha grapefruit. Everyone is very friendly there despite how busy it can get. Ambiance: 5/5 always a busy and hip spot. I'll point out something special - they sell actually really good coffee brewing materials. When I was making pour overs at home, I would come here for the freshly roasted beans and filters and what not. I also like the rotating selection of merch. The place is kept clean for the most part too! Overall, I really appreciate verve's consistent attention to detail and the ability to produce high quality drinks at such a high volume. They have a rotating selection of seasonal drinks, while keeping a high quality base menu. The staff is friendly and the spot is a nice one to check out!

Yelp
Just very good coffee! The Gibraltar and cappuccino taste like Italy. I can never skip this coffee shop when I'm around. Tip: Although the line may seem very long, it moves quickly--don't be discouraged by the wait; just come in!

Yelp
Back in Palo Alto for 36 hours, and I had to get my AM coffee here. Staff is friendly and offers informed suggestions on the wide variety of coffees they offer. The playlist is thoughtfully mellow for a Saturday morning. And the almond croissant? I might share a bite.

Yelp
GET THE MISSILE. I came here after brunch at Sweet Maple because a friend insisted I had to try the coffee. I've always heard about Verve but never really went out of my way to check it out. My friend ordered The Missile for me since I had no idea what to get, and honestly? I've been missing out big time. The Missile is made up of coffee concentrate, their house-made syrup, and cream, and it's perfectly balanced. Not too sweet, not too heavy--just the right mix of creaminess and sugar. Even if you're someone who doesn't usually go for sweet coffee, I think you'd still love this. Plus, it comes out fast, which is always a win. The space itself is super cute and modern, with lots of plants that give it a cozy vibe. It's the kind of spot where people come to work, study, or just hang out for a bit. If you'd rather sit outside, there are some outdoor seats, too. The service was awesome. The baristas were so friendly and explained what The Missile was (because let's be real, the name does sound a little intense). They were quick and made the whole experience really enjoyable. 10/10 would come back. If you're at Verve, do yourself a favor and order The Missile. You won't regret it.

Yelp
Drinks were fine. I usually go to this location when I'm near the area. The 1-star is because of one of the baristas who provided very poor service. I came in at around 10:30-10:45 AM and ordered two drinks. It was busy so didn't mind waiting at all. There was a woman and two men at the espresso machine and hand off plane. My wife's latte was called first. We waited about 3-4 mins and there were a couple of drinks that were called out after. I ordered an espresso tonic, so I asked the woman (had pink in her dark hair) if the tonic was on its way since I assumed drinks would be called out at the same time for the same order. She provided ZERO eye contact and had a horrible tone in her voice when she replied "it will be up shortly". It left a bad taste in my mouth. I wasn't pushy or rude. Only checked if it was coming. Who ever this woman is, I hope she had a better day because whatever was going on was reflective in her attitude and customer service.

Yelp
Biggest takeaway is the staff are SO great! Dina and Fernanda were super sweet- very helpful and receptive when we shared what type of coffee we wanted to give us a good recommendation and make sure we left happy with our coffees (which we absolutely did)! The honey lavender draft latte was a little bitter for our liking BUT their take on the Vietnamese iced coffee was perfect! Sweet and creamy and without dulling out the flavor of the coffee! Lots of seating indoors and outdoors- outdoor seating was cute and had a variety of options shared table, bench, individual coffee bar, etc
google avatar

Angel L.

Yelp
We got the matcha cappuccino and matcha cortado! They tasted the same; the milk ratio was just the slightest bit different. The matcha was simultaneously bitter and flavorless, and there weren't really any tea notes besides bitterness. It's a cute place though, with lots of outdoor seating! Drinks came out pretty quickly despite being busy.

Yelp
Found this coffee shop on Yelp and had to stop by when I was in the area. Matcha 6.5/10, coffee 10/10. Ordered the strawberry foam matcha and the matcha was not strong, so it felt like I was just drinking strawberry milk. They make their Matcha in a big batch (and pour it out of a squeeze bottle), and I don't think it's sifted when being made, which makes the drink gritty. As somebody who makes Matcha at home every morning, my standards are pretty high though, so it may be good to most. My husband ordered the vanilla latte and said it was great and he would have it again!
google avatar

Carla K.

Yelp
I got the Verve breakfast sandwich and the goat cheese toast. Both were amazing!!! I really recommend the toast. It tasted great and looked pretty too. The drinks were nice and I have no complaints. I liked the friendly service and the kind baristas. The cafe is spacious and plays good music. The seating area outside is peaceful and I enjoyed sitting there!
google avatar

Maansi S.

Yelp
I had a delicious coffee here and the coffees ordered came out pretty fast! The barista was also very nice to remake one of our lattes when he realized that the wrong milk was used. Would love to come back when visiting California!
google avatar

Brooke A.

Yelp
Top tier ambience and coffee! This Verve location is one of the best I know of. There is a ton of outdoor seating that is surrounded by greenery in a great central location. The baristas are always friendly. Service is pretty quick considering the number of people who come through. I've had their single origin soy latte and their matcha, both of which are delicious. The single origin latte is quite strong, even with the milk. Great coffee shop on all counts!
google avatar

Joe C.

Yelp
I usually come here to read, catch up on some work, meet up with friends coupled by a cup of coffee. The interior space is limited so you might not be able to always get a seat. They have some outside seating around but it does get very hot in the afternoon. I lost track of time once and stayed until they were closing, the staff was so nice to give me a couple pastries to go because they saw how exhausted I looked from working.
google avatar

Sabrina J.

Yelp
Pretty cute coffee shop but it's super crowded so I don't love it inside. They have a nice seating area outside though and it feels like summer at the end of winter already, so very pleasant outside. My iced latte was pretty good. If you ask for a cup for here, they'll give you a real cup instead of a plastic one as I prefer.
google avatar

Atiq R.

Yelp
This infamous verve has no charging outlets. Often times, we buy the drink and end up in Starbucks close to it for charging devices. Lately, thinking of skipping this store and probably directly buying from Starbucks instead since they are being more useful! This store can get hot during summer doors being left open. Also this store closes early, 6pm! Restroom code: 7395# Parking in PA downtown zone wise expires every two hours till 5pm. Public parking garage is close to Arya Steakhouse. Pros - Nice water fountain, WiFi, restroom and hard working staffs. - Environment friendly: has properly marked recycle, compost and landfill bins - Personal cup discount $0.25
google avatar

Mariel Ashley S.

Yelp
Go to order: missile + avocado toast The missile is delicious and always a go to whenever I come here. It's tasty and a nice little coffee treat. I usually like my coffee taste much stronger but this drink is more on the milky and sweet side, but yummy nonetheless. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. The avocado toast has this delicious kind of pickled shallots on top that adds a good crunch to it. It's filling and overall the components exceed an average piece of avocado toast. There's seating inside and outside so a great place to do work, study, or just hang out. Plus the decor is cute. They have bathrooms as well! Parking is on the street or the lot that's located more so on the backside.
google avatar

Katherine D.

Yelp
Good coffee and tasty pastries with nice indoor and outdoor seating. Seems to be a good working space, as the indoor seats were primarily occupied by folks on laptops. Would revisit again if ever in the area!
google avatar

Candice H.

Yelp
Had no idea verve opened up here. That's how long it's been since I've explored the changes since 2020. They have two cold brew type drinks: one regular, and it is so good, tasteful. It comes out brewed looking like brown foam, with no milk of course. The other is a cold brew with half and half and vanilla. I so wanted to try that but for someone who is lactose sensitive, it wasn't a good idea. The indoors seem more like a quick grab and go but I think they have a large seating area outside. It was too cold when I went. There was a small line rightfully so but can't wait to grab some more espresso or cold brews when I'm back in the area!
google avatar

Pardis S.

Yelp
My friend raved about Verve for a straight year, so when I came to visit, I knew I had to come and give it a go. I ordered a honey lavender draft latte with whole milk, which was so delicious! I seriously have not drunken a drink so fast. What I liked the most was the environment and the aesthetic of the coffee shop, the inside, and especially the outside patio. There were plenty of tables to study/work from and plenty of room to hang out with friends. The baristas were particularly kind and served me very quickly. I would come here again, I get why my friend was raving about Verve.
google avatar

Yelp
Great indoor and outdoor space to sit and get work done or catch up with a friend. Quick service. Delicious drinks. One of my go-to spots in PA!
google avatar

Liv V.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try this spot! It's such a cute coffee shop with seating. They also have wifi which makes a good spot for working or studying. The menu is pretty straightforward and the drinks come out quick. we tried the seasonal miso caramel latte and it was pretty yummy and unique.
google avatar

Tian L.

Yelp
Tried on a busy Friday afternoon. Asked for a cortado but they only have gilbraltar. The espresso is on the citrusy side, should have just ordered espresso. The barista made a terrible artwork. It's worse than not doing it.
google avatar

Lisette D.

Yelp
This was my second time here! The first time I came was on a Sunday during brunch and the second time was on a Thursday at noon. This area is always very busy. Thankfully there is a parking garage across the street. You'd be very lucky to find street parking. There was a line out the door but it goes by pretty quick. I ordered a missile iced coffee and it is by far my favorite drink of all time. I believe they have it premade because I got my drink 2 minutes after ordering. So convenient! Verve's coffee beans are one of my favorites in the bay. Definitely check out their location if you're ever in the Palo Alto area. They are also located in Santa Cruz and SF!
google avatar

Zeng W.

Yelp
I usually enjoy Verve, but this experience really missed the mark. I paid $6 for a cappuccino and got... a warm cup of milk with espresso. No coffee art, no texture to the foam--just poured in like an afterthought. The barista didn't seem interested in the craft at all, which was disappointing given Verve's usual standards. At this price point, I expect more care and consistency. Sadly, this felt more like a rushed drink from a gas station than a specialty coffee shop.
google avatar

Clare K.

Yelp
Visited Verve coffee today with a friend after brunch, and it was pouring rain outside. The place was packed with people seeking refuge and a warm cup of coffee. I tried their cappuccino with pistachio milk, and it was fantastic as always! Huge shoutout to the talented baristas who managed to whip up perfect drinks despite the rush. They really know their stuff!
google avatar

Clarizza A.

Yelp
Service here is amazing! The baristas were very kind and friendly. The guy at the cashier gave great recommendations and patiently explained what a Gibraltar was since we didn't know. For that alone this place gets a 5 star. There's a good amount of indoor seating and plenty of outdoor seating which connects to Sweet Maple. Some people brought their dogs with them and were sitting outside. A nice place to people watch and dog watch :) I got an iced chai w/ oatmilk (3.5/5). Now I usually like to get a dirty chai but decided against it because I didn't want the extra caffeine. I thought the chai was a good balance of sweetness and spiciness but it tasted a bit watered down. If this was a concentrate, I would ask for extra next time... and maybe get that extra shot to make it taste stronger. The Gibraltar (4/5) was great and tasted like how you'd expect. The foam was nice and the milk balanced the espresso well imo. Would come back here if I'm around the area! It was a great try :)

Yelp
Verve is known for their Santa Cruz and Aptos locations, and my experience at the Palo Alto one was quite unique and unlike any other. The wait was quite long post rush-hour, as I went in at 12:45pm... honestly, to say the line was short, I would be impressed. I normally read the reviews and they said that the line was out the door, so I found this quite surprising. I ordered a café au lait and a goat cheese toast and the coffee was spot on. The way they grounded the coffee beans were done quite well, in my opinion. The goat cheese toast was toasted well but contained a little too much stuff. Amazing service by the baristas and the people taking the orders - the ordering was swift and quick, and despite them being busy, they took the extra step to making sure that my stuff, including all other people's orders. The atmosphere was really bright and open, but what makes me dock one star is the fact that some people stand in the middle of the lobby without being aware that there are other people getting in and out. This isn't the coffee shop's fault, but my recommendation is that there should be some regulation around that.
google avatar

Renee L.

Yelp
I ordered an iced matcha latte which was not sweetened which is good. The drink itself tasted more of milk and a slight matcha taste. I wouldn't order it again but will likely come back to try some of their coffee drinks. The service was quick. There is limited seating inside and is usually full and there is outside seating.
google avatar

Anna A.

Yelp
Very mixed review as each aspect of my experience varied! Drink: obviously the main reason I came here but I was wildly disappointed! I ordered the iced seasonal raspberry mocha. Upon arrival it was only half full? And the coffee quality itself was not very good and a bit sour. The latte also tasted neither like raspberry or mocha. For a $7 latte plus tip I would have expected a higher quality drink. Although the service here is amazing and the barista are extremely friendly! I also wanted a place to read for an hour and this location offers abundant indoor seating as well as shady outdoor seating. This place seems very popular and has raving reviews so maybe it was just this one bad drink :(
google avatar

Melissa L.

Yelp
Came here with a friend and tried the matcha latte and the chai latte!! both were a bit on the pricier side but that's expected being in Palo Alto. The matcha wasn't too sweet which I preferred because the matcha taste came through a lot better that way. The chai was a bit sweeter. Verve drinks are also known to have a good amount of caffeine so be careful if you drink this on an empty stomach! I was definitely jittery for a few hours after leaving haha
google avatar

Zaro K.

Yelp
This place is pricey but they have great coffee. I've been there three times & it has not disappointed. It's a pretty loud spot. The service is nice nothing great stood out in terms of experience but they just want to move the line along. There usually is a line because I've gone on the weekends at various times & waited to order. It's nice watching the baristas do their thing while you wait for your order. They have nice pastries & a pretty clean atmosphere inside the shop. I recommend checking it out!
google avatar

Cassie J.

Yelp
Three stars mainly for service. The gal who took my order seemed a bit spacey, if that's the correct word? I ordered 2 coffee drinks but for some reason she only put 1 of them on my order so I was waiting for my second drink for quite some time before realizing she never put the cappuccino on my order. There was also some obvious miscommunication between the baristas and the gals taking orders because while I was standing there waiting they let the front girls know that multiple orders were being put in to the system wrong (to-go instead of for-here, iced instead of hot, hot instead of iced, you get the picture). Needless to say I wasn't too surprised about my missing Capp once I heard this. Besides service, my latte and sandwich were delicious. I got the iced latte with house flavor and the breakfast sandwich. Next time I'll order the sandwich without the jam.

Yelp
Downtown Palo Alto has plenty of coffee places, but this was really good. I got a cappuccino and when ordered for here, they give you a class cup, which makes it so much better. The ambiance is really nice as it has plenty of outdoor seating with trees and good options. Service was good.
google avatar

Alexis A.

Yelp
Super friendly baristas and clean interior! The place does get pretty crowded easily but there's also outdoor seating. The matcha latte is pretty good quality!

Yelp
I think Verve is a good coffee option if you are in the area and looking for a quick pick me up. The line is usually pretty long. I came on a Friday morning with some girl friends and we had to wait about 10-15 minutes. The ambiance is pretty and it is right in downtown so there's plenty of food options nearby which is a plus. Hot vanilla oat latte ($7.75): I got it to-go, but to be honestly I was a little disappointed to see they put a lid on and there was no latte art when I opened the cup (which is ok). Usually nicer coffee roasters do have latte art (not just for the aesthetic, but I like to see if the milk was steamed properly and espresso was pulled well). It was decent overall, nothing too impressive. A little sweet for my liking so I would ask for it 1/2 sweet next time. Matcha latte with oat milk (~$9): I was really shocked to see how expensive this came out to be but knowing the area I felt like it makes sense. The taste was good, had lots of matcha flavor with no weird aftertaste, but I'm not sure if a matcha latte is worth $9. Ambiance and seating: pretty interior and great outdoor seating if you are chatting with a friend or on a date (especially nice if it is a sunny day!!). I would NOT recommend studying here, there are 0 outlets and the tables are quite limited. We waited almost 30 minutes for an indoor seat to free up. Inside there are maybe 4 individual small tables, seats against the wall, and 2 large bar tables to sit at with strangers. Parking: there is plenty of 2 hour free street parking. I think it would be tedious to keep moving my car if I wanted to stay longer than 2 hours though (but there is a lot of police around downtown Palo Alto so definitely follow the rules...).

Yelp
Had a day trip to Palo Alto and stopped for coffee to start the day! Verve Coffee is located in downtown Palo Alto. I parked a few streets down, it was nice to walk around downtown and see a variety of shops and restaurants. Be mindful of parking during busy hours! Menu is pretty extensive and lots to choose from! I ordered a matcha latte (which comes unsweetened) but they do offer sugar packets if you would like! Butter croissant was mid, not worth $4, plus it was not given warm. There is a huge outdoor seating area and a few tables inside. We had to wait a bit for a table inside. It rained the night before so the chairs outside were still wet. Overall, I would come back whenever I stop by Palo Alto again. I would recommend this place to my friends and family!

Yelp
Verve is based in Santa Cruz with multiple locations in California. They are also located in Japan- cool! There was a line out the door when we arrived, but it moved steadily. The vibe is nice and there is seating available outdoors. I got the "Bowl of Soul" since I didn't want caffeine. It's a chamomile tea latte with soy, honey, and topped with chocolate sprinkles. It was just average to me, as I've had better ones in Sac. Overall, a cool place to catch up with a friend or chill.

Yelp
My standard go-to drink whenever trying a new coffee shop is the house drip. On this occasion, my friend recommended the kombucha on tap. I was pleasantly surprised as the flavors were aromatic and effervescent, a refreshing experience that paired nicely with the sunny weather. Looking forward to returning to try their coffee selection.

Yelp
Great place! Can get very busy so come if you have time. May not have places to sit, particularly for large parties but if you come at the right time that will help. Also decently pricy. I frequently get lattes with a flavor shot (generally vanilla) and the monkey bread. Super delicious!
