Great ferry trip ran by kind and helpful alike. WARNING!! Buy your return ticket ahead of time or you may get stranded. This happened to us but we got lucky and were out on a waitlist and were able to get out without causing to much trouble. The staff was considerate to our situation and helped us in kindness. Thx!!

Quiet electric ferry. Clean. Always on time. Buy tickets online far ahead if you want to bring your car on a boat, advisable if you want to go to puffin watch spot

Great ferry experience as a passenger. Sat outside to see wildlife and happened to see a humpback on the way to Westman island. Clean facilities. Didn’t take our rental car on it but lots of folks did.

Recommend you make reservations in advance. We did not but they were very helpful, informative and professional to us. They said we were number 2 on the waitlist and there was a very high probability we would make it. As it got close to boarding time they called us to the desk and asked us to move our car into the standby line. All went well boarding the ferry. Once on board the seating was comfortable and there were lots of things to see and do. It was very windy and the most fun was watching people struggle to open the door to the aft deck. It's fun to go outside for a few minutes and feel the wind and light rain.

Very well run ferry service and I think it’s well priced too. You can stay in the inside seating area or you can go out on the deck and take in the views (the latter is highly recommended!). The ferry was very clean to include the bathrooms. Recommend booking ahead of time, particularly during the height of tourist travel if you will take a vehicle with you. I was impressed by the size of the ferry, there were a few tractor trailers on there for the return to the mainland. I booked ahead of time with plenty of cushion to make it through the airport, pick up rental, and drive down. I ended up being able to get down to the ferry much earlier than I estimated and there was space available so I was able to change my ticket for 500kr (~$3.63usd) which I thought was very reasonable.

Reservations are recommended. It is very helpful that they have a car deck, where you can store your car. Crew will come around and do a check, because you are not allowed to stay in your car for the duration of the ride. There are two areas, of the inside deck, restaurant, and a bus-like seating configuration. On the outside deck there are two levels, and upper level, and a lower level. The seas are sometimes rough, so this is a great way to get you and your car across!

Very smooth boat ride to and from the island. Lots of seating and an open seating area towards the back. We were able to ferry our campervan with us. Very reasonable pricing. Our ride to the island was after dark and it was cool to see the cliffs suddenly rising up out of the black.

Sadly the puffins are gone at this time in 2024. Did have a GREAT meal at my Vöruhúsið and the views are stunning.
