"Verve is a Santa Cruz-based coffee roaster with four shops in LA, all of which feature several attributes we love in a good coffee spot. Its breezy shops are gorgeous and perfect for long coffee dates. Their nitro “flash brew” on tap always has a thick foam cap like a beautiful pint of stout. If all you want is a well-made cappuccino, cafe au lait, or gibraltar, very few coffee chains are more consistent—and convenient—than Verve." - Sylvio Martins

Nice coffee shop. Stopped by and decided to try the one + one. It’s a shot of espresso with milk and one without. The coffee is really good, the bathrooms are clean. We didn’t get any food but the avocado toast looks amazing.

Walking around downtown Santa Cruz and decided to stop here based on the reviews . What a nice spot - big airy with wood and plants 🌱 . But the best part was how good the coffee was ! We had the missile which is their house syrup with half and half. And decided to try a pastry - it was so delicious! Worth every penny - do stop by if you’re in the area !!

Love this place. Friendly staff and great ambience. Coffee price is a bit high but quality is excellent. Had pour over. Special call out for the delicious biscuit and jam.

I have been coming here for a while. I like getting a mocha or a seasonal drink. The service is great. They have a variety of drinks and pastries. Would definitely recommend this place. I got a Miso Caramel Latte.

We love taking our daughter out to breakfast on the weekend. Its great to get out and about and Verve is one of our go-to spots. The atmosphere is lively and colorful in downtown and we like to choose a window seat and look out onto Pacific Ave and go for a walk after. My favorite order for food is the Avo toast and make sure to add 2 poached eggs for an excellent breakfast.

Just stopped for coffee here. Yes, just coffee because its so good. The ambience inside is tropical and calm because of the greens. There is almost always a line, so little bit wait until coffee arrives. Their coffee is smoother than any other that I have had in the bay. The BEST!!

Huge space with lots of lovely plants and wood tones. Friendly staff and delicious coffee. Vibrant space with people reading, working off laptops and families as well. We came around 5pm and wanted to try a sandwich but kitchen closed at 3 so will have to head back to try it next time

Located in the heart of downtown Santa Cruz, Verve Coffee Roasters is a must-visit for any coffee lover. The space is spacious and inviting, perfect for relaxing or getting some work done. The atmosphere is vibrant yet cozy, with a modern, laid-back vibe that makes you want to linger. The coffee is exceptional – rich, flavorful, and expertly brewed. With its prime location in downtown Santa Cruz, Verve is an ideal spot to fuel up while exploring the area. Highly recommend stopping by!

Yelp
A lot of my friends living or visiting Santa Cruz would always hype up Verve. I'd never been so I was excited when my companion was down to go. I will say that it fits well with the vibe of Santa Cruz, no wonder it's adored by so many. This is one of the many locations in Santa Cruz. The cafe is open and well-lit, clean and courteous, and has minimalistic decor with plants sprawled around. A hot spot for hangouts, study dates, and a nice fix of caffeine. You'll be surprised with how much seating there is from booth tables, communal tables, and bar seating. We enjoyed waiting at the bar counter while the fun baristas efficiently made our drinks. As a tea lover, I was allured by their Bowl of Soul. It was a warm soothing cup, light on the chamomile and forward on the soy milk! My companion had a summer specialty, a Citrus Cream Iced Latte with Oat Milk. It was delightful, sweet, and a nice hint of citrus. They offer lots of teas, coffees, and seasonal drinks with dairy alternatives. There are Verve Coffee Roasters all over California, but their downtown location is chic and charming. Located off of Pacific Ave. parking is metered on the street. I'd come back next time I'm in Santa Cruz for a caffeine fix!

Yelp
Verve Coffee stands out not just for its exceptional coffee but also for its innovative milk alternatives that elevate the classic matcha latte. I tried two versions: one with oat milk and another with pistachio milk. Both were delightful, each adding its unique creamy texture and flavor to the matcha, enhancing the overall experience. The pistachio milk, in particular, provided a subtly nutty taste that was both refreshing and distinctive. The atmosphere at Verve Coffee is modern and welcoming, making it a great spot to relax or catch up on work. The service is quick and friendly, adding to an already pleasant visit. **Highlights:** - **Service:** Efficient and friendly - **Quality:** Excellent, with a creative twist on traditional drinks - **Atmosphere:** Stylish and comfortable - **Price:** Reasonable for the quality and uniqueness **Tips:** If you're looking to try something different, go for the matcha latte with pistachio milk--it's a tasty and unusual option that's hard to find elsewhere.

Yelp
Ambiance: it's a spacious coffee shop located in downtown Santa Cruz, street or garage parking, very packed over weekend, limited indoor seating and no outdoor area Service: fairly fast although not as patient Drink: plenty choices on their regular menu for hot and cold drinks Iced Latte - *** light taste Chai Latte - **** creamy taste, recommend Price: normal price range for coffee drinks, each cost about $6

Yelp
This is one of the bigger locations of Verve in Santa Cruz, seasonal drinks (Matcha lemonade and Citrus iced latte) are really tasty! Refreshing for hot summer day!

Siddharth J.

Yelp
Nice coffee. Nice ambience. Nice service. Nice and friendly people. What more do you want in a coffee place one thing they can do is make their coffee slightly warmer if we ask it to be.

Priscilla R.

Yelp
I enjoyed an ice vanilla latte with oat milk. I've been coming to this coffee shop for years and they never disappoint! The service is always extremely pleasant and they're extremely fast when it comes to making your drinks/orders. The ambiance is great, I personally love the plant aesthetic they have. There are a lot of tables to sit at and enjoy your drink, parking around the area is also typically pretty easy to find.

Yelp
Food: The verge sandwich was fresh and very well put together. It was on the sweet side. The texture and the poppy seeds of this bread give it a new taste and very particular. They should sell the bread itself. The cheddar cheese was chewy and melted to perfection. I had to add the good stuff (bacon). They put their homemade ketchup with aoili. Normally, I will ask them not to put ketchup, but just give it a shot. It was yummy. The coffee was strong and the right balance of bitterness. Service: The ladies were very nice. They didn't make any suggestions or extra things that enhanced the experience. Ambiance: quiet and nice. It is great for a quick meeting, get together with a friend and family or wven a first coffee date. It doesn't fit a big group. Price: Fair price for the quality and the quantity of the food and coffee.

Yelp
First time here! I ordered the Iced Matcha Latte with sweetener. I've tried a bunch of Matcha Latte from other shops and this has to be the most average one yet. I am not sure if there were too much ice or not enough sweetener. Compared to the one at Starbucks too, this was not sweet enough! Although, I did love the customer service! Need to note that there is a 10% off for first time orders if you're subscribed. In addition, I love how much space & tables this location has! There were many people doing their work on a nice weekday. Would come back here and order one of the more popular drinks.

Sophie C.

Yelp
My favorite spot to get drinks and study downtown! Such a great ambiance inside- nice natural lighting, good seating options (if you get there early!), Wifi, bathrooms, cool baristas... they've got it all. Their espresso is very strong which I love! Their classic lattes and cappuccinos are amazing, and I love their rotating seasonal menu. This season, I've tried the pumpkin latte, peppermint mocha, and gingerbread lattes. All amazing! I will say that the prices here are pretty high, especially if you order a non-dairy milk. Most of my drinks are close to $7, but I think it's worth it if I'm studying for a few hours. They also have great pastries from Manresa Bread- try the ham and cheese croissant and the monkey bread!

Sasha D.

Yelp
Me and my friend came here on my birthday and were really excited to try this place but were a bit disappointed with the baristas the guy on reg was super nice and friendly makes sence why he's on reg but the baristas making drinks were really rude when we came to get our drinks, and my friend ordered a cosmic flash brew and it wasn't what she expected so she came up to make sure it was the right thing and they talked to her like she's dumb reg guy is a slay baristas on bar..

Yelp
This dog friendly little hangout is the perfect place to stop on your walk downtown for a pick me up and something light to eat. We grabbed a couple of the seasonal Cafe de Olla and settled down in some seats on the outdoor patio. The interior of the store is very lovely with live plants and sleek wood accents. Well branded merch and coffee. Service is always chill. Staff is quick but careful with their craft. The coffee is consistently high quality. They have another Santa cruz location that we've visited and they both are consistently delivering high quality coffee. We usually buy a bag of coffee beans to go when we visit since they carry special blends from time to time in store.

Yelp
Good latte 5/5 Good service 5/5 Price 5/5 I recommend it to you Very enthusiastic environment and at very

Christine C.

Yelp
I got an iced oat milk latte with one of their house syrups and it was very good! Unfortunately they don't have any sugar free syrups but their in house made syrup was really good. The ice latte was a bit on the sweet side for me. But their coffee is really good and you can taste the quality roast. I really enjoyed my drink despite it being a tad too sweet for me. Service was also really quick and friendly. And I love the cafe itself, it's extremely spacious and gorgeous inside, definitely a good space to work or study at.

Aaron B.

Yelp
Might be the best espresso I've ever had. Rich, great flavor, and incredibly smooth. Service was nice. Kind of annoying that all the tables were taken by single people camping with their computers. Music was a little loud. Not crazy loud but like 'you must listen' loud.

Dannie F.

Yelp
$ 4.5/5 - When shopping on Pacific Ave in Santa Cruz, a stop at Verve Coffee Roasters is a must. Firstly, the vibe is clean, modern, Scandinavian meets greenhouse. It's warm, inviting and the perfect place for a quick pick-me-up or great study spot. The staff was SO friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Their Honey Lavender Latte was perfectly balanced, not too bitter,  not too sweet, not too floral. I love a London Fog Latte and this was reminiscent of that. We also ordered a Kouign Aman, which is kind of a cross between a croissant and a dinner roll, a laminated dough that's a little more dense than a traditional croissant. I had never had one before, but let me tell you, it's quite amazing! After we finished our treats we headed on our way with a little more pep in our step.

Jerome and Baker D.

Yelp
Coffee's good--the literal actual only reason I go back. It seems like 1 employee in 5 will acknowledge you/treat you with normalcy/decency and not make you solicit them to please take your order? Possibly? Maybe? If it's not too inconvenient? . Erm, I guess other than feeling completely unwelcome/like my patronage is t wanted.... The coffee is good #MeanGirlVibes

Yelp
There are so many great coffee shops in Santa Cruz but Verve is just ok. I ordered a Flat White which was very good, rich & smooth, and I enjoyed it very much. Unfortunately, the shop experience was just ok. The two staff members that I interacted with, ordering and drink pickup, were not friendly. They were not rude or anything like that just very serious and business like, no "hi" or smiles and barely eye contact. The shop was busy but still a greeting beyond "can I take your order" would have been nice. The shop itself was very nice, immaculately clean and aesthetically very pleasing. But the vibe was not warm or friendly including the other customers. I finished my coffee and left. Since there are so many other nearby options I will not be back.

Brooklyn B.

Yelp
Most expensive, and worst avocado toast I've ever had. Paid an extra $2 for a poached egg, that was never given to me (I ordered it to go). Took a couple bites and didn't want anymore, nauseating??? Mushy, eggless, and unappetizing. Wouldn't recommend

Shru M.

Yelp
I absolutely loved this location of Verve Coffee! It's right in the middle of one of the most happening areas of Santa Cruz and there is plenty of paid parking around enabling you to find a good spot. The baristas were super friendly, coffee top notch like always, but the real star was the food we got! We ordered the goat cheese toast which was perfectly made and the jam biscuits are going to haunt my happy dreams with how buttery and well made they were! Run here and get them!

Vu D.

Yelp
The place is packed for a reason. Good coffee, lots of seating, clean bathrooms, and nice background music. One of the better iced americanos I've had.

Stan W.

Yelp
Great location in Santa Cruz. I spent a couple hours there meeting with a friend and was never bothered by the servers. The feel of the place was very relaxing, and they played top-40 hits just a little too loud. The restroom wasn't very clean, but it was used by all, a lot. As for the tea, I had a jasmine tea, but it was iced with honey. It was delicious. The only drawback was the parking, in which I had to feed the meter $.75 every 30 minutes. Price: $6

Hye Kyung K.

Yelp
matcha latte, hot with honey - Smooth and not too sweet. The swan art is so well done. breakfast sandwich - it's so sweet. I wasn't sure if the bacon was caramelized or if there was jam in it but it tastes like dessert; I think the ketchup might be made in house and it's overly sugary. the bread was nice and toasty with lots of poppy seeds. very eggy. I won't get this next time unless I feel like having this as dessert 5 stars for the drinks and interiors, but not so much the sandwich so I settle at 4

Valerie J.

Yelp
Service sucks, very expensive for what you get, not much seating, unless you go outside. Not the place to go in the rain!

Kelly S.

Yelp
Cool, clean vibe with quality coffee in downtown Santa Cruz! Metered street parking is available. When we walked in there was a line and people already enjoying their coffee or tea. This place is a great spot to hang out with friends or catch up on some work. We ordered a drip and latte with their house blend (vanilla/Carmel blend) and Verve Breakfast Sandwich with added avocado. If you are not a ketchup on a breakfast sandwich kind of person you might want to ask for it on the side or let them know no ketchup as the ketchup was strong for me. They use environmentally conscious products. As a coffee enthusiast I enjoyed the equipment, and the attention to deal, down to using a scale. Prices reflect quality and inflation.

Marvin Lawrence M.

Yelp
First time trying this coffee shop. High hopes based from the yelp reviews. When I first got in, the place is hot af! No AC, had one barely working fan. Waited in line for a while and was told about the wifi not working. So okay, went on a short walk and went back as I saw they're handing out orders. Ordered iced mocha and avocado toast. Iced mocha was okay, it was good but I had better. Almost 30 mins passed by and the avocado toast was nowhere to be found. I asked and they all looked puzzled. So long story short, one of the crew walked to me holding a receipt, I was told that because the system was down (more like crappy), order didn't came in and that their kitchen is already closed She did offered something from what they have but naaaaah. So the experience didn't start great and it lived up to it Not again

Yelp
Anyone who knows me, knows I love a few things unconditionally. 1. Cats / Dogs (of all ages and breeds) 2. Beer (Of most types: Stouts, Sours, Lagers, etc..) 3. A good drive with music 4. COFFEE My old roommate was also a coffee connoisseur. She was a manager at another local coffee shop. A thing her and I used to do on our days off, was go on coffee dates to small/local coffee shops all over the area. At some point we caught wind of Verve! We made our way over the 17 San Jose-Santa Cruz mountain and spent the day in the downtown area. Our primary goal: Coffee We found Verve at the North end of the downtown area quite easily. As you enter, the first thing we notice was how big this place is for a coffee shop. Like most coffee sops, you go to the front counter/cashier and place your order. The drink menu, like the size of this shop, is also very extensive. They have teas, and many different coffees from dark to light roast and everything in between. I went with a medium roast latte, my friend went with a wet cappuccino. We sat down and enjoyed ourselves. Overall: Like most coffees in the Bay Area, there is a bit of a markup for a cup of Joe. Service was friendly and hip. Every time I am in Santa Cruz, Verve is a definite stop.

Jisu L.

Yelp
Honey lavender latte: 4/5. Drink was a cold brew and was a great amount of sweetness and bitterness. Iced mocha: 4/5. Drink had a good level of sweetness and also had a great dark chocolate aftertaste. Overall the interior was really nice and there were a lot of places to sit and study. The service was really good and the workers were friendly.

Nick L.

Yelp
Enjoyed brunch with my spouse and daughter here before exploring the bookshop down the street. The staff is very friendly. The seating is plentiful and the place has a good atmosphere. Even though the turnover is high, the staff keeps the tables clean. The food and drinks are made to order and come out pretty quickly. They use quirky local ingredients and charge higher than typical prices for the privilege of eating local. It's good.

Anelita T.

Yelp
I am obsessed!! Best coffee I've had, even their chocolate chip cookie was delicious. Service has always been friendly and attentive. Ambiance is peaceful first thing in the morning. If you haven't tried their coffee, you need to!

Michelle B.

Yelp
Verve is a Santa Cruz classic, always a nice vibe and study space. The service is always friendly and sweet + fast. The drinks are delicious, one of the yummier matcha drinks!

Emily L.

Yelp
This place is highly rated, but I came on Saturday with friends and we got 5 different drinks and only 1 of the 5 was good. Maybe 2. Long lines and no seating, which is great for the business. House latte is the best. No subs. House latte with almond milk 5/10 Cappuccino - needed sugar from the person who drank it Pistachio date - good but nothing specular - 7/10 honey latte hot - too sweet 6/10 I would return, but just for the house latter no subs. And those who are lactose, take the hit and just take a lactic. Public street parking. Beware of the time limit, if not, go to the closest parking garage. Verve is located in the main dt area, so there's lots to see and walk around.

Lydia S.

Yelp
I got an iced honey lavender, it was decent, I couldn't taste very much honey or lavender, but I am also comparing it to the one I had at 11th hour coffee, which was very good.

Seth M.

Yelp
Drove down to Santa Cruz from San Jose to take the scenic route up to SF and had to stop at Verve. I've bought their beans back home in Texas, and have always considered them to be a GREAT roaster. The shop was full of energy, my Capp was solid, and the baristas were incredibly kind! Loved my experience!

Nina D.

Yelp
One of our favorite coffee places to go to whenever we are in this area! Hot or iced is always the debate because the coffee is so yummy either way.

Ally P.

Yelp
Good coffee, cute and open space environment, good service, But what is this tea? It's legit just water LOL

Shaima C.

Yelp
Verve coffee roasters is one of my favorites! I ended up getting the oat milk latte with honey and it was perfect! The espresso was so light, it was perfectly roasted. They also have various parties and a gluten free muffin, which was awesome! Stop by if you're ever in the area!

Kali R.

Yelp
I've only been here once but I will 100% be returning, the coffee was the best I've had anywhere plus the staff was friendly and I loved the chill environment as well!

Usha A.

Yelp
It's a coffee place with a variety of coffees and sandwiches. The vibe is great and you can see the long line up for the coffee of all ages. We loved the service and the lady who was creating her art work on the coffee with the creams. I ordered a pumpkin spice latte but one needs to really concentrate to taste any spice in the latte. There were eight of us and everyone got a latte, but the pumpkin spice latte was a disappointment.

Stephanie S.

Yelp
We love to visit verve when in town. Hands down the best iced coffee we have had. My daughter is a chocolate croissant connoisseur and theirs was next level! She only wished they offered to heat it up!

Ayşe Ç.

Yelp
I truly recommend the avocado toast at Verve - it was one of the best I have ever had. Beautiful atmosphere and very friendly people

Audrey S.

Yelp
Good service, pastries, wifi, seating for working, chill music, super cute decor, and street parking. No outlets though. Really liked this place.

Alejandra L.

Yelp
I tried the croissant it was really fresh, the service friendly and the ambiance with a lot costumers and the pumpkin pie latte so good and strong flavor. Me gusto la decoración en las paredes con plantas y las luces con pequeños focos colgando sobre el Coffee bar.

Brittany N.

Yelp
Just left, what a mess. As a barista myself, I know service can be overwhelming, that's not an excuse to provide shitty service. Coffee was ok, the employee who made our pour over did not pre rinse the paper filter. It was mad busy, and claustrophobic. Oh well ‍

Olya D.

Yelp
Good coffee and good pastries. We love getting iced coffee, oat milk latte, and an avocado sandwich There's usually a line out the door so if you don't mind waiting, it's a nice treat.

Gemma M.

Yelp
Like this place, the coffee is really good and the tea, peach kombucha. The service was really good and everyone is so nice. The ambiance is really nice as well. Definitely will recommend this place.

Dez O.

Yelp
Such a cute spot with beautiful greenery all around that makes the atmosphere that much better! The avocado toast and cappuccino was amazing! Pickled onion on top were delicious. Def worth coming to!

Monica M.

Yelp
Always reliably great. Love their Missile. Consistently fantastic coffee, kind staff, and tasty breakfast sandwiches. I also love their seasonal drinks like the pumpkin pie latte or gingerbread latte. This is also a great place to work. No plugs sadly and the WiFi can be spotty but a great atmosphere with lots of light.

Tajinder S.

Yelp
Nice coffee and served with a smile Ambience is good as well Will visit again The parking is plenty.

Matty L.

Yelp
Get the misil it's the best. Staff are awesome. Yelp wants me to say more good things so don't be a nerd go to verve
