On the Grid : Vickery Creek Trail

"Weekends are meant for exploring and there's no better place than historic Roswell Mill. Enter Vickery Creek Trail by way of the back Roswell Mill parking lot and choose your route. Our preferred path, start at the covered pedestrian bridge. With a hike that comes in at a little over three miles, this trail is packed with history and aesthetically pleasing sights. We won't give too much away, because - get out there!" - Nimble. Design Co.

Yelp
I enjoyed my evening hike on the Vickery trail. The trail was surely popular as it was filled with folks of all ages. Some were walking like me, others enjoying the beautiful waterfalls and others (kids mostly) playing among each other and in the waters. Depending on which turn you take initially, your path could either be overly crowded or deserted for the most part. I chose the latter unknowingly, but ended up cherishing it :) as I had loads of time to explore on my own. It was a 3.8 miles loop and there were milestone markers everywhere. You'd have the trail maps guiding you all along, even if you get lost. I highly recommend wearing a good pair of walking shoes as some parts of the trail were too steep and slippery. And oh, I crossed a river on a metal pipe with no handrails for the first time in my life! Yeah it was crazy lol Trail difficulty: Moderate Restrooms: Available Pet-friendly: Not the entire trail

Yelp
So refreshing. The water rushing is such a peaceful sound. The trails and pretty clean. A decent amount of people out on the trail and in the water. Fairly quiet and the surrounding area is really nice, too.

Yelp
I love this park! One day I'll venture out and find another waterfall but this park has my heart. The trails are nice. Not too crowded. Extremely relaxing! A few picnic tables. Police patrol as well. Great parking. And then the waterfall is absolutely icing on the cake!

Yelp
Today is Groundhog Day, I wonder what Groundhog predicts. The continuous rain finally stopped. There are very few people hiking the Vickery Creek trail. The formerly bustling covered bridge is deserted, and there are no more people taking wedding photos. You have plenty of time to figure out your favorite photography angle and composition. There was less water in the small waterfall; the cliff side was still closed. After walking the loop, it was already dark.

Yelp
One of the best parks in Atlanta metro as it offers something for everybody. On this Labor Day, "everyone" was here! Most were beating the hot humid heat dipping in the water and a few were hiking. ++ Covered bridge & wooden bridges ++ Water falls ++ Many well groomed trails of easy and moderate difficulty. Some parts of trails are root bound and care is needed. + Lots of parking - Too many people - very popular on weekends = Poorly marked trails ( "you are here" is now marked but people constantly ask what's ahead and navigation questions). +++ Photo ops Easy access and picturesque covered bridge, canopied trails make this park very popular. Though the parking usually is manageable, today it was a mess! But it was good to see everyone out and enjoying nature.

Yelp
So I've been sick for a week and hadn't really been at the house too much. I was in dire need of some nature. I love this trail. I used to live near here and used to be there frequently but it still has a small special place in my heart. It's always pretty clean, it's not too long, so if you want a long trail this may not be for you. But it has really nice views. It has a little waterfall, not the biggest waterfall but it's something to cibia hand in the water a little bit. It's always everybody walk in their dog or whatever there, so there are plenty of people depending on what time you go. I went right nearly in the morning so they weren't that many people there on that time. But it's just a really calm and chill place to go ahead and do a lap or two for like an hour and just sweat a little bit and touch some nature.

Yelp
My fiancé surprised me for my birthday to go hiking here! I had such an awesome time! The hike was very beautiful, not too easy but not too difficult, and had multiple routes for different levels of hikers. I enjoyed that there were maps along the way to guide you. The waterfall was absolutely beautiful! And the platform to observe it was the perfect spot to take pictures! On one side of the waterfall is a paved pathway and the other is the trail so you will have to cross the river to access both depending on where you started your hike. Along the way we stopped for a little picnic close to the trail and it was so peaceful to sit and enjoy the beauty of nature! I highly recommend this hike for anyone looking to get into hiking as it wasn't too difficult and also for experienced hikers since there are multiple routes. If you want to hike just to the waterfall you can or if you want to hike 6-8 miles you're able to have that option as well.

Yelp
We were recently invited to s hike with some friends. This group organizes a hike almost every weekend. But, since this was close to us. We decided to join for this hike. The meeting was at 2pm. Naturally, it was a really hot Sunday. Good thing there were a lot of trees for shades while we hiked the trails. We were told there were a couple of parking areas for this park. We parked at the main one, which was really difficult to find a spot and had to park on top of the hill by the residential areas. Overall, we hiked about an hour and decided to make our way back to the car. The group split into 2 groups. We left with the earlier group and the other continued with their hike. On our way towards parking, we stopped by the river to take a break and feel the cool breeze. I wouldn't recommend going to hike that early. An evening hike around 5 or 6pm would have suffice.

Toya S.

Yelp
As with all summer hiking activities, the earlier you can start the better. With that being said, I went on a Saturday and the trail had a lot of visitors, which I loved because I do not want to be on a lonely trail, just a personal preference. This trail was moderately strenuous and I'm a beginner so it wasn't that bad, pace yourself and keep an open mind; also dress appropriately (mosquitos and spiders, protect your legs) and have adequate hydration supplements. The trail is also mostly wooded so that is another plus as you won't get beat down by the sun too bad. The rocks by the water fall are slippery so wear appropriate shoes and be careful. Happy Hiking.

Yelp
Great place for a walk! There are a lot of trails past the huge bridge, and trails along the river leading to the waterfall as well. It's a nice place to get out and see nature in a modernized city. There is plenty of parking, but that also means that there are lots of people. Even on holidays. We weren't sure where the waterfall was when we got there, but eventually found it by walking all the way left after crossing the bridge. Turns out you don't need to even cross the bridge, but you can access the top of the waterfall from that side. It is a very steep climb to get to the bottom of the waterfall from that side as well, so I would recommend walking to the waterfall from the other side.

Yelp
This is a great place to hike. So glad my best friend brought me here. It is great for a daily meditation by the waterfall , picnic with the family, exercise, as well as incline hiking. To hike the whole trail would take 1.5 - 2 hours definitely the biggest Trail I've ever did. Be careful of wildlife I seen a snake and 3 deers that didn't run when I walked past. Always bring your bug spray , water and protection weapon just in case.

Yelp
The waterfall was decent, was smaller than I expected. You can see it from above or CAREFULLY walk down steep paths to go down on the rocks. There are walking paths with legends however they aren't the most helpful, we got lost a couple of times and ended up on some very adventurous cliff paths that we could've fell in the river from so be very careful & download all trails so you don't get lost.

Yelp
Amazing place highly recommend!! It's a great way to spend with the family. Great for exercise.

Yelp
I went at 9:30 am on a Monday. Free parking. By 11:30, there were still spots, but it was more crowded, so go early. Super crowded on the weekends and very hard to find parking, so if you're able, go on a weekday. Good signage, except some signs are scratched over or torn off completely. All the different paths make it a choose-your-own-adventure hike. You can really make your hike as long as you want to. I did 4.5 miles, but I could've made it longer or shorter. Some elevation change, but it's not too terrible. There are a good amount stairs at the covered bridge. The waterfall is pretty and the covered bridge is a popular spot for pictures. Go early if you don't want people in the background of your pics! The trees will shelter you from the rain. I recommend for a good hike! My dog loved it! Bring water!

Yelp
First time traversing the Vickery Creek trail - you can access via Roswell Rd at Riverside Drive - there's parking from the Riverside Dr entrance furthest south. This is an unnamed road but it's the first left headed east on Riverside from Roswell Rd/Hwy 9 - be careful as the road is narrow and only allows for one car at a time. From the parking you start the trail headed north and can either go left along Big Creek or head up a switchback to gain some altitude. The trail makes a big loop and comes across a couple of bridges where you can cross Big Creek to access points along Roswell Rd - the one at The Mill is quite popular and you can see (and hear) lots of kids enjoying the water. The views are quite nice along the river with lots of stone and short falls. I went on a Sunday afternoon 2019.07.14 - it was about 90 degrees and overcast with high humidity but this mostly-shaded trail was 10 degrees or so cooler. I saw about 20 people hiking including someone in his socks, presumably they walked across the bridge and was just checking things out. If you take the higher altitude trail you'll see mostly rolling hills with easy-to-moderate climbs and dips. Fairly easy going for the most part but lots of roots. Flora is mostly birches, beeches and oaks but there is an extensive area of big-leaf magnolias - always thrilling to see so many in their natural habitat as an understory tree (there are some massive ones for this species towering over 30 feet along the creek). The trail extends to the north and borders Grimes Bridge Rd before coming back. Total distance for me was 6.77 miles taking all the longest parts of the trail from parking-to-parking lot with an average pace of 20.40 minutes/mile.

Yelp
Vickery is great national recreation Area in Roswell. If you like the outdoors this is the place for you. It is part of the many CNRA parks along the river. A group of us did a 6 mile hike today starting at Oxbo Road parking area. On a cold November day, we had the park to ourselves. You can do as many miles as you desire following the well marked trails. The trails meander around the park, but each intersection is marked. Markings are something like "VC 14", so memorize the one that is nearest to your parked car. Creek water was very high and pictured waterfalls shows it. This park is hilly so be prepared for that, with the main hills on the south side of the park. The main attraction is historic covered bridge, which was closed today due to construction of access trails leading to the bridge. Near the covered bridge are remains of two old mills from the Civil War days. Amazingly nice place near the hustle bustle of Roswell and Sandy Springs. Parking. Many options. There is lot on southern end of the park off Riverside Drive, which is a paid lot. Nearby is free parking at Roswell Riverside park with a 1/3 mile walk to Vickery. On the north side, parking is available by the Mill or at Oxbo parking lot. After your hike, you may be hungry and there are lots of good restaurants nearby. Spiced Right BBQ near the north side of the park, and North River Tavern near the south side of the park are two of my favorites. This is a real gem.

Yelp
I didn't expect to be impressed by a trail in Roswell. I just expected all the good scenery and hikes to be more north of Georgia. This place has it all. A covered bridge, historic mills, a decent trail, and a beautiful waterfall. Trail is marked pretty well. There's trail markers, in addition to maps along the trail that show you which marker you're at. There's different routes you can take, depending on which difficulty you would like. The trail itself isn't too difficult. I've walked the trail in flip flops before for a leisurely stroll and I've gone in hiking shoes for an actual hike. It's good for both. I only wish there were more signs or a map directing you to the trail when you first get in. But other than that, I'd highly recommend it. Great for families, groups, or individuals. Parking is ample. Scenery is great. And it's located over by downtown Roswell, so you can reward yourself with some food after!

Yelp
Great trail. I was in the area at Azalea Park and a friend told me about Vickery Trail. So I decided to explore it. It was a great hike. From the bottom of the hill, intersection with Atlanta, I found the trail... It was nice and shaded running along side a stream. As I was walking it got a bit intense, had to hike some rocks along the stream nothing too extreme. But I was prepared because I heard someone giving directions. As I got closer to the old mill started seeing more people and saw the bridge that led to a small town. Up the street found a Bbq spot on Atlanta St. Ordered a brisket taco and a mimosa and headed back to the trail. Highly recommend this spot.

Yelp
The place is very clean no trash in sight. The creek is very pretty but can get crowded on weekends. The trail is very well marked and accurate. So don't worry about getting lost. The beginning from a side entrance can be kind of rough to get through. Overall, a very pleasant experience visiting this park.

Yelp
If you are like me, and don't want to walk a long hike and would like to see the water fall I suggest you look up "old mill park on yelp". I went there this last weekend and just looked up Vickery trail and this location came up. If you decide to take this trail you should know that the trail starts at the corner of a residential street area. You will need to park on the street and the entrance is on the corner leading to the Main Street. Not sure if it's safe or okay to park on the street however we saw a couple cars parked there a well. It isn't hard to find however I decided to take old mill park route instead because it's less distance to get to the water fall. It's approximate 4 miles round trip to get the the waterfall from this location vs old mill park it's about less than a mile to get to the waterfall.

Yelp
Great beginner hike, even our 3 year old did it. We did about a 3 mile loop to the falls and covered bridge and along the river. I love that it's kept so clean.

Yelp
Great creek trails, as expected being part of the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area. I've been here a couple of times before, but moons ago, so this review is for the southeastern section of the park that I hiked recently. There's a small parking lot off Riverside Dr. I think more people use the one on Oxbo Rd. Typical, but gorgeous, Georgia piedmont forest terrain. Trails are well marked, easy to hike. There are 'You Are Here' maps at each of the many intersections, but they don't all actually say where you are. If you really need to know exactly where you are, you need to keep track using the 'VC' marker system on the maps. It's not that difficult. On the trail that runs northwest along the creek, you can continue well past the end of the trail at VC 14 to under, and beyond, the bridge that crosses over to Vickery Creek Park. With some foot skills, you can go a hundred or more yards farther towards the falls. Then it becomes virtually impassable unless you want to scale the cliff. Which I tried to do, but turned back. The waterfall over the Roswell Dam (VC 19) is very scenic and sounds nice, as falls are wont to do. You can continue well past the marked end of the trail that dead-ends at the falls. The creek is quite a bit more serene here. In places, this (unofficial) trail runs right on the edge of the creek-side cliff, so watch your footing. Not a place for kids. Not difficult hiking by any means, but there are some elevation changes involved so you can get a workout if you try. It's a city hike, so you'll hear city noises but the beauty of the park should drown them out. That damned leaf-blower was annoying, however. Those things should be banned.

Yelp
This was our second time here, but we didn't realize it was the same trail. We thought we were doing Oxbo, but it leads into Vickery. We had meant to do maybe an hour hike, but it ended up being two hours, mainly because the directions suck! Their maps are really not helpful at all. The weather yesterday however was perfect for getting lost, and we enjoyed the scenery, and it's not buggy at all! The other plus is it's mostly all shaded too. You just gotta keep your eyes to the ground, so you don't twist an ankle, but I really did love the peacefulness and tranquility of this trail. Surprisingly it wasn't super crowded. We went with my daughter, two of her friends, along with six other of our friends, so it was a big group and a lot of fun! Bring water and snacks if you are going to be there a while, because I know some of us were super hungry by the time this was over. It seems we ended up walking 4 miles in total per my friend's GPS, but again, we kind of got off the path a bit. It's a great place to unwind, relax, enjoy nature, and not get eaten alive in the process. I'd highly recommend coming here if you're in the area. Waterfalls, trees and we even saw a deer! It's a good place to spend outdoors and with social distancing, since it gave me the opportunity to see a friend I haven't seen since COVID hit. Plenty of parking as well, if you can find the right area. The first time we went we parked in a crowded area, but this time, we found a much better place to park. Check it out!

Yelp
I wasn't ready! I mean, I just wasn't ready for both the size and strength of the water falls at Vickery Creek. It's a pretty accessible set of falls, that can be reached in a 10 minute walk from the side closest to the parking lot. Pay attention to little stringer trails that lead down towards the lake, as they often allow you front and center access to the falls, which is truly fantastic! There's a covered bridge that you can cross, which leads to a series of trails that do lead you to the falls from the other side, but also continue on past the falls, which is kind of a stark change from crashing, powerful sounding falls, on to a tranquil stream of water that you'd never expect was the culprit for those great falls just below. There aren't any guard rails anywhere near the falls, so please don't try to jump in here at the top, and definitely keep an eye on your kids/pets. Going back to the falls, they're well marked blaze trails markers, mostly white, some are blue, and there are stop stations that give you a map of the park, although as others have mentioned, there are no "you are here" marks, or at least not from the ones I passed. But they all criss cross on top of each other (the trails), they aren't difficult, and you wont get lost, so feel free to explore. It's a little more accessible on the side nearest to the parking lots, where more of the construction has taken place in the form of nice paved trails, very nice restrooms and clean trails, along with picnic tables and grills. Venture away from the falls, under the covered bridge, and you'll find yourself standing at certain pieces of mill equipment that hasn't been operational in years, but still worth a photo. Parking here, closest to the falls, is pretty slammed, and cars blatantly stop and idle, waiting on people to come to their cars, then they follow them around until they reach their cars. It's so funny to see this. There are of course other lots further away, but definitely aren't first choices. Vickery Creek, which is part of the Chattahoochee River National Recreation area, is an excellent experience in terms of raw beauty, waterfall payoff, and trails accessible to all comers, combined with a covered bridge. I left, thoroughly impressed, and likely will be back soon!

Yelp
Words can't describe the energy and beauty of this place ! A must visit waterfall/trail in Atlanta! There are bugs and copperhead snakes so be careful and Wear bug repellent! Also wear waterproof hiking boots cause the trail can be wet and muddy at times. In my few days in Roswell I went to Vickery creek every day! I couldn't get enough of this place! Towards the sunset When the fireflies would start lighting up this beautiful place would look even more magical!

Yelp
I remember coming here as a kid when it was less crowed and the area wasn't as built up as it is now.The waterfall is soothing and the time to come is in the early mornings before the crowd shows up and ruins the scenery. Years ago I use to come here on the weekends with some people to do Tai Chi. The area like all the parks in Roswell are extremely well maintained and the paths are marked clearly. For all those who don't know but the unspoken rule when you're out with nature is to turn off your cell phone. Don't be the annoying person everyone wants choke and talk on your cell....seriously....I mean unless you're running IBM or say Google....leave your cell in your car... 1447th review 7/6/2018 367th for 2018

Yelp
A dose of nature in the heart of Roswell! Had a terrific time hiking around Vickery Creek, part of the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area. The dam was scenic and a hotspot for sunbathers and waterdippers of all stripes. Getting down was slightly treacherous; I recommend hiking shoes and not flip flops like I saw many people wearing. The covered bridge was quaint; there was a couple taking wedding photos there. Paths were clear and well-marked, with maps at frequent intervals. Could use a few more trash cans since I noticed litter here and there. No restrooms.
google avatar

Jasmine S.

Yelp
I had the most amazing hiking experience here. I went completely alone it was totally safe. The paths were marked. However the paths do not explain how to get to the waterfall However, in my experience that made it a bit more fun having to figure out where it was going the wrong way getting a little turned around. Once you get to the falls you've already experienced the glory of the trail but the falls are breathtaking

Yelp
What a great place to visit on a Sunday morning! CRNA is huge and Vickery Creek Trail was a great work out. We followed Atlanta Trails guide for the trail (http://www.atlantatrails.com/hiking-trails/roswell-mill-vickery-creek-trail/). Inputted in our address in the map/directions section, but the area was closed for maintenance on the trail. Decided then to turn around a park at Old Mill Park off of Mill Street. Trails are about 3 - 5 miles with moderate difficulty. We got lost at a couple of turns and didn't finish the hike till about 5 - 6 miles in. Map was a bit difficult to read. We couldn't locate the 'You Are Here' square anywhere on the map. Regardless, our group and the pup enjoyed the hike. You'll see a covered bridge, old mill ruins, and a spillway dam with waterfall. This place has it all!

Yelp
Get in touch with nature right in your own backyard! I love that this is right in the middle of all the busyness of Roswell. It is a hidden gem featuring some of Georgia's historic mills ruins, and a beautiful dam waterfall and creek with a covered bridge stretching as an overlook to the waters below. It is peaceful and all you hear is nature. :). This is not an all day trip, it is more for sight seeing. Depending on the amount of history you want to learn, you can see everything in 15 minutes (if you just want to see what all the fuss is about - 1 1/2 hours (if you like to take a few minutes to enjoy the beauty of it all). I suggest the second option, it's good for the soul! :). There is one area with a grill that has seating for a small party (8-10 people). Pictures are allowed by tourist, but any professional photographers must have a permit to take pictures on the property.

Yelp
My job doesn't require much physical work or activities during the week, so I try to do some activities over the weekend. Fortunately Atlanta has some nice parks and hiking trail within 20 mile radius. Recently, my colleague has recommended Vickery creek trail that he goes with his family at least once a month. I looked it up, last weekend I decided to give it a try along with bunch of my friends. Vickery creek trail is one of many trails of the 'Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area'. It's named after a Cherokee woman 'Sharlot Vickery' who used to own the land around this creek. There are two entrances to the trail, one at riverside rd(Exit 6 on 400) and another one at S Atlanta st(Exit 7 on 400). I prefer the riverside rd entrance, as it run parallel to the Chattahoochee river for some distance before turning right inland. The trail is a big loop, so it comes back to the parking lot of the riverside rd entrance. You can find driving directions at the link below, which we followed and found to be accurate. http://www.georgiatrails.com/gt/d/Vickery_Creek_Trail_Complex The trail is clearly marked and has 'You are here' maps all over. But still it is easy to get confused and take a wrong fork. Fortunately, most wrong forks take you to some parking lot or the trail will come to end, so you can always trace your way back to the map and start over. Even though my colleague takes his kids to this trail via riverside rd entrance(and I have seen few other parents doing the same on that day of our hike), one should note that there is a bit of walking and hiking over rocks involved. While it is generally medium difficulty for adults, it could be difficult and dangerous for kids. So parental supervision is very important, at least until you cross those rocky pathway. Don't panic, this is still a nice way to introduce outdoors to kids - just watch out. The hiked the entire trail and it came about 6 miles overall. Much of the trail was covered in canopy of trees, so even on a hot day we didn't feel very hot. But still we went there prepared with backpack full of water bottles(It is very important to keep oneself hydrated, I learnt it hard way in the past). Overall it took us around 2 hours to complete the trail - we stopped a lot to take picture & chitchat. At the end of the hike, we had loads of fun and left the trail quite hungry. I highly recommend this trail. Am I the only one to think running on the treadmill is boring?

Yelp
This was an awesome trail.. get away from life.. get away from your world, your cubicle and grab your significant other and just enjoy the nature .... it's peaceful the waterfalls are worth it... plenty of places to have a picnic. The trails are challenging and will make you work. Georgia I'm falling in love with you!! I may have to leave California for you

Yelp
I've lived here about 12 years and was never aware that there was such an extensive hiking area in Roswell. There are 7.1 miles of hiking trails in the Vickery Creek complex, according to the sign at the Oxbo entrance. Much of these trails go near Vickery Creek, which is somewhat of a misnomer because it's more like a small river. There is an old mill with a dam and a waterfall over the dam which is quite scenic. There were a few groups of primarily teenagers around the mill area, but most of the other hiking trails were totally empty. This is a great place to go if you want some solitude with nature and a good exercise outdoors. The trails are all clearly marked with maps at crossing points, so you can't really get lost. I parked on Oxbo in the gravel lot, but you can also park on the other side off Mill Street, which is closer to the mill location, the dam, and a covered bridge that takes you to the other side of Vickery Creek. The Oxbo side is less crowded. If you go there, you need to go left on the trail if you're facing the creek until you come to a bridge, then cross the bridge and you'll be in the hiking complex.

Yelp
The trail was a great walk nice view. We enjoyed the waterfall and covered bridge. Great history to learn about Vickery Creek. The parking was great. Nice restroom. Met plenty of great people. Pet friendly place. The kids love it.

Yelp
Beautiful spot in Roswell. Lots of parking and a trail. Treacherous descent into the waterfalls leads you to some amazing photo ops. Slippery rocks but if you have the right water shoe you will be safely waddling in the cool waters or under the waterfall
google avatar

Yelp
This would be a great hiking spot but the legend and directions on the trail are completely unhelpful. The legend will tell where you are but it doesn't tell you how to get out of the park. When entering the park, it is wise to know what number you entered so you know where you're trying to get back to; otherwise your hike can be endless. The legend will be zero help to you.

Yelp
I've been out and about discovering different hikes in Atlanta and my friend told me about this one about 5 miles from my house. I'm really glad I went! It's one of the most beautiful hikes I've been on. The trail makers are a great add and makes it easy to not get lost. The waterfall was absolutely stunning. It's definitely a trail I would do several times a year

Yelp
Great place to explore! This place is awesome! So much fun for family and kids! The mill and the covered bridge give it a nice touch of history and nostalgia to add to the ambiance! The dam is pretty impressive and its great just to sit or lie on a rock and feel the water breeze just slightly spraying you. Plenty of space to sit and enjoy. The trails are nice and easy. The river in this area is really accessible and kids will really enjoy it. MY only complaint is that the trails don't seem to be marked or guided too well. I wish they had more signage, especially when you first get there. It LOOKS like you can't go down directly to the river when you cross the covered bridge, but you actually can. Oh well! At least it wasn't too crowded due to this!

Yelp
Loved this place, its absolutely peaceful and the scenery is amazing. I don't recommend bringing young children who require a stroller because the terrain is uneven and hilly in some areas. Other than that its a great place to come to, especially if you need to drain some stress and just relax.

Yelp
This is a great hiking trip to do over the spring, fall and summer. The waterfall is beautiful and the walking is nice. Its an amazing place to bring your bathing suits and get in the water or let your feet wet. I would love for you guys to come here and enjoy the nice water and nice nature. This place is dog friendly so if you have dogs u should bring them they will love it and the water. This place is also, kid friendly so if u have any kids they would love it . If u have a dog and they poop you will have to bring a bad for them bc u will be responsible for there poop. Yelp
Pretty trail and a great place for a short hike. It's connected to the Big Green Way somehow... but I can't claim I've hiked the entire park just yet. Be careful in the parking lot - there were some sharp rocks and they caused one of my tires to leak. Otherwise, great place to visit for a short, brisk hike.

Yelp
Nice place to hike in the summer. Most of the trail is covered under the trees so it makes the hiking manageable in 90 degrees weather. And you know how hot and humid it gets in Atlanta when it's 90 degrees! The trail map is bit confusing. Lucky for me, I had a friend with good sense of direction. If not, you can just follow the trail next to the water and it loops around. The trail and the fall was very clean. Family oriented, dog friendly. Definitely coming back!

Yelp
This is an amazing hiking trail! Although I got lost and walked more miles than intended, I thoroughly enjoyed this outdoor area! What an amazing place! This is the perfect place to spend a few hours burning calories and take in the beauty of nature. I will most definitely be back very soon!

Yelp
Lots of winding trails conveniently located to downtown Roswell, including a the falls, a covered bridge, and paths along the river. The actual parking lot just off Riverside drive. They've got trash cans and a parking pass station ($3 per visit, or your annual pass for the Chattahoochee River NRA is also good here), but no water fountains or toilets. The paths are well-signed, well-maintained, and even have a few benches to rest along the way. Though a few a currently closed for trail restoration, those are marked accordingly.

Yelp
Nice hiking area and scenic. Wished the maps were easier to read and more signs directing you where to go. Apparently there's one side of the trail that will get you to the waterfall but without trekking all through the woods. Still a good time though!

Yelp
Great day hiking trail. Trail leads along the river, through the woods, and by a waterfall. The trail marker signs are a little confusing, should have more of a color differentiation. Great day! Found a nice big rock along the river to stop for lunch too. Would go back for sure.

Yelp
Was in ATL for a wedding and didn't know the area at all, and wanted to get a run in. Wish I'd driven there instead of running from the hotel (the road it's on is pretty hairy to run on, though there's a path just off road for part of it) BUT the trails were awesome! Shaded and well maintained. Trail markers are a bit confusing but otherwise, a great place to get in a trail run or walk and be shielded from the August sun.

Yelp
Where do you park? We got there to the address listed and it led us to a dead end with a big stop sign and 2 parking spaces that said don't park. Drove around too see if there might be another entrance.
