"Walking into Via Delizia, the first thing that greets diners is a looming faux olive tree and walls depicting a rambling street in Italy. Via Delizia started as a cafe focused on gelato and pastries, and later expanded to a full restaurant serving fresh pastas and salads. In the mornings, locals flock to the trattoria for Italian-style espressos and the black pearl Benedict with apple balsamic creme sauce. And it’s impossible to leave without at least one scoop of the restaurant’s gelato, which has held the neighborhood’s attention for more than 15 years." - Maya MacEvoy, Thom Hilton

What a hidden gem. Ate here about a year ago and kept meaning to come back. The food quality for the price point is crazy. The pasta b was so fresh and creamy. The ice cream was the same. Service matched. So hard to find good service let alone great.

Unique vegetarian Eggs Benedict with balsamic cheese sauce- perfect poached eggs, moist potatoes. (I didn't realize they also offered a full breakfast, dinner, and drinks menu; their signage on the building makes it seem like it's Gelato and coffee drinks only.) Thank you, Staff, for a great visit!

Love coming here for breakfast..I always get the benedicts but my partner gets the powdered toast thing. I don't remember what it's called. But the servers here are always lovely, the food is delicious, and it's a nice calm place to sit and have a Delicious breakfast. One of my fav "hidden" gems in the Pearl.

Quick service and attentive staff, food was very good. I recommend Penne Diovolo and the Italian melt can't go wrong with either one. Original Italian flavor 😋 👌 🤌

We visited this place to have lunch. Pretty cute place. We all ordered pasta specially I love pasta a lot. (one of us ordered pasta without noodle) Service was fine but quite slow. However, it's worth it. Their food was so good. For a long time, it is not easy to find a good pasta place and this place is amazing. If I live nearby, I definitely come here often.(I tried during my trip)

We’ve been here quite a few times and there is a reason we keep coming back. The atmosphere is pleasant and the interior is very beautiful with a large faux olive tree. Service by Tanya was outstanding! With their seasonal ingredients, we had the lamb, salmon and bolognese for dinner. Everything tasted very fresh and we had to ask for sharing plates. Definitely would recommend stopping by if you are in the Portland Pearl district.

Found this place just looking around for a good Italian restaurant and found the best? Dinner was amazing, perfect portions and full of flavor, perfectly salted. Service was great as well! Very friendly and helpful staff! The gelato was the cherry on top. Made in house from cream they pasteurized in house. Super creamy and delightfully sweet. The atmosphere was also just perfect the music was the right volume and tone and the decor feels homey and warm Will be returning!

Came here for lunch at noon on a wednesday, was pleasantly greeted with a cute little restaurant and peaceful ambience. We ordered first the bruschetta, which was fantastic and good sized. For the mains, I ordered a spaghetti bolognese, in addition to spaghetti with meatballs and a tuscan sandwich with a caesar salad. I was a bit disappointed with my bolognese, it was a bit too sweet and creamy for my liking and i was unable to finish it. The spaghetti with meatballs seemed good when i tried it, though. The sandwich with the caesar was alright, but the salad overwhelmingly too fishy and anchovy-y and i could barely eat it. After finishing, my partner got a scoop of the gelato, but was disappointed to see a hair in it halfway through. Combined with some slightly dirty plates and utensils we got when we first arrived, I can’t ignore possible concerns over cleanliness issues. overall, the food was pretty hit or miss; the service was great, but some little things here and there contributed to a mixed experience.
