Vicio Il Mastro Pastaio - Italian Restaurant in Amsterdam

Vicio Il Mastro Pastaio in Amsterdam impressed us with its handmade Italian dishes and warm service. The Busiata alla Mediterranea was perfectly al dente with bright Mediterranean flavours. The Polpo alla Griglia was excellent, tender with a beautiful char. We also ordered the bean soup, and it was quite good. For dessert, the Pistachio Tiramisu was just right in texture and flavour. You can really taste the chef’s skill in every dish, and the staff were friendly and helpful. A great spot for quality Italian food.

Very cosy and nice Sicilian restaurant, with very good food! The pasta were amazing, and the staff was very helpful and provide suggestions over the menu! I would definitely come back to taste more of these plates!

Absolutely wonderful place for Italian food! The most delicious pasta in Amsterdam, the best tiramisu and wine selection!!! We had great time! Service is amazing, guys know what you need and want before you! An atmosphere is very nice and tables next to the window are very cozy!

We were taken here by an Italian friend, so we knew that the food wasn't going to disappoint! It was authentic and very well made with high quality ingredients. The pricing reflected the dishes served. Would thoroughly recommend.

Small cozy space with delicious food. Staff were also very nice. We tried 4 different pastas, the busiata alla meditterranea which was delicious; spaghettano nero which i definitely recommend! It was very delicious; also the tagliolini salsiccia which tasted very meaty, in a good way. Doesn’t taste like your typical pasta, and then lastly their special which was truffle pasta and it was amazing!!! The only problem was that the portions were in my opinion small for the norm and the price. For the second dish we also tried the guancia di manzo and the meat was very tender and it was delicious. For dessert we tried the pistachio tiramisu which didn’t taste much like pistachio and nothing special about it, also very small. Wine was nice.

This place is amazing. I came a little bit late and I thought they would not let me in, but they allowed me in and made me a fantastic dinner. I ordered the pea soup and a ravioli. Both were very delicious and innovative in terms of ingredients and flavors. I ended my meal with some espresso macchiato. Would visit again and recommend it.

A true Italian gem in town! From the moment you step in, you’re welcomed with fantastic hospitality. Every dish showcases the chef’s personal touch, blending authentic Sicilian flavors with a creative twist. The beautiful aesthetics add to the experience, making it a place to be and to return to.

Service is superb, but meal is ok.. good but not super.. not a fine dining set up in my opinion… lighting is too bright..
