"A bakery that opened its original location 118 years ago in Chicago, is closing on Tuesday. Now situated in suburban Berwyn, Vesecky’s Bakery announced its last day of business would be on Tuesday, December 5. A Czech-style bakery known for houska, kolacky, and hot dog buns, the Vesecky family announced the closure in October but today’s closing date was a bit abrupt." - Ashok Selvam

First time trying this place and all I have to say is BRAVO! I could not find FLOP CAKE anywhere else, and they made me 3 of them! They are delicious! The hotdogs on the bread are really good too. The other pastries I still have to try but I can already tell they are amazing 👏 . They will definitely see my face alot more here. Highly recommend the flop cake! Try it out

2 thumbs up for a Berwyn classic that’s unfortunately shutting down soon! Cheers to the Vesecky Family for keeping this gem around for decades despite changing demographics…thank you Debbie, Elaine, & Nancy! There’s so many regulars who have grown fond of the place - we showed up at 9am and they were almost out of everything except the pumpkin pie, kolacky, cherry slices and a couple rolls 😋

Vesecky's is that place when I am near where I grew up that I must go to. Vesecky's has been around before I came into the world. I have many amazing memories going there. When I played high school football at the concession stand for home games, Vesecky's bun wrapped hotdogs were there. Everything there is handmade and fresh. Vesecky's is really the last bakery left on Cermak Rd. for when I was a kid. 55 years old now, it's good to go to my old neighborhood and still able to go back in time to when I was a kid. The smells inside Vesecky's are amazing. I recommend if you are in Berwyn, IL, you must stop at Vesecky's. You need a cake for someone ordered it from there. You will be extremely happy.

Veseky’s has been a part of our Czech family gatherings for generations. My grandparents and great grandparents lived on Home Avenue in Berwyn. The houska, bagel dogs, coffee cakes and kolachky are the best. You will be greatly missed and I’m stocking up!

I purchased cakes from here on 3 separate occasions and they were delicious and really good looking every time. The first time, I got a last minute cake the day of my sister's birthday. They had a couple ready cakes and I went with the chocolate cake with white frosting. Everyone was impressed with how good it was. The second time, I ordered a double layer strawberry shortcake (pictured) for my wife's birthday. She was very impressed with how good it was, and so was everyone else. The most recent time, I ordered a half sheet single layer yellow graduation cake which was also excellent. I would definitely recommend this place for cakes of any occasion. I will definitely be coming back for more cakes.

First time visit from out-of-towner at Christmastime. It was exactly what I was hoping to find—a classic bakery with friendly people and great prices. Variety of kolacky flavors and wide assortment of Christmas cookies. My favorite was the cherry slice.
