"Visit Vickery's for views of Shem Creek and Southern-fried favorites. The shrimp or fried oyster baskets seem a perfect match for the waterfront restaurant. Kitchen Hours: 1:00 a.m., seven days a week" - Erin Perkins

I loved this place. I came here to eat oysters, since I saw that they serve oysters on Google Maps. Unfortunately, they weren't serving them and I didn't see them in the menu. The plate I ordered was a rice with seafood, a great option and a huge portion, I couldn't finish it. I had a draft beer, which was not cold enough to my taste. My waitress was super nice and attentive. The view I had from here was amazing. There are options for sitting inside, outside, and some nice windows with air conditioning available too. This is a very decent place for having a meal. A little expensive but I think it's worth it. It the tables and windows were cleaner it would be great! The parking system could be a little confusing. My advice is: park, have in mind your plate number, don't scan or pay anything before entering the restaurant, when you are in the restaurant they will provide you with a QR code where you have to enter your info and give you 3 hours of free parking.

We went for food and atmosphere. Sat outside on the deck and ate. Listened to DJ down below from Muddy's and he was entertaining. The view with the river and other bars/restuarants was pretty. Food was good. Lots of us got fried shrimp and it was good.

Google
The views are excellent but the windows were dirty. We went 1/17/25 it was 55 degrees with some wind. Walking into the establishment the heat slaps you in the face and you immediately have to take your jacket off. Wearing a sweater being its winter, the jackets were all we could shed. Sitting near the window one row over not in the sun was uncomfortable, to warm. It was comfortable for the employees walking around in thin short sleeve t-shirts. This establishment is popular here and has been here a long time but it's time for a thorough deep cleaning and remodel. There's holes in the benches in the booths.

Google
Food took a very long time (almost an hour for a sandwich and salad) so we got it to go and I should’ve just cancelled our order. Tuna is overcooked and dry on the sandwich, fries tasted frozen. They delivered the spinach artichoke dip with six baby carrots, no chips after we asked for tortilla chips instead of pita chips. Outside seating was cold and windy, no heaters or anything to buffer the wind which made it hard with the wait time for food. Came here for my birthday bc reviews were good and I wanted to see the sunset, but I was very disappointed with the all around experience and food especially. Our server was nice. If I could get a partial refund my review would be nicer. But I honestly feel like I deserve my money back, except the tip for the waitress. Maybe it was a one off thing, but I would not go back of my own volition.

Google
The most disappointing crab cakes ever!!! But my husband shared his meal and it was ok. The location was nice. The view was priceless. Handicap accessible was a plus!!! Food failed us tho.

Google
The fried flounder sandwich with jalapeño tarter has always been a favorite. They changed to bread and lettuce and tomato were weak. French fries and gravy wimpier than it used to be but flavor spot on. Will continue to come back!

Google
My friend and I went for a couple of drinks and sat at the Shark Finbar out on the patio. Len was our bartender, and he was great!! He made us both an OG Orange Crush with fresh squeezed orange juice. Perfection!!

Google
The staff was fantastic and the setting was great. Being able to sit out on the patio and enjoy the boats coming in was fantastic. I appreciated the parking validation as well. The food was okay and was pretty standard. The flounder sandwich that I had was pretty bland and needed quite a bit of hot sauce to add something to it. I was expecting the jalapeno tartar sauce to have some more flavor. I would go back to Vickeries and try other things and especially for the service which was quick, friendly, and engaging.

Yelp
Disappointed in the food today. Service was great though. All of our fried food tasted like the oil was old. Fried flounder was soggy, crab cakes were small and did not consist of much crab. Best thing were the fried green tomatoes.

Yelp
4.5 stars My cousin used to work here back in the day so it was recommended by her. Sunset views are great and there's a boardwalk you can check out. Service was a little slow and food could've been slightly warmer, but the atmosphere is what made it what it was. We got the calamari appetizer ($13.95?). I got the mahi club (which I was told was the more popular of the two between the salmon BLT) and my dad got the shrimp basket for $22.95- no room for dessert here. 2024 #14

Yelp
This was our first dinner experience in Charleston for this visit and WOW - YES please!!! The food - AMAZING! The staff - attentive and friendly The atmosphere - warm and relaxed We did go after dark and weren't quite sure where we were going so it was a little tough to find, but if you head back to the far back side of the parking lot you can find parking and the entrance. We went in the back porch way but eventually found our way to the hostess. I ordered the small Spinach Salad with Raspberry Vinegrette dressing and a cup of Black Bean Soup. It was really good. The soup was hot and super tasty. The salad wasn't really anything special, but it was exactly what I wanted. My companion ordered the Western Burger with fries and HOLY GOODNESS that was a beautiful burger. I stole a mouthwatering bite. It was so good! The patty was hanging over the bun on all sides and the sauce and juices were dripping. It was one of those burgers you don't want to stop eating even after you're beyond full. It was so good. 10/10 would recommend the burger and the soup! The waitress who served us was friendly and attentive - our glasses never went dry and she checked on us throughout our meal at respectable intervals. The only thing I would have give a 9/10 stars for was the lighting - it was a little dark. If you have trouble seeing in darker rooms, it would be tough to see the menu, but if you were looking for that vibe for a first date, it would be great.

Yelp
It was 5/8/2024 and we were stuffed from a late breakfast but we tried Vickery's Bar & Grill for a cocktail and snack. Drew M was our server and at 22, surprisingly one of the best, most attentive waiters. The restaurant is lovely with a great atmosphere, beautiful outdoor seating and an elevator for the disabled. Highly recommended

Geysi J.

Yelp
Interesting decor the moment you arrive and I love the uniqueness of it all of this location. Great music playing the whole evening. We received great customer service the whole time. Great drinks along with great food. The fried calamari was good and the orange marmalade that comes with it. The bourbon shrimp was so delicious that I had to get the bourbon shrimp pasta. The Pesto Salmon was so delicious it's crazy. Everything tasted fresh and came out nice and hot. Everything was cooked wonderfully. The view from this restaurant is wonderful especially watching the sunset. Definitely would recommend this location.

Gamilah M.

Yelp
The ambiance was great, the food not so much! I had a crab cake sandwich. It was deep fried and hard. I'm very disappointed. They did make it over, but there was so much breading. Would not order again.

Mark L.

Yelp
Fantastic place great atmosphere!!! Beautiful area... If you are VERY VERY LUCKY you will get Dante for a server!

Emily A.

Yelp
We stumbled into Vickey's in a spur of the moment. We had low expectations - restaurant on the water in a huge tourist town... we were seated right way which was a nice surprise. Since we have been to many restaurants like this, the bar was truly on the ground. We have learned to expect the worst for any restaurant with a view. That said, what a NICE surprise it was when the food was actually EXCELLENT!! The gravy on the southern fried chicken was some of the best I've ever had. The collards were packed full of flavor. The chicken was tender and moist. The potato's mashed with real chunks of potato. We were blown away by how good the food actually was. I can't wait to go back!

Shawnna P.

Yelp
We were a party of 15. Served with care and attention. Every single member of the family enjoyed their dishes. Bourbon shrimp was the winner. Cashew crusted tuna steak on a bed of salad was #2. Jambalaya was a close 3rd. Fabulous black bean burger!!!! The fries were good all around. Yummy crab cakes. The fish burger gets special mention. Interesting cocktails. Good wine and beer. You can eat inside or out on patio. Restrooms are clean. Lots of parking.

Susan M.

Yelp
I took my daughter and her friend for lunch and we had a fabulous time sitting outside under fans and watching the boats go by. Our waitress was fast, available and a pro! Lots of smiles and positive vibes. We enjoyed the following: Bourbon Shrimp appetizer- bowl filled to the brim with medium-sized shrimp that swam in bourbon sauce, yummy! Enough for 3-4 people. Turkey Pita Sandwich- this has Brie with cranberry Mayo, huge and tasty! French fries were fried to perfection and super crispy! Hamburger with mashed potatoes- heavenly and HUGE. The Club sandwich- again HUGE and fresh. Our favorite lunch restaurant at Shem Creek!

Saundra J.

Yelp
I met a few clients for lunch a Business meeting at Vickery's. Wow I didn't know Vickery's was on Shem Creek. This restaurant I located on the waterfront and the view is awesome. Services was great! Our waiter took excellent care of us from start to finish. One of my clients ordered a Margarita and she said it was so good she ordered another one. I ordered the Big Platter, which was fried seafood, plenty of oysters, shrimp, 3 flounder, and scallops, it was huge!! One guest ordered a small Spinach Salad(she enjoyed nothing spectacular) and the other guest ordered fried oysters, fried scallops and an order of crab cakes. The food was served hot out of the kitchen. There was no complains just silence. I definitely will be back to dine at Vickery's soon.

Sue H.

Yelp
Not fabulous ambiance in this old restaurant, but a beautiful setting for a lunch on the marsh! Service was friendly, and the hostess was willing to shut the door allowing 54 degree air inside. We started with a hot artichoke dip, which was all cheese covered with parmesan cheese. Tasty but so much cheese. I ordered the bourbon shrimp which also had crawfish tails the sauce was very very light butter not heavily flavored grits were well prepared and creamy. My husband had the jambalaya really enjoyed it but ended up picking the meat out of the plentiful rice at the end. We did not opt for drinks or dessert on this visit but really enjoyed walking the Shem Creek nature area both before and after our lunch. Checkout the wonderful historic tin type tiles on the walls of the bar by the bathrooms!

Yelp
Good service, nice view, but...very dirty place, food is meh, and parking is horrendous. The parking app, seems like a scam. We used the app, and still received a ticket from the private parking service.

A. V.

Yelp
Food and service were excellent. The ambiance was spot on. We had a party of 16 including kids under 7, teenagers and adults. Everyone had a great time, the food came when promised drinks were cold. No complaints.

Laila S.

Yelp
My friend and her family came here recently to celebrate her mother's birthday when I was told they were being racially discriminated. That's crazy because I planned on coming there next week while I was in town, but since she had such a horrible experience, kiss my visit goodbye. Neither myself, nor my family will ever come to this place until yall get a new staff. That's unacceptable. I really hope management reads mine and her reviews and make some changes or something because after what she told me, yeah we'll never come here. That's disgusting how you treat people this way.

Cynthia H.

Yelp
Food was ok and drinks were good. I was overcharged on my bill which was a downer . The view is awesome. I would Not go back if visiting this area again .

Suzanne H.

Yelp
We frequently go to Shem Creek and love eating at Vickery's. Today we went and there were 8 of us. We were told that we can't be seated for 8 so asked to have us sit with 2 parties of 4. We were told they can't split groups. We blatantly asked if they are refusing to seat us and we told that yes they can't seat us even though outside had several open tables and several that were next to each other. We asked for a manager who said the same thing. Their policy is to rotate seatings. First we heard why we can't have 2 sets of seating next to each other. We asked if there could be an exception and the manager refused. I verified that I was hearing they would not seat us even though we chose to go there to eat and drink with 8 people out of all the places we could go on the creek. They turned our business away. I didn't realize restaurants were doing so well they feel they could turn away a party of 8 on a Saturday afternoon. The manager should learn to think about profit and service and not the rules set in place that don't serve the community.

Darina S.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I went out to get a drink on a Saturday night. We brought our dog and he was a service dog but we left the tag in the car and said we would get it. We brought him upstairs because downstairs was too busy. It was 9:50pm. I was 21 celebrating my 22nd birthday 2 days before hand. They told me my dog couldn't be up there and that anybody who was under the age of 23 wasn't allowed to drink at muddies after 10. It's just wild that i couldn't prove that my dog was a service animal and the fact that I couldn't get a drink at 21 after 10. They weren't nice or respectful so I would ditch that place if you wanted to go out under the age of 23 or be bringing a service animal.

Stefan H.

Yelp
Great view of the Shem Creek and good food and service. BUT, when you order a $28 Flounder and Scallops fried platter I would think you get it on a plate, rather than the flimsy plastic basket you get when you order a burger and fries in a less expensive restaurant. Definitely not the best.

Ebony M.

Yelp
Great ambiance!! Service was fast !! Which I really appreciated. Drinks were just ok...not a lot of liquor but it was ok. Crab cake and corn for appetizer was delish !!! However , the corn was cool but it matched perfectly with the crab cake and dip. We ordered a huge 4-meat fried platter which was enough for 2-people. Fish was cooked well / fried shrimp and scallops were amazing. Fried oysters were ok - we're not big oyster fans. They gave us free dessert since it was my husbands birthday !! Bread pudding was amazing!!! Parking was $25 in the huge lot however , after your meal it can be validated ....Free Parking!! Great views of the water. There is an outdoor seating area - and the views are amazing!!

Brian C.

Yelp
Me and the wife came in here for dinner time. We were seated instantly on the outside back deck. The waitress came soon after to get our drink orders. We started by ordering drinks and and appetizer. We got the warm artichoke dip. It was pretty good. Then we ordered our entrees. I got the Grilled Mahi club and she got the small spinach salad with chicken. We both really enjoyed our meals, they had great flavor, ingredients and portions. Would def order the sandwich again! Our waitress Allie was amazing! The reason I gave a 4 star instead of a 5 is because the foot traffic coming upstairs on the back deck through the dining area and to the restrooms could have been directed better. They should put a gate on the back stairs so the drunks wouldn't disturb the customers dining in.

Lexi G.

Yelp
The best part about our meal were the appetizers- spinach artichoke dip, fried green tomato tower, and buffalo wings. Our waitress was super sweet, though I didn't catch her name. For entrees we ordered the southern burger with potato salad and the grilled mahi club with fries. The burger was great, the club left much to be desired. It was all bun, a bite of tomato, and flavorless mahi. Fries were good, at least! The views from our outdoor table were great, of course. This would be a better place to come for just drinks and an appetizer (skip the meal).

Debra F.

Yelp
Food was awful !! These spring rolls was in this sauces they was soggy and oily !! Bloody Mary was awful too

Yelp
Vickery's has been a little hit or miss for me in the 4-5 times I've eaten there. Some of its food is downright amazing while others suffer from inconsistent execution. For starters, it's an older establishment--one of the long running Shem Creek restaurants on the water. Great views from the deck seating--Dolphins, pelicans and shrimp boats galore. The dining room could use some freshening up--dusty crusty booths and chairs. Moving on to the food, for starters, the fried green tomatoes rank up there with some of the best in the Lowcountry. I have not found thicker, greener, fresher tomatoes anywhere else. Served with marinara, feta and pesto, they are fantastic. Same goes with the oyster bisque, which is touted as winning 1st prize in a food festival. Moving on to entrees, the seafood jambalaya delivered with its shrimp, sausage, crawfish and scallops. The seafood baskets were good, with the shrimp being better than the scallops, some of which were undercooked. The crabcakes have been underwhelming--the breading to crab meat ratio being too high. In short, Vickery's appetizers have delivered on a more consistent basis and I wonder if taking a tapas approach to eating here might equate to a better experience. However, if it can just tighten the quality control of its entrees up a notch, Vickery's can easily reestablish itself as one of the best choices on the creek. (3.25 stars).

Kelley H.

Yelp
Super yummy! Beautiful views of the Shem creek! The prices were very reasonable and the staff was nice and pretty responsive. The only downside is Muddys the beach mini bar downstairs gets loud and rowdy- so that was very distracting from our dinner and took away from the peacefulness.

Samantha B.

Yelp
The bourbon pasta was good. Our waitress was very sweet. The ambience was okay. But one of the members of our party was dissatisfied with her order. She sent it back. The manager came out and said that she did not see anything wrong with the order and told her that she would not take the order off the bill. This left us with a bad impression because the manager was going back and forth with the member of our party arguing with her about the fact that she believed the food was fine. So much for customer service. Won't be back.

Keith W.

Yelp
Not sure what happened. This used to be a family friendly place. We had a party of 10 with 5 high school aged and 5 adults. They refused to split us up and seat us outside for lunch so we could enjoy the view....this was not a busy time and there were plenty of seats outside. The manager was very rude to us in her explanation that kids are unruly and run around...all of ours were in high school for Gods sake...Glad they have enough business to be able to be able to treat people that way. Too many good places in Charleston to deal with that kind of treatment and the food doesn't support the attitude...that place is dead to me.

Cindy G.

Yelp
Eight of us came here on a Monday early afternoon and were seated right away. Staff is very attentive, and the restaurant was very clean and spacious. There are tables by windows with a view of the water. I ordered the crabcake sandwich on a brioche bun, and it was very flavorful with a little bit of a kick to it. French fries came out hot and crispy on the outside. Coleslaw was creamy and plentiful as a side. The fried flounder was very flaky and the texture was very light. Portion was good. Will definitely be back!

Emily M.

Yelp
I would say this was the worst experience I have ever had at an establishment, and it wasn't due to service or the food. Management made an absolute fool out of themselves due to a singular manager, Jan. We came in to dine last night originally having a group of 6 we were promptly sat. Although getting food and drinks was a bit slow it's a Saturday, and our group completely understands. We Ordered a ton of food and drinks, and happily provided ID to our server. A few friends in the area had joined our group, but we were mindful and simply squeezed in at our smaller table. Which because we knew it was the original understanding of 6 guests however the 3 extra people had shown up, we were not trying to inconvenience the hosts and server by moving tables, plus at this point we were half way through our meal. Some things to note, the section we were in had plenty of open tables, we provided all the appropriate ID upon ordering drinks. Now let's talk about JAN THE MANAGER! Jan thought it would be appropriate to approach our table and berate us regarding the 3 extra guests, stating it was a fire hazard and dhec would get on them, etc,etc... Following making a scene towards the end of our meal and treating us like children JAN THE MANAGER decided to reproach us and pulled out a flashlight and her glasses and proceeded to reID us even though our server had done so prior to us ordering and we had already ordered drinks! She then felt it necessary to harass one of our guests by asking her questions about her ID because she's visiting and her ID is Maryland asking rude and honestly overbearing questions for the circumstance regarding. Flashing her light around at our table and struggling with reading IDs AGAIN AT THE END OF OUR MEAL AFTER WE HAD ORDERED! She left and then felt the need to come back again this time with wristbands bugging us about whether we were going to the bar downstairs, to which she wristbanded us and made sure over emphasize it is apparently 23 and up after 10pm, which I have never heard of or experienced at Shem creek, seeing as the legal drinking age in the United States is 21+ . We promptly left after that horrendous encounter, embarrassed on our own behalf and our servers, who if dealing with assholes could have been dealing with a walkout, but we went out of our way to all put extra in on the tip that was already being given. I also asked our server if this was a regular occurrence, and he let us know that it wasn't and was also confused and embarrassed by the encounter. More than JAN THE MANAGER being a horrendous individual and scaring off paying customers, I will never dine or recommend Vickery's to anyone ever again. Also if you are going to be the only bar on Shem to have a 23+ policy maybe post it on your website, the bar, on the menu, and socials. I did double check and no where does it say 23+ only,,, which from my knowledge is illegal and could be considered ageist discrimination. But what do I know. This establishment is an embarrassment on behalf of southern hospitality, and I'm sad to say that because our server was wonderful and all of us in attendance frequent Vicks. AGAIN JAN THE MANAGER Is someone I recommend reconsidering their position.

Mary O.

Yelp
We were told there was a 30min wait for table which was ok, we were seated and had to wait over an hour for our appetizers. Once they came they were cold, the food came out before we could finish the appetizers, it was cold and terrible! The bathrooms were disgusting the sink was overflowing and the smell came out all the way into the restaurant! Save yourself the time and money and eat somewhere else!!

Kate G.

Yelp
The worst meal I've ever had. Dried out burger, bun dry, hard and baked days ago. Inedible. I've never left a burger on a plate. Fried green tomatoes gross. Had a local friend recommend the burgers - maybe it was good a few years ago. Happy we didn't puke that night. Yeah, it was that kind of meal. Great service! 2 stars for the view!

Erika B.

Yelp
Great fresh seafood with a nice view! Loved the fried shrimp! The shrimp are a good size and service is fairly quick!

Cassie H.

Yelp
If you're a gambler, this place is a dice roll. If you're fortunate enough to be seated outside, you'll enjoy a calm marsh view under the shade of an umbrella. If you're seated inside, you'll wonder how a dusty old diner with ripped seat cushions and rocking tables manages to keep the doors open. Do you feel lucky? Honestly, if Vickery's didn't have some of the best fried green tomatoes in Mount Pleasant, I'd probably never go again. There's just something about them. Fresh and fried to a crispy, layered with herbed cheese in a towering stack, and surrounded by marinara? It's a beautiful union of Lowcountry and Naples. The fried shrimp is juicy and delicious. Everything else? Eh. My recommendation is to enjoy appetizers on the patio before moving on to nearby location for dinner.

Michelle W.

Yelp
View, drinks, and service was good. Food is over priced and subpar. save your money & go somewhere else to eat.

Diego R.

Yelp
This place was s five star in every way. The service has gone down and so has food quality. The atmosphere is awesome and drinks are great. Seafood is good and you wint be dissapointed. Very reasonable. I will go back.

Kaitlyn C.

Yelp
Amazing views for sunsets! Happy hour ends at 7 and rail drinks are $3. The large salad is more than enough especially with additional protein. The crab cakes were very good and not very breaded like most places. The 1/2lb peel and eat shrimp was a little hard to peel but still good and fresh. I would order a small side salad or fries as a filler for the shrimp. Fries were super crispy and fresh but the ranch was unimpressive, being quite watery and little flavor

TonyMartin M.

Yelp
Food is always good but I go to Vickeries for the Jerk chicken on the bone, and they keep removing it from the menu. Settled for the grilled Tuna salad

Shawndra G.

Yelp
The manager was extremely rude and argued with us about returning an entree item that we said was cold and she insisted that the food was warm and that we would still have to pay for the entree. She continued to argue back and forth with us and this displayed extremely poor customer service. Will not be back and do not recommend anyone to eat there !!

Luci C.

Yelp
I went down to Muddys and I was so impressed. I am the lead host at a restaurant downtown and I can't express how amazed I was with how the service. Jenn is actually unreal, the sweetest, absolutely amazing, she didn't even wait on us and she was so amazing. Breanna made me one of the best drinks I've ever had. She was absolutely lovely. A crew. I've always loved this place and we will be coming back :)

David W.

Yelp
. The meal resembles the quality of Jaws 7. Stay away. Get out of the water. Crab Cake Sandwich

Marisa K.

Yelp
Enjoyed the salmon salad, crab cakes and bread pudding. Undercooked rice.Generous servings of dessert. Attentive service and casual ambience.

B S.

Yelp
First impressions? The place looks like it's fresh out of the 1960s. The whole ambience is tacky. Reminds me of "The Brady Bunch." I sat with the rest of my party, ignoring the fact the chair's cushions were ripped and the table was at a slant. Great. We ordered our food and after waiting for 30 minutes before finally figuring out that our waitress had forgotten to put our food in. Everyone else that came in after us is getting their food and we're sitting there with drinks. The club sandwich wasn't half bad. But honestly, how could you mess up a club? We ordered calamari and it was cold, obviously had been spaced incorrectly in consideration with the rest of the order. One of the members of my party ordered the "Shrimp And Grits." It was disgusting. The grits were cold and had no flavor. The whole dish was underwhelming with a price of $25? Really? They didn't even eat it. Best part, all we got was a half-assed "I'm sorry" and an offer to get something else even though everyone else had already eaten. In few words, one of the worst places I've eaten at in South Carolina. I don't know if we caught them on an off day or if lunch is always this bad but I definitely will NOT be returning.

Levi M.

Yelp
food was ok but the service was bad and the manager was extremely unfriendly. they can't split tabs and they definitely made sure we didn't know until after the dinner was over. go anywhere else!

Michael F.

Yelp
Some of the best food we had in Charleston! Waitress was outstanding! They were busy but we were served in a timely manner! Best tarter sauce I've ever had! Mouton cake is to die for!

Sarah Mackenzie S.

Yelp
It was ok. We both agreed we wished both our meals max more flavor. My crab cake tasted more bland than I expected and not a lot of the cajun remoulade on the sandwich which may have helped the blandness. However, I also think the crab was over cooked some because the most flavor I got was from the fried. The fries were very good though.

Manette E.

Yelp
I ordered the salmon salad without salmon adding blackened shrimp with the mango vinaigrette. It was fabulous! Added the Cuban bread which was great! We sat outside on upper deck watching the boats and dolphins. Definitely will be back the next time I'm in SC.

Ed K.

Yelp
Great food and view outside overlooking Shem Creek. Had the salmon BLT - it was amazing.

Hunter K.

Yelp
Ventured out to Shem Crick to start the weekend. Started at the best view on the crick for the sunset at the Sharkfin bar. Then made my way inside where Brenna (the curator of good vibes) and Cricket were a true pleasure. Despite the lack of A/C, It was still super lively. Eventually made my way downstairs to the Muddys bar. Bailey and co were super fun- despite the weird reggae guy playing what seemed like music off his phone. (I miss Jacob and his dope live music curation)! ... Ended up leaving once it turned into youngins bar, and all the regulars left. (The true regulars are a fun bunch) However was super impressed with Bailey and Johnathan- as their experience shined and whoever was on aux kept me around. This bar and grill was my favorite post Covid spot for its homey, divey, comfortable, and laid back beachy vibe. Im posting this review to let everyone know that Vickerys seems to be getting back to their "best locals bar on Shem Creek" roots . Can't wait to see what the rest of the summer has to offer.

Yelp
Vickery's has been my favorite restaurant on Shem Creek for years. But they recently were bought by the new owners of The Waters Edge. My husband, adult daughter, and I went there this week for lunch. I hate to say that the new owners have changed the menu, taken things off, and raised the prices for all entrees. I started with my favorite appetizers of fried green tomatoes, but they no longer serve crawdad tails. I then ordered my favorite fried shrimp platter, with a side salad. I missed the hush puppies, which is a staple with any seafood entree. The fried green tomatoes were sliced too thick and did not taste well. The shrimp was breaded too much to make the shrimp look bigger. The only thing that remained the same was the side salad, but I would hope they could not ruin a simple side salad. My husband's food was just as bad as mine, as well as my daughters. The service was still great, but for 3 people to eat lunch, along with two cocktail drinks for just 2 of us, I was not expecting the food and cocktails to be over $196.00, with a tip. I have always recommended Vickery's to all my friends from out of town. But I will never recommend Vickery's to anyone who is looking to have a nice lunch or dinner on Shem Creek at a reasonable price. I am sorry to say that I will never visit this establishment again. I have lived here in Mount Pleasant my entire life and have always enjoyed eating on the Creek. But whoever bought this establishment, should never have changed the menu and tripled the prices. This is one local who has always enjoyed the food and ambiance of eating at Vickery's on Shem Creek at reasonable prices, but I can not pay for the poor quality food and the overpriced meals.

Yelp
Not impressed by this bar. We arrived around 9:30pm and was told that the kitchen was closed. Okay so we sat at a table around the bar for drinks. We were told to go up to the bartender to order our drinks so we did. While ordering our drinks, we saw several people who were sitting at the bar ordering food (And we saw them getting their food 20min later)!! We liked our drinks, it was very good. We had one drink each and decided that we want to go get food. So when our Uber is 10min away, we went to close our tan. The bartenders ignored us! One bartender took shots with someone across the room and chatted with them for a while. The other bartender ignore us and helped someone else at the other end of the bar. I finally spoke up and it still took them a minute to get to us. We had our credit cards in hand showing we are just there to pay. We almost missed our Uber because of the wait. The booth we sat in was very tight.
