Great place to dine! We went with family to celebrate 2 birthdays & an anniversary. The food was amazing with excellent service. Definitely a Southwestern feel & lovely setting. The co-owner of the restaurant stopped and introduced himself and even told us about the history of the restaurant. The ambience & atmosphere was fantastic & they even provided a free photo of us to take home. We really enjoyed ourselves & highly recommend. What a pleasant dining experience. We will definitely return.

We were stuck in dalls due a missed flight and decided to celebrate our wedding anniversary here last night and it did not disappoint. Our server Andrea was amazing and really made us feel special, with her conversations, recommendations and the personalized photo and dessert. All the staff was great and so was the ambiance. Thank you!

Google
I had the pleasure of a business diner at via real. Our host for the evening recommended an off menu item - the sea bass. The plate was fantastic, the potatoes in the pineapple was novel and brought sweetness to the dish. The fish was perfectly cooked and delicious. Will be my go to next time for certain.

Google
The perfect spot to celebrate our 10 year anniversary! The service is simply stellar. It is personable and attentive while not being overbearing. The food is delicious. My husband swears by the steak flame broiled at the table and my shrimp and scallops were refreshing and perfect! I will proclaim that this is the best hidden gem in all of Las Colinas!!!

I've never had a bad experience here. The food is good and the servers are impeccable. Always very kind and accommodating. Nice ambiance for a good meal.

I cannot say enough about Via Real and their staff! I could brag all day about how amazing this place is! Their catering manager, Lena, was so amazing. She paid attention to every detail of my dinner and it was very important to me that things run smoothly as I was hosting a group of veterans for a reunion and memorial to my Dad. She was very empathetic and so kind. She was willing to accommodate all the needs of my group and made it so easy. I knew when she said they would be honored to host my group she meant it. And, the food!!! It's so delicious. The restaurant is beautiful and has a large private space. The dinner turned out wonderfully and everyone enjoyed it! Thank you so much, Via Real! I will always be grateful!

Google
We had a customer lunch meeting at Via Real on 07/28 and can't say enough wonderful things about the restaurant and our overall experience. All of the staff were extremely accomodating to our large party and last minute needs. All of our food came out quickly and was absolutely phenomenal. Our overall service was outstanding! Eddy was one of the best waiters I have ever had hands down. Great personality, very thorough in his explanation of the menu, and was incredibly attentive to all our asks and needs. Absolute wonderful dining experience as this establishment checks all of the boxes and is a testament to why they have been in business for 40+ years. Next time I am back in Dallas, I will certainly be back! Thank you!

Yelp
to start, I was pleasantly surprised with the amazing service here. My server was Orlando who was very attentive and helpful, but there were others that stopped by to make sure my experience was good. I ordered the special salmon and it did not disappoint. This is one of the best meals I've had in a while and was surprised to find it at a Tex-Mex restaurant. To top it off it has a great dining atmosphere of higher end restaurant. This place is classy all the way around.

Yelp
I recently had to go back to Dallas, so it's my second time dining here (the last time was almost a year prior) . We had a much larger group this time (was around 5 last time and 14 this time). It was national tequila day- whatever excuse can be used to enjoy a margarita is to be cherished and abused. I got the fajita this time as well- delicious. Their guac is also very fresh and flavorful. Their sides are hefty and the tortillas were so soft and delightful. The ambiance is super weird in that it really looks like an Italian restaurant- a bit upscale... but it's Mexican food. Mismatched decor but the food is good enough to come back if I have to.

Yelp
I have waited a long time to write this review.. Not because I didn't have anything to say, because there was no other place I could compare it to, until now.. For so long I have loved Via Real. There is no other place like it. When Sir Hubbers & I go to our Ranch in DFW, the first place I want to go and have "Hoity-toity" Mexican lunch, is Via Real. Yes, "Hoity-toity Mexican." You read that right. Via Real is a very Romantic upscale restaurant right next to the Four Seasons in Irving, Texas. They offer a one of a kind dining experience, Santa Fe style. It's very beautiful inside with a fabulous unique artistic interior & atmosphere that is very Romantic at night. The lighting in this Restaurant is nothing short of magical. The 2 level dining room, the bar set higher up, like a stage, adds a theatrical element, like your part of a well choreographed dinner play. Act one: Hand made top shelf spicy jalapeño Margaritas flow throughout the room expertly crafted, service, tippy-top Hoity-toity. Via Real is where the Hoity-toity ladies lunch, it's where big Texas size business deals are made, it's where we celebrate.. moi #1 Celebratory Restaurant in Dallas. While the stage is set, the Via Real show features the most incredible performance of all with their uniquely crafted Hoity-toity Santa Fe style menu. The menu features all kinds of yummy dishes. One of my faves is the "Santa Fe style" Grilled Salmon or Shrimp Cesar salad. Of course you can get the traditional Grilled chicken also, it's made with romaine lettuce however, theirs is served with aged parmesan cheese & garlic tortilla strips. You can substitute grilled shrimp or grilled salmon both are superb. The garlic tortilla chips make it. The perfect ladies Hoity-toity Santa Fe lunch in Dallas OuiOui :)... Sir Hubbers loves their TEXMEX beef dishes. Especially the Enchiladas Mexicanas" sautéd tips of beef tenderloin in corn tortillas topped with ancho-chili sauce, served with Spanish rice and black beans. Fabulous. Act 2: The crescendo. Their signature entrees like the RED OAK SMOKED TENDERLOIN 10 oz Beef Tenderloin, Yukon potatoes, grilled vegetables, and house demi-glaze. Superb. A must order. I prefer the CHILEAN SEA BASS MKT PRICE Pecan encrusted Sea Bass, sautéed asparagus, cilantro potatoes, and pineapple cream sauce. Superb. Winners circle all the Hoity-toity Santa Fe way. OuiOui :).. The Sea Bass enchiladas topped with lobster white wine cream sauce, served with a spinach salad is also A must order. Moi absolute favorite Via Real Special: Pepita crusted shrimp, beet infused yucon gold potatoes & fresh sautéed veggies with a seafood cream sauce. 2.DIE.4 Still, one of the best things I have ever eaten. Unmatched in taste, style & elegance. A masterpiece. Act 3: Delicious desserts made to order in-house. Their bread pudding is homemade with pineapple & chocolate chips, then, topped with Henry's Vanilla Ice Cream. A must order. OuiOui :)... The Finale: Again, no one else can compare to Via Real. It's beauty, it's Romantic Ambiance, it's uniqueness, superbly crafted drinks & unique dishes do make it superior in every way. "All the world's a stage in which we all play a part" and i'm so thrilled to be part of the celebration that is "Via Real." Added to moi new list of "Moi Top 3 Best Mexican Restaurant's in America." Also, Most Romantic Restaurants lists, best seafood, fsve steak lists, best happy hour, fave tacos lists & Moi #1 Hoity-toity celebratory restaurant in Dallas. Encore! Encore! Encore! Highest Recommendations.

Yelp
We have always loved this place. Great upscale Mexican food, impeccable service in an elegant setting...what's not to love? I had the Wednesday special of Smoked Chicken Enchiladas. It's an ample portion that makes 2 lunches for me. I loved the house salad dressing. My husband had the beef enchiladas, he made a "mmm" noise after the first bite. Service from Evilyn was upbeat and on-point.

Yelp
This was a perfect location for a group dinner. Service was on time and food meet everyone's needs.

Yelp
The food - including their chips and beans - all of it - was excellent. My Camarones a La Diabla (deviled shrimp for lack of a better name) had a spicy (not overly) JP took care of our needs more than adequately. Kudos! I will be back

Yelp
Pre-concert dinner and a return to one of our first dates 15 years ago! Our server, Rafael, was amazing! And the GM also stopped by our table. He's been there since it opened in 1985! Rafael took the time to make sure our evening was perfect, he even took our picture at the same spot we had a pic saved from the first time! The atmosphere sets the mood to make any meal feel special. Didn't get a pic of hubby's steak, but it was cooked perfectly, and my crab & shrimp enchiladas were amazing! We went all out with a bottle of Tempranillo wine and shared bread pudding (YUM) for dessert! We promised not to wait another 15 years to go back!

Yelp
Wow, I'm gonna say this place is super cool especially for a brunch on the weekend! You basically go in and all of the food that you can imagine is in this place it's kind of like a hidden secret that I just found out about after all these years of living in Las Colinas. The brunch ranges from the assortment of omelettes made right in front of you to all kinds of fruits that are freshly cut and put out along with salads of your choice! You can go back again and again and again not to mention there's some small sweets to choose from as well. If you love meat there it is it's all there from bacon sausage and more you name it's there! This is ideal for when you have guest in town and you wanna treat guest to a good time! Or a party, there's so much room in here so the guest can actually spread out and the ambience is super nice! The customer service is great. I always had a smiling team member looking at me as I made mini plates! This place is clean and super nice. You can come fancy or be casual. I definitely like to be a little bit in between so come out and enjoy this amazing buffet you will leave full and happy!

Yelp
Think twice before booking a reservation of 20. Bad communication, bad set up, not at all what I expected, didn't meet my expectations. After doing this celebration the last few years, we will now be finding a different venue. Via Real needs to find a new manager.

Yelp
Fantastic staff, great food and cute decor throughout. The staff were overwhelmingly polite and made the experience almost perfect. Everything went smooth for a working dinner with about 12 quests. I got the surf and turf sea bass and flaming filet and it's was cooked just right. Everyone raved about their meals, the one that got a lot of good feedback was the lamb chop and elf We would go back if in the area and suggest you try it out

Yelp
A beautiful and romantic place for fine dining! The ambiance is so peaceful with a variety of Tex-Mex dishes served, alongside the complimentary Nachos and salsa. Rates are affordable and the staff are super nice and friendly. Would recommend booking in advance

Yelp
I have no idea why this place gets off the charts reviews. I went to Via Real for dinner last night and the entire experience was just awful. The waiter was a robot who just wanted to upsell. The appetizer trio of crab cake, calamari, and coconut crusted shrimp was cold and soggy. It tasted like the items were pre made and sitter under a food warmer. The chicken/steak fajitas were overcooked within an inch of their lives, super salty, with weak sides, and only two freaking tortillas. My friend's seas bass was a giant piece of blob. Terrible, terrible place.

Yelp
Updated 8/10/24 Food and service have been consistently excellent over many years even when valued employees are hard to find and keep. The unexpected personal touches -- like the handwritten comment on our to-go package today -- surprised and delighted us. It overcame our disappointment that the extra salad dressing we ordered was missing. And Via Real's salad dressing is exceptionally tasty.

Yelp
This place is legit! I've been here twice and the food and services is always on point.. we started with the basket of chips and salsa which was nice. Then moved on to nachos and then the ceviche as our starters. I went with the build your own entree of a petite filet medallion with a couple scallops and vegetables which came with a nice blue cheese salad. One of my co-workers did the same entree but with a different salad the spinach. They always have Kraft cocktails for the time of the year. So this time it was Christmas themed drinks which were very delicious. They also have a wide array of Tex-Mex food, seafood, Margaritas and other assorted delicious items. This is our go-to place when we come here for our annual meeting. Give this place a try give this place a try!

Yelp
They've got valet parking & plenty of room to self park. George N. waited on our table, it was nice & all the food came freshly prepared. The dining area have great amount room & kept up very clean. The restrooms are sanitary & well supplied. George's prompt & constant service kept us well hydrated & fed. From appetizers to main entree; drinks were served & water topped off with care. Overall, I loved bc my wife & I had our sister in law from L.A. visiting on a working related visit. Great array of fresh Mexican delicacies & dishes. Seafood is fresh & cooked to perfection. I had 2 mojitos & they were perfectly prepared! We loved it & my wife & I are definitely coming back soon. Thank staff & kitchen crew! See you soon!

Yelp
Amazing. Our further son in law proposed to our daughter here. They were very accommodating and the service was great. He reserved a room large enough for 30 people. The food was fresh and the mimosas were free flowing. I've been here before but a very long time ago. It's great to see that they are still open and doing well. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
Great dining experience. Service was amazing and food was delicious. I had the sea bass special, very nicely done and the mushroom risotto was perfect. Great wine selection too.

Yelp
This is a Texas staple! The owner has owned it for many many years. I had friends take me here and they could not stop talking about how amazing the owner is and several friends say the same thing about his place. The service was outstanding and the food was amazing. Everything from the chips to the salsa were so so flavorful! They have a brunch buffet on Sundays that was highly recommended and the lunch special is what I ordered and it was absolutely delicious! The potatoes were seasoned to perfection with a reddish seasoning that was savory and the vegetables were perfectly cooked and perfectly seasoned. I wanted to go back the next day and eat again but I didn't have time on my trip to Texas. The restaurant looks like you are transported to Mexico and they have indoor and outdoor seating and great for large groups. It is a really gorgeous restaurant and can even accommodate rehearsal dinners and special events.

Yelp
I've always been curious of this spot whenever I drive by because of all cars I see at the valet. I finally went, and after being disappointed by the appetizers we asked our server for her recommendation. Luckily she was very honest and basically told us to stick with the meats on the menu. We ended up getting steak and beef quesadillas and it was absolutely delicious. The meat was super tender and flavorful. It was a special night and they took our photos, printed it and gave up a signed copy from the staff which was very sweet. The interior has a unique and upscale design with an indoor fountain. Will definitely go back.

Yelp
Just finished a delightful lunch at Via Real. The restaurant's vibe is elegant casual and the food matches the atmosphere. Our waiter Eddie put our party of 8 at ease immediately as he explained the menu to our out-of-state guests. His humor and service was flawless throughout the meal. The guacamole appetizer was described by one in our party as "the best" they had ever tasted. The complimentary chips are served warm and are light and crispy. The salsa, also complimentary, is very good and the perfect companion to the chips. Every entree was beautifully plated and we wanted for nothing during the meal due to Eddie's attentiveness. The portions were plentiful and even though half the table was leaving with "take home" containers, we managed to order and finish 3 desserts for the table. All were out of this world. We would highly recommend Via Real and Eddie if you are looking for a superior dining experience in Las Colinas.

Yelp
Our company had a dinner here tonight as a group of about 60. We had the room off to the side to accommodate everyone. The food came out for everyone on time and was excellent. The wait staff was professional and efficient. Thank you so much for a great night

Yelp
Visiting a client in Fort Worth TX and I will admit, I was very disappointed when I learned that we would be dining at a Mexican restaurant, boy was I wrong!!! Hands down the best filet mignon I've had in a long time. Perfectly cooked "SMOKED medium rare and paired with Yukon mashed potatoes, carrot and asparagus!! It was seasoned to perfection and the smoky flavor was the icing on the cake!! Highly recommend this dish!!! Another dish (I did not sample but received great reviews from my colleagues) was the sea bass and shrimp enchiladas (pictured). Overall it was a positive experience, the service was excellent and the staff as a whole was super personalble!! We had a party of 10 and were well looked after. On the downside, the appetizer options were pretty basic and lacked enthusiasm and the old fashion I ordered was amateur. I would good back and would recommend this place to friends and family!

Yelp
This restaurant is amazing! From the upscale ambiance, awesome food and excellent service. They have it all! We came for their Mothers Day brunch and the buffet was delicious. Their prime rib was the best I have ever had! There was not one thing on this brunch buffet that wasn't deliciously awesome. You are treated like royalty here! They take great care of their customers! I loved everything about this dining experience!!

Andrea A.

Yelp
The whole experience was fantastic. Food was delicious. Service was excellent. I will return again.

Yelp
Came to Sunday Brunch (not knowing there was a brunch, but yay). The $38.00 price for adults is reasonable, considering the spread they put on! There's a salad table (with the most wonderful grilled vegetables - don't skip those), the buffet line, and an impressive dessert/fruit table. We came around 1 p.m. and they close up at 2 p.m. to prepare for the evening dinner, but I was surprised at how stocked the buffet still was. The only thing I noted was the eggs benedict was cool instead of warm, but realize that if you keep the container warm, those wonderful yolks will harden up. I'm looking forward to coming to another brunch just to try those when they're warm. Take care - the dressed salad is spicy, but tasty, with a great jalapeno dressing. On the buffet they have everything from waffles to migas, fajitas to empanadas, enchiladas and everything in between. Don't skip the soups at the end of the buffet line. I had the roasted corn soup and it was terrific. Service was great - our server was Carlos and he was helpful since this was our first visit to Via Real. The plates were kept clear of the table and our glasses were always full. I really look forward to returning, not only to the buffet, but on an evening to get a look at their regular menu.

Yelp
This is a solid restaurant with good food, drinks and service. There are choices for every taste and budget (entrees from about $15-65). It can be fully booked during prime time, so reservations (can be booked online) will help assure a table.
google avatar

Marios D.

Yelp
Went there with a group. Great night. Good food great service. The Chips and Salsa wee on the table and were delicious. Many refills. Salsa was a huge hit with everyone. Not to hot but a Tom of flavor We shared the Calamari an sir was delicious. Big rings soft and good taste. Not tough. Large potion too. Crab cakes were also shared and I thought they were OK. Flies and more defrosted fried. Just ok. Shrimp fajitas was my choice and they were delicious. Lots of shrimp and tons of onions. Nice sweet fajitas with all the trimmings Others had the steak which they loved - see pics. Perfectly cooked! I recommend this place.

Yelp
The food here has always been fantastic. I haven't been here in a while, but i brought one of my midland friends here to celebrate her bday and we were pleasantly surprised at how lovely everything was. The decor is lovely and the ambiance is nice :) We kept bending our necks backwards anytime we saw someone order something that was on fire. :) My friend is gluten and dairy free and she was able to find plenty of options for her special diet. We had good eats, good non-alcoholic drinks and lots of laughs. Our waiter was wonderful and very thoughtful. They even brought her some chocolate cake for her bday and took a picture of us on a souvenir polaroid. It was so fun! highly recommended!

Yelp
Delicious food, great atmosphere, superior service, and an owner that cares makes Via Real an example of how a restaurant should run. I have eaten here several times and have never been disappointed. In my last visit the owner, a wonderful lady, stopped by our table and chatted with us for a few minutes. It is a nice change to speak with management when it's NOT about a problem. I would definitely recommend Via Real if you are in the area and looking for a wonderful dining experience.

T S.

Yelp
I cannot stress how amazing this Via Real is. We were here for my birthday for the Sunday brunch and left completely wowed by the service and food. We were sat in the garden room which was lovely. The brunch spread was so delicious. My favorites were the enchiladas, picadillo and eggs, the filet and the dessert spread (so many options). Eddie went above and beyond to ensure we had the best experience. I am so appreciative of Eddie and the team at Via Real. They made the day so special for me and my family. I would highly recommend checking this place out if you haven't been here yet.
google avatar

Ben S.

Yelp
We've eaten here for many years. It's a local favorite of ours. They have excellent service and excellent food. The filet that they set on fire and sear at the table is a must-have! One of the best and most underrated steaks in DFW. I highly recommend Via Real.

Chantell P.

Yelp
Fabulous food and service as always. Ambience lovely too. Eddie was excellent too!. I had Ranchero platter with a yummy stuffed poblano. Margarita margarita Real with Don Julio reposado was delicious!
google avatar

Dante M.

Yelp
We must have eaten here a few times while staying in Irving, and everything was excellent! We were even able to order carne asada fajitas which were delicious. I really appreciate that the chef was able to accommodate that request. Didn't have a single bad bite of food while here, and definitely looking forward to being back soon!

Yelp
This place takes Mexican food to the high-end. As wonderful as the food is here, the incredible ambiance of this place takes it up 100 notches. Outstanding service.

Dalene B.

Yelp
We went there Saturday night. Much to my surprise, we got right in without a reservation. From the moment we stepped inside until we were out the door, the service and attentiveness of the staff was impeccable! The food was outstanding! My boyfriend said that the sea bass special was one of the best seafood dishes he's ever had and my filet mignon was cooked to perfection. We sat close to a running fountain so the ambiance was serene and romantic. We couldn't have picked a better place for an impromptu dinner. You've got to try this place!
google avatar

Howie S.

Yelp
It's interesting to see all the good reviews. Makes me wonder if the reviews are a bit tilted. At there on 4/5/2024. Party of four. We all agreed the food was okay. Nothing special. Sorry.

Leah C.

Yelp
Very classy and somewhat quiet ambiance. The food and waitstaff were amazing! If it's still on the menu you have to try the Grand Marnier cake!!!

Arul D.

Yelp
We were here on a Tuesday evening at 8 PM and this restaurant was buzzing with corporate crowd. We had a table for two and we ordered two meals. For the vegetarian we had the squash enchiladas. The tortilla itself was a little under cooked but the enchilada was very flavorful. we also had Taco de res, tenderloin tacos, which were really intense and flavorful. The corn on the squash enchilada was probably one of the best corns I have had. The best part was the dessert, we had a flan and a rice pudding made like a cheesecake, which was highly recommended by our host And we absolutely loved it. For two people we spent approximately $40 per head but definitely a place I would love to revisit and spend some time. Great ambience Great food and a great host.

Mark M.

Yelp
This place is delightful. I had to find a place near DFW to grab a meal while waiting for my delayed luggage to arrive on a later flight(!). I found Via Real on Yelp, and decided to give it a try. This place is fantastic in every way - the service, the food, the dessert, and the decor. Can't wait to come back again, and highly recommend that you try it too!!
google avatar

Mary Tope A.

Yelp
I cannot stress the enough, stellar wait staff. I went with a large group during lunch and they did an amazing job, taking orders, passing out the food and checking on the group throughout. The ambiance of the restaurant is beautiful. If you are looking for your next date spot, I recommend this. I ordered the chicken Monterrey. It was very flavorful, and the portion size was okay leaning towards large. The sauce did not overtake the chicken flavors but added on to it. For desert, we got the sampler. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to try all the samples because of a food allergy but I did try some. The chocolate raspberry cake was pretty dense but not heavy. The raspberry was not supper potent, I would have preferred for more. The carrot cake had a hint of citrus that the table was not a fan of.

Yelp
We love Via Real!! We eat there anytime we are in the area. The whole staff is extremely friendly and service is always impeccable. The salsa, guacamole and chips are delicious. I usually order the Seabass, which is fantastic. I had the grilled chicken this time. It was equally delicious with a yummy cream sauce and very flavorful veggies. My husband had the filet, again. It was cooked perfectly with a delicious flavor. We can't wait until next time!! It is a must try!

Yelp
To start off speechless. Just wow. Via real, amazing job chief! Service flawless. Ambiance zen, perfect restaurant for a quite romantic dinner, engagement, business meeting. 6 stars in my book. Let's get to the food, 110% satisfying. I wish I could have tried everything on the menu. Stellar. Like I said speechless.

Yelp
A long time favorite for upscale Mexican food, drink and top notch service. This was our go-to for work dinners and celebrations while living and working in Irving in late 90s-2010 and I was thrilled to return last week and have the same wonderful experience. Fran the owner stops and welcomes everyone like an old friend. Hard to beat an evening at Via Real.

Yelp
Amazing food, private dining party with exceptional service! The ambiance was an amazing vibe! We enjoyed appetizers and some amazing wine. Great night at an amazing restaurant!

Yelp
One word: DELICIOUS! desserts are amazing crème brûlée to die for! Everything on a menu sounds great and I ordered multiple positions and they were amazing! Must try! Very romantic quiet atmosphere very pleasant staff

Yelp
The only "Upscale Mexican restaurant" I've ever been to and it's expensive... but I keep going back because the food is just so good, and the people are so friendly. I've had a bunch of different stuff here and everything I have ever had or people in my party have had was very good. If I am anywhere near here I come here I can highly recommend this place

Yelp
Seems a little fancy for a Mexican place but the food is pretty good. Came for lunch with coworkers & had the veggie fajitas. The waitress confirmed "no dairy" when I said no cheese or sour cream & asked if I would like guac (always). They've got things marked as "vegetarian" but I didn't ask if their black beans or tortillas were vegan. My coworkers seemed to really enjoy what they ordered. Service was very good, attentive. Although, I wish the manager hadn't made such a big deal about coming to our table to apologize that service hadn't boxed up our leftovers for us - just send her back to the table to take care of it & address it with her privately.
