"The restaurant was known for it’s gorgeous patio overlooking the cobblestone street and the Mississippi River in the distance, happy hour specials and. It seems things were going downhill, with an Open Table review from last week saying, “Though we liked our server, the restaurant appeared to be short-staffed.” Another January diner lamented, “Overpriced for food that was received. Fries were cold, hardly any alligator on my sandwich. Wouldn’t recommend!” It is hard to get over getting shorted on gator." - Joy Summers

We had the calamari (not bad, not GREAT) steak Oscar and the ribeye. The mashed potatoes were good, little red potatoes with skins, definitely not from a box like others have said in reviews. Our steaks were perfect, the wine list is very extensive, wait staff was impeccable. The view from the patio was nice but the music was awful. Do we need to listen to 20yr old Jewel songs, especially when others are serenading us with jazz on a saxophone from the street? I don't think so. I don't know if our dinner was worth the price but it was delicious and we had no complaints, besides the bad music.

Table and view on patio were great. Waiter was great except he had to do the bar himself because it wasn't going to be staffed til a bit later. The chicken Caesar wrap was awful. Vic's really should be more proud of what they serve. Very little chicken and what I did get was gross looking and even had some cartilage. Matchstick fries were really good.

We love Vic's.We've walked by many times and stopped in last night. We ate at the bar. Jeff was great. Here's what we liked: had a couple of burgers which were excellent, but it was the wine deal that was the kicker. Vic's sells great wine at cost. The wine is 1/3 the cost of most restaurants. We'll be back.

Great patio, awful food. Terribly overpriced for an unseasoned entree. Steak was nothing special with little flavor, green beans and asparagus were unexciting, the plate itself lacked any sort of creativity. A boring, bland entree that can be easily made at home for 1/4 of the price that would actually taste good. The wine was the best part of the experience which helped to forget about the $40 awful entree.

We held a NYE wedding at Vic's this year and couldn't have asked for a better location, venue, restaurant and staff to work with. Everything ran smoothly, the food and drinks were excellent, the staff was on top of everything and everyone had a great night. We will be back for many happy hours and dinners.

Our daughter and son-in-law hosted their wedding reception at Vic's last weekend. Vic's special event coordinator, Victoria, did an excellent job on food and beverage selections & amounts, and beautiful site setup. Chef Doug's food was so delicious, and key lime pie & carrot cake incredible. Added bonus was total event cost was slightly under our estimated cost. Thanks to Vic's for a fabulous reception!

Food was plane ,no flavors. Our server was great , yet not enough staff to cover a Friday night. Beautiful night out, patio packed. Our sever was serving inside and out. Poor business management. Why would you have such an amazing spot and be under staffed. Will not come back.

My wife and I had drinks and an appetizer at Vic's. The service was prompt, the beer was refreshing, but the food had chunks of fine plastic netting in it. Unfortunately we didn't discover this until after we had eaten a couple slices. When we pointed out the problem she took the dish away, came back to explain the plastic was from the hydroponic basil, and gave us our check WITH the bill for the flatbread. We should've said something, but grew tired of waiting for the waitress (who was busy, but also seemed to want to avoid us). The view IS nice, but it's just as good at Tugg's (20 feet east of Vic's). There are too many other places in the city to waste time with Vic's
