While in search of a good brunch spot while in Charleston, I ran across Vicious Biscuit on Yelp. The Mount Pleasant location was closest to our hotel, so we chose to go . When we arrived on a Saturday around 12 noon, the line was out the door and all the way down to the end of the parking lot. We hesitated at first since it was 100 degrees outside and figured we would be waiting for a while, but then I figured the food must be amazing if so many people were willing to wait in line outside on a day that hot. The line actually moved quickly.
Seating is first come, first serve both inside and outside, but you have to order first and have a number for your table before securing a seat inside the restaurant. By the time we arrived at the counter, we narrowed down what we wanted to order. We ordered the Crab Benny, Sea Biscuit, grits, fresh fruit, The Sweet Puppies, and fresh squeezed orange juice. There is a fixins bar which has sauces and a variety of butters which we tried several and all we enjoyed. When I say everything we had was delicious, it is an understatement. I am not even a fan of biscuits, but was taken back by how flavorful both of our meals were. The Sweet Puppies were soooo good, and since they are made of sweet potatoes, I felt a tad less guilty for totally blowing my diet during our visit.
To top off our five-star brunch, the service was excellent. All the staff made sure that the guests were satisfied, we were even given great advice on places to visit during our stay in Charleston. Hopefully, they will open a Vicious Biscuit in Georgia so I won't have to travel long distance to try it again.
