Vetta - Italian Eatery

Vetta Italian Eatery is such a great addition to downtown Lee’s Summit. The food was incredible. Everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared. You can tell they truly care about quality. The drinks were just as impressive. Creative, well balanced, and honestly some of the best I have had in the area. And the atmosphere? It fits downtown Lee’s Summit perfectly. It has an elevated yet comfortable vibe where you can dress up for a date night or grab dinner with friends and feel right at home. We will definitely be back. Highly recommend checking it out.

This was our second time here in a month and our waitress Rachel was very pleasant and polite. She went over the menu and ask if we had any allergies . To tell the chef. The food was excellent we had Chicken Parmesan with fettuccine Alfredo and Rigatoni with Suga sauce. Plus we had a Caesar salad This is a great Italian Restaurant with a great atmosphere!

Overall was an amazing experience! 10/10 of the atmosphere. Live piano music in the background was a beautiful touch. The garlic oil was worth the extra charge so definitely recommend that or the chicken Parmesan.

This was such a pleasant surprise! The food is excellent, the atmosphere is warming and welcoming. The drinks are well worth the money and the service is outstanding. Our server Sara was very knowledgeable and made us feel at home on our anniversary. They also have a great patio. We will definitely be coming back in the near future.

First time here. Great decor, and ambience. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Emma was an amazing server!! She checked on us throughout the meal. Started out with a Caesar salad that we shared, and it was amazing! One was definitely enough for two people to share and we didn’t eat it all. The Caesar dressing was fresh and homemade My wife had the chicken Parmesan with vodka sauce with Angel hair pasta and Alfredo sauce. I had the chicken Spiedini with rigatoni and vodka sauce. Both were very good. We had a bottle of Rufino Pinot Grigio which was good. Great experience and great time. We will definitely be back. Won’t let me do another review, but this place is amazing. The Friday special is the Porchetta. Pork belly, Aramide stuffed with herbs and Italian sausage. It is absolutely amazing. Sorry we already had a few bites before I took the picture. Couldn’t wait. And Sarah gets her own paragraph. She’s waited on us twice and is just a joy, very attentive and friendly.

Tried a new restaurant in Lee’s Summit called Vetta. Located in downtown Lees Summit. Parking was hard to find but we were able to park within a block of the restaurant. Entrée’s are very pricy and sides are al a carte and very expensive. Bread served before dinner but it tasted and looked like Wonder bread not authentic Italian bread. I ordered lemon chicken piccata ($18) which was not what I expected but wasn’t too bad. The lemon flavor was a bit overwhelming but the chicken was good. Had a Caesar side salad ($10) and not other sides. My wife ordered tortellini alla panna with shrimp ($19) plus an extra ($10) for five shrimp. The Alfredo sauce did not taste authentic or fresh made, in fact it tasted like Ragu Alfredo sauce. It was a bit disappointing given the cost. And our guest ordered fettuccini Alfredo with shrimp ($18 + additional $10 for five shrimp. She was happy with her meal but disappointed given the cost. Overall, I think the meals are very overpriced, meals for three was $87, before tip and I didn’t even finish mine, and we all just had water to drink. Probably won’t be back. On the good side, atmosphere and service was 5 star.

My husband and I had the Bruschetta and I thought it had too much garlic, but he loved it. I had the Lemon Ricotta Chicken and it was to die for! He had the Vodka Rigatoni and he had to make himself stop eating it was so good. We ended the night with the Tiramisu and it was just as delicious as dinner. I had the Amalfi Mule and he had the Vetta Italian Pilsner and said it was delicious also. Our waitress Sara was helpful and very friendly. We will absolutely be back!!

I stopped in because I really wanted some tiramisu, and I had some bruschetta first. The place was beautiful, the food very tasty, and Dalton did a perfect job making sure I had everything I wanted. I'll definitely be coming back! I asked the staff if they could seat me in a quieter part because I'm hearing-impaired, and they immediately obliged. Thank you!

This pop up bar was so elegant looking! Everyone knows I love me a good Christmas pop up bar, so this was right up my alley! Me & my fiancée stopped here for our anniversary (we had reservations) & they took care of us!!! Our waiter was amazing, the bartender gave us a free anniversary shot, the drinks were fantastic & don't get me started on the food! Everyone & everything was great! I will be back! Bonus: they gave us scratch off tickets for our next visit! You can only scratch it off in front of them, so I'm excited to see what I win!

Vetta is undeniably beautiful inside. The design is warm, stylish, and feels like the kind of place you want to linger. The service matched the ambiance. Everyone we interacted with was friendly, attentive, and genuinely trying to make the experience great. Unfortunately, the food just didn't live up to the setting. The bread arrived looking and tasting like floppy, wonder-bread-style slices, which immediately set the tone. It felt like very little effort was put into something that should be simple but memorable at an Italian restaurant. The dishes that followed were presented nicely but lacked depth and authentic Italian flavor. Nothing was awful, but everything was underwhelming -- more "fine" than enjoyable, and certainly not what you'd hope for given the atmosphere. My husband and I truly wanted to love this place because the space and the staff are wonderful, but the food needs improvement to match the rest of the experience. I hope they make some adjustments, because the potential is absolutely there.

Wasn't expecting much given some of the reviews, but we were very pleasantly surprised with the service and food. We had fried ravioli, Mostaccioli and cannelloni, all of which were very good. Portion size was generous and the food was served promptly and hot. Our server was attentive and offered solid recommendations. Overall, it was much better than expected - and better than the other Italian restaurant in downtown Lees Summit - so we'll be back soon.

My wife and I went here around Christmas time after randomly driving by it one day. It was great! The atmosphere was perfect, all decorated for the Christmas season. We got the fried gnocchi as an appetizer which was so good. It was a little heavy on the oil. I got a chicken and rigatoni dish, delicious, I would definitely get it again. My wife got shrimp scampi. It was a little underwhelming but not bad. Great little restaurant in downtown LS, we'll be back.

Made reservations for 3 at 4PM. We were greeted quickly, seated in our favorite, a booth in view of bar. The decor was themed "White". All about Christmas, winter, snow, Angels etc. was really decked out bright and cheerfully. We had for drinks Peppermint martini (outstanding) even came with its own peppermint stick spoon and a Rose. We casually remarked that the rose was a bit dry and the bartender came over with a sample of someone a little less dry. After we expressed interest he exchanged them at no charge. Very thoughtful. Our waitress, Rachel, was terrific. Took plenty of time with us, explained everything and was on top of service. Extremely personable. For foods, after discussion w Rachel, we ordered Fried Spadienini w Amogio chicken, vodka pasta. Also the Tortellini Alla Panna. All dishes were terrific. Shared what we could and boxed the rest for tomorrow's dinner!!

Delicious food! Cozy atmosphere- the holiday lights are spectacular!! G was so great! We would definitely come back!

Came here for the holiday pop up - very cute. Food was decent 6/10 pasta was overcooked imo. Shrimp was good. Eggplant parm was an 8. Gluten free pasta was 6/10. Gluten free options are very limited. Water glasses are so small it was laughable. Salads were good. Service was decent- it was very busy though.

I'd like to start off by saying the decor they did for winder was so beautiful. They had live pianist playing in the back which was such an amazing touch. The food was really good especially the chicken. It was so crispy and perfectly seasoned. The vodka pasta was so good highly recommend. Our server was amazing also she didn't both us too much and was very attentive!

Vibe is 10/10. Went during the winter pop-up and it was magical inside. Beautifully decorated, excellent ambiance. Live piano music filled the air, but as delicate background noise, was not overpowering of conversation. Service was fine, nothing terrible, nothing outstanding. Drinks took a while to get to the table, longer than expected. Food was 7/10. It is better than the other Italian eatery in town, but it's not anything outstanding. And whatever they say on the menu, NO, the corn with the lasagna dos NOT work, and the 1/4c scoop of canned corn I got plopped on the top of my lasagna for $2 was most definitely not worth it.

Weeknight delight. Weather is perfect right now to sit on the patio. I tried the Ravioli Sausage and Cheese. Bread seems like it comes from Roma bakery is served with butter(I prefer oil and seasoning myself). I ordered a chicken dish with lemon flavored pasta. It was ahmazing. Servers are knowledgeable about wine choices and entrees.

All of the food was way too salty and the service was poor. One of the things we ordered was cannelloni but we were give manicotti. When I brought it to the server's attention, she argued that it was cannelloni and to cut further into the middle to find the meat. Nope, still no meat, just cheese. Finally after much discussion and showing her there was no meat all the way through, exasperatedly she asked, "Do you meet me to have them remake it?" After that, someone else brought out the replacement and we never saw her again except when she brought out the bill. I love Italian and was really hoping to have a great Italian restaurant in Lee's Summit, but this was very disappointing!

Stunning dining area with amazing food. Espresso martinis light or dark - both delish! Perfect spot for date night or GNO. Amazing service and fresh dishes. Can't wait to go back!

Hit up this Italian place in downtown Lee's Summit and was presently surprised! The place is cute and has a sexy vibe to it and the bar area is beautiful! The fact you can choose if you want your espresso martini creamy or not it amazing! The friend gnocchi will always be a yes and never had lasagna dip! My rigatoni alla Vodka was amazing! Good spot to get together with friends or a date night!

Positives--Pop Up Bar theme was by far the best I've been to this season hands down. Were seated on time per reservation. Negatives--Service, eek. Needs training and maybe make sure you have ample staff, our server visited our table 3 times in 90 minutes (no tip for the first time in my life). Initial drink order, food order, and bringing our check. I had to got to the bar to get another drink. Never came by to see if we needed anything else or check on food order. Lastly, take the fettucine off the menu, it was noodles, water sauce and a little sauce. Most horrific fettucine I've ever had (this is my go to at all Italian restauraunts). Won't be back, save yourself a trip.

The decor is great. Food is average to good. We had eggplant Parmesan, spaghetti and meatballs and chicken Alfredo. If I was just eating it on food and decor the place would be a solid 4.5 stars but service is SLOW. Won't be back

Restaurant change from a Mexican cuisine to Italian. Inside deco remain the same. It is one of the prettiest restaurant in Lees Summit. Food was okay. We are not completely in love with this new restaurant concept. Might have to try them again some other time. Staff was attentive being that they just open up last Wednesday. Casual upscale atmosphere.

Pretty place with great food and service. Went with a group of 6. If you ever went to the Mexican restaurant in this space before it hasn't changed much inside, still has the beautiful bar and pretty chandeliers. We all really enjoyed our food. The menu is different from the pictures shown on Yelp btw if you like to plan ahead like me. We started with a seasonal bruschetta, which had a cream cheese spread and peaches. Wonderfully different from the norm. We also enjoyed bread and olive oil, which was full of yummy garlic. My husband and I both got a caesar salad and shared the sea bass on a delicious bed of peppers and onions with a drizzle of balsamic sauce. It was absolutely scrumptious and plenty for us. Others in the group had salmon and chicken piccata, both served with pasta, and all enjoyed. They also have a great variety of cocktail and mocktail choices. I had the Spritz mocktail and it was really good. You may want to plan for dinner to take some time. Not sure if it was because of the size of our party or not. We got there for an early dinner at 4:45 on a Saturday night, hardly anyone in the place, and didn't leave until 6:45 and the place was packed. Authentically Italian I suppose ;).

Very nice decor and very pleasant servers. Food not great. Spiedini was dry and lacked flavor and sea bass was fried and lacked flavor. Nice choice of wines.

Same owners as the previous overpriced Mexican restaurant that was here, but this just feels right! The inside always looked like it should be Italian anyways. The food was great, but I'm not Italian and think Olive Garden is great too. (The Italian people I was there with confirmed it was good though). Tried the chicken parm and I would definitely get it again.

New place in downtown Lee Summit getting on a nice roll friendly staff super good bartender. Only one visit so far need to go back again before we can give a full-fledged review.

Came here for our Father's Day celebration, and had a terrific meal. Our server G took great care of us! When asked if you want the vodka sauce, the answer is YES! It is outstanding! We will be back!

Overall the food was just okay, but maybe they are still working out the issues. I had the Capelli D'angelo with spiedini and the tiramisu. The Capelli D'angelou was super watery and flavorless. The spiedini, was nothing more than a piece of chicken with breading and tasted very plain. Overall the dish was a bust. The tiramisu was nothing great either, one layer of ladyfingers was dipped in coffee but the second layer wasn't throwing the whole thing off. It tasted mostly like whipped cream. It's a rather unimpressive start but hopefully they iron things out and produce better quality food.

The ambiance of this place at Christmas was like a Hallmark movie, from the White Christmas Margarita, to delicious dishes, and don't forget the desert!! Everything thing was better than expected! The service from Cooper, was the greatest! This will be on our Christmas list of things to do every year!!

G took wonderful care of us. Our food was absolutely delicious as well as the drinks. I will definitely be back. The restaurant was well lit with a beautiful scene.

The food was really good. The Vodka Rigatoni was so good. If they offer you a side salad just be aware that the Caesar salad is huge and a dinner size salad and a side salad. With your pasta, they offer you extra garlic and Parmesan cheese. The extra garlic is in butter and olive oil was seasoning and it was really good on the bread. Our waitress was super helpful and made good suggestions. The decor is really beautiful and it's a really good atmosphere.

Beautiful,romantic setting indoors. Really nice patio seating and the Food is so good. Had of course the free fried Ravioli, cheese was perfectly crisp with lots of melty cheese. The Bottle of Angels List Pinot Noir was perfect with the Eggplant parmigiana. I am very fussy when it comes to marinara,I really like my homemade the best. But this was very tasty, not to sweet and very rich tomato flavor. The Service was great and the staff outstanding. Definitely will be going back.

I really really hate to give a bad review to a restaurant, especially one that has only been open for two weeks, but this isn't their first restaurant either & it was really bad. This was just a mess from the very beginning. We had a large party of 12 & we had a few questions before we could get started. We asked what pastas are made in house & if they used Italian flour because it is non-GMO & is easier to digest. I asked the waiter the questions & he immediately told us ALL pastas were made in house (which surprised me & my first red flag) and that they "probably" used Italian flour. I asked him if he'd go ask to make sure and he was gone for awhile, but he came back & didn't even address the question. I asked for the manager to come by, but when he walked up he had his coffee mug in hand. I thought that was a bit unprofessional, but whatever. He told us they get their pasta from Springfield & he was pretty sure it was not Italian flour, but not 100% sure. That's the kind of answer I like, just admit it if you don't know! It's OK to not know an answer especially if you are a waiter, but don't just guess! Especially when it comes to people with gluten issues. We also found out from the manager that they were out of the spedini since the night before. We never heard that from the waiter though & most of us had planned to order that. We were finally ready to order, but the waiter was two tables down trying to open a bottle of wine.... for literally 3-4 minutes just getting the foil off (I'm not exaggerating). He finally went to ask for help, but we had been there a half hour at this point and were very ready to order. We had an 18 month old with us & she was starting to get a bit fussy with only bread to eat. I asked the manager if he'd come over to take our order so we could get moving & thankfully he did. Our food finally came out & I'd say it was about a 50/50 split on who thought their food was good. I had the salmon & it was super salty. My husband had the capelli d'angelo and said it was bland. I ate his leftovers the next day & I agree! The tomatoes were either canned or not ripe, but just no flavor. My mom had the eggplant parm & said it was not great, that she'd had better & wouldn't get it again. I heard the meatballs were good & the chicken parm were good. When we were finished our waiter wasn't around so we had to ask another waiter for our ticket & to-go boxes. Our waiter came to deliver the bill and every item was rung up separately. I'm sure he was just trying to be helpful, but it just made the check out process even longer. They gave us 10% off our bills, but we have a couple of veterans at the table so we'd asked for a veteran discount & it was the same. I'm not actually sure which they gave, but it was definitely not enough as far we were concerned. So with a fussy 18 month old in tow we gave my mom some cash, told my sister-in-law to figure out the bill and ran out the door! Oh one last thing, the waiter had just started his shift & his shirt was wrinkled & dirty. I have waited tables & my sister-in-law was a restaurant manager & we both noticed. If we ever came in dirty we were sent home to change. The waiter is a representative of the restaurant & if it were mine, it would not be the image I would want represented.

Not great-overpriced and poor quality. We won't go back. Service and ambiance were great. Really no good Italian in lees summit.... I held out hope for this place

Food up and down. Service seems to be good and its a very comfortable place. First time hot food next time room temp. Third time slightly better then the second.

The hubs and I started with the lasagna dip with pasta chips and then moved on to the blackened chicken Alfredo and shrimp scampi. We finally ended up with the lemon crème cake. Everything was delicious and the service was excellent. The ambience is lovely as well.

Service was good, the food was average. The room is still attractive, one of the nicer in Lees Summit.

Debated writing this but felt like I had to share my experience. We came in with a large group for dinner on a Sunday night and genuinely had a great time--good food, great service, and a bit of nostalgia too. Some of us had celebrated my engagement at the previous restaurant in that space, so coming back years later felt kind of sweet. We also had just come from next door (Smoke Brewery which is owned by the same owner) and had a great time there as well. Unfortunately, any goodwill was completely undone by the owner's behavior as we were leaving. One of our guests took a handful of mints from the bowl near the door (yes, probably a little excessive--but not criminal), and the owner made a sarcastic remark and then as our group is outside, the owner shook the mint bowl at us through the window. If that sounds like an overreaction, it gets better. When a few members of our group politely went back in to ask what the issue was, the owner accused one of us of being a "thief" and said the problem wasn't the mints, but "his attitude"--despite there being zero issues at our table all night. No comments from the server, no complaints from other patrons. In fact, a staff member later ran into us and said our group was lovely and caused no disruption at all. What followed was even more disappointing: a member of our party posted a personal review sharing her experience, and instead of addressing it professionally, the owner responded from his personal social media account--posting false claims (like that we had to be escorted out, which simply never happened) and even targeting people in our group who are business owners, saying things like "if you own what you say." Not sure if that was supposed to be clever, but it just came off immature and defensive. The most ridiculous part? He accused our group of using misogynistic slurs--which, again, absolutely did not happen. If there had been any issues, surely someone would've said something at the time. But there was nothing--until a few mints apparently sent this man into a spiral. Which, if you own your own business, thick skin is a necessity at times. No accountability has been taken, and the way things escalated makes it hard not to feel like this was weirdly personal. Which is sad, because we genuinely enjoyed the food and service, and were excited to return. Several of us work in or own businesses ourselves--we understand how tough the industry is, and we aren't malicious people. But this level of unprofessionalism, lack of integrity, and public pettiness? Not something we're interested in supporting.

It's a no from us Terrible service we were never greeted at the door. We sat for quite a while without being greeted by our server or any water. Drinks took forever, once we got our food it tasted terrible ! The shrimp scampi had no flavor and the sauce on the tortellini was so thick and tasted like it came from a jar. We each had one bite and sent it back.

Much better than the previous Mexican restaurant . I got the spaghetti and meatballs and I will say it's not the best Italian I've ever had, but it was delicious. The portion size was great for the price. I did not try any of the cocktails. The atmosphere is great and so are the staff. We sat at the bar and had awesome service, shout out to Casey and Mike!

Food was decent enough and the portions were big. The service was terrible. I ordered lasagna and she said, "with meat sauce?" I said yes and learned when I got the bill that it was an extra $4.00. If you want good Italian in Lees Summit, go to Bella's. They have great food and great service.

We had a large group of 10, celebrating a birthday. Our waiter G was fantastic. Food was great. Drinks were great! We will be back!

absolutely amazing food! love having a nice italian place in LS. ambience was very romantic and classy, perfect for a date night. everything we tried was wonderful. bruschetta, toasted ravioli, carbonara, ribeye, chicken spiedini and tiramisu. wonderful dinner, will be back often!

I have been to Vetta several times now, and each time, the food and service have always been outstanding (especially the short rib!) We love to come and eat on the patio with our pup, and it's always a wonderful experience. But, last Saturday night, they went over and above. I showed up there with a buddy at 8:55pm, and discovered that they close at 9pm on Saturdays. We went in and asked if there was any way they could serve us, and without hesitation, they said YES! We sat at the bar, had dinner and drinks, and the bartender told us to "just take your time". Never rushed us, and it really let me know just what kind of great and gracious people work there! Just really made an impression.

It's a shame when the toasted ravioli is the best thing on the menu. It's frozen and thrown in a pan of grease. Food is overpriced and underwhelming. Beautiful restaurant but without a great chef it just is waste. There are plenty of fantastic chefs if the owner would just invest in the food and help. Come on Lee's Summit; you can do better.

There's potential but there's way more room for improvement. I went here on a double date a couple weeks ago with a Saturday 5 PM reservation. There was no one at the host stand so we stood around feeling awkward for a few minutes. When our waitress arrived and asked if we were interested in drinks or apps, I asked what apps she would recommend, and it was clear that she hadn't tried any of them and couldn't make an informed recommendation. We got the deep-fried gnocchi, which was really tasty, but would've benefited from a dipping sauce. We also ordered the Sicilian olive oil, which the waitress apparently forgot about because it never arrived and she just seemed surprised when we said we didn't want it anymore. I ordered the Chicken Spiedini which I was excited to try. A short while later, the waitress came back out and said they were out of the spiedini so I opted for the Fettuccine Alfredo. The sauce was a bit bland and the noodles were overcooked so there was no point in taking the leftovers home. A couple of our party ordered the short rib and polenta, and it was absolutely delicious. The manager stopped by at some point, but didn't ask for any feedback about the food or service so I kept my mouth shut. I'm not sure this place is worth a second chance, but if I gave it one, I'd definitely get the fried gnocchi again!

Everything about this restaurant was wonderful. The food was outstanding - the drinks were great - and the service was phenomenal. Nothing negative to say about this place or our experience. Our server Danny a/k/a hottie mchotterton was incredible - attentive, knowledgeable, fun and just all around perfect. He really made our girls night one of the best ever. Plan on making this a regular spot for happy hour and/or dinner.

A friend brought me here. I ordered the eggplant Parmesan and the eggplant was so tough I couldn't even cut it with my knife. My friend tried to cut it, same thing. I told the waiter. He took it back to the kitchen to show the chef. No word back. So I had an eggplant Parmesan with no eggplant. When the bill came we were charged full price. I boxed it up and sent it home with my friend who thought someone in their house might eat it. Very disappointed. Will never return.

First of all the appetizer was delicious. We had the fried 4 cheese raviloi so started great. I had spaghetti and meatballs. The portion was large, had 3 good sized meatballs. The sauce was very spicy, too spicy for me. I like mine a little more mild. The meatballs were terrible. Way too salty (main complaint) and dry. They were unedible. My daughter had shrimp scampi which she said could have been better if it had more sauce. It was served with angel hair pasta and she said there was not enough sauce to even cover the pasta. The shrimp were good and there were plenty but she did not like that the tail was still on the shrimp. The bread is nothing more that a few slices of store bought Italian sandwich loaf. Plain, no butter, no garlic. Yuck. They really need to update that!!! Our server was very good and prompt. Probably won't go back. Bella's is much better

Not good at all ! Wife had the Alfredo..When server checked back after 1/2 eaten and asked how it was she said I think they forgot the Parmesan in the sauce..He said I think so too..Would you like some? I had the Tortellini Alla Panna...Overly thick sauce . All stuck together like glue. Also at 3:30 in the afternoon they were out of Spiedini . Was asked if we had a reservation when we entered..There were only 3 other customers and all seated in booths in bar area. LOl. Will not recommend or go back.
