The 5 Best Cuban Bakeries In Hialeah - Miami - The Infatuation

"Vicky Bakery is a Miami institution for Cuban baked goods. Although there are a bunch of locations across Dade County, this one in East Hialeah is our favorite. They have anything you could ever want from a Cuban bakery, plus some extras. The pastelitos are basically the textbook definition— oozing with guava, perfectly sweet, and toasted just right. For those of you who have PSL season alerts on your calendar, Vicky makes a pumpkin y queso pastelito that will make you want to wear flannel even if it’s 95 degrees outside. They also have an impressive variety of cakes and party platters if you’re ever in a bind for that work party you forgot about. Or if you just feel like having 50 mini croquetas for lunch." - Yuliet Llanes

First time visiting was around Christmas time. It was beautifully set up! I was quite impressed. We visit quite often now to have something small for breakfast. ❤️

Google
Wonderful bakery. Fresh sandwiches, love the pastry. The service was very amicable and was fast. Great place for a pastelito de guayaba o queso 😋

Local Guide

Google
Great pastries and cheap in comparison to all the bakery’s in Miami. The toast is great which believe it or not I’ve had bad toast and they’re hard and try. They gave the best bread and with the right amount of butter. When I’m in Hialeah going to my fiancées office I stop by here all the time. Update: Place has been renovated and there’s a restroom fir customers now

Google
Vicky's it's maybe the best deal price wise on pastelitos ,their pastelitos are as good as many other cuban style pastries . Service selection ,freshness ,price give them the edge in my opinion .. Great breakfast had there for cheap.

My husband was in Miami on a business trip for the first time and me, never having been to Miami before either but wanting to have a little taste of it, googled places nearby the hotel to have pastries. This place popped up so I had the husband bring it back allll the way to Montana. IT IS SOOOO GOOD

Google
I asked for a cafe con leche with little bit of sugar and the lady gave it to me super sugary. She was nice and all but the lady that gave me back my change was rude. I was on my phone so I didn’t realize she was giving me back change. She said “hello” in a nasty loud manner. Just left a terrible experience. The place is really clean….

Google
The ORIGINAL Vicky Bakery never disappoints. I've gone to this particular one since it opened in the early 70's and now travel 50 minutes from Palm Beach County to savor all the favorites from my childhood in Hialeah. Que riquisimo es! 😋

Pan con bistec always served and the pastels are of course fresh.

Yelp
Okay, full confession: I've been sleeping on Vicky Bakery. Like, deep REM cycle. But not anymore. I finally came to my senses (and my taste buds), and now I see the light... and it tastes like flaky pastelitos and strong Cuban coffee. I brought my out-of-town cousins from North Carolina here, and let me just say--they may or may not be looking at Miami real estate now. That's the kind of effect this place has. Let's start with the Cuban Breakfast Sandwich: it's not just a sandwich--it's a full-blown commitment. Massive, flavorful, and stacked with enough protein to fuel a small army. Honestly, it could feed three people--or one very determined Floridian. Then there's the Palomilla and Eggs breakfast sandwich. Oh. My. Dios. The combo of juicy steak and fluffy eggs hugged by that perfect Cuban bread? Chef's kiss. Vicky's recent remodel gave it a glow-up, and it shows. The vibe is casual and clean with small tables if you want to sit, people-watch, and enjoy your life decisions. The place is always buzzing, but the staff is on it. The line moves like they've trained for the Olympics--fast, efficient, and with style. And don't even get me started on the fresh-squeezed orange juice. It's like sunshine in a cup. Pair it with a café con leche and a few pastelitos, and you've basically unlocked the secret to happiness. Affordable, delicious, and full of Cuban soul--Vicky Bakery is officially in my breakfast rotation. Sleep on it if you want... but you'll be missing out.

Yelp
This is "THE ORIGINAL" Vicky Bakery! With that being said my expectations were kind of high given that I've been to many Vicky's Bakery locations and mostly have had nothing but great experiences. Yet unfortunately this visit did not live up to the expectations. Wife and I got an assortment of pastries including Guava and Cheese, Cheese, Meat, and Pan de Bono. The Guava and Cheese was bland and the pastry was over cooked. Same with the Cheese only pastry. The meat filling in the meat pastry was also bland and very mushy. The best of the bunch was the Pan de Bono. And I'm unsure if that was done in house or not. Overall I love Vicky's but this was not their best. Anyone can have an off day so I'll look to give them another shot again but unfortunately today did not live up to "THE ORIGINAL" tag line.

Yelp
Five stars. I'm sitting in my car outside this place and needed to drop this review in an effort to make it as hot and fresh as their coffee and pastries. So you're thinking; South Florida on a Saturday at lunch time. Was it busy? Yeah, understandable. Clean interior with smaller side tables to enjoy your sweet or savory treats indoors. Did it take forever? Nope. Super fast suoer fried my bilingual staff. Also, let's talk about their decorative cakes. They have them and they're awesome. I didn't expect a Winnie the Pooh quote to make me ponder like that, but before I could ponder the philosophy my coffee was ready. Tip: Order everything and enjoy eating it. Calories don't doubt from November 1st through January 1st.

Yelp
Great local bakery. I've been coming here since I was little . Love the place !! Though during the mornings, the lines are long the service is fast

Yelp
I'm very been to this place a few times. The current girlfriend loves it. She says something about the coffee. I hate this place. The people are rude, both employees and customers. The food is terrible. The last time I was here, I got two chocolate donuts. They were not fresh at all. The chocolate was brittle and changing the color to grey. The donut itself was rock hard. These had to be several days old.

Yelp

Yelp
This bakery was outstanding! The food was amazing and the staff was very accommodating!

Yelp
I've been enjoying goodies from Vicky Bakery at this location since I was a little girl. I have fond memories of stopping by and picking up delicious meat, guava and cream cheese pastries on our way to the beach and enjoying these delights throughout the day. I also have countless memories as a teenager stopping by with a group of friends and eating different treats at this particular location. Now-a-days, I live far from this Vicky Bakery but I always make it a point to stop and get a delicious meat and guava pastry whenever I'm near the area. I love their fresh Orange juice as well. The staff here is always kind and attentive. I will definitely be back soon for more delights! Pro tip: take a number when you walk in Fromm little dispenser because they will call your number when it's your turn.

Yelp
Food quality needs to improve. Waited a while for a pan con bistec that had no flavor. The bread wasn't good, it wasn't fresh. I ordered a beef empanada and a guava pastry. The empanada was cold, the pastry was ok. Definitely wouldn't consider having lunch here again. For a bakery that's been around for a long time, it was disappointing.

Yelp
One of the original Vicky Bakery's. The original owners are still there! Exceptional service! This is the Family owned business that has carved its sweet tooth into the heart of Miami. When you walk in, you get a true sensation of heritage, culture, and family. I love the feeling I have when I walk into this location. My earliest memories as a true Hialeah native is accompanying my dad on Saturday morning to buy fresh Cuban bread, a box of pastelitos de guayaba, croquetas, and their special croissant sandwiches. Every single birthday party, holiday event, or church event was catered by Vicky Bakery. There is not a single family party where we don't have Vicky's. Be it Thanksgiving day, Christmas, Mother's Day, Father's Day, 4th of July, bridal showers, WEDDINGS, and even funerals... we need our Vicky's. Thank you so much, dear Vicky's team, for all the sweet memories and all that are to come!

Yelp
This place is amazing! Very clean and comfortable. Super nice employees. So many choices. Croqueta preparada sandwich was so delicious. Quesitos were amazing. So happy to welcome Vicky to Winter Park Florida soon!!

Lisi P.

Yelp
They say that they're open early, but they don't answer their phone. There's a recording saying they are closed. Sad
google avatar

Yelp
Best pastries! One of the oldest bakeries in Miami. I have been coming here. Since 1988 and always the same and the quality is great! The service and the quality are amazing!Bocaditos
google avatar

Susy T.

Yelp
Great food a bit expensive though. Love their pan con lechón. I can only eat half and take the other half for dinner.
google avatar

Cristian G.

Yelp
This is a Miami staple, Cuban bakeries don't get any more authentic than Vicky's. Some of my favorites besides cafe con leche with a buttered tostada are the cheese pastries, rice pudding, and croquetas. For a larger breakfast meal I recommend their sandwiches which you can get with as a meal which include cafe con leche. The place does get busy, but they have a ticket system which ensures you'll be in and out of there as quickly as possible.
google avatar

Jazmin H.

Yelp
There are various Vicky Bakery locations, but none as good as this particular one. Rest assured that your pastelitos, croquetas, and empanadas will always be fresh. Pastelito Party platters are usually available upon "walk-in". But calling in ahead of time is strongly recommended as they may at times sell out. Croqueta party platters are seldomly available as a walk-in, but they will pack a fresh batch for you in just a few minutes. The only difficulty here is having your call answered; it will take a couple of tries.

Yelp
Vicky Bakery was a staple for me years ago when I lived in Miami. Way back then (1980's), we'd have cafecitos y pan for breakfast or on breaks when we could sneak away. As fondly as these memories are held, they are pale ghosts of the bustling business Vicky's is now. When we arrived, the place was packed with humans. No distress through, the servers ran through numbers quickly and efficiently, all while giving giving each customer individualized, personal service. Since I've relocated to another state, a few dozen pasteles for my expatriate family was the least to do for them. For me, a pan con tortilla, tostada y colada was my breakfast for the road. However given the flaky nature of Cuban bread, it might not have been the best plan. The challenge of brushing off my long unused Spanglish made me and my server grin, but when the reward was a warm smile and a hot breakfast it was all worth it. There are more than a dozen Vicky bakeries now, so you should go and as soon as possible.

Yelp
When I'm in Miami one of my first stops is Vicky Bakery for the required croquetas y pastelitos. The guava is to die for and the pastellitos de carne are amazing BUT the total killer is the pizza pastel OMG !!!!

This unbelievable L.

Yelp
So it shows that they're open until 7 PM Monday through Friday. We showed up on Wednesday around 6:45 and they were already cleaning up even though doors were still open , There was no food available and when we walked in, they didn't even acknowledge us. They just kept cleaning. So if they close at 7 PM, that was a good 15 minutes that they could've still taken care of customers and done their cleaning after 7 PM just like all other businesses do.We ended up going to a nearby bakery instead that was actually open.
google avatar

Yelp
5 palabras. Cafe con leche y pastelitos. Sooo good. This is our sunday (when Enriqueta's is closed) UberEats delivery order. My husband loves the croquetas as well. The prices are amazing. I will be coming back again and again.
google avatar

Bill W.

Yelp
Old-school Cuban bakery. They make perfect Cuban and midnight sandwiches, pastries, pies, cakes, and more. I usually just stop in for a midnight and some croquetas... but this is really popular for birthday cakes too, although I've never had one, I have tasted their smaller baked goods. Excellent. The Cuban bread is always fresh! They also make really good breakfast sandwiches, but expect a bit of a line (take a number) in the morning. They make everything in-house, unlike some smaller bakeries. Everything's to-go here.
google avatar

Raul M.

Yelp
...nothing like the original. I had forgotten that it all started near the train tracks and just beyond la "cuarenta y dos" or "la ocho del east". Then again, life was much simpler back then when it was all Hialeah, fango, y factoria... The original Vicky Bakery started by the Cao family still stands as a reminder of the good ol' days when pastelitos were a treat and a specialty to be found in select locations in South Florida run by enterprising Cuban bakers with an eye for art as well as flavor. Getting the pastelito right is all about timing. Leave it in too long and it dries up and burns, take it our too soon, and it is a doughy mess. The ones made at this Vicky Bakery border on heavenly perfection. A handy snack or perfect breakfast for those on the go professionals rushing from deal to deal, these hand-sized, filled pastries will have even the gringos speaking Spanish in minutes. Whether you're a guayaba guy, a carne senorita, or a coco abuelita, there's a smile in every bite. Pair it with a cortadito or a cafe con leche and you'll be singing Guantanamera on your way to work. Pro Tip: Always get three of carne, guayaba, and guayaba y queso. Porque No? SYOY!!
google avatar

Meghan W.

Yelp
Everything we ordered was flavorful and delicious! We took many treats to go and also had a Cubano and a Colada. Loved everything we ordered - fresh, sweet, and flaky!
google avatar

Yelp
Vicky bakery is hialeah. The best of the best. I can't believe I haven't rated it til just now. It is impossible for me to kNow how many times I have been to vickys in my lifetime. It's definitely a must to stop by atleast once a week.

Maritza F.

Yelp
I was there today with my so, asked the lady about the rewards program, I showed her the picture and information of my points and she said she didn't know about, she also mentioned another person had the rewards program too, so I told her How can you offered the rewards program and you know nothing about it, she said Today I m going to ask the Manager Second thing we bought a tray with the small pastelitos, the variety one, the cashiers gave us the wrong changed good thing my son counted the money and Finally when we get home we got the wrong thing, she gave us pastelitos de guayaba only Not the mix one.
google avatar

William M.

Yelp
Pastelito flavors were good but they haven't fixed the display case in years everything is cold and cold pastelitos suck!!!

Frank L.

Yelp
Been here a lot. Never good service. You have a number, so what. Ordered pastries guava and cheese. I got coconut. Tasty but not what I asked for. Croquettes where next . I still don't know what flavor they where. Not ham. Chicken maybe. Maybe the next time.

Yelp
The desserts are the BEST! I like this location. I ordered from another Hialeah location a very large cross cake for a first communion ages ago & it was beautiful, I LOVE MERENGUE, but it was inedible because they forgot the sweet liquid soak for the cake. It was like sawdust. I was so embarrassed & sad at my son's party which had lots of guests. The cake was over $100. I would never order catering from any of their locations because it was so terrible, but I extremely enjoy their individual bakery items from their display case. Those are the BEST & worth a 4 hour drive. The bread is really good and can't be found in Central Florida, nothing like it. I have not ordered the frozen bake at home dough yet. The soaked cappuccino desserts have been great for 50 years, that's how long I've been eating them. I think they might've catered my Quinces 15 party which had a gorgeous & delicious big doll cake. The merengue roses are incredible, and they didn't forget the sweet liquid soak that time. Growing up, their bocaditos & croquettes trays were great. They severely messed up that cross cake, really terrible & dry without the soak. AWFUL... they're still my favorite bakery, just beware of catering, try the food first before serving it in case they rushed or forgot an important step. They have Materva soda. We would order one to enjoy with our treats. The pizza pastelitos are really interesting, lots of fun food & flavors.
google avatar

Yelp
This Vicky is the very Best! Hands down! Most fresh guava loaded pastries all around! Elephant ears -in Spanish Palmeras :) and the fresh squeezed orange juice. The selection of pastries is excellent! And, open early for the early morning Café con Leche (coffee & milk) commute. The personnel have been there for 20 years! A saw a few new faces this most recent trip. Thank you! for making the pastelitos with so much guava inside!
google avatar

Alexa C.

Yelp
Hialeah Fo' Lyf One of the major bakeries in Miami, Vicky Bakery stays relevant because they've literally perfected the pastelito de queso with the perfect amount of crunch, glaze, filling, and dough. Even though I'd never order one of those ridiculous Spider-Man cakes displayed in their window, I still like to see the option is available. Catering to the majority of East Hialeah, the pastelito and cafecito turnover here is stealthy and for a reason. I'm talking empanadas, señoritas, flan, and those heavenly morsels referred to as pastelito de carnes flow all throughout the day. Please speak Spanish I'd expected to be attended but if you made it to east Hialeah then chances are your Cuban and in need of a treat. Croquetas are the original Cuban protein bar so aliméntate and get a few to go.
google avatar

Annette B.

Yelp
True Cuban bakery experience, however make sure you got plenty of time for the experience. The service was ok, the pastries were truly Cuban stile however they can take a long time (45 min) to take care of you. I stopped by to pick up for a breakfast at work that I was hosting and I was actually late due to them taking so long.
google avatar

S Alicia S.

Yelp
Vicky Bakery was a great idea for a quick snack. The wait system was that numerical tag. The line went quickly. They didn't carry anything really for my dad's vegetarian appetite, besides like breads, guava pastries, guava cheese pastries and coffees. They make everything fresh every day. The most popular items were meat pastries, cakes, breads, ham & cheese sandwiches and fresh made spreads (chicken & ham). Great prices.
google avatar

Ashley S.

Yelp
Order food through UberEats and received a croissant sandwich with greenish/black stains on the eggs.

Aliosha G.

Yelp
The food is good but the wait is terrible. 4 people in front of me when I arrived. It took 20 min.

Yelp
If you ever in MIAMI AND WANT to feel what true racism feels like . Head over to @Vickybakery located in . So My friend and I walk in she's black American and she wanted to try some Cuban finger food I took her to Vicky bakery because I literally grew up on them . Yooo no lie we walked in it was only us and two people and they all was served and it was like 6 people walking behind the counter not even paying attention to us or trying to not even notice us not one of them asked if "Do you need any help?" Or "how can we help you" yet they provided service to other people . All they did was look at us and I think they thought I didn't speak Spanish however I spoke and I stated "Is someone going to assist us?" They all looked bin a shocked stared and we was the only one who were advised to get a number .. still we got a number and we were left behind the people that came in after us that's when I said "Wow racism is really real and it be my own people" Shame!!!!

Yelp
Best bakery on the planet everything's made fresh best hispanic bakery in miami hands down, have yet to have anything bad in 26 years I been going to it.
google avatar

Yelp
Not a huge fan of the pastries at this location. Dare I say Versailles is a lot yummier
google avatar

Alfred F.

Yelp
This is the original Vicky's (1972) before they began appearing throughout Miami. Great take-out sandwiches, Cuban snacks and bake goods.
google avatar

Sergio F.

Yelp
I remember this place back from when my parents used to get my birthday cakes here. I recently rediscovered it when I took a class at MDC North. They have a small deli section where you can get Cuban sandwiches, Medianoches and my personal favorite Carb and Cholesterol overdose: Panes con Pasta! The only bummer is that the parking lot us verry cramped and theyre only open until 7 weekdays (not sure of their weekend hours)
google avatar

Precious E.

Yelp
This is my favorite Spanish bakery to come to. This one place I miss about Miami. Fresh baked goods, cheap prices and good service

Ana C.

Yelp
I've always heard this was a great bakery... what a disappointment!!! We ordered 2 trays for our work event, that were sold for 50 persons at $50 each. These were 50 small pieces each. Meaning they expect that each person eats 1 item only!!! What a ripoff!!! Never mind that the trays where so greasy we had to remove the under paper and clean it, so it could look presentable and we had to go out and buy more food last minute. The quality was not the best and value was the worse. We will never order from this place again!
google avatar

Daddy And S.

Yelp
the worst of all the vicky bakery, it's the third time I've bought the empanadas fria, the taqueños cold, the dough is hard and burned on the outside. I miss the parking. the faces of some employees would be perfect for a prison or funeral home. I definitely do not visit it anymore ...
google avatar

Jose V.

Yelp
I understand that people in a hurry will complaint. The employees will be with you until your order is ready. The warm stuff will be inside the display/ warmer at a low temperature so add to not overcook everything. One can always ask for their order to be warmed on the microwave. One thing I'm positive about is that their stuff is always fresh! (And Vicky bakery is always involved in charity events) I love their pastries. Thank you Vicky!!!

Rebecca R.

Yelp
The customer service is great! The cake looked exactly how I pictured it. My mother loved it , Awesome for a last minute order. It's beautiful!! TASTE AMAZING!! Thank you

Kirstie A.

Yelp
Thank you Fernandito and Carmen for the delicious and beautiful chocolate mousse graduation cake! With the new traditions of this strange time, you made my virtual graduation feel very special!
google avatar

Nalla R.

Yelp
Love love love! If you are Cuban you already know this is morning breakfast on the weekends. This is what happens when you are raised on croquettas and cafe con leche! So good, can live with out. In case you are not familiar, it's a Spanish bakery that makes cakes, pastelitos, sandwiches and bread.
google avatar

Cindy G.

Yelp
Horrible customer service!! They don't speak English and are rude about it as well. I requested a cup of ice and offered to pay it. They said they didn't have ice but I had just saw them give a cup of ice to a customer in front of me. They gave me attitude after and thought I didn't understand Spanish and started speaking about me. BIG MISTAKE! Don't visit this one!! Love Vicky's Bakery but this one is NOT one to visit!!
