Lovely park for a walk or some playtime with your dog! 🐶🐾 Victoria Park is spacious and peaceful, with great views in both directions—colorful houses on one side and the city center on the other. Perfect for a relaxed stroll, a picnic, or just enjoying a bit of green space in Bristol.

A very special place as I've lived opposite this park all my life and woken up every morning to the vista of it. Huge rolling hills, plenty of green space, a cafe, tennis courts, football pitches, play areas, a cafe, woodland, a skate park, bowling green, rose garden and basketball courts. Looks great all year round but especially pleseant in spring with Sakura blossom. Perfect for a walk, picnic or kick about and much more!

Great park to take a stroll in as has lots of paths. Good for wildlife as plenty of trees & shrubs. Squirrels everywhere lots of Blackheaded gulls pecking the grass for food, lots of birds. And some great play areas for children.

We walk our dog here every day, he loves it, we love it. In a normal summer there's plenty of BBQing going on. The grass gets mown often, even during lockdown. Tennis courts, bowls, table tennis. A fantastic coffee van called Stuffed run a by an awesome pair of sisters. The park itself is bigger than you think, always something new to find.

I just love this park and part of Bristol! I always note how clean it is... And now I know why. This morning I saw a man with his dog going 'round picking up all the litter and putting it in his trolley which he towed behind him (see photo). When humanity drives me close to the edge I like to think of people like him.❤️

Yelp
This is a beautiful little park. Ideal if you are a runner as there is a circular path going around the whole park, with various different off-shoots if you fancy a change of scenery. The path's are wide as well so there is plenty of room for a group of runners to be running one way and a couple walking their dog going the other way and still space inbetween for a baby in a pram! The park is almost a perfect dome, if you sit at the top you have a pretty good view of the whole surrounding area. There's a childrens play park and some football goals to cater for all. I'm hoping to make the most of parks like this as the summer time begins to invade Bristol!

Yelp
This park is one that I come to when I want to be surrounded by green. Yes, I hear you, most other parks are green, but this one really is quite big, that you feel enveloped in all its trees and hills. There are paths running through the whole park, which is ideal for joggers, runners and cyclists. There is also a basketball court at the bottom of the park, along with slides, swings and other playground type things. There is often some art exhibition going on - a few months back there was a large sculpture made out of metal and looked like a prehistoric anthropod just sitting around the middle of the park, which was a fascinating addition. It is now gone though, but not long before there will some other exhibit appearing I'm sure! The people who live around this park are lucky, as I would love to be so close to a park this lovely.

Yelp
This is my local park and though I feel like I should have a certain loyalty to it, it's a bit dull (St Andrews, for instance, is far, far better). It's a really big, rolling stretch with a hill in the middle, which though good for dog walkers and Sunday strollers, means there's no real community feel to it. It's like lots of small things in one big place than a single communal space. To list them, there's a kids' playground, 5-a-side football/basketball court, full-size football pitch, tennis courts and a bowling green. Plenty to do then, but a personal touch would be nice.

Yelp
If you are a country bumpkin at heart, and crave green expanses and the smell of rose bushes, you will love Victoria Park. One of Bristol's larger parks, it is a perfect spot for a summer picnic and a hit of rose perfume. With a mesmerizing view of Bristol's cityscape, you can appreciate the best of both worlds. And in the summer months, there is a small caravan atop the hill selling scrumptious organic food and drink. There is also a playground for young children, in addition to many a giant tree to laze under. Sport such as football and Frisbee are regularly indulged in, the park providing ample space for such activities. During the winter months, the park remains popular with joggers and dog walkers. Perfect for all seasons, and it don't cost a thing!

Yelp
Victoria Park is a wonderful oasis with space to fly kites, play football and in winter it was a wonderful snow playground with families of snowmen popping up and people sledging down the hills. Last year Victoria Park hosted the Black Crowd, a sculpture by artists Heather and Ivan Morrison which hosted workshops, debates, music performances and a memorial vigil on September 11. There were also art installations in the park during The Art on The hill (arts trail) and one of the street pianos was installed here for a time. Annual / bi-annual events that have taken place in the park include a Family Fun Day, Dog Show, Easter Egg Hunt, Picnic In The Park and Bonfire Night. Victoria Park has it's very own bowling club which can be found at the top of the park near Nutgrove Avenue and always welcomes new members. The old Lodge has now become the base for local Community Police Officers who you may have seen patrolling the park. There are public toilets situated in the Lodge. There are also tennis courts run by Victoria Park Tennis club. I'm sure that people don't realise that much of the work done in the park and events held in the park are thanks to the efforts of volunteers. From my experience, its the same group of volunteers who work tirelessly to create a wonderful community space. If you live in the area and feel the park is dull or don't feel part of the community then get involved. Even though I moved out of the area, I still volunteer for Bonfire Night, its great fun, a wonderful community event and raises some money to keep helping the local park. http://www.vpag.org.uk/

Yelp
Victoria Park is a leafy, well-maintained community parkland offering heaps of space for families to go for picnics, walk the dogs, or go kite-flying. This isn't a boring, flat, plain park like many others, but instead is an undulating area offering some great views over Bristol. The park also has children's play areas, tennis courts, public toilets and a bowling club, and during the summer there's a little place selling drinks and snacks, and a series of family-focused community events such as a fun dog show and an Easter egg hunt. Even though I don't live in the area, I sometimes take my dog for a stroll around Victoria Park because there's plenty of space to park nearby, and she gets to play with lots of other dogs there.

Yelp
Situated on the edge of Totterdown and Windmill Hill - This is the perfect picnic location...a giant open space in the city...with a play park for the little ones...super friendly, super lovely, and super green. Bring a frisbee, walk the dog, play bowls, or simply lie down and chill under the trees and in the sun. In Bristolian this is as 'Gurt Lush' as it gets

Yelp
Victoria park is so beautiful and it's huge, stretching all the way from totterdown to windmill hill, it has a bowls club, several play areas, a basket ball court, an assault course and a cafe - it is run by an independent committee and it is absolutely fabulous !!

Yelp
Having lived near Victoria Park for over a year now, I can tell that it is an excellent place to go when the Sun is out. It is a popular place for dogs, kids and has plenty to do like football goals and basketball court. It is also quite handy for cutting through to Bedminster. The only bad thing is the lack of light in the dark which makes it scary to walk through.

Yelp
Victoria Park is a lovely park space in the Windmill hill area of Bristol. It offers views right across the city and is well worth walking through on your way to and from work, shops etc. There are several playground areas for children including one for small children, an outdoor basket ball court, even a skate boarding area. It is a great place to meet friends and enjoy the fresh air. There are also organised events held in the park including buggy buddies an exercise class for mums trying to get back into shape, and in the lead up to Christmas there are carols by candlelight as well as a host of other activities.
