Casa Brivio Hotel Review | Hotels Above Par

"A chic local café a short stroll away, Via Stampa Bistrot is presented as a stylish alternative for breakfast if you prefer to sit out rather than have Marchesi 1824 pastries delivered, offering an elegant start to the day."

Via Stampa is the first Milanese restaurant from the 28-year-old winemaker Marco Guzzetti, whose organic farm and winery, Podere del Maro, opened in Liguria in 2018. The 50-seat space overlooks the Roman-era Basilica San Lorenzo Maggiore in Cinque Vie, the city’s historic center, yet it feels more like a Parisian bistro than an Italian trattoria. The dining room features a carved wooden bar at the entrance, which opens up to an enfilade of sunlit rooms with white walls and pale parquet floors. The menu — just as pared back and elegant as the décor — focuses on small, seasonal plates that in the spring include fried artichokes with Parmesan fondue and mint, and ravioli stuffed with borage, an earthy tasting wild herb. - NYTimes

This establishment truly shines as a beautifully elegant venue that embodies classic Italian aesthetics without succumbing to typical decorative heaviness. The expansive windows are a standout feature, allowing abundant natural light to flood the dining area, ensuring a bright and inviting atmosphere even during a casual lunch. There's no need to feel confined to a dim setting here. The menu proposals are pleasant, featuring dishes that are not only visually appealing and approachable but also offer fun experiences through the subtle inclusion of unique ingredients. The wine list is rightly curated, offering an appropriate selection to complement the cuisine. The service is consistently courteous and efficient, contributing to an overall seamless dining experience. Finally guests can enjoy their meal in comfort, seated at generously spaced tables within a well-air-conditioned and pleasantly quiet environment.

Beautiful space for all day meals in Milano. We had breakfast here and were not disappointed by the coffee and pastries. The restaurant is spacious and nicely curated. Well done!

Restaurant with stunning vintage/new piece of interior furnitures somewhat very different from other places in Milan. Food is fairly classic Milanese alongside other non-Lombardia dishes but limited and it is nice. Wine menu is abundant so many to choose from.

Very cozy restaurant & coffee space for excellent Italian food. The rague pasta was amazing while the sliced roast beef was excellent.

Came here after reading a NYT April 2024 article about “where to eat and drink in Milan.” The restaurant was cute, minimalist, with great traditional Milanese food and a terrific wine list. Our waitstaff was friendly, knowledgeable, and made some great recommendations. Such a cute restaurant off the standard touristy path. Would definitely recommend grabbing dinner here one night if you need a break from heavy, Italian food!

Confusing experience at this place a couple of nights ago. Was hoping to have a classic Milanese meal and this restaurant, which other websites had under the name Enoteca Regionale Lombarda, described it as having a very traditional menu (risotto, veal cutlet, etc). So I get there, and the restaurant has a different name (Via Stampa) and when I walked in it took the several young women in there a while to acknowledge me which was odd because there was literally one table in the restaurant that was occupied. When the very nice waiter gave me the confusing menu I was surprised to find none of the traditional dishes I was expecting. He mentioned that the menu had been changed some time ago. Since the restaurant doesn't have a working website, or even an updated Facebook page, there was no way for me to have discovered that these changes had been made. Anyway, nothing on the menu looked appealing, but I was tired to I ordered a simple pasta dish with tomatoes that was really basic. Not bad at all, but just ordinary. Didn't order any wine with dinner as I just wanted to eat something quickly and get out of there. Anyway, just an odd experience. I suggest that they update their social media and put up a website with a current menu.

We had a mix of the different courses on the menu, the ragu, shrimp pasta, pea soup, leak, tartare. It was all cold, the pasta was overcooked and nothing seemed fresh. It was a big disappointment and I would not recommend anything but the bread and the wine. The restaurant itself was beautiful. After seeing this review, the restaurant have called us and offer to give better feedback, which is positive.
