23 Affordable Restaurants in Las Vegas for a Cheap Meal

"Most of Via Focaccia’s sandwiches hover around $13 or less, which is a steal considering they’re made with house-baked focaccia and stacked with high-quality Italian meats. You’ll pay a little more for expensive ingredients like prosciutto; the fan-favorite sandwich is the brisket pastrami, which has imported caramelized onion, fontina cheese, and creamy béchamel sauce and only costs $14." - Janna Karel

Every restaurant and bar that opened in Las Vegas: 2021 edition | Eater Vegas

"I tried sandwiches from Sicilian chef Ismaele Romano’s new shop on the Ellis Island casino floor, where a seven-sandwich menu includes a soppressata, cheese, arugula and sweet pepper spread sandwich and another with fresh mozzarella, roasted eggplant, tomato, and pesto aioli; the shop also offers antipasto salads, arancini, and rosemary-flecked garlicky potatoes." - Eater Staff

Ellis Island’s New Sandwich Shop Is an Ode to Its Italian Chef’s Upbringing | Eater Vegas

"An Italian sandwich shop opened Oct. 20 by Sicilian chef Ismaele Romano, the 2021 World Sandwich Champion at the International Pizza Expo. The compact counter features a seven-sandwich menu built on light, airy focaccia produced using a poolish preferment fermented 16–18 hours to conserve space and create an exceptionally delicate crumb. Highlights include a soppressata sandwich with cheese, arugula and a sweet pepper spread; a sandwich with fresh mozzarella, roasted eggplant, tomato and pesto aioli; and a sentimental “mamma’s chicken” with fried chicken cutlet, eggplant, Fontina, arugula, tomatoes and lemon‑garlic aioli. The shop also offers antipasto salads, arancini and garlicky rosemary‑flecked potatoes. Space limits keep Romano’s award-winning porchetta-and-eggplant creation (layered with kale and dandelion‑infused focaccia) off the regular menu, though occasional specials will rotate in. Open daily 9 a.m.–10 p.m." - Valerie Silva

"A Sicilian-inspired sandwich shop from chef Ismaele Romano, recently crowned World Sandwich Champion for a porchetta and eggplant sandwich served on kale- and dandelion-infused focaccia. The menu will showcase homemade Sicilian recipes made with traditional preparations and Italian ingredients from the chef's upbringing, with the concept slated to open on the casino floor sometime in September." - Bradley Martin

Google
I ordered the classica and at first was taken back when it came in the small box. I open it up and the amount of meat they crammed on to it was amazing. High quality cuts too. Bread was nice and warm. 10/10

Google
Yummy breakfast options. A little slow at completing orders but I enjoyed the bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich so much I'd go back in an instant. The croissant breakfast options are also delicious.

Stopped by here whilst visiting Metro Pizza (6 steps away), the young guy serving was very friendly and chatty, said hi everytime we stopped by Ellis Island, didn't try a sammich but they looked amazing. Got myself a sweet treat, a peacan sticky bun. Was as good as it looked. Ran me about $6/7 I think, very good price compared to Strip establishments. Good selection all around.

Google
Had the Classico. Excellent. Olive spread was a surprise. It's fantastic. Didn't need additional sauce. Serving size seemed small, but was a perfect amount. Filling without being heavy. Bread is crisp on the outside without being hard.

Google
Nice coffee and sandwiches but it’s in a casino so not really a quiet place to sit. I couldn’t find the seats + tables we saw on the picture…? It’s just a counter with 2 tables in front.

Google
The best hidden gem in Las Vegas. Every time I try a new sandwich it's one of the best I've ever had in my life.

David Rokhinson

Google
Great morning breakfast stop! The sandwiches are top tier and they make a notably good espresso. I highly recommend grabbing a warm croissant and sampling one of the donuts if you're in a pastry mood

Google
Wow, I got a classica and it came in a pickle box. And took 25 minutes for the sandwich. Walk somewhere else, you’ll eat quicker.

Yelp
I've been meaning to try this place since it opened. The chef won a sandwich competition at the International Pizza Expo. I had the Parma sandwich. It was amazing! Fresh focaccia bread, with a large and tasty portion of Prosciutto, balanced well with fresh mozzarella cheese, arugula, shaved parmesan, and balsamic glaze. I am sad that my sandwich is already in my belly and there is no more here to eat. I am also sad that I waited this long to try this place. I will never get back all that lost time. All I can say is if you like food with a lot of flavor, you need to try Via Focaccia.

Yelp
Damn. This sandwich is legit! I've been to Florence and Genoa and had the pleasure of trying the original focaccia sammy in Italy. I gotta say it was really tasty and followed the traditional ingredients used in Italy. Don't start too far from the classic though, some of the ingredients are more American than what you would find in Italy. The price is a bit more than I wills like, but it's understandable why you realise they use authentic Italian ingredients that may be hard to find. It's a strange location for an authentic focaccia sandwich, but it's worth the trip if you're a local. Support this business so they can expand and open in the burbs. You will not be dissatisfied.

Yelp
I loved the Beef Brisket Pastrami. I thought it was better than the New Yorker roast beef Sandwhich from All'Antico Vinaio. I!did not like the Classica sandwich the Olive Tepenade was way over powering I can barely taste the Mortadella. My guess is that they wanted to create something like a Muffaletta but fell short. The fresh bread though was very good !!!! I'll stop by next time I'm in the area and try a different sandwich with a repeat of the Beef Brisket Pastrami.

Yelp
Via Focaccia is a small food stand located in the Ellis Island Casino (near the strip) but it isn't ordinary. This small food stand offers artisanal special focaccia sandwiches by an award wining world sandwich champion. OMGosh these sandwiches truly are amazing! Not all but most of the sandwiches are on the Italian side and a few are vegetarian. My husband tried the Classica (ham, mortadella, capicola, provolone, olive spread). The meats were all high quality. It was delicious and the fresh baked bread was like no other. Here the pastrami sandwich has been reinvented. It's like no other anywhere and is amazing! The flavors all go together incredibly well. And the light airy crispy special focaccia must be tasted to be believed. Life changing sandwiches from a little casual stand in the Ellis Island Casino.

Yelp
Spot is located right inside the Ellis Island casino on the right when you enter. It's a counter style establishment. Highly recommend the Brisket Pastrami for $13. The bread and meat was so good. There isn't anywhere to sit unless you eat at a slot machine.
google avatar

Angelia G.

Yelp
Ordered the Parma sandwich and it did not disappoint! The prosciutto is fresh and tasty & the bread is the perfect amount of crispy and fluffy.
google avatar

David M.

Yelp
A little gem of a food kiosk. Tasty offerings with an Italian bent. Service is well above standard. It's inside the Ellis island casino. Mostly a grab and go setup. Would certainly seek this out again if in the area.

Yelp
Hidden GEM! Via Focaccia may have actually been my best find on my most recent Vegas trip. I had breakfast inside the Village Pub at Ellis Island and when walking around saw the shop. I definitely had to grab a to-go order to enjoy later. Via Focaccia is a stand and serves various breakfast pastries and awesome focaccia sandwiches. Parma sandwich was delicious. Fresh baked bread, sliced to order proscuitto, fresh mozz, and topped with arugala and a balsamic glaze. Very simple but put together REALLY well. My Americano also hit the spot too! Will definitely be back to try out more of them. One sandwich is filling but maybe I'll grab two next time since there were so good. Final Piece of Donovan Advice? From the Cromwell, it was about 10 minute walk from the Strip, go past the Tupac Memorial and make a right and you'll see Ellis Island!

Yelp
I love this place. It's only minus 1 star because depending on when you go, the bread may be a little dried out. Otherwise, this place is stellar almost every time. If you get bored of the other offerings at Ellis Island, check this place out. BTW, they won a world sandwich championship.
google avatar

Dustin B.

Yelp
Skip the breakfast sandwiches which have fake scrambled egg patties and gluey cheese and instead order something that made them popular like the lunch sandwiches with Italian meats. The bread is so good! Oh the coffee tasted old to me so I would skip that and get something from the bar. Cheers!
google avatar

Kenny D.

Yelp
I'm giving this a one star because the sticky bun I got at 6:50pm was/is dry and horrible I wouldn't serve this to customers..!!! I wish I tried it before I was on the road, I would've gone back and asked for a refund..!!

Yelp
We spent a whole bunch of time at Ellis Island during our stay in Vegas and I can attribute it to their excellent staff, the variety of game play, and these amazing sandwiches! Someone said they're the world's best and I buy it. The brisket pastrami and prosciutto are both incredible and an amazing value. So much bang for your buck right off the strip!
google avatar

Yelp
We had the coupon from staying at the Ellis hotel that gave us a free coffee and free donut. -Coffee was terrible. Gave it a 1 just because it was free. Got thrown out almost immediately after trying it. 1/5 -Nutella donut. Delicious. Wish they were bigger. They're more like a bigger donut hole than a donut. 4.5/5 Would come back for a donut if we were in the area.

Yelp
While waiting for our table we decided to have dessert first. This bun warmed up comes out delicious.

Yelp
Located inside Ellis Island Casino - I wanted to pick up sandwiches to go since we were heading to Valley of Fire state park* after breakfast (Got the steak and eggs special at the Village Pub). We picked up a Genovese ($10) and Parma ($12). The Genovese was vegetarian - roasted mushrooms with pesto aioli. I wouldn't get this one again - it was kinda bland. The Parma was a lot better (prosciutto). I did enjoy the heaping serving of burrata in both sandwiches. The bread could probably be toasted longer. I think they were a little understaffed - it seemed like only 1 person was manning the whole operations. We also got a Latte - the coffee was terrible in a sense where we could not taste any coffee at all. All we tasted was milk. Parking: free and easy - parking structure towards the back of the casino *Side note: Focaccia bread is not good sandwich bread material for hiking food - super greasy and not structurally sound for delayed eating

Yelp
I was very excited to try this place so I made it a a point to try it in my short trip but I was unfortunately disappointed. I might have picked the wrong sandwich as I wanted my cheese to be melty, but really it just tasted like prosciutto and bread. The prosciutto was freshly sliced which I can appreciate, but I could hardly taste the cheese even though there was a good amount and was barely getting the balsamic. I wish I would have tried the pastrami but my rating is based solely on the Parma. I've sadly made sandwiches at home that I have enjoyed more. Also, not their fault, but since it's in the casino, it smelled like smoke and I had to eat it outside on a park bench.

Yelp
Great value, especially for being located within a casino. We got a salad and the weekly special sandwich, which was about $13 and a good portion size. The sandwich was made in fresh bread with freshly sliced meat. I do wish there was a dedicated seating area, especially one that could be further from cigarette smoke.

Mike P.

Yelp
Very good sandwich. A bit pricy but to be expected inside a casino, and in the area near the convention center. Very good sandwich made fresh on excellent focaccia bread! Will definitely be making another trip.

Yelp
I ordered from this place on a whim one day for lunch as I was in the area. I was hesitant to order food from a casino lol but I could tell from the online reviews and pictures that the food was high quality and I was not wrong. My mushroom and mozzarella sandwich was fresh and delicious and not too heavy. They have good cold brew too.

Yelp
I stopped by this little place to get some sweets before leaving Ellis Island after brunch. I ordered 3 lemon donuts, 3 tiramisu donuts, and a chocolate croissant. The donuts are more akin to big donut holes than actual donuts. The lemon donuts were tasty with a balance of tart lemon filling and sweetness from the exterior powered sugar. The chocolate croissant was one of the best chocolate croissants that I have ever had. I didn't care for the tiramisu donut, but I'm not a big tiramisu fan (so it is likely my personal preference). The items I purchased would have scored a higher star review if not for my customer service experience when purchasing them. I was told I could only purchase two lemon donuts because of a promotion they were running. I was taken aback by the person helping me being unwilling to sell me unsold product in front of me due to the potential of a later customer wanting a promotion. This is not okay. If someone doesn't want my money for their products, I'll take my business somewhere else. This is what I will likely do in the future. I was asked if I was staying at the hotel which may have been a factor in whether or not she would let me purchase donuts, which again is unusual. As a local, I was disappointed by this customer experience. The pastries I had were tasty and I would have sought them out in the future if I had been treated better.

Brandon C.

Yelp
The sandwich ingredients were very fresh and fairly priced coming in at $13 each. They sliced the prosciutto right there in front of you while the other meat is pre-packaged. The olive spread on my Classica was delicious. Ellis Island is a much older spot so it was nice seeing a spot like this in their!
google avatar

Jenny L.

Yelp
ordered the parma and they do not skimp out on the prosciutto! the mix of arugula, prosciutto, burrata, and the sauce is amazing! the bread is also not too thin nor thick. and crispy and soft at the same time. it's an amazing deal for the price ($12). would get again!
google avatar

Beatriz F.

Yelp
Went here to grab a quick bite before getting seated at the restaurant. I got two donuts, pumpkin and tiramisu. It was okay.
google avatar

Anne H.

Yelp
I had a tasty sandwich for $10, a bargain in Vegas. I took it to the bar so I could play video blackjack and enjoy a free house beer. The bread is great, the sandwich was a bit sloppily put together but I don't hesitate to recommend it. I had an Italian combo, but there are more interesting ones.

Aurora B.

Yelp
For sure one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. Super glad I stumbled across this place and as a local I'll definitely be back. The service was also great
google avatar

Joel L.

Yelp
The last thing I thought I would be doing today is writing a review on Via Focaccia but I am compelled to give credit where credit is due. I got the Genovese minus arugula and added fontina and provolone cheese. I didn't see it coming, I was stunned when I was blown away. It was absolutely spectacular! The girl working there (Friday evening) was great as well. I still really miss Julio's (tip my 40) but will be a regular here for sure.
google avatar

Dennis D.

Yelp
Small place but big on flavor. Discovered a gem for Italian focaccia sandwiches. We'll be back for more to try. Top notch chef quality, Highly recommended for deliciousness
google avatar

Ken F.

Yelp
Absurdly good sandwiches. New favorite sandwich place in Vegas. We ordered a Parma and their daily special (Chicken pizzaiola?). My wife and I ate half of each, and each bite was so good on each! High quality ingredients and sandwich construction. In hindsight, I wish I took pictures. Don't let the Ellis Island location turn you off, it's so worth it. We also ordered donuts, and they were pretty good. We'll definitely be back!
google avatar

Yelp
Huge fan of authentic Italian sandwiches. The exec chef here loves his job and his infatuation with real focaccia is heart warming. Great find in a fun casino that has a throwback vibe and awesome table games. Don't sleep on Ellis Island Casino!
google avatar

Debby W.

Yelp
Hey Vegas Peeps! If you are looking to get authentic Italian sandwiches...look no further! It's right here in Vegas. If casinos aren't your thing.. use Uber eats. Don't miss out!

Yelp
The ham and cheese croissant is delicious!!! Staff is super friendly! We were so happy we ended up going back almost every morning of our stay.

John A.

Yelp
Authentic Italian sandwiches, imported ingredients, created by a Sicilian chef on fresh baked focaccia. That says it all
