"Driving this 1.5-mile-long viaduct across the Tarn Valley can be unsettling because at its tallest mast it soars 1,104 feet above the valley floor—taller than the Eiffel Tower—earning it the title of the world’s tallest vehicular bridge when it opened in 2004." - Lyndsey Matthews

"A now-closed Kendall Square restaurant that earned acclaim for a France-meets-New-England approach; an opening-team chef there ran the charcuterie program, producing pâtés, rillettes, and house accoutrements such as jams and mustards." - Rachel Leah Blumenthal
Are you brave enough to cross the world’s scariest bridges? - SilverKris
"One of the tallest bridges in the world with a mast extending 343 m above its base, this road features steep climbs and descents and can be closed in winter due to sudden heavy snowfall. Lauded as a major engineering achievement, driving across it is often recommended for those seeking an adrenaline rush." - SilverKris
An engineering marvel. We took a de-tour on our road trip to Andorra and went to the Viaduc de Millau and it is breathtaking. we didnt get to go on it however we got right up to it and it was worth it.

Went to the visitor center, very informative, really enjoyed it. There is a lot of videos on the construction, a model of the pillar construction and an extremely well done interactive show. Even more amazing, it's all free.

This must be one of the coolest bridges in the world to drive over. It’s very long to drive to from Calais but you must come here at least once, because it’s a masterpiece of engineering. The bridge sits so high there were clouds beneath it.
Just so you’re aware there is no where to stop on the actual bridge. We found the best experience was to drive below it for photos then drive over the top. It takes an hour of driving to get from the bottom to the top where the bridge is with no traffic.
There is a toll but at the time we crossed it only cost about €8 roughly which we think is a bargain to drive over something so cool!!

This place is a marvel of engineering. At its tallest point you could put the Eiffel Tower under it. To get under it take the first after or last exit before the bridge and follow the signs for the town of Millau. Look for the P for parking right as the road goes under the bridge. This is the best place to get the feel of the enormity of this structure. Enjoy!

Amazing view and architecture.
But it’s expensive, the view is partially covered and you can not park to contemplate.

A modern engineering marvel! Driving over it is an amazing experience, and the views of the valley below are spectacular. Sleek, elegant, and surprisingly graceful for such a massive structure.

The viewing centre, UNDER the bridge, is now closed forever (2022). I was there when they had closed it off and got kicked out of the car park as it was being used for an exhibition.
There is another spot further ahead to the right (when you come from the roundabout) where you can park and take some great photos looking up. You can also see how big the pillars are.
There is a viewing point from higher up at the services off the A75 but you'll have to pay the Toll. But the bridge is much further away and to find the best spot is a bit tricky.

Awesome.. visited the Millau Viaduct this September it was a dull day but that didn't make it any less magnificent. The viewing centre was a little difficult to find, it's right underneath the bridge. It's difficult to imagine how they managed to get the two sides to meet when you see how high up it is. Well worth a visit if you are in that area.
