Vicky Bakery Review - Hialeah - Miami - The Infatuation

"Vicky Bakery is a Miami institution for Cuban baked goods. Although there are a bunch of locations across Dade County, this one in East Hialeah is our favorite. They have anything you could ever want from a Cuban bakery, plus some extras. The pastelitos are basically the textbook definition— oozing with guava, perfectly sweet, and toasted just right. For those of you who have PSL season alerts on your calendar, Vicky makes a pumpkin y queso pastelito that will make you want to wear flannel even if it’s 95 degrees outside. They also have an impressive variety of cakes and party platters if you’re ever in a bind for that work party you forgot about. Or if you just feel like having 50 mini croquetas for lunch." - Yuliet Llanes

Love this place. Service was fantastic along with the food. Could not believe the low price for what we got. Love the family atmosphere. Next time we are back for a cruise, we will definitely stop by. Definitely recommend this bakery

Google
Great bakery! This bakery actually serves good at *normal* prices..staff is AMAZINGLY FRIENDLY and courteous... No wonder they are always full of customers.. Super clean tooo

Google
Nice bakery nice atmosphere. My really only complaint is the coffee. I've been there a handful of times and honestly the coffee tastes like dookie not enough sugar or an over barring bitter taste like if it's ough medicine. Been to plenty of bakeries locally and this bakery coffee is the worst of them all. Please fix the nasty coffee so I can keep coming to Vicky's bakery.

I was planning a party for my family and a friend of mine recommended me this place. I must said that it was perfect catering. The cake was delicious and fresh. The rest was all so good. There’s nothing left!!! This is already my preferred catering service. I recommend it so well. Believe me, if you are having a party don’t stress out, just call and they will take care of it of everything.

Google
Their pastelitos are the best in Miami. They offer trays of varied pastelitos so you can have a taste of all the varieties. I love them!

Google
Yaimee is always so cheerful and so helpful! I only go to one bakery close to my house but now I have two! It’s close to my job and they make everything so quickly. Service is super importante to me and Yamiee always make its worth it! Thank you Karla Bakery!

Google
Bethany Frankel just gave you a rave review on the Cuban coffee!! Can't wait to try it. Hope you saw her post!!

Google
Stoped by and picked up a box full of delicious pastries and original Cuban sandwich to take back home with me to Alabama. Plenty of options to choice from and very nice staff to help with your ordering. Most of the staff does not speak any English so may have a little difficulty ordering at first.

Yelp
$7 and change. Box of pastries and double cuban coffee. Strip mall bakery (think gringo donut shop). A few small tables in an open and vanilla space. No one spoke English. Didn't feel like using g- translator. Went for the experience.dis a point and nod. Service was on point. Pastries were delicious. Meat. Guava. Cream. Eclare. Everything was good. Not bad, not great. Good reference point. I'd go again. Funny side note: cashier was ringing me up, the server lady presented me the open box. I said to the server lady "beautiful". The cashier smiled and looked at the woman. The woman who presented me the box smiled, blushed and looked down. Lost in translation for sure, but i didn't mind. Lol.

Yelp
I placed an order with this bakery as I often do or go in person the majority of the time. My order specifically said croqueta and cangrejito only I knew I might have to pay more but I didn't mind When I got to my destination as it was for a work breakfast they gave me pastelitos de carne instead of cangrejito and I was really disappointed as this is what some of us wanted here. It's my fault for not checking the order before I left but it's also frustrating that you pay for something that you didn't order. I know things are hectic but people need to be more careful

Yelp
Craving a taste of authentic Miami? this place captures the Cuban culture from freshly baked pastelitos to creamy cafecitos, or a bold cortadito, you simply can't go wrong here :) This location located on a strip mall at the Flagami neighborhood, on the intersection of Douglas Rd & Flagler Street, Bonus: there's plenty of easy free parking (highly appreciate in the busy city of Miami). sometime might get a little hectic but be patient on the parking manuover. Now, going back to business: Once inside, it's all about indulgence. The space is bright, clean, staff handles well the daily rush. Friendly staff willing to help you on picking your favorites. Quality is consistent as found on their other stores in the city. My order: A box of Cuban pastelitos (beef & guava) crispy and flaky on the outside, with a savory filling that melts in your mouth, paired with a cuban cafecito, strong, sweet, and totally energizing. Pure happiness. My not so positive note is that they close at 6pm, going close to that time will expose you to a rush service vibe that might affect your overall experience, so try to go at least half an hour before closing time Whether you're a regular or a first-timer, Vicky captures the unique Miami soul.

Yelp
I stopped by here to pick 2 croissants. The place was packed but nobody had any food on hand. You have to take a number to be served but they put the numbers behind the front door. So unless you have been there and know to take a number, nobody greets you or says anything. After standing around for 15 mins, I am asking why it's taking so long to get help and NOBODY SPEAKS ENGLISH to tell you their credit card machine is down. When I ask, they all act like they are oblivious to life. Needless to say I walked out. I will never step foot in any Vicky Bakery as they are most run by idiots with zero customer service.
google avatar

Idania B.

Yelp
They attend people by number but the placement of the machine is next to the door so it's behind the customer when they walk and there is no sign or employee telling guests to get a number. We came on Sunday morning and it wasn't too busy but they took about 10 minutes to call our number. They definitely need more employees. The food was excellent but the speed and quality of service really lets this place down.

Yelp
As expected, never got anything at any Vicky that wasnt on the money. This was no different. Convenient and reasonably priced. GO!
google avatar

Yelp
The best Pan de bono & fresh OJ!! Packed on the weekends. As others have mentioned service is spotty but not enough to keep me away from the Pan de bono. Various pastries, cakes, empanadas.

Maricela R.

Yelp
Customer service bad, pastries good. I was given attitude for not taking a number, am sorry why would u put the number thing at the entrance instead of the counter. For a first timer how am I supposed to know I need to take one I pass right by it didn't even see it.

Yelp
This is the worse bakery ever. Vicky bakery has been around forever but this location is the worse! Bought some "cangrejitos" today, they don't sell them individually so you have to buy the box of 8. That was fine they are party size, however when I got home they poured syrup all over them and they were drenched! I've never seen that before in my life. I also purchased a pack of six "bocaditos" (small sandwiches made w spread inside). When I got home and after eating 2, I noticed the bread was moldy on the rest!!! I will never go to this place again and do not recommend it!

Marivic N.

Yelp
Went on. Saturday and there was plenty of parking. There was a bit of a wait but we definitely beat the rush because by the time we left the line was by the door. Make sure you grab a number right when you walk in and browse the pastries. The place was clean inside and the people was friendly. Be forewarned, knowing a little bit of Spanish may make your visit more easier but regardless it is worth checking out. Our pastries, the bistec and guava were delicious!
google avatar

Shirley F.

Yelp
Been here a few times. Usually on the weekends. Service is typically fast for the amount of traffic that comes in and out the store. Everyone has been polite so far. Love their coffee and meat pastelitos. They also have some good Cuban toast

Yelp
E X P E R I E N C E We came on a sat at 815am and there was already a line of 7 people in front of us. Make sure you grab a number when you walk in. As we were waiting for our number to be called, there were probably 10 other pe of people that came in. A steady flow for sure. 3 ladies were working quickly to tend to everyones orders. Polite and friendly. (Esp to people like us, from out of town, and not too familiar w cuban food) I N T E R I O R clean. Organized. Well lit. I N F E C T I O N P R E V E N T I O N there's hand sanitizer right when you walk in. There are also circular markers on the ground to help guide a 6 ft distance for customers. F O O D 2 Guava cheese pastries 1 beef and cheese pastry 1 empanada, chorizo All the pastries had a beautiful flaky skin but the filling is so minimal.. you could barely taste much of the guava/cheese/ meat. Basically I was just eating breading. For the best guava cheese pastries, I'd rec porto's in california. The empanada exterior did not taste good. It was not fried well and was v thick. The meat was pretty good. For amazing empanadas, I'd rec latin cafe 2000 just 5-10 mins away. Honestly, a bit of a let down bc our friend who lives here, recommended it, the reviews were soo promising and when we arrived there were quite a few people ordering. P R I C E 5.40+ 1 tip = $6.4

Yelp
I ordered custom cookies with a logo printed on them and they came out better than I imagined and tasted delicious! They were all very attentive and kind. Their bakery items are delicious and I love their cafe con leche.

Yelp
Great place for Cuban pastries!the pastelitos are always delicious and fresh! The best place in Miami
google avatar

Viviana V.

Yelp
Great food no matter what you eat. Great pastries no matter what you try. Great customer service. Great atmosphere. Good vibes all around.

Ana N.

Yelp
Food is good and the bakery is nice. There is not much ambiance to look forward to since it is a togo bakery with a few tables. The service is quick and friendly. Would definitely keep going

Dian R.

Yelp
This places is selling OLD food. Stay away from it if you do not want to get stomachache

Yelp
Thank you Vicky Bakery! We stopped by to get a few take out trays to take to our business meeting and they helped us out right away with no wait despite it being mid morning. Fast, easy and delicious. We got a mixed tray of Cuban specialties. The croquettes were so flavorful! I also very much enjoyed the guava pastry. They also suggested a ham and cheese sandwich platter with Cuban bread. YUM. Everyone loved the items and wanted to know more about the bakery. We will definitely be back! Thanks again Vicky Bakery!

Yelp
siempre tienen un maja. no les importa cuantos clientes hayan. y nadie sabe nada. slack aa fugg always, they don't care how many clients are there. no one knows anything and it's always the same crap.
google avatar

Luis V.

Yelp
If you're a college student in a rush, it's a good choice. Definitely enroll in the rewards if you plan on coming often, as it gets a bit pricey.
google avatar

Deby V.

Yelp
Great spot for some breakfast pastelitos and Cuban cafecito! The beef empanadas here are a must and i always get their cheese tequenos, guava pastries and cookies, all super delicious. The staff here is nice and quick! Definitely recommend to anyone who wants some Cuban pastries/desserts, a quick breakfast or some morning coffee!

Yelp
I don't relish leaving bad reviews on a Cuban institution, but after the same bad experiences I have to say it: Vickys is over. Ya no vale la pena. It always busy which is good, but my order has been lost to the shuffle numerous times resulting in cold prepared food with congealed everything by the time I get it. Now I i don't live so far away that it has enough time to get this way. For example today my order was sitting on the counter for no less than 10 minutes, subsequently my fries were inedible and completely sogged through. My eggs were supposed to be sunny but so much time had passed that they solidified and the bread was toasted but so cold that we had to reheat it up. This is not the point of going out to get breakfast, this isn't a cheap breakfast anymore- yet they treat their customers that way. The orange juice used to be the star of the show but lately it tastes off as if they're combining store bought with natural. I can't confirm this but the taste differs so much I can't help but think it's true. It's just not worth it anymore, I rather go to Publix. It's just as pricey but at least the food is warm.

Yelp
Cuban bakeries - gotta love 'em. Vicky Bakery has been around forever. Heck, the original one is in Hialeah and it's massive! Growing up in those parts and comparing that Vicky to this Vicky, well... it's ridiculously underwhelming. This location is small and it shares its parking lot with a bunch of other businesses, including my favorite nail salon. Shout out to PT Nails - anyway... Stopped in yesterday morning as I was in zombie mode and consequently in desperate need for coffee. The lady who attended me was very nice, this location is super clean, and honestly my two complaints are size and price. Seriously people, $10 for two large café con leche, two empanadas, and flan cheesecake? I could easily get this quality for cheaper in Hialeah, but oh well. My coworker and I still ate everything and we were satisfied. Sigh, I so think I am becoming my mother with these nitpicking habits; disregard me while I go back to daydreaming about pastelitos.
google avatar

Madeline M.

Yelp
Employees have a horrible attitude. If they hate working so much - cuba is still there. I can say it being a Cuban immigrant. 5 minutes before closing time, the employee refused to serve me. I told her to lock the door. She said she can't because she has to close the door at 6 pm but still refuses to serve customers. She told me I can get coffee and pastelitos at sédanos. Here is the catch, if the owners don't make money / they can't pay her.
google avatar

Michelle L.

Yelp
My favorite of the Vicky bakery locations. Their ham croquettes de la casa (house) are the best. The pastries and desserts are all so fresh and delicious. Service is always quick and prompt. I'm speaking for the 8 am morning crew. Keep up the good work!
google avatar

Danielle R.

Yelp
Wondered in to this place for a drink and decided to try a couple different things. Very nice layout, tons of things to choose from, clean and friendly service! I tried the beef empanada (delish!) the fresh squeezed OJ (honestly, probably the best I've ever had) the dessert were very good too! I definitely recommend checking out this bakery!
google avatar

Yelp
Cuban Bakeries. A staple here in Miami and what's not to love? Croquetas, empanadas, sandwiches and of course cafecito. I've visited plenty of Vicky Bakeries before but this one just falls short. The quality of the food is inconsistent here. I can forgive a dry empanada, or a breakfast sandwich with non-melted cheese. I understand, eso pasa. It's the service here that makes this location meh. I took my out-of-state friend here to show off Cuban treats and the ladies behind the counter were just so unwelcoming. And recently, I went for breakfast - same thing. I sat outside on the patio and the wind had the umbrellas continuously falling (onto people's cars, may I add). The team didn't really seem to care and did not have the best attitude when I let them know. Hopefully the folks at Vicky Bakery can up their service game, because I do love their croquetas! The location itself is pretty convenient with plenty of street parking around.
google avatar

Dani F.

Yelp
Everything on their menu now has 85% cheese 15% stuffing. It's happened to me at both of their locations when items used to be amazing and then all of the sudden recipes change to maximize profit

Jesse B.

Yelp
Excellent food, great service, cute little place for a morning snack. Substantial breakfast, lunch, and dessert options!
google avatar

JC Z.

Yelp
Slow service every time I come. Staff is not efficient. They have 10 employees running around and not focusing on customers.
google avatar

Sb S.

Yelp
Made an order online, got a notification it was ready. When I got there nobody even looks up to see if I need help and there was a long line. I go to the side counter because I saw my order sitting in a bag. I ask another lady if she can help me she ignored me and didn't even look at me. Then when I went to grab my bag (which was paid foralready) then another lady grabs the bag back and says she'll help me once she's done, mind you with a long cake order she was taking from another customer. What's the point of ordering ahead if you can't just pick it up and go?
google avatar

Evelyn B.

Yelp
In this bakery you will find so much to choose from. Anything that you could think of that a bakery has they have it. I actually place an order to go for a cafe con leche(latte), croissant with ham and cheese & ham croquettes. The croissant was so so delicious and the ham croquettes were good too. The cafe con leche was exactly how I asked her to make it. The place is nice and neat and the customer service is just great. I will definitely recommend it and will be coming back.

Kim E.

Yelp
Rude server I told her I wanted a croissant with only eggs and she gave me egg and ham and cheese then I brought it back and she gave me an attitude with the rest of the employees when I clearly told her no ham or cheese they all looked at me like an idiot and made sure that all the customers heard them telling me I was wrong never again and I do like the chain but definitely not going to this one
google avatar

Jonathan B.

Yelp
Service here sucks, everything is burned and dry. Plus they don't know how to put in the orders right, I've been waiting 30 minutes for the food to be right. They also wouldn't give us our money back. I would never ever ever recommend this place to anyone ever.
google avatar

Christina M.

Yelp
I've grown up in south Florida and I'm back visiting from California. One of my first stops is always Vicky Bakery! This one is the best around. The location is always super clean and they have the best selection. All the pastries are always so fresh. The staff is also always super friendly and fast. The owner always has a smile on her face. You can tell she loves her customers. Teuquños and café con leche are always my go tos Thanks guys for helping make my visit even more special!
google avatar

Alex T.

Yelp
google avatar

Sheyla G.

Yelp
Wow, this is a party in your mouth and your house kind of place. From the tasty treats to the delicious cakes to the very nice staff it's a real treat coming here. The party is on. Cake pics coming shortly. Stay tuned. Party theme is Jojo Siwa. My niece is going to love it the croquetas are to die for. Yum yum
google avatar

Odalys V.

Yelp
The worst place to go... coffee is horrendous, Cuban pastelitos half way guayaba, but what got into my nerves was that I bought a plater of panecitos con pasta and they took it out of the fridge, the bread was old & hard, it went directly to the garbage. Every single time my hobby stopped by for cheese croquetas they gave him chicken croquetas . The owner always has bad actitud, that old cranky lady thinks that hole in wall is priceless but what she doesn't know is that place huele a miseria. I know many people that share my opinion: very low quality after February 2020 Los 4 dulces q tienen ahí son viejos, las dependientas no tienen clase ni educación, le hacen honor a la dueña q es una señora súper duper mal educada.

Lucy V.

Yelp
Came to get some pastries everything was fresh and tastes so good . Despite the heavy traffic of people ordering the service was organized and fast . Huge variety of cakes , platters , sandwiches , and pastries . Def recommend !!!
google avatar

Jessica G.

Yelp
Thank you so much for making the tres leche and the pastelitos! We see all the love you put into it!! Everyone here at Miami Beach Fire Station 2 are very grateful. God Bless!! Happy Thanksgiving!! Great service!
google avatar

Luis P.

Yelp
Perfect example of Miami pastries. This place is amazing, you can't beat the prices or the friendliness of the staff. Please don't show up blazed, it just makes it harder for your brain to process all of the savory and sweet delights and you might get stuck. Don't say i didn't warn you. If you're looking for something to bring back from your Miami trip you should definitely make a stop here. They have a great selection of croquetas!!

Jeidy M.

Yelp
I was very disappointed since the drivers ate my fries while delivery. It was reported to the Vicky Bakery about the eaten fries. It has not been the first time it happened previously by the drivers but none decided to report the case.

Yelp
I ordered my friends Bachelorette Cake from this location. I thought since a was across the street to my house and new that it would be easier. I have to say it was amazing! All 15 girls loved it! I was sticking to a budget and the girls from the bakery really helped me out. They ALL knew which one was my cake lol the service was outstanding! The cake was originally fondant but to save some money the girls suggested icing and to be honest you couldn't tell the difference They did such an amazing job! Also the filling had me worried for a minute or two just because I had picked the house custard but I was wrong; It was simply AMAZING! I had picked the smallest cake to feed 25 people but in reality it fed over 75! Over all I couldn't be happier with my experience and I so glad I picked Vicky Bakery!
google avatar

Cynthia Q.

Yelp
This place is good, just never buy a Pumpkin Pie here. It's packged for you in a large box and looks beautiful with the whip they decorate it with, however It's too flat and leaves much to be desired. For the price it wasn't worth it but you can't tell it's flat until you take it home so it felt like a huge rip off. Cafecito and other pastries? Go for it.
google avatar

Julianne R.

Yelp
Everyone is always so nice and upbeat. The food is always fresh and delicious. My favorite things on the menu are freshly squeezed orange juice, the guava and cheese pastelitos and the ham and cheese croissant. Oh and I can't forget the coffee! I live pretty far from this location but it's worth the drive. The picture attached is my daughter enjoying lunch at Vickys.
google avatar

Shavelli C.

Yelp
Ordered delivery through Yelp, received it two hours later, & obviously it was cold, soggy, & I just threw it out.
google avatar

Cindy L.

Yelp
Ordered Vicky through UberEats! I was majorly craving a guava pastelito and a ham croquette. Yummmmmmmm. Pregnancy cravings. I also threw in a media noche sandwich bc why not? Everything was delicious and got to me really fast. I am just bummed I didn't order more pastelitos because they were oh so delicious. I hope and pray for a location to open closer to brickell. I love Vicky bakery!!!

Melisa M.

Yelp
This is what they call a meat pastry. Flaky dough with less than one mouthful of meat. TERRIBLE! The empanadas are more dough and less meat the quality of the food has seriously Diminished.
