I had a disappointing experience at the dining hall on January 19th around 6:00 PM. While looking for a clean plate, I found several dirty ones in the stacks under the food counters, which seems to be a common issue. When I tried to address it, a staff member named Rahj approached me in a very confrontational and rude manner. Instead of handling the situation professionally, he made dismissive comments like, "There's nothing wrong with the plate" and "If it's wet, just dry it off yourself," all in a hissy tone. He even left his station and loudly rifled through plates to prove his point, creating an unpleasant scene.
I later learned that this behavior is not uncommon, and some staff refer to it as "Rahj rage," which suggests this isn’t the first time a student has experienced this. Customer service should be about helping patrons feel welcome, but unfortunately, this interaction was uncomfortable and discouraging. I hope management addresses this to improve the dining experience for all students.
